  • If you get looped for 4 / 5 gens now, you're just plain bad. It was very possible and very common back when there were 50 pallets everywhere and pallet vaccum existed, but if it happens now, it's either a new killer or just plain bad.

Half of the time, survivors get hit through pallets and windows, some windows have been made useless from certain sides because of the irrelevant vaulting change.

People just don't like crouching the whole game. They like to take the killer's attention and never turn down a chase, what are they supposed to do without looping? Do you think the devs will tell them "Just use stealth"? That is a good way to kill like 70% of the survivor playerbase, and i'm sure they are not that stupid.

There's still a lot of places where a survivor can loop the hell out of a killer that isn't the nurse. Possibly endlessly.

The overturned long boats in the pantry for instance.
    Most buildings.
    Cars.

The only alternative most killers have is to ignore the decoy, and go after someone else, or get looped endlessly.

Chases aren't supposed to be endless.
The point is likely to break line of sight, then hide.

You don't have to hold crouch the whole time, or run.
Moving normally while the killer is not present works ok for the most part.

I get it. Stealth play isn't for everyone. Some people want to be chased. Believe me, I see them all the time.
I don't believe anyone is trying to get rid of chases, but most sane people want both sides to have a fair shake.

We just have a stinking campfire and dirty log to look forward to when we leave. We want to hang out in the basement and watch TV. Maybe hang out is a poor choice of words here.

The TVs aren't in the basement, and the only thing on is static, or camera feeds of other level areas.

Why do you think the basement gets called the sex dungeon?

Can anyone please explain to me what the hell "SWF" means or stands for ingame?

    Survive With Friends.

  • I'd rather get into a knife fight with Freddy Kruger in a phone booth than deal with every game going like a coordinated SWF as a killer.
That scares me more than anything I'd face as a survivor.

I know damn well killers will be shafted harder than a survivor hit with a huntress' hatchet for far too long, and have to deal with survivors balanced far worse than the game ever intended.

How do you balance around every survivor knowing exactly where you are at all times, and not needing perks to know it?
Or the survivors knowing what perks the killer is using?
Or pulling off coordinated, complex strategies in general because they can plan in real time?
Or survivors getting perks that compliment the perks of other survivors perfectly?

Doing gens is a survivor MUST as they way the game is designed. And I say yet again, camping/tunneling is a CHOICE. I will also say yet AGAIN, there are plenty killer mains who do NOT camp/tunnel who win plenty of matches proving that camping/tunneling is NOT a must but, again a choice. Kellwrs also have the ability to see ALL the hooks ALL the time. Big advantage. You all keep saying that survivors are whining when asking for fair play. If that's the case, then you all need to step back, take a look at the advantages you all have and stop the whining. No where in the games design is it a must to camp/tunnel to advance the game. However, if survivors don't do gens, the exit does not open and survivors don't survive. So you all must expect us to just stand there and wait to die?

I have seen and spoken to many killer mains who strongly disagree with camping/tunneling. Why? 1) not fair play and 2) they get more bloodpoints and xp actually playing the game.

Of course gens will pop faster when you're busy staring at someone on a hook instead of going out and getting someone else.

And this BS of killer mains only do it if you taunt them? I just played a match where the killer started a few steps away and did this crap. No time for taunting or anything.

It's actually simple. People see it easier to sit and camp and tunnel than actually putting in some work and hunt. That, regardless of how you try to rationalize it is taking the easy way out and blaming it on the survivors. Kinda like the stuff my son did when he was 5.

Grow up and learn some actual tactics. I would really hate to see DBD die due to some lazy killers who are chasing lots of people from playing.

Plain and simple... Killer are supposed to hunt down and kill the survivors. Survivors are supposed to repair gens to open the exit to survive. Stop blaming survivors for doing what they are SUPPOSED to do and actually do what killers are SUPPOSED to do. If hunting and killing survivors is too hard there are 2 choices. 1) Play KyF for a while to practice or 2) Stop playing a killer.

