    They changed it?

For a while, it was reverted back to the current one (and the original) you see now.

For about a monthish, meg's idle animation would switch back a forth from a new one to the original one.

On that topic, bring back Claudette's old hunchback!

  • Because they wouldn't let me choose Zenitsu from Demon Slayer.

I JUST WANT ZENITSU FROM DEMON SLAYER AS MY PFP

  • For one, I welcome these changes as it'll make for some cool gameplays.

    Also, nurse..nerfed..

  • Old and outdated.

    Don't post old outdated #########

  • Dwight. His coworkers literally left him to die, and he was only tryna be a good guy to everyone but nobody liked him.

  • No its apart of the game as it should be and If I remember correctly they said they do not plan of getting rid of the struggle concept.

As for the mechanics of the button mashing being changed or having the option to be has never really been something they've been keen on giving us.

  • pip = win

    depip = lose

  • Yeah I wouldn't mind, but it shouldn't be as great as Legacy 1.

That's only if the grind for Prestiging your character after the changes make it way quicker. That's only, if.

Edit: it;d be cool if the new Legacy matched with the entity's moon or somethin idk lol

Also, rewarded only if you P3 the charcter :P

  • i relate onna deep level

I just want Omega blink and 5 blink nurse gone. I wouldn't surprised if base nurse got a slight nerf to help make her future add ons.

Which will probably be the only thing they'll touch, and I'm wondering if they'll even touch the 3 blink add ons as well.

With this, we might also see an entire new pool of add ons that will change her style for the most part or atleast balanced add ons.

Base kit Nurse is fine, and I think it's quoted somewhere it's only add ons, mainly add ons, that will be touched.

  • @TeambossFloze said:

Nurse hate is from noob/new players who don't know how to play the game. normal behaviour if we don't like it it MUST BE DESTROYED

Most Rank 1-4 players would agree Nurse is fundamentally balanced without the use of Add-ons & specific offerings.

Her OMEGAblink add on(s) IS overpowered, and that is commonly agreed upon most top ranked players.

The Nurse still having access to more than 2 blinks is absurd, atleast with 2 blinks there's room for chances and mindgames, but anything more is infact overwhelming.

Anyone who complains about anything Nurse related but these two things are not experienced with her at all; Survivor or Killer standpoint. But it's commonly agreed upon she has some broken add-on/add-on combos. That's where most the hate comes from.

I actually use it, always. So now im forced to take it off because they somehow managed to ######### that perk

    This.

How ever am I gonna get those easy Exit Gate rituals now?

If a hotfix doesn't come soon enough, I expect the perk to be removed from being able to be equipped.

HOW did so many bugs get to live version from the PTB?

  • @Caretaker said:

Don't talk about DS. Survivor mains clutch their pearls can call down holy fire if you do.

I guess you don't want to talk about changing your playstyle around perks like Survivors have to either hm?

DS is fine as it is. It barely procs in most games anyway.

  • Just.... why did they even change something that didn't needed to be changed?

I don't remember ANYBODY complaining about the fast vaulting positioning and how strong it was prior.

  • I don't know if anyone will see this but..

NOED doesn't need a nerf. More tools for SOLO SURVIVORS need to be introduced (Such as adding a totem counter to existing perks like Small Game) to help combat/prepare for NOED.

You still hear her footsteps and the moving grass still gives you a way to counter it.

    False information.

Also, sounds are broken and we can't hear footsteps even on the Killers side. Not to mention, foot steps aren't directional.

So please, with correct and not-false info, what are the counters to a Prayer beads Spirit?

I fail to think of any.

  • Without the use of any perks, what are the counters to Prayer Bead Spirits?

  • @ASpazNamedSteve said:

Spirit: No. Only some of her addons (Prayer Beads, possible slight reductions on wakazashi + amulet)

Billy: Hell no, this man should never have his base kit nerfed. Tons of counterplay to be had. However instasaw is dumb and braindead, should definitely be nerfed.

Nurse: Okay ya. This lady is way overdue for a nerf, and her extra blink + range addons should be gutted.

The fact that a no-add on Nurse is still the best Killer in the game compared to Killers with add on (Spirit + Prayer Beads is arguable for this slot) screams her add ons (and only her add ons) need a nerf imo

  • @ReneAensland said:

They better not be touching her.

Any type of nerf and there will be backlash.

They need to nerf her 4-5 blink add ons and her OMEGAblinks. They're ridiculously too strong in the games current state. Otherwise, she doesn't need to be touched.

  • I love hearing Billy's rev, or the screech of a Nurse. They provide different styles of playing and offer a challenge.

What do needs a nerf regarding them?

