I think they care but their priority is how much money they can squeeze from us.
I know they care, and they used to show it, but they don't anymore. Idk just how I've definitely been feeling lately. But of course, who on earth would be a developer for a game they don't care about? That makes no sense D:

(Wrong option, I want the old xmas decorations back)
They said they want to focus on other aspects of the game but, with being as kind as I can with this criticism, the things that need to be improved still haven't been improved for months. They least they can do is add some holiday spirit to the game without cosmetics that cost 10$.
I'm also aware they added more sweaters and a Tree charm, but let's be real, it feels so lackluster when those sweaters (most of them being for license cosmetics and requiring) being behind a paywall and just a lowzy ol' charm isn't gonna bring much Christmas Spirit like the decorations did past years.

New Doctor changes look dope, pretty pumped for them.
Nice job, BHVR

Lets just leave it at that, cause this post has enough answers and it's gaining too many comments on the wrong sub-forum.
Maybe @Rizzo90 can move it to the right forums, since this post clearly has a lot to discuss!
You sound so serious, what a stick in the mud!
Blendy's are just a meme and I'm sure it'll stay that way, don't worry so much!

Let's not bring up his name shall we?
It just starts fights, its best to leave that chapter of DBD alone.
He who shall not be named! My apologies.
But yeah, just giving an honest answer as to why many people hate Claudette, not giving an opinion but we'll leave it as that :)
Them damn Blendettes! Can't let the blendy's escape >:o

Ochido is the reason why people hate claudette, if you were playing around the time he was popular on youtube you would understand.

There will be a stream before the holidays, yes. We'll be announcing it shortly. There's not enough time for a hotfix, though. It'd be pretty risky to do before we all leave, since if something went horribly wrong, we wouldn't be able to fix it in time.
We gave details on what we'd like to do to the flick here, though: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/112192/
Hopefully you guys have a good holidays, and soon figure something out for all the current issues at some point.

How would it create infinities if it only works once?

Because add-ons only last a single game, and there will be a point where the number of games you play without the required add-ons vastly outnumbers the games you do play with them.
But aren't you constantly recyling bloodpoints? Spend some, play a match, earn more, spend more?
-
@Keene_Kills said:
Just my personal opinion, so take it with a grain of salt, but I personally feel like if a killer requires add-ons to be viable -- especially a combination of 2 particular types of add-ons in conjunction -- they're not in a good place. Add-on dependency is the very thing I find wrong with most killers.
I come across this a lot, can I ask you to go more in-depth as to why you think if a Killer needs add-ons to be good, they're in a bad spot?
Sometimes I think this too, but other times.. I think the devs want add-ons to be used every game. I think they want Killers to be slightly weaker at base power because of some of the extreme impact some add-ons can have. Hell, even speed add-ons like Hag's "Reduce setting times of traps moderately" are really impactful.

It works for some but not all unfortunatelly and why the devs haven't stated it as an actual fix which helps.
At least you have it sorted where you can turn it on and off now just in case for any future issues that may arise.
Hiopefully they figure it out
I'm now getting errors during queues

were you the one saying head on is better than sprint burst ? OMEGALUL
Keep running dead hard and if possible queue up in my games, i have some good laughs seeing survivors dead hard into a wall, you should see it from the killers pov its a blast :))
Since you spoke in twitch talk, I'm having a hard time taking you seriously.
I'm going to assume you are not red ranks since you are implying the way people are using dead hard... is the most incorrect way to use it.
Yeah, I did say SB was as good as head on. They're both trash tier. You lose pressure with SB and you waste it constantly vs. having DH on command whenver you want making any loop safe is better. You seriously must not play this game much if you think most survivors "Dead hard into a wall"
Not continuing this discussion with someone who speaks with omegaluls

That's strange it won't allow you to turn off crossplay to try it out.
It does only work when you click options from the main menu screen. If for example you chose survivor first and then go into options it blanks it out.
It has worked for some but not all turning it off but anything is worth a try.
If it's truly bugged make a support ticket as they can look at your case.
I had disabled crossplay successfully now and I'm still getting horrendous queue times

Please keep using dead hard, it makes my life as a killer x10 easier.
I'm going to stop telling people to run sprint burst, why make it harder....
Yes dead hard the best perk <3
You must not be red rank then, no offence
-
@twistedmonkey said:
Some info the devs could maybe use.
Do you have crossplay enabled?
What region are you in?
What time was it? (You said it was a night)
I am sure there are match making issues along with the challenges making more people play one side along with regions being locked down with the servers on PC.
Yes, it won't let me turn off crossplay
NA, Canada.
11pm EST
usually from 7pm-12am I get queue times from 0-5 minutes. The last week, they have been increasing and increasing now to the point of 40 minute queues.