Yeah I know, you're gonna say we survivors have the same choice. Trouble is, we're the one ACTUALLY doing what we're supposed to as the game was designed in the first place.

Honestly, I don't camp unless you're obnoxious, or too much trouble to keep alive, if not both. There seems to be a lot of survivors punching down, and staying in lower ranks.

I might patrol the vicinity inadvertently, but unless you've deemed it wise to be a party pooper, you're not getting face camped.

Oh, and if you're genrushing and I'm securing the kill, I'll camp. I'll even face camp. Your homies didn't leave any way to pressure me away from securing the kill, so you're my only objective. You're worth more points than everyone escaping. Oh, and you wrecked my fun in a decently long game full of numerous hookings, chases, maybe a sacrifice, or two because I only had time to chase and hook someone, realistically.

I'll blame survivors for sucking the fun out of being a killer. Even willfully, and gleefully deciding the killer should be miserable.

    SWFs for abusing communications.

    Loop abuse.

    Just generally being toxic.

All towards the end goal of genrushing, and trying to get as close to a 5 minute game as possible, or being obnoxious, or bullying a killer ranks below where you should be?

Oh, I know killers will face camp for the hell of it.

I have been on the receiving end if it, and probably tunneling, too, but I will not pretend survivors can do no wrong.

They can do a lot to set the pace, and mood of the trial.

And that's fine. I have no problem with that. I know there are brain dead survivors and I have no problem with idiots getting what they ask for. My only problem is the killers who use these as their only "tactic."

Yeah, the only reason I can see the tactic adopted is because it creates chaos.

Honed survivors will just do gens, and maybe paint the killer into a corner where they're inclined to camp to secure a kill.

But all too often they won't do gens.
Either because they're looking for gens, in a panic, trying to get rid of ruin, or who knows what else, generally dooming themselves because they aren't pressuring the killer to leave the hook or trying to do a rescue.
3 people doing 5 gens slows the game down a lot. 2 people doing 5 gens is a huge burden.
Then it's one, and hopefully there's a hatch play.
Some youtube vid mentioned the tactic. I almost adopted it. It can work.

Then there's the overly altrustic sorts that reward camping.

I think the biggest issue is campers don't always read the flow of the trial well. Are they going to get punished, or rewarded for camping?

They can do a lot to set the pace, and mood of the trial.

Edit: Typed this while you replied to me.

Yes, that logic I understand. Survivors need to spend more time looking out for each other as well ie. healing, unhooking etc. However, when a killer is face camping it is almost impossible to free them without one or both getting hit. Which is why many survivors die on their first hook. When a survivor sees a killer face camping that survivor is usually left to die. And believe me, as a survivor main I do know there are some noob survivors out there. But, foul play does not justify foul play. That's MY point.

If, in a match, survivors are playing correctly. Searching for totems, doing gens, healing, unhooking, etc. etc. Then why are we still seeing camping/tunneling in those games. I am a firm believer that an idiot survivor ets what he deserves. But, I am talking about killers that play this way as their ONLY "tactic."

Because the killers could be dicks, or want to rank up because it's impressive, etc. I won't pretend killers are angels.

They might have met with a lot of foul play (And there's a ton of it on ps4 in low ranks. SWFs, unusually good people, etc.) and are taking it out on others because lets face it, survivors don't care about the killer by and large.
They'll gate camp, teabag, and do other toxic crap.

Foul play begets foul play. And it comes from both sides and ticks people off into it, killers and survivors both.

But yeah, if the match is going on at a decent pace, hard camping sucks.
The only reason I can see it being sought after so readily is forcing the game to change pace. There is a gamble to it that will hopefully die out. After all, 3 survivors are easier to beat than 4. They can't do anything as fast. Either they have done a lot of gens, or the game has gotten WAY easier.

  • @Sandman1053 said:
So by killer main logic. Survivors aren't supposed to do gens to open the exit so you all can have easier games? Not only is camping/tunneling broken, but so is your backwards logic.

Can we consider there's a difference between a more fun pace, and people trying to get all the gens done in under 5 minutes?
3-4 gens done by the time the pro-decoy is done being chased for the first time?