OMEGAblink and Instasaw. The Nurse shouldn't blink so far with such minimal repercussions and same goes for Billy with those add ons. I'm surprised we've seen them in the game like this for so long without seeing nerfs to those add ons.

Also, why the hell is 5 blink Nurse still a thing in the game?

  • @GrootDude said:

But what if we’re just talking about cute boys?

Basically what my friends and I are talking about while playing, and the occasionally scream from a jumpscare in which the killer pulled off.

  • Playing as Survivor and my god he feels so weak, but that's just first impressions.

I've yet to see anyone be able to pull off the Exposed Effects on me and I am not scared of him whatsoever.

I completely understand what subjective means homie. The reason I say it isn't disrespectful is because it's a video game, it's art. There isn't a way to be truly disrespectful outside of the end game chat.

However, YOU taking these things as disrespectful is something you choose to do. You getting offended by saying you were "disrespected" is fine, feel however you want to feel. But taking something in a video game at a personal level, honestly, is quite pointless. It isn't going to change how the game is played, and the entire argument is made null when you tell people they can play how they want. So, you'll still be disrespected, even though they aren't meaning to be disrespectful, just playing to win?

The main point I'm arguing is that this whole argument is really pointless and dumb in the first place. Call that disregarding your opinion if you want. I hear what you're saying. But it's actually pointless mate.

You comparing it to someone being rude is actually a bad point. Someone being rude is INTENDING to disrespect you. Someone playing a VIDEO GAME to win isn't being disrespectful. You are TAKING it in a disrespectful manner because you are mad at the way they play the game. There is a huge distinct difference in your analogy, and the fact you can't see this line means you take video game actions on a personal level. That is a problem, just pointing that out. A conversation is on a personal level. A dude camping me on a hook is just trying to win. Annoying yea, but whatever, he's a player trying to win. I could give two shits less about feeling disrespected. As long as he says gg at the end of the game I'll know he was playing legit and not specifically TRYING to make me angry. This is the main difference in being disrespected and being trounced utterly in a video game.

It's like when my buddy plays Villager. He makes me mad as #########. But I keep playing him even though it isn't that fun always. Because it's fun to beat him when I do, and he's a great player.

And sorry, but I will always say the Killer already proved his skill when he downed you and hooked you in the first place. This isn't a team game where people are required to help you. At the end of the day, if you die, it's your own fault and you have no one else to blame for being on that hook other than yourself.

I don't even understand your point that you're trying to make anymore... you're just telling me that by finding a certain way to play disrespect I'm somehow butthurt over everything and that's not the case. The OP asked what it was that people thought of of tunneling, and I put my opinion out there saying I find it a dick move, nothing more. I still say good game, I still move on, but you know when someone repeatingly happens that I find unenjoyable, I simply move onto games like Smite or Overwatch and find some enjoyment there. I'm not sensitive.

When at all did I say that I take that form of disrespectful personal?

I'm not continuing any talk with you because I'm not going to be told of how I act when you've never played with, or against me.

I'm not continuing this conversation any further as it is futile and pointless trying to discuss with you.

Brady, do you understand how scoring works? I'm going to assume you don't and break it down for you.

When you rescue somebody, you get 1k points. You get another 500 if they stay alive 10 seconds.

Additionally, the entire survivor team loses one benevolence level when somebody is hooked, and get it back if they are unhooked. The person who does the actual unhooking gets TWO benevolence levels for the unhook, but they LOSE two levels if the person is downed in less than 10 seconds.

To me, it seems more disrespectful to the person getting farmed by not taking the opportunity to punish the rescuer by denying them this rank and 1/3 of their potential bloodpoints.

Just letting the victim go free only encourages the behavior.

You aren't wrong, by any means.

Though let me ask you this, 2 years ago when there wasn't any Emblem system to punish hook farming, hook camping, etc. What would you argue then?

But I mean, it's still a dick move. Still a one you can make and I'll still say gg.

    "Strategic gameplay"

More like "bug that disadvantaged players and gave knowledge to the opponent when they shouldn't have said knowledge."

It was for both sides of Killer and Survivor. Killers would know when someone was above or below, and vice versa.

I found it to be a welcoming bug, let's say. I didn't see anything wrong with it to begin with, and being honest I thought it was intentional all these years.

Um, I am chill? What lol I just disagreed with you mate. Is it cause I said #########? You said ######### to bro. I'm just saying, it's the internet lol.

How is my analogy bad? Tunneling is exactly like doing something like picking a top tier, or making a counter pick in a fighting game tournament. You're doing something that is going to win you the match.

