Nice argument you've got there. You're demanding a person to be silenced for having a different opinion than yours? Yes, that is millenial of you. Off to twitter to rage tweet that someone "in this current year!" is disagreeing with you and your echo chamber. Fear me safe spaces!
You can have an opinion, but do not be surprised if nobody respects you for it. I think both you and the other person are overreacting, but what do I know? I am just another person online.
I agree that there is a problem within the games industry regarding that issue, but this particular post is not the right place to bring it up (because the original poster had nothing to say about or was even related to that stuff). They are talking about how they had to overcome a physical disability to even play the game, and that the after game chat makes them think about how far they have come.
Bring that stuff up during... idk... a discussion of why Janes Archive lore is bad? That particular story reeks of that stuff to me, and suffers for it.

Doc has the most info out of any killer in the game, so it's easy to lose your game sense and just rely on Madness. He also promotes hold-W gameplay with his primary ability being able to deny loops.
Legion is the only competitor to doc in terms of pure info gathering, but doc also has anti loop capability. It is his ability to do many different things at once that makes him as strong as he is, when other killers may need more precision, planning, and mechanical skill than Doc does. Not saying he doesn't, but be certainly has less requirements to use them competently...

Why are you being a downer in this wholesome thread?

See, I didn't forget what Thanatophobia is for... we're just not getting enough of a buff back for what we're losing. Old Thana is -4% on Gens and Healing per injured Survivor (and sabo but that almost never matters). New Thana is only -5% on Generators.
We lost half the perks effects and got back a measly 25% boost to the remaining one. That is simply not enough.
Seriously... take a game with old Thana and new Thana and lets suppose the Survivors do the exact same number of heals and generators. Do you know how many times they need to heal for Old Thana to have wasted more time than new Thana? Less than 1 time per generator. That's it. +1% was a pathetic buff for losing half the effect of the perk.
If it had been 6% I would have been cautiously optimistic. 7% would have been great. 8% would have me super excited. I'm not hating on the direction they are taking the perk. Far from it. I think it is brilliant. Making the perk not counter its counter play is fantastic and should allow the Devs to make it stronger because the Survivors can fight it and counter it (especially now that Desperate Measures exists). Here's the thing though... they practically didn't make it stronger. They made room for extra power in its power budget and just... didn't give it back.
This is my main issue with the Thana changes. It feels like they are just making it easy to counter without any real downside... similar to Dying light. Old dying light was terrible design, and unfun to play against, but new dying light gives an arguable better buff to one survivor that is better than the entirety of its downsides. Even the perk itself becomes less effective over time due to the way it works. If it cut off half the tokens when the obsession died, I would understand. But making it deactivate completely was too much.
Same with Thana. Half of the perk is being removed for a really insignificant buff in the long run. Sure, they heal, but perks like Inner Strength, Botany knowledge, Self care and Autodidact are all good perks for survivors, all buffs to their healing or do heal them when used. Not to mention medkits are still really useful.
That, plus the Pop changes are really disappointing for me, as it shows that they are not really caring about actual balance right now. Or it at least doesn't show it. They look at perks like Ruin & Pop and just nerf them, not why they are used. But... argument for another post.
-
So she would just be dead. Ok then.
-
You should be able to earn them. If crossplay didn't exist, then this problem wouldn't matter, but now that console is integrating with PC, the console players that never had the chance to earn it should have a way to earn it. It should be the toughest thing in the game to get, but still earnable... and not through auric cells.
-
Some killers would die/be greatly weakened (Deathslinger, Spirit, Wraith, Nurse), while others would be just fine, although only slightly weakened (Everyone else), as every killer was strengthened by their connection to the entity.
Trapper might be in serious condition based on the metal in his body.
Wraith might be fine, but unable to cloak (as that was given by the entity).
Billy would be fine.
Nurse would die from all the pain accumulated within the game (ripping herself apart and putting herself back together to blink).
Myers would be fine, his power didn't come from the Entity.
Hag would be gravely injured due to being flayed alive before the Entity saved her. Her power is also given by the Entity (although the archives disputes this to a degree, although we do not know the origins of the symbols, one could say that it could be from the Entity).
Doc would probably die, as the device on his head would probably kill him.
Anna would be fine, her skill and strength came from before her arrival to the fog.
Bubba would be fine.
Freddy would be fine, although he would struggle to regain relevance to his world, as they would forget him in his absence.
Pig would be dead.
She was saved from a Buckshot trap in SAW III. Assuming she would go back to that time, the trap would kill her.
Clown would be fine, although as fine as a fat alcoholic is.
Spirit was chopped to pieces and dying when found by the Entity.
Legion would be fine.
Plague would be dead from her illness.
GF would be fine. Might be better since he wont have a TR anymore, and can do what he does best.
Demo would probably become better, as they can eat their fill properly and possibly become stronger.
Oni might be fine, I'm not sure what would happen to him.
Deathslinger would be gravely injured.
Executioner would be fine. His power comes from Silent Hill, not the Entity.
Blight... I don't know if withdrawal from the serum would kill him like a heroin withdrawal would, but the symptoms cannot be good for him.

It wasn't Scott's video that made it PGTW vs. DS. It was @Almo's answer to why PGTW is getting nerfed, and him alone. Scott's video had very little to do with it.