Gen rush is about as fun, and profitable for the killer as a survivor getting face camped to death on the first hook.

  • I liked that there were objectives other than gens. I had almost forgot how bad people want to rush them during the event.
Then I played post event, and got reminded all over again.

I liked letting survivors harvest, and I liked how easy it generally was to harvest as a survivor outside of the 0 chill, seemingly desperate killers. Usually Doctors, Meyers, Hags, and Leatherfaces.
I did run into killers with chill, and I helped them get theirs. That was cool.

I liked trying to challenge myself to get as many points/not "Entity displeased" without sacrificing people. It's a hard wagon to stay on after the event. They want to be jerks. They want to be overly coordinated SWFs that just want to bully the killer, and get a quick win.

Large maps -sucked- as killer for the event. I practically had to run Iron Grasp, and would have added agitation if I had it. I mean it's not like the hook is going to kill them (I made it a point to try and avoid that), and I wasn't taking them to the sex dungeon. Sure as hell didn't camp.
Then there's the survivors that would run Boil Over, ran away from objective hooks, and generally wanted to make things harder.

And it revealed that no matter what, even without camping, even TRYING not to tunnel, and spread the hooks out among them, most, well, damn near all survivors are gate jerks. It just helped highlight how safe they felt and how HUGE of a safe area there is at the gates, and hatches.

The added objectives were nice. The occasional spurts of the nectar of kindness was nice. The skins are nice. the added BP was extremely nice!

Back to business as usual, I guess.

  • It's hard enough to even trap people. The coverage is horrendous. I put a trap in the space of a pallet drop, dead center, and survivors can still run right by it.
They spot, and disable them pretty easily, too.

If they get trapped it should mean something.

I've gotten out easily enough many times.

If everyone were at exit gates. They are just being jerks

Or the killer was a shitter camper and deserves the bm.

During the event when I hooked a survivor, I ran like -they- were the killer and they still camped out at the gates.
    So, they're just being jerks.
It's absurdly rare that I run into a survivor that isn't a jerk about the exit gates.
They know they're safe near an escape point, especially the gates, and abuse the hell out of it.

So everyone runs it, and killers never get to hook survivors ever again?

Iron grasp running killers aren't likely to be prominent now that the event is over, and any hook will do.

I'll go back to Urban Evasion's pre buff everyone thought it was gonna be OP but it wasn't made it balanced. Maybe they should try it in the PTB

Urban Evasion doesn't directly impact the main source of score for killers.

The struggle mechanism is there to prevent basement plays, and killers getting to event hooks across the map from the ######### survivor that kitted the killer away.

By no means is it supposed to guarentee an escape.
  • So everyone runs it, and killers never get to hook survivors ever again?

Iron grasp running killers aren't likely to be prominent now that the event is over, and any hook will do.
  • I do ok as a solo survivor.
I'm slowly climbing the ranks just by playing normally.

I'd rather not have the killer side of my game screwed over. Thanks. People abusing the power of SWF are already the bane of my existence.

  • Part of the problem is that survivors know they're safe at the gate more often than not, so they get to be dicks until they make the killer go hit them.

There's very little the average killer can do to snatch victory away from a survivor at the gate.
  • @Peanits said:
If that happens, take a quick video of it (walk around for a while, showing that they're not doing anything, show the message you received) and create a support ticket. Report it in-game as well, this will log the game and all the info we need. If they are refusing to play the game and just hiding to grief you, that is holding the game hostage, and it is bannable.

If it is on PC, we'll be able to take action on it immediately. Unfortunately, console bans aren't in just yet. They're on the way soon(TM), and we'll start cracking down there as well.

alright ill be sure to have my phone ready in case it happens again

If you are on ps4, the ps4 share button should help a lot. By default the ps4 captures the last 15 minutes of gaming, and can take quick screenshots.
These videos can be uploaded to Facebook, YouTube, etc.
  • Does it happen at the start of the match? If so, then that's probably the noise it makes when there's an obsession. Also some maps have these creepy noises that happen at the beginning like on Lery's and some Macmillan maps.
Usually in the middle of the match.
  • ######### like that need to be banned.