@Science_Guy said:
The queues are definitely absurd at the moment.
But at that length of time, your game was probably glitched. Did you try reloading the game during that wait?
Multiple times, I then started to record at like 20 minutes in, and the queue lasted for 39 minutes until I gave up and quit the game. I'm gonna post a youtube link once it's uploaded
-
@The_Bootie_Gorgon said:
ps4 - my killer queues are fast.
I gave up on attempting survivor archive challenges as my brown rank-E-ness survivor takes forever to queue up matches.
Im red rank, I found games within 5 minutes this morning.
But yeah, Im posting the video to youtube

@Bingbongbong said:
I give up after 15 minutes of waiting and switch to another game props to you for being so patient.
Either there was little to no Killers playing near you or the Matchmaking got messed up again. If I had to guess judging by the amount of other people having issues with Que times I'd say they broke matchmaking again, Happens pretty regularly.
Oh, I never found a game until this morning
-
@OMagic_ManO said:
Surprised you waited that long, I would've gave up at the 10 minute mark.
The videos only 39.38 minutes, but I was literally in Q for an entire hour.
I think right before I started recording I restarted my game and tried again, so it's not an hour long video.
Imma post it on youtube
-
@Rex_Huin said:
Why would you wait so long? I would have reset the lobby after 5-10 minutes and if that didn't work play killer or something else entirely.
I waited that long so I could record it and see how long it would go for. I never had queue last longer than 20 minutes
PC red ranks for Survivor. No, it was not bugged because I restarted my game several times before sitting in Q for that long. I never found a game of Survivor last night, I just gave up.
Also my region is NA, Canada to be exact. Very populated. I'm positive it wasn't bugged because after restarting my game several times I still couldn't find a Survivor match, but I could find a Killer

Tbh i don't even need to explain why sprint burst is the best perk in the game to a good player, but i'll break it down for you.
The fact that you can sit on a gen have 0 awareness and be totally fine if the killer tries to hit you, the amount of play making chances this perk gives to survivor is a little bit mind blowing.
But please, and i mean it, keep using dead hard, i'm happy if i don't have to deal with sprint burst literally x10 better than dead hard would ever be, might need to start telling people to use dead hard since sprint burst is any killers worst nightmare
Dead hard is better by far, you lose pressure with SB and you have to waste it continuously
Sprint Burst is the second worst exhaustion perk lol i think head on is better

Unbreakable and Iron Will: Yes, those perks are really great, i run them very often and you are right with everything you said. As you can see, i put them into high A Tier, almost S Tier and i was thinking about putting them into S. But S is for me more or less reserved for thise perks i think that actually break the game (or are very close to it), and while both are very useful, i dont see them on that level.
Prove Thyself: I think i placed it perfectly. While it is a fantastic perk, it has a major flaw -> The Meta. One of the worst things you can do is to do gens with multible people at once, the best way is actually to split up. In certain situations it is great tho.
Hope: Maybe i was a bit hard on Hope, and i have put it on my "Have to play more often" List, but S? Well, i try to figure out by my own in the near future, then i will update (or not, depending on how it turns out) my List
Thanks for the input
Kind regards
I see, we have different views on what S tier is! I usually dictate S tier as "What's the best and what's currently being played" tier, not necessarily just broken or super good perks.
I disagree with your input about Prove Thyself. Teaming up on a generator *is not* a bad thing in this meta at all. It's an incredibly smart tactic infact if you need to rush certain generators on the map. i.e The mid generator on Azarov's resting place, other unsafe gens that could hurt you as a Survivor.
It drops a generator down from 44 seconds to 40, in a game where time for killers is incredibly important, so try not to overlook that! It's misconcepted that "4 survivors working on 4 separate generators" is the best way the win, most of my games that had gen rush (talking like 3 minutes 5 gens done) were consisted of Prove Thyself builds.
Yeah, like I said, Hope sounds far fetched right? I've been running it a lot ever since noticing we are in a really end-game meta, and I honestly prefer to run it over Adrenaline (even though Adrenaline subjectively better).
Here's why:
You move at 107% movement speed, allowing you to get to where you need to be faster. You will barely ever be caught with Hope.
Add Dead Hard to this mix and you're just a late game god.
Some cons as to why I can see you didn't put it in S tier:
- Doesn't pause when you are immobile like Adrenaline
- Only 120 seconds
-
I would put Unbreakable, Prove Thyself, and Iron Will, and ESPECIALLY Hope in S tier and put Spine Chill in A.
Slugging is a viable strat in high ranks making Unbreakable less situational than you'd think. Prove Thyself makes 2 manning a gen OP, Iron Will makes you impossible to track while injured, and Hope you'll never get caught in the end-game (and a counter to NOED.)
I know the Hope one in S sounds far fetched but seriously Resilience and Hope are a staple in the builds during this meta ( a meta where we see endgame nearly every game and Reslience helps with the no heals+iron will + dead hard making for an insane solo queue build)
-
Don't think they care.
-
Gen rushing is actually defined as pairing up with one or more survivor on a generator, with toolboxes prove thyself or not, and rushing a generator together while someone is in a chase.
Gen rush is not done but a single person unless theyve equipped a toolbox or Resilience.
It's usually done when the Killer's in a chase, hence "rush this gen"
It's a thing, just misconceived alot.

