  • Toxicity is if you have the choice to, strategy is if you do not have a choice. I would rather not slug, for instance, but I will if I have to. It can be used toxically, but it is still a strategic option.

i havent lost it, i still have it lmao. i just wanna know if i will be able to transfer over when cross progression comes out.

That is not the point. They are not going to re-give it out under any circumstances.

  • They are not going to give you your legacy back. They said as much when they released the BBQ event cosmetics for free.

  • The entity is based off of Lovecraft's Old Gods, so I am not surprised there are cults in alternate worlds.

However, chosen one philosophy is not what this chapter is about.

The Blight has been actually doing stuff. The Observer might be looking at memories, but he is not actually impacting the trials too much. The Blight, on the other hand, has been actually impacting trials by adding the blighted variations of killers, and has helped with his worlds understanding, even if they only see his work as madness.

The other guy, Felix, is like Kate, although from a rich background. Both have had previous encounters with the entity and barely escaped. He considers himself a failure, even with his entity inspired architecture, similar to a person with a cursed fate. He is not a chosen one. He is smart, but does not have much else, according to his lore.

  • Legion, Ghostface, or PH would be fun to do.

Legion: I love their design and how similar it is to a certain type of internet horror story.

    GF: A classic slasher.

PH: I could actually do this one, and he is my favorite killer atm.

I have already done a Living Freddy one (of sorts), so that's off my list.

I never even thought about a DBD specific SCP. That could actually be really cool. Would probably piss off some people who wanted a certain pre existing SCP though lol.

That would be the most realistic route they can take.

  • Because he didn't make as big an impact as Freddy or Myers did?

The fact I had to look up who he is when people asked about him didn't help his case in my mind.

  • @Koukdw said:

It's very bad. Resilience is better in every way.

    Killer perks looks op tho

Two of them are hexes (one with a cooldown as well, by the way) and the other is very situational. I don't think they are as god tier as you think.

  • Springtrap is the only character from FNaF that has a chance to be in the game. Others don't make sense.

And many just discredit the idea because it came from the series. If it wasn't tied to FNaF, a cyborg zombie would be on many people's lists of possible killers.

    Other notes:

The Blight is a fascinating character.

    Spirit is fine.

    NOED is fine.

That pallet blocking perk of the Blights needs to not be a hex perk. Bamboozle, BW, and Spirit Fury don't have a hex tied to them, and that pallet perk already has a cooldown on top of being a hex. One of the other, not both.

The escape was unconfirmed until today. One of the Blight's addons is Vigo's Journal, and its description states that Vigo escaped.

It only states that he escaped from the void, not from the Entity itself. Talbot made the mental leap from the void to escaping the entity, but he is an unreliable narrator at best.

I think he uses legion too

... I mean who else has adrenaline like f tons of it Ahem Ahem

But yeah once again legion gets bullied :(

I thought that was a reference to Meg. Or Quinten.

  • @BlackMercury said:

Benedict was an investigator looking into missing persons cases who accidentally got pulled into the entity. He used to write a lot of the lore entries, they were canonically part of his journal, but he hasn't been used in a long time.

The Observer is from a magically enlightened world, and was part of an organization researching beings like the entity. He has a tool from his world that allows him to manipulate the entity and view the memories of others within it. He is still trapped within it, but has his own pocket that he controls which is the Archive.

Vigo is a mystery, but it's known that he learned to manipulate the entity, devised the original blight formula, and found a way to escape for good, possibly using the blight serum. It's also theorized that he created the hatch, and possibly the generators and gate. He has/had a tool similar to the Observer's, how he got it is unknown.

The Alchemist was pulled into the entity from an opium den, he found Vigo's old laboratory and notes and attempted to follow in his footsteps, experimenting on killers and survivors to perfect the formula. But he became addicted to the serum and surrendered to the entity. Now he has devolved into the Blight, and presumably he runs wild harvesting blight from survivors to feed his addiction.

I thought the Blight was also searching for Vigo as well?

And that Vigos escape from the Entity was unconfirmed?

It's not a guarantee and there's actually a couple new offerings in this patch. If you go to patch notes on the forums they are all listed there.

Thanks. They are all interesting decisions though... being able to control basement is kinda wierd.

