  • Anna/Huntress, Legion, Deathslinger, and GF.

I like how realistic Clowns is, and I like how Docs is based on a real person, but they are not my favorite killers.

I like the Blight, but I have to play as him first before I can make judgement.

  • @Deadeye said:

That totally makes no sense. Noone would bring Franklins or Lightborn by default for example, that is lobby depending.

And switching from a "low level" to a P3 pretty much means in most cases that the guy was spending bloodpoints. At least that is what happened when I switch during the last 15 seconds. It is also irrelevant because you can have every survivor set up with a build you want to play, doesn't make sense to lock that to a specific one. Also MMR will not be affected by the build you play.

And last second switch to key/flashlight is something I see currently like once per week at most. That was maybe common like 2 years ago but not anymore.

I don't see how this is a problem at all

    @Customapple0 said:

This is getting childish now. “Waaah my killer is locked in lobby so survivors should be too!!” There’s actually no good reason for survivors to be locked as well.

Maybe if each survivor had their own ability I’d agree with the change otherwise it’s pretty pointless.

Since survivors are just skins, you can have up to 22 different builds saved and can swap at a moments notice. That does not include items, such as keys, BNPs, or Syringes.

And the killer can do nothing.

Of course, you cant see builds, but you can guess based on how they look. Really bloody or neon? Probably a sweaty build. New player? Probably only has new perks. But last min swaps throw that all out the window.

  • I have spent the last 2 weeks learning demo properly. His strengths are:

    1. The ability to end long, linear chases quickly
    2. The ability to teleport long distance and lock down an area.

His shred, when used effectively, can be one of the most lethal abilities and should never be underestimated.

  • I heard that clownisunderrated is supposed to unlock him and his teachables, but I cant use it as I have done both already... XD

Okay but here's the problem. I never talked about or brought up the fact that bumping should not be a thing that comes with consequences. What I was talking about is how when you gave the warning, it only took one more guy to do it for you just to close the thread, after one more guy did it. Also do you realize and understand how bad you're making yourself look by saying "I also didn't need to give a warning I could have just instantly closed the thread"? Do you realize how badly it just looks like in general for game forms? Does that not sound like in the slightest to you like a dictator?

Yes there might have been a quite a few pages with people just bumping up the thread, but do you ever take in to consideration to question why? Or do you just blindly skim through it and think to yourself "this is giving me enough reason to close the thread"? No? Heres why: When that thread was created, it was only after a couple of pages is when a dev or a moderator from the team finally decided to comment on it, but didn't give us a real answer or information that we wanted. Then after a month later, after so many pages, not once after those 2 responses, did we get another response updating on our problem. I even gave an example like this on my previous reply to you, stating that when a community showcases a problem within the developer's game, but the developers ignore it or don't give real information on for so long, the community doesn't know what else to do other than just to do whatever they can to make said problem that they're talking about, and one of those tactics is to keep said thread or comment bump up.

And also no, you were quite literally the only moderator on that thread to give the warning.

Regarding to your statement on about what I said about "ghostly deleting comments" I don't know why you're thinking that I said that you need to dm every person that you deleted their comment, what I actually was saying is that, you didn't put information into your warning that you have previously deleted comments there were against the rules, and that cause a lot of conflicting problems.

If it was just an advice more than anything, then it still stands to what I said earlier, our advice to your team and fixing your game.

I'm not sure if you have realized this, but more than half of this thread is uncivil, and if you didn't know this either, the previous thread was completely civil. And here you are wondering why we are not civil anymore including me, you're really wondering why we aren't civil anymore? That's because everybody in that previous thread was on their last bit of string, a very thin string of patience, trying all of our best to be friendly as we can, but after what you've done, what reason is there now to still continue to be civil about this? And it's not a simple answer, it really isn't.

"We don't need to give a warning about closing a thread, that's a decision we make" Again that sounds like a very dictator thing to do. Yes you choose to give that warning with regards to it but with a very broad regards to it that made that warning portrayed in a very different way.

If you happen to know how much your team listens and how much your team receives information, then why don't you share that with us? Why don't you share that information with us? Or is that just another lie? And also I never did specifically target you as a liar, I said in general that behavior is a liar, and that is not incorrect if the point still stands of behavior telling us that we would get a console optimization by the end of 2018, but we were never given that and not even 2 years later after that.

You and just behavior in general, which is including you, has mislead/lied to us on a lot of things, even now.