It's hilarious how unhumble you are in gaming. You'd get tunneled and say the guy is disrespectful and never play with him again. While in SF4, Infiltration threw PR Balrog 5 times in a row, and teabagged all apart of a plan to tilt PR and throw his gameplan off. What'd they do afterwards?

They shook hands and smiled, because they know, at the end of the day, it's a game and they aren't going to pass judgment on one another for simply going for victory. Good ad hominem btw. It's much easier to just say I lack the intelligence to argue, than to just come up with a reasonable rebuttal.

Again, saying tunneling is or isn't disrespect is a subjective topic. You are showing you don't know what that means.

It means, it comes down to an opinion. And you are just blatantly disregarding mine because of your own. So yes, you are incapable of a real discussion.

I think tunneling is disrespectful because it's usually in situations where the Survivor is completely helpless and immobile. I.e immediately after an unhook, from the basement, etc. There are other players in the game, and people seem to forget that. So do I think it's disrespectful to take advantage of a player that by no means has the ability to counter play in certain situations? A teammate farms me, I play solo, and the Killer instead of going for the unhooker who could've been easily more punished, decides to go for the easier path and immediately downs me once the unhook animation is done. Yes. Are we all going to agree upon that opinion? No, because it's an opinion. A subjective one.

Do I think it's a dick move to follow a Survivor around for 5 generators, never give up, ignore other Survivors mid chase just because they want that Survivor dead? Of course, there are other players in the game, again. Is that another subjective opinion? Of course.

Do I want to play with someone who's a complete dick in the game? No, why would I? It's unfun. Not that it'll stop me from playing, but when it happens a few times in a row I'm obviously going to take a break from the game and play something else more enjoyable. It's like talking to someone who is just calling you rude names during a conversation. Why would I continue to talk to you if you're rude? It's unenjoyable.

Your assumptions of how I act ingame without any evidence showing of how I do is irritating and your lack of real discussions is more evident than you'd like to see.

You seem to disregard the part where I said, go ahead and tunnel and camp your way to victory. My subjective opinion is not supposed to change how anyone plays. And I will not continue any further discussion until you understand that.

As for the Smash Bros analogy, it really isn't the same. I don't understand how picking a top tier character against a bottom tier is equivalent to tunneling and camping because Smash Bros requires skill at any level of play regardless of Top Tiers or Bottom Tiers. We all know watching your first hook die or just farming someone off of their hooks isn't skill. It's just an easy way to secure kills, which I'll say one more ######### time, is allowed and I have no problem with them doing so. I'm allowed to think it's disrespectful to do so, and the OP asked for opinions.

  • @weirdkid5 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/506643#Comment_506643

This is like someone who whines about someone playing a top tier character to win in a fighting game tournament. Is it disrespectful to use Marth while your opponent uses Bowser Jr?.

No, you're playing to win. Players getting salty and feeling "disrespected" over a player simply trying to win are the real toxic ones. I don't care what my opponents think of me. It's the ######### internet. You passing judgment over how someone plays a game is toxic af.

Holy dude take a chill pill. I never said it wasn't allowed or that you shouldn't do it.

You're so opinionated but you disregard so much. It IS disrespectful, and that's something that's subjective not objective. You clearly don't know the difference.

I'm not even going to argue my case with you. You're incapable of real discussions.

Also, your analogy makes no sense.

  • @weirdkid5 said:

Why the ######### are you complaining about a bug fix?

Is this really how low we've stooped? It was useful, but it NEVER should have been in the game in the first place.

A flat game? Are you going off of the same logic that combos in Street Fighter were bugs but were cool so they kept it? Cause if that's your logic, that's dumb as hell.

I mean, this change does make the game more flat.

It was a cool bug that allowed for more strategic gameplay.

God, can you stop bashing anyone with an opinion?

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/506423#Comment_506423

Why is it desperation to choose the path of least resistance to win in a pvp game? That's what this game is. I think it's toxic to look at the mechanics of a game, say "nah, here's how it should actually go", and then shame people in a postgame chat for not conforming to made up rules. I can't think of another game that I've played where instead of playing a different game, people just expect players to play under an alternate set of rules as if that's the gold standard and playing within the devs framework is seen as toxic.

I'm not going to say you're wrong, because you aren't.

It's disrespectful imo to blatantly go for the easiest tactic in which the Survivor can be helpless in. Immediately downing them after an unhook and ignoring other Survivors for one Survivor is just a dick move, it's not against any rules, it's not about the health of the game, but it's more just of how disrespectful it is. It's scummy to ignore other people for one survivor, or to keep hooking them immediately after unhooks until their dead because let's be honest, it takes no skill.