Torn between just reporting them, or hunting them down with tracking perks, and stringing them up and reporting them.
  • I just barely got my 60. Had to push to start getting 5 vials a night.

    The BP bonuses were nice.
The excuse to alter my play style as a killer was nice, too. I fear that may fade as do the flowers.

  • The killer is essentially the one responsible for allowing hatch plays.
    Slug the last 2.

Barring that, find the hatch, preferably before it opens, and stand on it, or camp it. Most times survivors get as tunnel vision as killers do in a chase, and will only try a hatch eacape.
  • I spawned next to flowers, and another survivor.
All of a sudden this Hag runs up, and starts going ballistic on us. Zero chill.
As we ran, I saw why. The hex totem right next to us.
  • Still feels like there's some places that are still really good for who knows how many loops against Huntress, and people of the same speed.
And they require practically threading the needle with hatchets if it's even possible to hit someone over them. I.E. Long boats in the Pantry.

Would be nice if there were answers beyond "Play Nurse."

  • Watch the lobby. If people pop in all at once, they're probably together.
Dodging groups you think will utterly disregard your fun is allowed.
And the SWFs have to regroup every time.

I don't have a problem with SWF, I have a problem with those that abuse the power it offers.

  • SWF is a necessary evil.

Just dodge SWF, and relish in the fact they have to rebuild their group every time you do.

No, not all of SWF are toxic bastards, 5 min game pushers, uncaring if the killer has any fun, etc., but enough are that it's not worth the gamble.

I don't have strong feelings for KYF kne way or the other.

It remains a totem hex. It works the same in terms of debuffs.

However instead of it being tied to one hex totem, there is a totem created for every generator on the map, and each is linked to a random generator, and never the closest, and/or within certain meters.
Break 1 totem, free 1 random generator of the hex. Break 5, and 5 of the generators are free from the hex.

This might mean more totems on the map, of course. Got to leave room for NOED, and such.
There are 7 Generators on each Map
    I'm aware.
I just wanted to use 5 because it's the amount of generators people can do.
Didn't want anyone thinking they had to do 7 totems, or 7 gens, or both.

There would be 7 extra totems on the map for each generator provided nothing alters the number of them.
You said you wanted to use 5
In my initial post, I put down
"However instead of it being tied to one hex totem, there is a totem created for every generator on the map,"
So a new totem will appear for every generator on the map.

@Rebel_Raven If you are going to stay that close to the basement then what good is TI really? You will likely see someone enter the basement and if you don't you will be close enough to at least react to the unhook and catch them running out of the basement. The whole point of TI is that you can walk away from the basement and still have eyes on it.

At the strongest, 32 meters doesn't seem like much, or it seems like too far to do anything about an intruder.
I mean you can't go out too far to hunt, and if you do go out to hunt, you have to worry about making it back in time to get an intruder. You kinda have to stay somewhat close to use TI.

TI isn't a very strong perk. It's basically niche to go with a basement hooker theme. Outside of that it has no practicality.

Well, maybe ambushing someone after the basement chest. if you're close enough.

Am i the only one who was disappointed with it?

I mean its not like Halloween, its an ordinary slasher flick. Barely the same genre as the first one. Virtually all characters were insufferable with a fat kid so annoying even Michael Myers was asking himself how the hell he made it into his movie.

The suspense is kept to a minimum.

Definitely not the only one. It was barely a slasher flick.

Also mind boggling how they tried to make him more human... by letting him keep his supernatural powers without explanations.

He is strong enough to lift the metal reinforced cupboard out of the frame, still lifts people like they are made of air (like that Absolute Unit he had to lift back up in order to impale him on the fence), turns a head into literal paste by stepping on it.

He also takes 3-4 bullets over the duration of the movie without trouble.

The blood in the house where he got shot isn't even his own, he apparently survived the fire trap too as it was shown empty.