So I guess my last question is: What reason is their to be civil about after what you've done?

    This.

And @MandyTalk, I am sure you are a wonderful person to be with, but can we agree that it sucks that Behavior has put you into this position? If it is indeed the reason why you did what you did?

As I view it now, I see this as an example of the faults of the people at the top than the Devs + Mods. I see this action as you being pressured to sweep it under the rug so that it quashes the complaints, and you are now receiving the fallout.

Correct me if I am wrong, but that is how I see it.

That doesn't explain the ludicrously high ban rate on the forums, but it does explain why bug fixes are never prioritized compared to new chapters.

  • They don't even have to use official SCPs, and can create their own (and put it on the site).

  • Survivor: Aftercare. The amount of information you get as a reward for your own skill really makes this perk something special. It forces you to get gud to get the most out of it.

Killer: Blood Echo. I only run this on Demo. The amount of times people will try to bully you allows you to take advantage of this perk especially. That, and a good shred can be ruined by Dead Hard, and this is a counter to that.

No issues in this game at all? Really? The hill bug is still here, and there are plenty of auditory and gameplay bugs that shouldn't be here.

Even in terms of game balance, there are still issues. This game is far from perfect, by any means.

Nah I'm with you on this 100% you said what needed to be said. Like I said the mods here are questionable to say the least.

They do love their ban-hammer. A lot of people that are not here on the forums anymore have just been outright banned for one reason or another, mostly because they disagree with where the game is headed.

  • I have seen this at least once a game, and I have gotten stuck as the killer. Thank goodness I was playing Demo, but man, if I was playing a character that couldn't teleport? That is literally game breaking.

  • The main problem I see with this is that it is tied to BT. If you change DW as a whole, you have to take into account BT as well. The obvious solution is to separate the two back into the old BT effect (pre-legion) and DW.

    @Raven014

I never claimed who’s fault it was and never even brought that up.

All I said is, you can’t kill what you refuse to chase. Simple.

You can't chase what refuses to be found. The last two players often become immersed, which ultimately hold the game hostage as they will try to not end the match they clearly lost.

  • @Maelstrom10 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1588340#Comment_1588340

What im saying though is despite that, if you could just instantly down with every killer by grabbing a survivor at a vault why would you not do that? would encourage people to just run in a straight line and throw pallets and never vault lol

People get rewarded for bad vaults all the time, the momentum system behind fast vaults is way too forgiving as is. Sure, if they are injured, they are down, but if they are healthy? A grab would be very punishing.

  • I dont really have a main survivor, as I use each to save a specific build. But if I were to have one, I would say Jeff. He has all the perks.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

So like when killers refuse to commit to a chase when they have a 3 gen ‘strat’?

A three gen strat is strong (and a legitimate strategy), but not impossible to overcome as a survivor. That is nothing like being immersed and the killer searching for you on the other side of the map, and not actually doing anything.

Besides, if you, as a survivor, let them get a 3 gen, it is kinda your fault in the first place.

  • @Maelstrom10 said:

Because survivor vaulting a window or pallet in a chase is inevitible. it will happen, and doing so whilst being aware of the killer has no counterplay.

grabbing someone off a gen is a way to promote pressure, along with making the objective risky. the chase shouldn't be any more risky than it is, and grabbing injured survivors off a window or a pallet is made difficult by them being aware. if you could just grab people vaulting why would they vault when they would drop and run around every pallet, and only ever EVER vault when your out of range for a grab.

the way this is implemented actually promotes taking risky vaults, and making risky hits (and misses as killer)

No, vault grabs are just inconsistent. They can happen, latency just doesn't allow for it to happen nearly often enough.

  • I wouldn't get them in any condition unless they have a shard price for non licensed characters. I get it, licence holders need a way to earn money, but non licensed characters should never have auric cell only prices on any cosmetics. At all.

I don't mind if they are completely different characters, that is the point, but the nea set has no reason to be a set. The lack of polish on that one shows, especially on the back of her head.

  • Survivor (Nonlisenced): Jeff.

    Survivor (Lisenced): Tapp.

    Killer (Nonlisenced): Legion or Spirit.

    Killer (Lisenced): Ghostface.