I know everyone's going to downvote this post and degrade it, but It just shows to me you aren't willing to get good via less easier tactics and if you continue doing so, what Survivor is going to play this game anymore if that's all that happens to them?

With that being said, go tunnel and camp your way to victory if you so please. There's no rules against it, nor should there be. You'll just be an ass hole nobody likes to play with. Facts.

LOL casual bubble. Ok matey, casuals can definitely get to Rank 1 perkless solo. Whatever you say bud.

Either way, your aim to directly attack people in this manner simply because of disagreements not only shows how mature you are, but that you desperately want to cling to your ez tools than to actually play with a little but more skill under guise this is "ruining the depth." No one is falling for it.

The angle for the fast vault used to be very wide, but they narrowed it down at some point.

You've never been able to get the fast vault from a side position though.

I'm not disagreeing or in whatever you're calling it,

I'm asking for game footage because this NEVER happened for me. You couldn't just hug a wall and get a fast vault, you had to reposition yourself properly.

So yeah, where's that game footage of how these broken fast vaults were?

  • @Bongbingbing said:

It's so people can't hug a wall and still get a fast vault. The point of having different vaults is that you're supposed to position youself.

If the devs want you to be able to hug walls and fast vault then there wouldn't be medium vaults in place.

Since when was this ever a thing?

I'd like gameplay footage. If you were hugging a wall, you'd have to reposition yourself out of it or you would get a medium vault.

    Please, I'd like gameplay footage.

But what if, during perhaps some kind of event or double BP event that there are a lot of farming games, or games where one side is letting the other people do the event objective, this would artificially boost there rank past what they should be at.

I remember during the hallowed blight event my killer rank shot up to the purple ranks when I had no business being out of the green ranks.

Rank system and MM needs a rework yes, but I don't think potentially punishing someone who is boosted is the way to go about it.

Being a red rank returner nearly every season, let me tell you

My games are still the same in Green rank as they are in Red Ranks.

The Ranking system is generally broken for all players across the board and being in a different coloured rank hasn't seem to make much of a difference in terms of skill. I've seen Killers and Survivors with 2K hours in Green Ranks, along with Killers and Survivors with about 300 in Red.

  • I FEEL THIS HARD @grayon444

I definitely noticed it with the engine upgrades

Though, advocating for the devil, if they were to actually make the atmosphere more scary again, darker and fog effects, cosmetics like Blendette would have to see to a slight change.

  • @CallMeSpidey said:

    I'm guessing.

    I don't know.

Who thought about this perk? Why is it still in the game?

With tenacity, this perk can be fun.

I've run it many times and had success before, where I've put downed after putting a pallet down / window vault and managed to crawl away and pick myself up.

With iron will + DH + Tenacity + No Mither or switching out Iron Will for Resilience, it's just a fun-gimicky build.

Just bad luck using it and going against a freddy and thought it was funny enough to post about it.

Their capabilities and passion, along with their work and initiatives are not in question.

But the fact that they carelessly buffed Left Behind knowing it'd be utterly pointless in any End game scenario with the introduction with EGC just shows they could show no care towards little things like that.

What I'm saying is, don't hope for a rework anytime soon.

  • @Entità

The devs and Community Managers have made it quite clear they don't care about how the Left Behind buff and the core of its perk is utterly useless. Instead of reworking the perk last patch, they simply buffed the values without any consideration of how the EGC worked.

    • Franklin's Demise, When you hit a survivor and they drop their flashlight, trap the flashlight
    • Do not set a trap right infront of the hook or obvious looped spots. Make them slightly unpredictable. i.e. not right infront of a pallet, maybe to the side of the loop. Another example: Trap a few metres away from the hook instead of right infront of it. Unpredictability will confuse them
    • Their flashlight will run out at some point, use that to your advantage.
    • Prepare with add ons and perks that will help soothe the disadvantage you have against the flashlights. Quicker trap times, no-notification traps. I find quicker trap time will help the most.
  • I don't really find making a players experience so highly unenjoyable fun nor am I impressed that you did it.

They have different effects on the gaming experience as well, but ultimately you game performs terribly.

Good to know the technical differences. I'm not the smartest tech-wise.

This is actually one of the many, many iterations that was tested prior to the PTB. It doesn't really work too well for a number of different reasons. It was decided that since the killer can open the gates and force the collapse to start, it was a little redundant. You have the power to open the gate and start if if the survivors decide not to open it fully.

Not to mention, leaving the gate at 99% is a strategy on the Survivor's side of things.

To avoid Bloodwarden, safe unhooks prior to EGC, etc, I'm glad this version never went through.