Plus he's older than Laurie, IIRC, so this guy is in absurdly great shape for his age. Even at the same age he's gotta be pushing 60? 70? If he's older, as most killers are, this guy might be 90, or more.

Seriously, they hid most of the kills, too. And I imagine they were really tame, too. But in contrast to the bathroom scene, and the doctor they were probably no big deal. Why the inconsistent shows of bloodshed?

The movie probably did well, or was reported to, so we can maybe expect a sequel, and I'm not sure I'm looking forward to it.

Pretty sure the original movies had nudity, too.

It doesn't make or break the series, but seeing where it's going with the recent movie?

Why bother bringing it back? If it's not going to be a slasher flick, it's boiling down to "girl power" (not that I have issues with female protagonists) and a reflection of their views on gun control.

Exactly. It was very inconsistant. Also the use of guns in this movie was kinda questionable, Laurie held a shotgun with no stock like she wanted to lose her eye and the cop held his finger on his pistols slide blocking the sights and would IRL probably cause injuries and burns when fired.

Also Laurie is a dumbass. Giving away her position in the house all the time while hunting him with an inappropriate gun while pretty much making sure she stays within arms reach of Michael by herself.

Also again, i love how Michael beats up the Journalists as if he had no powers only for the movie to give it back afterwards with sll his strength to the point where he can tank what i assume to be a .45-70 gov (Used for big game hunting with about twice the kinetic energy as a 44. Magnum) to the spine and be fine.

Yeah, holding a pistol grip shotgun like a rifle did grab my attention.
For someone training so hard, she had nothing with a rail system (Cozza they big black scary guns! Or Semiautomatics!) so she could mount a flashlight, and/or maybe laser sight (which would have helped on the shotgun. They do require some aiming, and aiming like a rifle is just nuts) to help out.
Hell, even revolvers, and her lever action could have had one. But I guess mounting stuff on guns was just so scary.
I'm not surprised they were idiots about guns.

Clearing the rooms and using the gates was an OK idea, IMO, but she could have just closed all the gates first, too. Doesn't matter if the room is clear then, or not. He's trapped until he makes a likely noisy escape, or exposes himself to get shot.
Having those mannequins in her house was dumb, though. And on the top floor. In a dark room. Expecting a guy that could look like one. Then going in there. In the dark. Again, no rail system flashlight. Not even sure she had a decent flashlight.
You know tactical flashliights, the ones bright enough to dazzle people, aren't that expensive these days. Or even a head lamp with a few hundred lumens. DBD killers know the power of the flashlight! lol

Speaking of lights, why were they all on the outside? The house was kept dark. Some strobe lights could have dazzled Meyers and made him uncomfortable at the least.

I feel like "no powers" is a little unfair in the bathroom scene. He did drop a handful of what looked like teeth, meaning he removed them from a poor soul in a hurry.

I agree with this. A few perks need QoL changes to UI to make them more user friendly, for killer and survivor. For example, I really wish BT icon would light up when you save someone and give them BT. I've made saves where I was sure I gave BT but then it turns out I didn't because it was a Wraith or Pig that cloaked/crouched at the right moment to remove their heartbeat.

    @Blueberry said:
Honestly, this perk should have zero range restrictions on it, no cooldown and the aura revealed of any survivors in the basement for the entire time they are there. Even with all that it would still only ever be used on meme bubba builds. That's how under powered that perk currently is.

I agree with this too. No cooldown and just always show the aura when outside the 32m range. Inside that range though it shouldn't show an aura only because it removes any chance of counter play on the survivors end.

It should show it even when you are within 32m, there shouldn't be any range restriction. You are literally wasting an entire perk hoping they decide to wander down into the basement. At BEST they go once for the chest there and that's it. This is such a ridiculously situational perk that given it actually happens it should be very strong.

The thing is that the aura reading kinda doesn't mean squat. It's the notification someone went in your basement that's the actual value in the perk. If you made it all ranges then you allow the killer to easy proxy camp the basement. Doesn't matter if someone sneaks past them, they will know you went down there. If there was a range where the aura/notification doesn't work that means you could sneak into the basement if necessary if you do it when the killer is nearby. Killer has to actually watch basement steps to see if someone goes down there.