  • This is a killer that has been teased for 2 years. The least they could have done was show the importance of this character in relation to the story within the fog right now. He is one of the few characters to actually research the Entity, as well as one to experiment on the killers, and hunt for Vigo. They actually have a unique motivation compared to other killers, yet that is kept silent. It is all a bit of a letdown.

:D I play killer for 2 years and survival for 1,5 years. And still think, this perk is too much if you compare with others killer perks (except op noed) and WGLF. Its like every game is same. BBQ, NOED/ruin, 50% pop goes and 4 smt else. Boring and same. For months.

Maybe consider why they run those perks instead of just asking for nerfs. There is a problem that only one build is truly viable at high level play, where survivors can make use of multiple perk builds.

It is the same issue that Ruin used to adress before it's rework. It needed to happen, but not before the issue was adressed (which it still isn't).

  • @Kilmeran said:

But to be honest, it's not even a Dev issue in that sense. A majority of the Devs in that department of game work are just coding and adjusting what they are told. The issue is in the leadership decision makers.

There is an offering to guarantee hatch location? Can you give a description to me?

  • @Momentosis said:

    They should...

    • Remove hex notifications.
      • Imagine the panic that'd ensue when people start dropping like flies because of Devour Hope. No hex notification. You'd have to pick up that people are getting insta-downed.
      • Ruin? If you see the gens go spark spark when you get off you'd know, but only if you're paying attention.
      • Raises the skill level survivors have to attain as they'll have to recognize if certain totems are being used without actually seeing a lit totem.
    • Never add a totem counter
      • This is just more handholding. No need to baby the survivors even more.
    • Graphics
      • The new graphics are already heading towards this more atmospheric feel.
    • Animations
      • More natural and smoother animations will help with immersion, which is always good for horror.

This is the truth. The game is not scary because there is no reason to be scared as a survivor. Gore doesn't cause fear, it just causes disgust.

The fact that I jump when survivors camp a pallet and slam it down without even knowing they are there just shows that killers have the fearful/stressful role.

  • The Gore: They want to sell their game in countries that would ban it if you had it like that.

Lighting: Survivors should have darker lighting in general to killers. They don't have enhanced senses.

Audio: That is what the newer TRs are going for. It is why I like PH's, Deathslinger's, and Demogorgon's music a lot, because it is all foreboding and eerie when first entering the TR. They are definitely nailing the actual sound design, even if survivor sounds are bugged half the time.

  • This should've been what Hangman's Trick was, except around hooks. There need to be alternative perks to the meta, but nobody wants to make stronger perks.

I think it should be released before asking for nerfs/buffs. The build for the Blight isn't even the same as what the devs are working on, so it could be radically different than you think.

  • She already has a limit of 10 traps at any time, which require previous knowledge and timing to use well (a lack of creative use of traps in a hag player is a big problem for them). I don't see the problem with this. She has a slower move speed, so she needs her power to make up for her lack of chase potential.

  • Yeah, but we shouldn't be punished because Bhvr doesn't want to properly optimize console. That, and M&K is far better mechanically than a controller is: between input lag (due to wireless) and fps stuttering, PC has it really easy.

  • I don't, and they haven't acted like they have in at least 2 weeks. I went against a game of white ranks as a red rank killer yesterday. Ranks do nothing for matchmaking. It is the one truthful thing they have said in the last couple updates.

  • @immortalls96 said:

Honestly ? The devs effed up..they had no clue what they were doing to her and the results speak for themselves..nurse is nearly vanished entirely in all platforms, and those who are playing her are losing over and over again because the ones who changed her never play her..they even admitted to this..and so shes no longer fun..no.point in playing her when other killers are more enjoyable and just as powerful as her in her gutted state

Nurse was never popular on Xbox because of the way you had to play her, as well as the lag that comes with her effects.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

I've brought up the guessing game aspect before and what I got was "Stop guessing and start predicting." I was like, "Thanks smart ass." As a wise man named Tru3 once said before the nerfs, "They need to not touch her basekit because it's really her add-ons that make her overpowered." And he was right, and the devs were wrong, because now they've nerfed her base abilities and she's now unplayable garbage, maybe even worse than Clown.

The devs re often wrong about basekit changes, look at PTB billy and Nurse. That is why I would be concerned if they ever considered Spirit.