She was pretty much impossible to lose in a chase before. The penalty for missing your blink was trivial, and you could miss many blinks in a row and still be downing survivors at a pace to win the game. Someone like huntess can't afford to miss all her hatchets, but a nurse was able to miss tons of blinks.
But if you WERE landing all your blinks, the game was a total stomp unmatched by any other killer.
The new system actually punishes missing your blinks, and gives the survivor a chance to actually lose her in a chase.
Losing Nurse during fatigue was easy and enough, they didn't need to add a SECOND penalty. She has like 4 ways of counterplay now
-
@Desolate_Sands said:

Base kit nurse was still better than every other killer by a mile. So I disagree.
That's fair. I disagree with you, I think Base Kit Nurse was as good as pre-nerfed Spirit, so I don't think she was that much better than everyone else.
In my opinion, the new recharge mechanic gives Survivors too many options to escape her. She has to go through fatigue, look up, wait for her blinks to recharge, then go. She's lost map pressure, chase pressure, and such.
I will achknowledge she's still the best Killer in the game (Still think Spirit is better than Nurse) but now they just made it easy for Survivors to juke a Nurse, when prior it was up to how mechanically skilled the Nurse was, which was the determining factor of your demise.
Imo, it's obvious the devs don't play more than one side. There's too much counterplay to Nurse when prior there was already counterplay to base kit Nurse.

We respond to as much as we can, but we aren't watching only the forums around the clock. Odds are if a post is disrespectful or outright insulting, it's not going to get a response. There's a fine line between constructive criticism and insults, and the latter is not how you have a conversation with another person.
As far as the basic attack change goes, it's the same as the Pig. It's to create consistency between powers so it's easier to understand what a basic attack is and what works with it. Previously, it was a bit of a mess. Something like Sloppy Butcher would work, but NOED would not. Both activated on basic attacks, but both were treated differently with Feral Frenzy. Not only is this less confusing for someone new to the game, but it also makes it much easier for us to balance.
As for mending, previously it was too easy to get stuck in an endless loop of mending (with mending times of up to 20 seconds). This left people mending most of the time which isn't exactly thrilling gameplay. There's no interaction between the killer and survivor there.
The movement speed, vault speed, and pin changes were all common requests.
Regardless, the changes have only been out for a little over a day at this point, so we'd like to see what kind of effect they have before making knee jerk reactions.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/890425#Comment_890425
We've also commented on similar threads about that exact same thing- it's not coming back because people use it to dodge lobbies. It was never intended to come back.
You mean used to dodge lobbies that look like this? (Solo queue survivor with instant queue times)
And I apologize for sounding rude or is it because you guys know matchmaking is broken and don't want people to be upset? Like, as a solo queue survivor with less than 3min queue times, this shouldn't be happening but it is

My experience with the Archives is a little rough because of being a Solo player.
I really like the challenges like "Escape once with Hope", "Trap 5 survivors in bear traps"
I really, I mean really dislike the "Unhook 25 Survivors", "Get 15 iridicent emblems"
Love the rewards, though even The Archives is giving me errors.
I love the addition of Archives, but dedicated servers and bad engine optimization has ruined my experience personally.

oh? And why exactly is it a good thing in this particular case?
Because the devs saying, in their own game they built, for you to play and enjoy, that attempting to escape on the hook, followed by the struggle phase, also followed by the fact you dont HAVE to struggle on the hook if you dont want to, is okay
but for you to go ahead and call it subjective makes any of your arguments meaningless now. If the devs state something about the game, it's probably an objective view. They built the game and are stating facts about the nature and what's acceptable and not.
If hook suiciding isn't okay, what? You want the struggle phased to be removed and you wanna force me to stay in the game? okay. Like atleast give a good alternative to this "not okay" activity!

Early 2018 was also painful. Not as, but pallet vaccuum was bad.
Killer has honestly never been easier. Could it be better? For some killers, yeah. But if you're struggling as hard as your post makes it sound you are, either try another killer or you're just not very good in general and need to keep practicing.
I, for example, am terrible at playing Hag or Nurse, have moderate success as Spirit or Billy, and do very well as Trapper or Myers.
Early 2018?