It's obscenely rare that a killer looking for sacrifices won't stay near a basement hook. It's easy to guard and offers higher chances to net more hooks.
As it stands, with the limited range, they -have- to stay near and patrol at the most to even use it. It kinda encourages camping. Not face camping per say, but still.

Even with unlimited range, the proxy camp means diddly on larger maps because unhooking a survivor takes seconds, and they're all running out.
Unless you're Billy, Hag, Nurse, or Trapper you're probably not going to make it back in time to catch anyone. Maybe spirit.
Beyond that you need stupid good aim to intercept with hatchets or bottles.
If you're close enough to intercept, then you're pretty much patrolling, or are wicked fast.

  • No, Billy really doesn't chainsaw "better" than LF. He chainsaws differently.

LF can cleave down multiple people with his chainsaw move. Making them the same is redundant.
Billy is a bullet. LF is a bomb.

  • Yes please. Something.
It's a serious low point for Huntress.
Right now I just don't have any use for it. Even if you created some basement killer build, most survivors are in and out in seconds.
  • Camping? Be stealthy, and hide. Try not to leave scratches everywhere. Your odds of being caught diminish.

Tunneling? Run, and hide. Break line of sight  diminish bloodlust, stop running, hide and sneak away.

Killers have poor vision, and iirc only wraith and pig can use powerful addons to aura read consistently.

That would mean 2 Generators aren‘t affected by it
I said a totem would appear for every generator. That means 1 new one for every generator.
If there are 7 gens, there's 7 new hex totems. If an offering adjusts the number, the new totems adjust accordingly .
  • The penalty exists, but few to none care about it.

If there ever was a penalty that killers cared about, they'd probably quit because they can no longer secure a kill, punish annoying people, or do much to slow the game down without being kicked in the soft spots  and survivors getting free unhooks.
  • Some characters also have a bad rep.
    Bald dwight.
    Jake.
    Laurie
    Super camouflage claudette.
    Meg to an extent
    Obsessions in general
Loud outfits may also contribute as it sorta marks the person as a decoy.

So they might be the nail that sticks up the most in a match.

  • It's not just the Trapper. Huntress, Billy, Nurse and likely the rest have it, too. No idea what it means, though other than placeholders at best... for now.

  • I started a challenge for myself.
Advance as a killer without sacrifices, and get something other than "entity displeased." At the minimum something other than entity displeased.
I hook to fill my vial. That's it. And I try not to sacrifice people.
Being nice this event sorta inspired it.

And because some groups sorta potato hard when I'm trying to be nice, I chase a survivor around until I can "snuggle" them with my event skin huntress by catching up to them, running faster, or cornering them.
I don't block them more than a few seconds though if I corner them.
Bunny wants snuggles! BUNNY WANTS SNUGGLES!! Lol
    Weird, I know.

I may carry this beyond the event. Help hone some hunting skills.

  • Nah, just gunna do weird stuff, and try to finish my vials, and challenge myself to make rank progress with 0 sacrifices. Gunna try and let them all go.
I see it as being the house that gives out full size candy bars.

  • Been doing the same thing. If the game is completely in my favor, I start messing with them; down them and shake my head if it was a bad play, scare them off gens without starting chase, keeping them injured. As long as they play respectively (no tbagging) I let them go. Hell, I've actually thrown some out if they were downed in the middle of the map. Strangely enough the entity is pleased with my performance even without any sacrifices.
The entity is a mind odd, unknowable, and lovecraftian.

I'm thinking about trying to keep the entity happy with 0 sacrifices as a challenge.

    Sorry, Huntress can't use Insidious.
    Nor Freddy.
Pretty sure spirit is too noisy, also.

Freddy can but in another way: You will see the aura of survivors in the dream world no matter how close they are.

I thought the whole point of Insidious was to remove the terror radius by standing still. Won't survivors still hear the "lahlas" thus making camping effectively with it near impossible much the same way the Huntress will still hum regardless?

