The devs opinions are equally subjective
Yeah it's a good thing their opinion matters more in this situation. You know, probably cause they built the game and all.

Fair enough, those same devs have said camping is a part of the game so I’m glad you’re okay with being camped.
I am though, just like I'm okay with hook suicides. They are apart of the game, devs have made it clear. Killers have free will on camping, go watch one of the OG trailers. It literally says you can use camping as a strat!

Your quote has absolutely nothing to do with the claim that suicide on the hook is ok. Using the Escape mechanics to escape being important does not making using that same mechanic to ######### ok for the same reason using your collision with other Survivors to body block the other Survivors to death is not.
And even if they were explicit it still wouldn't let you make the claim. Devs are human and they can be wrong when talking about things beyond hard data, so even if they explicitly said it was ok that wouldn't MAKE it ok. At best it being ok for independent reasons would cause them to declare it as such, but the devs word alone isn't itself a reason for it to be ok, let alone the sole reason of it's currently possible thus it's fine or as you put it "its part of the game whether you like or not therefore, it actually IS okay."
Again, this is a logical fallacy. Something existing is not a reason why it SHOULD exist. And someone saying it should exist is ALSO not a reason why it should exist.
You need to actually list out the pros and cons of it existing and then make a case for why the pros outweigh the cons. That way it at least meets the minimum requirements for an argument.
My arguement is devs have stated "It's apart of the game" and that "it's here to stay"
If devs say it's apart of the game = here to stay = it's okay to do it if it's apart of the game
go complain more somewhere else. Not liking something that's apart of the games fine, saying it isn't okay is just your subjective opinion.

Blatant appeal to tradition fallacy. Just because something is in the game doesn't make it ok.
Actually it does.
Especially, when the devs said themselves, and I quote, "Attempting to escape is something that is fundamentally part of the game and not changing"
It was also mentioned you're not forced to struggle.
So yep, suicide on hook is actually okay. It's fundamentally apart of the game, here to stay that way. I, am no way, obligated to struggling on the hook. I'm also allowed to attempt to escape as many times as I want.
Sorry to burst your bubble, pal

Haha well its part of the game whether you like or not
therefore, it actually IS okay.

Legion fundamentally is a failure of design. Let's hope with this new perk and the return of old legion, they'll maybe give him a power that isn't just applying Borrowed Time to survivors.
-
The add-ons in which were nerfed, I'm sure were determined by the use of statistics.
The Spirit base kit nerfs, which clearly left her in-game stats (Like phase speed, lunge distance etc) untouched. The things were nerfed on Spirit to make her not-so-######### terribly unfun to go against.
-
No, but they should've just reworked her add ons.
I find her much better with the Matchbox add on now.

This has been the case for a long time. I'm pretty sure the perk is bugged, because this was a problem way before dedicated servers. Half the time, you use Dead Hard, and you end up exhausted on the ground. Bug or not, it's certainly something that needs to be fixed, and has done for ages.
In the meantime, unless you're willing to accept the risk that DH might not work half the time, I would suggest switching it out for a different exhaustion perk.
Yeah but before dedicated servers it was due to YOUR or the KILLER's bad latency.
Now, Dead Hard barely works. I mean, it works if you activate it 3 seconds early. Dedicated servers have broken dead hard to the severity, it was never this bad before the servers.
-
Rubberbanding, also instead of accepting dedicated servers are really bad and they should work on internally fixing them without forcing players to be test pigs on live servers, they are making pc players suffer with it.