  • My perk ideas:

    Killer:

    Haunting Shadows:

The light may be your ally now, but it is always night in the trials. Pits of shadow spawn sporadically, restricting movement through the map. If left unattended, Survivors will have entire swaths of the map impossible to traverse (24m, 28m, 32m). These can be burned away by a flashlight or by the light of finished generators.

This perk would be a part of The Arrival Chapter (basically Slender: The Arrival brought to DBD).

    Survivor:

Unbridled Rage: When injured by another, you become furious as you wait for an opportunity to strike back. When injured, stunning the killer with a pallet will give you a 10/15/20 second window to attack the killer and gain a health state back. The killer will be stunned for the duration of the animation performed (again, 2-5 second long animation). This will leave you exhausted for 60 seconds. If you do not use it within the 20 seconds you will not be exhausted.

This perk would be a part of the Nocturnal Survivor paragraph (I had no other killer with this survivor. And this survivor is a vampire.)

I don’t understand. How are you being punished? You want to be confused by other superfluous things on screen like scratch marks, blood, and auras while trying to hone in on the KI indicators?

It doesn’t matter if it’s a non lethal ability. Legion can’t stall the game if they can’t regularly inflict DW because they can’t hit anyone because of too much happening on the screen.

Miss a hit in power - lose remaining + cooldown

Hit an injured survivor in power - no dying state

Hit a survivor out of your power, lose half of it.

Why is a nonlethal ability so restricted? Nobody seems to know why.

That still seems like a weak argument, that scratches should be removed. There is no reason, and sensory overload is not a reason. Nobody only plays legion because of that.

  • @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1585119#Comment_1585119

    It makes perfect sense.

GF & PH don’t move at the speed that Legion does, and the KI is persistent during the entire FF.

Thus the devs ensured that during such high movement speed the player won’t get accidentally distracted by other gameplay indicators. They’re just visually focused on the KI indicators to ensure they don’t lose track of survivors.

But Legions is nonlethal. Why should a nonlethal ability be as punishing as it is?

Billy doesn't remove scratches, Nurse doesn't remove scratches, Demo doesn't remove scratches when he portals... I don't see how a faster movement speed needs scratches to be removed.

It’s so you’re not distracted by too many other on screen indicators, andcan focus solely on the Killer Instinct notification.

But PH and GF gets them too with scratch marks. This argument makes little sense.

I would bet my right arm that no perk on either side comes close to the frequency of use of BBQ. The aura read while seems minuscule to most people is huge amount of information for killers. Map awareness is key to guaranteeing a victory. Killer mains have no grounds to discuss why survivors pick the perks they do when they are stuck in a rut picking the same perks every match.

I would rather pick other perks than BBQ sometimes. There are times where other perks would be more fun. I remember when Hangman's was supposed to have a 16 m aura reading around hooks. That would have replaced BBQ in my eyes, as it would be far more useful. However, the devs were afraid of making good perks, and so we are stuck with BBQ. Which still has at least 6 counters to it, btw, which are easy to use (gen hiding, misdirection, Sole Survivor, lockers, Off the Record, Distortion, just to name a few).

Adrenaline, DS, BT, Exhaustion perk survivors often do not give the ability for build diversity. It would be nice not to run Pop, BBQ, and Sloppy, but it simply isn't the correct move right now.

Idk people keep running with that argument that you have to feed into what the survivor is planning. If a survivor is following me and I know they were just unhooked, I still go after my target and hook them first. Then I give the other survivor my attention and I'll either eat their DS so that it's gone, or I'll slug them and go after person C or D and make them waste their unbreakable.

I absolutely love when survivors who are injured stick close to me. I hope that's not your definition of a good team because I consistently get 3ks and 4ks against people like that.

And before you asked, yes I've played in red ranks before and have reached rank 1.

Killers, by default, are reactionary to survivor decisions. The ones that break this mold (Nurse, Spirit, Doctor, Freddy, Deathslinger, and PH to a degree) are often despised by survivors, but they can be stronger because of it.

DS is really strong, and insanely flexible in its use. Not only this, but it can turn a game around just by it existing. If a killer sees an obsession, they must play in a certain way to try to avoid it, but even then, if they play too well, they might still get hit by it (59 second DSs are always fun). It forces killers to be reactionary to survivor decisions again, even if they are one of the killers I mentioned above.

I understand that he still closes the distance even with fatigue. Yes if nurse wasnt punished she would be broken. Good nurses hardly make mistakes.

Their power actively hinders you after the first hit. 4 seconds is more than enough time to get to a safe place as survivor.