  • @korean_zombie said:

I've noticed que times are always a lot longer on rank reset. I usually just do something else for a few days.

But ranks are not supposed to impact matchmaking anymore... and the devs have said as much.

  • David has only gone against human strength, whereas Ash has gone against inhuman strength. I think Ash would win. That and having a metal gauntlet as a hand is a massive advantage.

  • But they are from famous franchises, Saw and Nightmare on Elm Street. That and they would be liable for a lawsuit, is why they are still licensed characters.

Console player bad. PC player good. /s

Can we just accept that both PC and Console survivors are the same, but killer isn't due to frames and controls.

This is the real issue. : /

  • And shards for cells. They have that kind of thing on mobile already...

  • Because PC has a clear advantage, both mechanically and with optimization. While you have 60 fps and can make the graphics easier to see with, we have 15 frames on a good day. Not to mention there is faster input with M&K.

And then you have PC tricks which we can't deal with. Cheaters too.

That is one reason for why it might be as you say.

  • @Fnatic47 said:

Yeah... Devs don t care ya know. I don t even feel happy with dbd since cross play came out. Lot of hackers and desvantages agains pc players (60 fps)

I turned it off. There are tricks that PC killers have that console survivors cant really prepare for as well either, such as rapid flicks and stuff. It is not a pure killer problem.

  • I skip survivor rituals and Nurse/Wraith rituals.

I only skip Plagues at the moment because she is, as a killer, broken atm.

  • It is risk/reward. Or it should be. It is too versatile at the moment, and you propose to make it even more versatile?

  • The main problem that the 50/50 rule does not take into account is... was... rank disparity (I guess it is MMR disparity now). A new killer will get no kills, but a master nurse will get 4ks most of the time... and SWF skews the data even more. The total average being... 50/50. Or roughly that amount. Due to this (and the huge amount of RNG in this game), the statistics aren't really reliable, and cannot be used as a gauge of balance. And due to this skewed data, the devs make a lot of... questionable balance choices. Ones that hurt the problem more than help it, and on the cycle continues.

  • Probably Huntress, if any. Mainly due to the outdated nature of some of her addons (goodbye exhaustion perks!), and the strong nature of the Iri head/Soldiers belt combo. That and she doesn't have two red addons.

I really don't want her to be touched though, because the devs will just add a weight mechanic that nobody asked for and give her bad addons like: Iri head instadowns only outside the Humming radius or something like that. They thought PTB mothers helpers was a good addon.

I mean that's fine and all, but I'm strictly talking about Legion's base kit, no addons.

The fact you essentially have to run specific addons with Legion to be viable at all (imo at least) isn't a good thing. I have the same problem with other killers too, but it's much more noticeable with legion.

Addons should be... well addons. Supplimental additions to the kit, not required tools that allow the kit to work in the first place. Idk.

Legions basekit needs something else. They are about gathering information, but not about actually acting on it. If they had the ability to act on it, they would be a better, but balanced killer.

And Frenzy does not need to be lethal to be viable. I should know, I played mostly legion until PH came out.

Rarer addons should change how the killer fundamentally plays. Tombstone Micheal and Scratched Mirror are my favorite examples of this. Sure, you don't pip or get many points, but it still makes the game more interesting. Addons like PHs and Deathslingers really should do more than just make them better. Killers should not be addon reliant to begin with, as that just gives survivors another reason they are better than killers, which really shouldn't be an issue.

Because surge stops gens Infectious just shows you a notification, stopping gens in a radius every down would be too much I think even as a killer main.

At maximum use, that can be 2 gens. For only explosion regression (not much) and base regression (not much). Ruin has more value in this case.

  • @Halun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1519994#Comment_1519994

Yeah, but there's no real way to trade that stall power for lethality in return. It's not like you're trying to balance things, you're just gimped from the start. Hell, if you even just M1 you lose your power gauge, and if you miss your attack? Blinded and stunned for like 3 seconds or something?

    It's a bit of a joke.

Legion is all stall, and that's the problem. And on top of that, they aren't much fun to play as or against imo. Playing as legion I feel like I'm fighting against their mechanics/kit more than I'm hunting survivors, and as a survivor you just dread how drawn out the match will be.