Few things I want to quote and mention and elaborate with new info:
"THE ENTITY, PART I
The Entity is a malevolent being that seems to just "exist". In these trials, everything surrounding you is consistent with The Entity. The Trees, The Pallets, The Hooks. They are apart of The Entity. I would also like to add under my own speculations, that The Entity is an unobservable. Similar to the force of gravity, atomic particles, beliefs and desires. We are not physically able to observe them as subjects or objects. They are not comprehensible through our senses."
It seems as though this is true, that The Entity had to start from somewhere in creation due to the theory of energy being "it cannot be created nor destroyed, only transferred"
Given the recent lore being produced, it's safe to assume it stemmed from an energy of hatred or destructiveness, nonetheless this proves the next statement,
"To my personal understanding while remaining relevant to Dead by Daylight, is that The Entity is indeed real. Due to the creation of domains and realms, it falls under the criteria for manipulative success of phenomenons. There is many, many, theories out there that will suggest none of this is "real" but due to unobservables and phenomenons and the criteria The Entity meets, this is not a state within the mind of self-creation. This is not a product of the Killers' & Survivors minds. Sorry Folks!"
Since it's real, it had to of come from something pre-existing.
___________________________________________________________________________
THE ENTITY, PART III-I
"Also, we have to mention that the Entity's dimension seems to not be a parallel dimension with ours as it has it's own time. It's frequently noted that The Entity's dimension does not have the exact same rules, or physical laws as well. Look at The Nurse, she defies our own physics here in our verse.
The Entity being in a multiverse with multiple time dimensions would explain the obsolete sense of time the realm caters. "Time does pass, but it's a little wobbly..." (Quoted from Lore Q&A) proof that time is NOT the same as ours, stopped condoning to the same dimensions as ours, and can also suggest of multiverses existing within The Entity's entire universe."
I think this is where specifically Nexus time comes into explaining this. The quote, "Inherent in each actual entity is its respective dimension of time." applies. Since time is also relative to experience, it would explain the possibility of the same person experiencing multiple different timelines at once, (unknowingly of course) given the evidence of multiple time dimensions and The Entity possessing it's own respective dimension of time.
Also, helps add support to the given info of "Benedict is still in the realm of The Entity because he's experiencing these new realms that are created.", "The Entity's realm is out of time. It is possible that you could appear in two different time lines at the same time if that's the perspective of the person who was looking at it. So, it's possible that Benedict is in both times depending on who is writing about him at any given time. Or it is possible that Benedict left the realm and then returned to it at a different time.""
_________________________________________________________________________
I cannot find any info regarding Nexus Tendrils.
_________________________________________________________________________
"The Entity being in a multiverse with multiple time dimensions would explain the obsolete sense of time the realm caters. "Time does pass, but it's a little wobbly..." (Quoted from Lore Q&A) proof that time is NOT the same as ours, stopped condoning to the same dimensions as ours, and can also suggest of multiverses existing within The Entity's entire universe.
But here's the thing... multiple dimensions HAVE to exist within The Entity's Universe. A huge props and credibility to @TheBretzel for this wonderfully well-proven theory.
Now, before I go any further. You must understand that dimensions and realms are technically separate. The realm being the domain itself, and the dimensions being the components.
SO, There's multiple realms within The Entity's universe.
Some examples are:
The Dream World (With this realm, it's speculated that Survivors are able to lucid dream as well)
The Spirit Realm
The General Entity's Realm(s)
(MacMillan, Asylum, Treatment Theatre)
Campfire (? Unsure if the campfire is considered a different realm. Is the campfire residing separately from the maps and other realms, OR if it's the only time-consistent one. Will be placed under "?", "unsure")"
Please add "The Void" to the list when considering this.
Please add "Torment Zones" to the list
Quoted from AMA reddit from /pcgaming performed by BHVR, ""That is still up for discovery. There might be zones in The Entity where killers interact. That said, It is known that the Killers can be out of trials in null zones where they are tormented and put into submission by The Entity (if needed). Killers can also end up in The Void if they don't serve their purpose.""
_____________________________________________________________________
So, my current conclusion about The Entity:
- The Entity is just an entity, an unobservable, which falls under the criteria for entity realism due to its ability to manipulate phenomenons.
- Multiple Realms, Time Dimensions, and Universes reside all within The Entity we are all at consensus of. This includes pockets in which the Entity has more trouble with manipulating phenomenons and its time.
With the new info, I will add:
- Nexus Time and process philosophy of time seems to be what Dead by Daylight uses, while mixing multiverses and multiple time dimensions given the new info about The Void and Null zones.
- The Entity stems from an existing energy of hatred, destructiveness, or possibly a person itself given the first journal log in archives, "The Entity" in-game. Hence its evil nature.
-
I enjoy Solo because of the nature of Solo Survivor's games. It's "Idk what the others are doing but ill try my best to survive or all of us survive!"
I enjoy the guessing game on what my mates are doing.