  • Sorry, Huntress can't use Insidious.
    Nor Freddy.
Pretty sure spirit is too noisy, also.
  • Dude, you're looking at it all wrong.
They've been trying to punish killers. Killers don't care. They'll camp just to spite you for the punishment.

All you're doing is demanding that you get free unhooks.
Killer players won't get on board with you trying to force them to lose.

We need to reward the killer for spilling more blood. The rewards need to outweigh securing the kill, the need to see an annoying, possibly toxic survivor dead, etc.
Until they do, camping is going to happen.
Seriously, what's in it for them to let a survivor go? Either way, they may lose a ton of points, or otherwise get screwed over by your survivor leaning system.

A lot of killers don't want to be high rank, and if you squeeze too hard, they're going to bail. It's going to be the reverse of the Halloween event, with a lot of killers migrating to survivors.
    If they even keep playing.
Killer players are people too. They need to be happy, too.

P.s. spread the word, there's already a sign hooked survivors are being camped. It's when they raise their arms starting, but not finishing their escape attempts.

Run kindred, and you show a lot of info, too.
  • I'm a Rebel, dottie.
  • When I'm hooked and no one is doing anything.
    Especially not gens.
  • Wow, I've forgotten more than I can remember.

Most of these happen when I try and be nice, and merciful. It's like Survivors can't handle it.
A close second is when survivors try to do obvious strategies on me.

Had a match last night. Me vs a Claudette, 2 mins, and I forget who the 4th was.
It's event time, so I want survivors to get that 5k escape bonus. It's like trick or treat.

I'm doing ritual of the jaws so I'm feeling extra potato on top of it. I'm a lvl 1 trapper.

It's the school level. I spawn in, and see a harvest point near me. Cool. Hope they get it!

One person DCed immediately. So on top of me wanting to be nice during the event I know these 3 people are pretty screwed. 5 gens, and 3 survivors is hard. So that's a mercy mark.

I walk down the street and see a Claudette in purple run towards me. Looked like she was going for the flower. I'm like "okay, go harvest little one." And we pass each other as I'm headed towards a far generator. Didn't even swing at her.

I see someone working on it. I figure "huh, must not want flowers?" I go on the attack. A quick chase and they're on an event hook. I run like they are a fireball in a hallway. Didn't even lay a trap. I want them to get unhooked so I can let them go.

I'm pretty used to instant unhooks, so it strikes me as weird that no one has. I'm not near the hook. There no trap (not like traps ever really stopped them with what little radius they have) so it gets weirder and weirder.
I find the Claudette, which isn't super hard, and strike her down, pick her up... and promptly carry her to the hooked survivor. She wiggles free, and I run like she's the killer.
    No rescue.
I wait. No rescue. The hooked Min dies.
    Now I'm confused.

2 people left. 4 gens left.

So I start looking for people. It gets fuzzy here.
It's not hard since the Claudette fails self care checks. I chase, knock her down, carry her to a hook, and don't hook her. She wiggles off, and runs. I run the other way.

A few seconds later there's pops. I investigate. Failed self care checks. It feels like a distraction strategy.
I chase, knock her down, carry her to a gen, and let her wiggle off. I run.

Over the course of the trial, this basically keeps happening. I'm trying to encourage them to do gens, and not even trying to down anyone. Claudette keeps wanting to decoy. I'm not even patrolling gens. Most stay dead.
I'm wishing my trapper could say "No! Wait! I survivor now!"

After a while of chasing her, her getting trapped on purpose and struggling after I pick her up, I grab Claudette again after a short chase. She's near a hook, and not struggling. I hook her, and she's dead quick. The flower I mentioned at the beginning isn't harvested.

But hey, the hatch is an option, yeah? Wait, no. It's been several minutes, way too long, and it's still 4 gens left.

Pop goes the gen. I look for the hatch. Find it quick. Go for the last survivor which isn't hard. I beat the last min senseless, pick her up, carry her to the hatch, and drop her. She uses the hatch.

    End of trial.

It's like survivors can't handle a killer letting them go, and it causes mass confusion.
