Are we just including lobbies or actually playing? Because in Aus the community isn't exactly massive so you easily get lobbies with recognisable "we want to make you hate the game" squads 3-4 times a night minimum if you're in red ranks.
Same. Good thing there is PH who counters toxicity when played well. : )

I think you're mistaken. You get no animation by filling the bar and holding LCtrl. If you wanted to bait you can just go in top of survivor and hold M2. Having a charge time before you cage them plays no role in baiting
Maybe I am wrong about that part, but you can always change your mind before sending them to a cage. Maybe that is why it is like that, idk.

And it is really ironic lol isn't it? a lot of people say this forum is killer biased, yet they hate him.
Maybe because they know how biased he is?
I think people have a tendency to just want to ban what they do not agree with. Which is against the whole point of dialogue in the first place. When Otz and True went back and forth with their videos, it was actually informative, because both had some correct and incorrect points.
The forums, every day, have at least one anti-noed post and one anti ds/unbreakable post. There are very polarized people on both sides of the game. Both do need addressing at some point, but at a state when the game doesn't take 5 minutes and feels like a bullying simulator half the time.
I think the issue with Tru3 is that he doesn't think solo survivor is a problem because he is good at solo survivor play, when it is far from perfect. He is very analytical, and he sees solo as balanced, but SWF and killer as not balanced (on different sides of the balance spectrum).

I don't agree with you on that point. These two actions have two very distinct animations, so you can't really bait by caging against semi-compitent survivors. And even if you could bait, what would you gain out of that? I mean, they can't prevent you caging their teammate anyways so what's the point?
They both have very similar animations, and I have baited out many survivors by pretending to do one thing but actually doing another.

Problem is, when people use his opinion as gospel and acts like if he never make a mistake, and he AGREES with those people...
That is indeed a problem. People should make their own opinions by playing the game and reaching the level of skill instead of just watching someone complain and agree.
That is why I agree with some points he says, but not others. Same with Otz, Space Coconut, Scott Jund, etc. There are some parts I agree with, and others I do not.

The thing is he plays both sides and mind you always SOLO survivor as the game is intended to be played and he does good at it. The thing is even when he plays survivor and he loops the killer he still feels kinda bad for the killer who should just leave him and find another survivor, that's why he tries to explain in most of his videos as killer what should you do and what to expect. If anything while playing he just has kinda gets fed up with all the ######### survivors have at their side especially in swf groups and while people constantly whine solo survivor is not fair or things like that, if he can play it at his level and only solo survivor why can't all just give time to the game and get to that level. Weather we like it or not this game is a competitive one since ranks are a thing if it was a casual game as many would want we all would be in one rank with all level of killers and survivors. For me the problem for solos is that even now most high rank players are boosted by swf and that is a fact which is why his survivor games are mostly no one doing gens everyone getting downed instantly and things like that yet his killer games are more survivors that bring the kitchen sink at him with comms, strong perk combos and skill. Keep in mind he gets not only killer comments there are a lot of nasty people that scorn him for some reason or another, so much that i kinda just want to tell him to tell most of these people to go f off and get some help sine they need it.
Not only that, but he gets a stupid amount of hate on the forums. Mention him in any way and you get crucified by people. It is nuts.
-
You can't make assumptions based on those comments alone. They only show a facet of their opinions, not their positions as a whole.
Even then, some are commenting on 4 man sweaty SWFs, one is commenting on mistakes Tru3 made, one is commenting on the devs opinions, and one is looking at a latency issue. And one points out a common Tru3 hater complaint and how ridiculous it is.
I do not think he is correct on some things, like how to use GF and Legion, but he is at least his own person.
-
I think it is so that they can bait survivors. His punishment of the damned setup looks like you are sending someone to a cage anyway, so it is decent for mindgames if you play it right.
-
He plays both sides, so I don't see why his audience would be only killer mains, tbh.

Problem is Sam would be more expensive for Behavior to do, as she was played by Hayden Panetierre, one of the most famous actors/acrtresses in the game, and Behaviour would have to pay for her likeness rights for the game which could get expensive. Would be cheaper for them to do one of the Until Dawn characters played by a lesser known actor/actress, like Chris or Ahsley.
Definitely agreed about Ormund and some of the other realms needing to be darker. Ormund is definitely one of the worst culprits though, makes me miss the old days when we had offerings that darkened the lighting on maps.
Ah... I still think Sam would be a better fit, even if she is more expensive. Maybe she can be one of behaviors coveted Legendary Skins. : /
They should be darker for survivors, because their eyes are not enhanced by the entity.