Idk. Legion needs a rework imo.

But I love chaining 8 stabs in a row! I love the dash that they have, the speed to catch up with survivors quickly...

Despite all that SWS/FM is, it is the lethal option. It forces survivors to mend or be put in the ground.... because it gives you two methods to down people. You would be surprised by how oppressive those addons can be when used as an option instead of the rule, which everyone tries when using them. You force them to mend, which you can then down them. Its frankly oppressive to survivors.

So if the cooldown were removed for surge, and a killer downs 2 survivors in quick succession when the survivors have 3 gen’d themselves. That’s a total accumulative regression of 48% progress.

That doesn’t sound balanced to me at all.

Well, it is the survivors fault if they three gen themselves. That is perfectly fine, with all the crutches they get.

On top of that, it only works with M1 attacks, which exclude Pig dashes, Demo shreds, Franks Mixtape/SWS (if you are a masochist), and chainsaw killers.

I can land FF shots pretty well but it kinda stinks that they can't actually down anyone.

You trade a lethal power for a stall/tracking power.

  • When survivors are scarier than killers...

  • All of them (with exception of the minotaur because that makes sense, should be customizable. And all non-lisenced ones should have iri shard prices. It is ludicrous that they don't... and extremely greedy on Bhvrs part.

  • @dugman said:

When someone is intentionally following me around clicking the flashlight and teabagging I just turn my back on them and look for someone actually doing gens. The clicker obviously wants me to chase them so the appropriate play is to let them waste their own time following me around while I pressure someone else who's actually helping their team win. Not to mention the clickers are usually confident in their looping ability so why chase someone who is probably a good looper and ready for me to run after them when I can instead go after someone who is out of position or not a good runner? (Plus it has the added bonus of really frustrating the clicker, I've gotten really mad comments from people like that after the game sometimes calling me "trash" because I didn't chase them.😂)

This is good advice right here. If people want you to chase them, dont. If they dont want you to chase them, do. It is hilarious how many survivors will try to get in the way if they realize that you are not interested. They will give easy hits and waste their own and their teams time.

  • If you suspect it is a swf, just bring a mori. Even a green one will do, as just getting rid of one person should be enough to give you a decisive edge against your opponents.

That, and PH played right is a big middle finger to those two crutches entirely.

I would much prefer a -3% hindered effect and a more audible/repeatable audio sound (for tracking around loops) for survivor interactions with the trial than the killer instinct currently. I dislike that killer instinct is something that no survivor can avoid once triggered, unlike auras and many types of sounds produced by survivor interactions. I also dislike that the only thing I can use the trails for is killer instinct. The entire design seems geared toward preventing survivors from interfering at all with the killer's ability, and that comes at the cost of potential power, and I'm not a fan of that.

The thing is, it is a survivors choice to step on the trails when not being chased. If you are in a chase, they already know where you are. That and the KI is limited to only the TR... so I don't see what the issue is.

Flip Flop. I don't know why, but I have started playing with new builds and I have found a build I really enjoy, but only with Flip Flop. I know, not the best perk, but it brings me joy. Well okay, one of the reasons is that both my hands are damaged, so when it comes to wiggling, it does make it easier for me.

For killer it's mmh... Deerstalker. I keep getting distracted quickly, so I tend to use it to find whoever I wanna find again.

Every time I have used Flip Flop, it has saved me at least once in a match. Hell, it is the reason I got adept ash in the first place. So I have a soft spot for that perk. In the right build it can do wonders!

Reading the wiki page should be enough, as long as they have a decent, unbiased understanding of the character they're talking about.

My problem with it is that the people who refuse to even consider it. Its an older franchise than dbd, and has a much larger audience than dbd.

And then demand that Candyman is perfect for the game. Or Pennywise. Or Pinhead. As if there is some quality besides being in a movie that makes them better. But I wouldn't say they shouldn't be allowed. I would question why, but not denounce it so zealously.

  • As a high level Pyramid Head player (P3-lv. 50), it is on you, the killer, to force them into trails. Trails are a zoning method when they are not tormented, and not as necessary to worry about when tormented (If anything, they could be used to aim your Punishment of the Damned).

That being said, if Iridescent Seal changed to apply that instead of the useless attribute it has now.