Like currently as we stand? I'm like level 23, and I played for 3 days straight. Doing challenges, and I mean staying up til 4am from playing at 7pm for 3 nights straight, and playing during the day occasionally
It's like you should get about 500 xp/match if not more, approximately like 10 games to level up 1 tier of rift. Most people without a doubt should be around levels 10-20 by now.

Not to mention the witch terminology used in her power ('hexes', 'catalyst'). Then again wendigos are cannibals and so is the hag, so i'd consider her a derivation of the two.
Or possibly just visual inspiration from a Wendigo, and she is just a witch.
Not sure though, it's hard to say. Her appearance and cannibalistic features really point towards Wendigo, while lore screams witch

Such a powerful killer that everyone make it weaker than she is. I mean sure she's weaker than before but at right hand you are still as strong as before. Add-ons are here to be used and old nurse no one were using them. Sure except omega blink and thousand blink combo but overall all good nurse weren't using any. How is that normal no one should play against the best players and win with base kit.
However i'm not happy with base kit change but could have been way worse. Sensitivity and framerate and why nurse is so unplayable. As a nurse main on PS4 i still 4k with her at red ranks just not against the best teams because my skill is not that high.
I think if you have a Killer where the majority of players did NOT use add-ons, then that points to are very well executed base power imo.
I do not understand this philosophy in the game where add-ons are nearly being forced on us to use. Killers should not struggle the way some Killers do with their base kits add-onless.
Anyway, base recharge rework put a stomp on her fluidity. Nurse already has god awful tracking, (honestly, the worst tracking in the game) now she even struggles in chases.
I've been playing Matchbox + Kav's last breath for extra range and it's fun, but it'd be nice to go back to add-onless 2 blink Nurse but it's just too terrible playing her that way now.

There's two main reasons:
- Loss of progress. There is an issue where early event cosmetics would sometimes disappear due to an error. We would have to manually re-apply them to each person one by one, which can take quite a while. Often times we would get a surge of those tickets and it would make a huge backlog of tickets, slowing down support across the board.
- There's no way to get them. Lately, we've started to make sure that things are available to everyone. The Hallowed Blight and Withering Blight events are a good example of this; you play, you earn event currency, you trade that currency in for cosmetics. Missed the event but really want a particular outfit? You can grab it from the store. This way you can earn it for free, but you're not totally out of luck if you miss the event.
The simple version is because we want a clean slate. We want to make sure that everyone has the same opportunity to earn them going forward.
As for legacy, we're not looking to re-release that because we have promised in the past that it wouldn't be returning. We don't want to go back on that promise if at all possible.
Lost my progress and couldn't get the cosmetics back
Thank you for this. I do not mind some people who did not grind these events are getting the cosmetic alongside. Just glad I got mine back! Lol
-
That'd be cool, but it was clearly ENOUGH of a problem to act on it AND giving it to everyone for free
-
I'm happy.
No vaulting animation was a lot stronger than people thought. Glad they did something about it.
Prayer Beads WERE broken, and now they aren't. I dislike the new change specifically but glad that god awful add on is gone.
Collision removal was the one I was surprised about. Glad to see her way more high risk-high reward than low-risk high-reward now.
I'm ######### RAVING over that animation vaulting change, it's a good day to be Survivor lol