Yep, even played on Ormond as perma T1 myers. Still as effective as normal.
They might need to be slightly brighter, but they are overall better.
Well, you must have the eyes of an eagle, because most of the time they are just plain impossible to see... including trapper traps.

I think your frustrations is due to proper balancing and bugs (because flashlights are now bugged...)

I see what you mean, but I hope you don't literally mean Nyharlotehp, due to his near unlimited power.
I mean more to his capacity as a servant of another being. I use him as an example.

Would love to see an Until Dawn chapter with the Wendigo, Ashley, and a new, darker, Ski Lodge map on the Ormund Lodge realm that looks more like the Lodge in Until Dawn.
Another good one would be a Conjuring Universe chapter with the Nun, Ed and Lorraine Warren, and a map based on one of the movies in the series.
I thought Sam would be a better choice for survivor. She is the one that does most of the running... but I like the concept for it. : D
Ormond as a whole needs to be darker. So do a lot of maps (at least for survivor lore reasons).

Survivor's rank up a lot easier than killers. I think the big problem is SWF and that can hit at any rank. Red rank solos just play a lot.
The thing I like playing against red ranks is that they're predictable. They're always gonna run loops certain ways etc. It's that rank 13 that's just getting his bearings that does things that throw you completely off. How can I predict someone that can't predict themselves?
How can I dodge a rocket where even he doesn't know where it's going!?
I have heard that a lot of times, as of late. XD

Oh, a 3 for 3. I am assuming you are colorblind if it affects you so much. Honestly, I dont really see the issue. The aura's still light up in a way that is differential to the normal way. So I dont see how colorblindness really affects that, perhaps I havent been on a map yet where I could see that it could be an issue for certain colorblindnesses, but so far I dont see an alarming issue with it. And as I am writing this, you send me another reply to my older one, so I'll ask you to wait for me to reply to your comments first, and comment to everything as a whole, to keep the conversations down here tidy and easy to navigate.
Have you seen the new auras on Ormond?

Weirdly i find legion works well against some swf as they give up healing lol.
Yeah, you would be surprised what the right Legion player can do. They can absolutely punish mistakes if survivors make the right ones. Jaee is a good example of this, and I would like to think I am a decent Legion player as well.
-
At least having the option to choose would be nice.
-
No, as it would change the playstyle Aftercare requires. Aftercare requires you to be cautious, as you lose your aura when hooked. So it places your own safety above others to give your team an advantage. It is a very underrated perk atm, it just demands a lot.
-
This is just going to encourage Alt + F4, if anything. And they won't care, because people who hook suicide are just going to quit in another way regardless.

The only fun I find in it is locating the weak link and absolutely demolishing them, showing as little mercy as they planned to show me. There’s always a weak link and it’s usually the one carrying the toolbox dressed for immersion. As an added bonus, it’s much easier to take down the team loopers when they’re desperate to save their friend. This makes me decidedly not nice, but neither are bully squads so... yeah. More often than not it seems to be just an average group of friends trying to just play together and if I get that impression I back off a bit and switch to normal play mode.
That is how you deal with them, just make it as miserable as possible for them. If they want to be sweaty, I will make them be sweaty.

yea it does give high satisfaction but the problem is. Most swfs use tools outside of the game to "be better" (discord is a tool) they really need to either add VOIP in the game or do something about the VOIP usage as it gives a really unfair advantage to SWFS who already have a huge advantage.
They'd never be able to do that because of the Xbox and Playstation party systems.

Disagree. Samara is a Japanese icy spirit girl, very different imo. As for delicate sensibilities, most people my age don't find robotic bunny rabbits scary.
FNaF is less about them being outwardly horrifying, and more about something that is normally fun for children being murderous. It is still your opinion regardless whether you find it scary, as people can be desensitized to many things.