Nurses are forced to get gud, just like any other killer. I think the fact that there are no redos if you make mistakes for killers is a testament to how difficult the role is. Survivor has its own intricacies, but the fact that the only stress comes from if the killer role does well really says something.

  • I use the charms that are relevant to each character, like for wraith, I use his bell from this rift, Legion I use the discordance charm and the spray painted speakers. Trapper I use the Macmillan logo, danger sign, and a bear trap. That kind of thing.

Although, for killers that dont have any, like Pyramid head, I use charms that have a meaning similar to what they stand for, like the Blood moon, Red tree charm, and a Glyph charm for PH, because they are symbolic.

If survivors pay attention to my charms, they might get a clue as to what killer it is. At least, that is my thinking.

With survivor, it is similar, where I use charms I think they would like.

Ormond does not have terrible loops. Pretty much all of them are either jungle gyms or safe filler pallets and they can be chained together extremely easily.

Sorry, I speak often from the killer side, so they are really weird to navigate. I dont get why they exist.

  • @Golden_spider said:

Shelter Woods is still a boring bland mess that really needs an update.

Rotten Fields is a small improvement but suffers the same issue as Shelter Woods. (at least it has Pig Tree which is something unique)

Blood Lodge is big and can screw over either side depending how RNG decides it wants to spawn.

Disturbed Ward's center is absurdly strong.

Mother's Dwelling is still a little bit too big.

Family Residence is a little too big and Bamboo is absurd for stealth.

    Ormond is big.

AND FINALLY Midwich is a terrible map design wise for both sides and I want to throw it out a window for being probably the worst designed map so far.

Ormond has terrible loops too, just like Yamaoka. I hate those maps (design wise) with a passion.

I mostly agree, but if three gens are done before a down and you're not Trapper or Hag, you are doing something wrong. It's pretty catastrophic to not get a hook, or at least pressure multiple people, for the first 90 seconds or so (assuming no CI and that survivors get right on gens).

Sometimes there isn't anything you do wrong but they are still done regardless. You can't just say that there is anything one can do. Map RNG can be very survivor sided or killer sided, and there can be very little you can do if a team really wants to tryhard.

I can’t remember The last time I lost 3 gens that quickly. I try to protect gens and split pressure though. Gotta know when to drop a chase and know the map

I try to gain pressure immediately, but almost nobody on Xbox plays by themselves anymore, and I don't like crossplay at all.

  • I would be all for it, more killers is more killers. And I have been wanting Afton in the game for a while, since there is no reason why it shouldn't work.

It is even a consumer friendly license for once too, since Scott is all around a great guy.

Gens still flew by with ruin. Hitting a great isn’t difficult

There were people (especially on console) where ruin did actually do work. They couldn't hit the skill check, or the gen progress was slowed regardless. Even if they hit only greats, it took more time than a no ruin gen.

Gen speeds are really only a problem if killers can't get any pressure in the early game. I think it is ludicrous that 3 gens can get done before a single down, but the devs don't think so.

  • I think it could work. Not just because I am a fan of FNaF in general, but because he fits the theme of the game quite well... however people don't like it on here because he carries the baggage of the FNaF franchise... even though it is an older series than DBD is.

If they gave it a shot, they would realize it is not just a jumpscare simulator. A jumpscare is the result of failure on the players part. The tension is what makes the series good.

  • @BabyCameron10 said:

I am not talking about Ruin lol. Survivors not using self-care anymore, now give them extra time to do gens and focus less on Healing.

I wouldn't call it the only reason why gens are fast, but a factor. That and the changes to Ruin without an answer to the problem they fixed was another major issue.

  • I don't use moris like this (if I do at all), but if I were to guess, they either needed someone dead, or they are just toxic. That or they had a scummy game and would like the only easy mode for killers this game really has.

  • The only reason I would do it without BT, is because of a Mettle of Man/Deliverance Build I have going and will take all the hits.

The difference is the hours, to reach the maximum potential of the nurse requires hundreds of hours, the spirit requires dozens.

But in efficiency are they quite the same.

    eh? something is wrong right?

But they both still have to find you first. Whether or not Spirit is easy to learn is irrelevant when they use their power to end a chase, not start one.

  • Stealth. Not every killer should have an obvious counter during a chase. Nurse and Spirit have to know where you are, and if they don't, they cant down you with their powers.