I swear, I have NEVER seen a gaming community that whiny like the DBD Community. Maybe the Devs should remove the Rift and Archives alltogether, because apparently DBD players just want to have their standard games all the time without any variation what you can do or achieve.
First of all, you dont need to do ANY of the Archive Challenges. If you think they are unfun - ignore them. Then you also dont need to cry about them.
Second, they are not meant to be done in one game (or in the first game you play with this challenges active). I mean, what do you expect how many games you will need to get 20 Gold Emblems? With 4 Emblems per game? 20:4=5. This is the minimum, you got the MInimum. Cool.
15 Unhooks will come eventually. You can ######### over games to get those done, but you have time. If they would be done so fast, it would be like the Level 1-Challenges: You finish them in a few hours and then you are left with 12 days of waiting. The Level 2-Challenges are all reasonable and not really difficult.
So, just play, ffs. Dont care that much about the challenges, two weeks until the next Level opens, around 50 days until the Rift closes. More than enough time to make it enjoyable instead of sweating and thinking this has to be done ASAP.
I have a life outside of my computer, especially having classes 6 hours everyday and it not really ending when it gets home.
So yes, I find it a problem when only 1 challenge is completed within 3-5 games because that's just too grindy for someone with daily responsibility. Especially if it's something like "Unhook X amount of Survivors"
They intended it for the average gamer to be able to complete "no problem" but that's not the case and I shall complain about so, as I'm unsatisfied and am allowed to show the dissatisfaction on their forum.

Nope, they'll be coming to the store soon after that Rift closes. The Charms are the exclusive part to each Rift.
That's kind of the only Exclusive thing from The Rift and The Archives... it's The Rift charms and that's it. The Archive charms are not Exclusive, they're just a sign of each tome and tome part completion.
Got a source by chance?
-
@FireHazard said:
For 1, from what i'm seeing of the new challenges they're not... and it's just random, but you probably already know that by now.
They most likely would have their lore pages with those specific Trapper/Claudette pages (Aka any page from the lore bit in those character specific challenges) but it seems to be that the lore pages can be achieved on any challenge... so that's debatable. But it's most likely since, why wouldn't you have their specific lore pages for their own specific challenges?
It would be weird if Trapper had a lore page from Claudettes story, or vise versa.
And for 2, that's for when The Rift ends, not the Archives itself. This tome will still exist for players to complete whenever they feel like it... that "55 days left" only applies to The Rift, which is what you spend your rewards from The Archives on.
The Rift gives unique and ever changing rewards, and is reset every so often (Roughly 2 months+) to keep the rewards fresh! When that specific Rift ends, the rewards are gone for good! (Except the skins, they're released a few weeks after that Rift on the store, the Charms however are not and they're exclusive to that Rift only.)
I thought the cosmetics in The Rift were exclusive and NOT coming to the store? Hence being in The Rift.

They base these kind of decisions on raw data, and Spirit is a type of killer that has the most high disconnection/play rate. DC is an important factor, because it means "f* this s* i'm out... i'm not having fun". And devs has to take this important data into account to keep their servers alive with players. DbD lost almost 50.000 players in less than 4 months. They have to do something.
What keeps a player playing a video game? Having fun.
What doesn't? Heavily trying to balance the game on a competitive level like some people want... aka the tru3 community lol

Yep solo queue since the day I bought this game
Yeah same here, occasionally 2 years ago I had one friend to play with but didn't last long :P
took me a bit to get to rank one at first but once i did i remained pretty consistent with it as long as i had the time to do so
lately ive been busy with school and other personal things and only play around about 2-3 matches a day and tend to get a lot of casual games because of purple ranks, i dont play enough these days to get to red but a good 3 day hardcore game sesh will always bring you back there :P
whatd you find hard about ranking up these days? for me it's just time, especially with the spike in queue times. ranking up feels pretty easy for both sides still.