Let's be honest folks, they are going to add a FNAF chapter arent they.... These darn kids just keep harping on about it.
Would prefer another cool designed killer like Spirit or Oni
I would prefer non-lisenced killers too, but if people harp on about IT or Candyman again, I might as well put in my vote for Springtrap. : /

Remove jumpscares and Fnaf has nothing going for it.
"Suspense and panicked" I never once felt these two while playing. Just a "Oh #########!" when I got jumpscared. thats it.
Well, you can not like the game, but insulting it to people who do like it just is not the way to go in the long run.
You might be very accustomed to horror, in that case. It does happen. And a lack of investment into what you are doing can also do that for you. I'm not as invested as I was in the series when I was younger, but I can see that more options in the game would be a good thing, regardless of what others say.
It would be like me saying I think Candyman would be a stupid choice for the game because his movie is weak. It is one opinion among thousands.
I still think it is impressive that the 7 original games (not the AR on your phone or the VR one) were all made by one man in the span of only a few years, and I want him to succeed despite what people say about his games + the story.
-
I don't think the game should encourage politics like this right now. At all. The Entity takes who it takes, regardless of whatever traits they have. You can make your own survivor, because there are millions trapped in the Fog. The devs do not need to make one just because they make up around a really small percentage of the world's total population.
-
@ClickyClicky said:
Community attacking the devs has gotten them mostly everything wanted so far - case in point the devs backing down on balancing Billy.
When the developers reward the players like that obviously the players will keep doing it.
They should stick to their guns and give billy the balance update that he deserves
Basekit billy didn't need the nerf though, only their addons... and you'll find most players in agreement with that opinion.
-
I'm sorry that holding the devs up to the standard of the EGC is too harsh.
Seriously though, I can only speak for myself, but I do not want anyone to harass the devs. They put in a lot of work (even if some of it is questionable), and deserve to be recognized for that effort alone. That doesn't mean we shouldn't criticize their design decisions based on their merits, though.

Just by the way I type I can tell you're a sophomore or younger
FNAF is a kids game, always has been. ######### jumpscares and hypetrain with Markiplier and other bad youtubers.
Game has always had a 9 year old fanbase
"BuT tHeY'vE GrOwN uP" 14 isnt grown up.
FnaF has no place in a R18 game.
FNaF really isn't a kids game at its core. You can't really say it is either.
What made it good was the suspense and panic. The jumpscares are really only a small part of the experience. When you are in a game of FNaF, your goal is to keep them away with the means at your disposal, against increasingly more difficult enemies. As you progress, you become frantic, dreading what they would do when they catch you... Same with the other franchises. Halloween is the best example of a killer that provides the same experience: A slowly approaching evil, a battle of attrition, and Laurie escapes by the skin of her teeth.
And people have grown up with the franchise. I was 14 when the original came out, but it is still going strong. There are adult fans out there, despite your claim to the contrary.
And there are people who have grown up watching horror since they were 5. There are children who have watched the entirety of Halloween, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Saw franchises, and many more. Horror is only scary when you don't oversaturate it.

I wish they added a gore system in. It feels kinda weird to see the killers brutalize a survivor, but to have the survivor look the exact same.
Well, they cant have too much gore because of some of the markets they want to sell in...
-
FPS is terrible on Xbox too at the moment. It looks like a gamewide issue more than platform specific.
-
Maybe in a similar role to Nyharlotehp. You know, a servant of the already lovecraftian Entity we all know so well. : )
-
This would be very interesting to play. I already love how Legions power works. Deep Wound is actually a threat here! I look forward to seeing it finished! : D
-
Or have bots like in the training mode on Mobile. A mode where you can practice against bots and still level up until you think you are good enough for real players.
-
It is really bad on Xbox as well. I kept trying to hit people but having 15 frames a second really doesn't help.
-
@DawnMad said:
But here is the difference, the survivors can't see what killer they are facing. I don't see a problem not being able to change killers to counter the survivor items, I would say its even fairer that way. If its such a big problem you can just bring the new Lightborn or the new Franklins, which will most likely delete those items from existence.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1482604#Comment_1482604
Why even do that, that's like saying changing skins should be locked. You realize all survivors are just cosmetics right?
The difference between survivors and cosmetics is that you can hold several builds on different survivors. So by changing survivor, you drastically change how you will play survivor that match. You can also hide items from the killer so they can't counter them.

Same issue on Xbox as well.

Ive heard reports that this is a general killer issue as well, but there is no idea of the cause.

Should be posted in the bug reporting section, however i have noticed sort of the same effect with other killer's when they down with a M1. Randomly the entire screen darken's but not to the extent of legion or nurse's fatigue but close enough to be noticeable. Wasn't using knockout but theirs a chance it's a completely different issue, since it last's a lot shorter.
I wouldn't even know what to categorize the bug as: A legion issue, a perk issue... or a general killer issue, as you seem to imply here.