Insta heals were toxic. But the med speeds were about right. It seems like they buffed them to "balance" the nerf. HA!
True instaheals were toxic AND op, but med speed buffs were justified with the fact that they were never accumulated and originally adjusted when the healing nerf took place.

The survivor gets no feedback from the Spirit, so how does a survivor counter play something they have no feedback on?
Nurse, when she is preparing for a blink, the survivor sees her raise her arm. This tells the survivor she's about to blink, how long she is charging her blink, and when the nurse blinks, they see her travel to her blink location. All of this allows the survivor to plan ahead and try to out smart the Nurse.
Spirit, she doesn't have feedback besides standing still, but even then, she could be faking it.
My friend and I who are into DBD have been talking for an entire year of Spirit's problem's. I'm disappointed they were only acknowledged once Nurse was changed.
Spirit is counteractive and unfun. Only now are people realizing it, or only starting to be coval about it now. Everyone who said anything about Spirit a year ago was given the "Yeah but she's not Nurse" treatment and silenced.

This is directly from the patch notes:
Med-kit changes
- Camping Aid Kit: Increased the speed at which you heal others from +15% to +25%.
- First Aid Kit: Increased the speed at which you heal others from +25% to +35%.
- Emergency Med-Kit: Reduced charges from 24 to 16. Increased the speed at which you heal others from +35% to +50%. Replace item efficiency with increased self-heal speeds at +50%.
- Ranger Med-Kit: Increased the speed at which you heal others from +25% to +50%.
- All Hallow's Eve Lunchbox: Increased the speed at which you heal others from +15% to +35%.
The speed is increased.
Yeah I know, it was banter at the beginning.
The healing nerfs happened like a year ago BTW, and medkit speeds were JUST changed.
Proves my point?
-
I'm going to go with, Statistics are showing Spirit with a lower escape rate drastically different from other killers.
So yeah.
-
Challenges are optional.

Killers: Self care is overpowered, devs please do something
devs: ok we nerf
Killers: Insta heals are ridiculous! Please do something!
devs: ok, we nerf. but let's buff the terrible medkits which were never changed speed wise to accumulate for the lost of speed in medkits when they changed the charges for healing from 12 to 16 (which added 4 seconds)
Killers: DON'T YOU SEE THAT GEN RUSHING IS THE PROBLEM OH MY GOD WHY DID YOU BUFF MEDKITS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!OHHHHMYGHFODFODODDDD GENRUSHHHHHHHH IN MY NIGHTMARESS!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH INSTA HEALS WERE FINE ITS THE GENS!!!
Anyways, when the healing changes went from 1 charge per second with 12 charges total, to 1c/sec with 16 charges total, medkit speed bonuses were remained unchanged. Meaning, speed was lost from the med kits if I'm not ######### and can do math properly.

He Met every killer and every survivor. But eventually his obsession to the flower drove him mad, and well... broke him.

Thanks for the information! But still, my point stands. Vigo could've escaped. But "The Alchemist" Side (Entity created perhaps?) stayed. Plus Vigo was obviously sane enough to figure a way out. But based on his "Hunger" backstory... his Alchemist side... not so much.
So it depends. It is an alternate dimension. Perhaps where Pennywise came from?
-shrugs- All is speculation of course.
Yes, you are right when it's possible "The Alchiemist" version of Vigo still exists as a Killer, meanwhile a version of "Vigo" could have escaped. Not sure if it is true, but a legit possibility.
Nexus and times loops are extremely prevalent in this realm.

I don't think Spirit is in much needs of changes otherwise. This is my only recommendation. I find Prayer Beads too oppressive not because of lack of information; but to having no downside when being an incredibly strong add-on, that still has somewhat of a counterplay.

I don't think the challenges are too difficult.
I think the problem lies within only being able to select one challenge per trial when that challenge can take multiple trials - it's frustrating.