Statistical data needed - cause 90% of the time when I get hit with DS, it's after I've chased and hooked 1 to 2 other people. Which is the situation I see most on streamers ends as well. Speak for yourself, not for everyone. Provide statistical data or retract.
Thank you for stating what needs to be said.
-
I would argue that Trail is worse than the version now is. 16 seconds can be more than enough time to find someone. Survivors being in control of your perk is not fun.
-
In a tough match, you have to make the call. There comes a point in the match where you need someone dead. It is a scummy thing to do, but it is an option at their disposal. They are there to try to kill you, not to just let you escape. They can play as fair as they choose to be, and the better ones will play as fair as they can afford to. But, if the survivor team is hammering them, don't expect them to play nice.
If they tunnel from the outset and are clearly new to the game though, I have some pity for them since they don't know any better.
I view it as similar to gen rushing. It is brainless and low skill, but it works in some capacity.
-
If his missed attacks, breaking pallets, and portals were limited in range and not map-wide, I would find that fairer. Honestly, as someone who likes to play as him, it isn't that bad. If they don't know from the global sounds, they will from the TR. He is just that distinct. Sometimes the map wide portal sounds can be useful (the Portal traversal can make people cautious if you have been smart with them), sometimes not (from the killer side).

I don't really want to write out a huge list of my dream patch notes, so I'll just name my most sought-after patch note (which will never happen, I know):
We have identified many of the players who were affected by the loss of progress bug, resulting in their Legacy skin(s) being lost. We have refunded these players with their original legacy skins and will review evidence of further reported lost legacy skins.
It is recommended that you send us as much evidence as possible when informing us of what legacy skins you lost, including:
- Steam screenshots
- Videos (Including YouTube or even relevant Twitch clips)
Important: Steam achievements MUST be public and you MUST have prestiged before the 24th November, 2016. Anyone that sends us a false report may face temporary or permanent in-game suspension.
If you lost your legacy skins and have not yet been refunded, please contact: ........................................
We deeply apologize for this and thank you for your patience (no cap this time).
That'd be my dream patch note! :)
I would rather legacy have a way of being obtained (via difficult challenges or something so it is worth it) in game for platforms that never had a chance. If crossplay didn't exist, this wouldn't be an issue, but since it does, it is just a PC exclusive. Similar to Nintendo having a Trapper exclusive set for the Switch and the Deathgarden cosmetics. They said they would stop doing that with the Summer BBQ, but have this special place for legacy. Just seems like PC favoritism to me... but maybe I am just a console player who doesn't know any better... even though I played from when console first released DBD... : /

Yeah, it's a lot. But I feel a lot needs reworked.
Off The Record might need to be cut down a little in time, but I think it'd be a strong anti-tunneling perk that killers probably wouldn't mind too much. (And it can only activate twice per match.) I think we need to really shake up the meta a bit, though.
Cruel Limits might also need a time reduction with that change. But it's hard to make useful otherwise, and it can only proc 5 times per match. And Survivors would still have pallets. It'd be a strong chase perk, for sure though.
My goal was to buff perks to the point where people might actually have a reason to use them, instead of relying on the current meta. So many perks are just useless on both sides now. Why run anything but DS/Unbreakable? Why run anything but Ruin/Undying? Why would anyone really run current Off the Record? It's a weaker version of Iron Will with built in distortion. Killers don't often use Aura reading perks, though. So it's not really worth it imo. Why run Hang Man's Trick? The aura reading basically gives you no information 90% of the time. It's probably the worst perk in the game right now. It'd be nice if we had a variety of perks to choose from that aren't really niche perks or things we run because we're bored.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1651430#Comment_1651430
Ruin doesn't need buffed at all. Like... before Undying was a thing, I'd maybe agree with you.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1651528#Comment_1651528
Mine doesn't gut survivors at all. A couple of minor nerfs, with some killer buffs. But also some survivor buffs.
Thats true. Undying does make it stronger... Maybe the skill check thing can go on Lullaby instead.
I was mainly writing it like that to show what a truly killer sided patch notes would sound like.
-
Due to actual feedback, we have discovered that Decisive Strike is too common and has too much utility. It has been reworked to fit one very specific, niche use, instead of being used aggressively.
- DS now activates twice for 20 seconds (after being unhooked).
- The timer is paused if slugged or in a chase.
- The timer deactivates if progress is made on a gen, hiding in a locker, or you go to full health.
- DS still works functionally the same, but has a cooldown of 180 seconds per use.
This would fill the role of anti-tunnel much better than the old version.
Gens now have different types of skill checks, and they do not act the similarly to each other.
They are easier when you look at a gen, looking away causes them to decrease by 50%.
If a gen is not being worked on, it will regress.
Ruin has been reworked to increase the regression bonus, as well as reintroducing the old skill check aspect for fairness.
Knockout now works on all attacks.

Dead Hard - Removed the distance gained from using this perk
Sprint burst - Survivors who go into the game with this equipped will be wearing a diaper since its “babys first crutch perk”
NOED - If the killer has stayed in proximity of hooked survivors for more than 30 seconds ir hooked the same survivor 3 times in a row then NOED does not activate
Legion - “We discovered that players did not enjoy the Legion therefore we have removed him from the game”
Claudette - Now has a bright glow around her P3 cosmetics
Aww... I enjoy legion...
-
They also allow survivors to deactivate Trail of Torment, a perk with a hefty cooldown and a minimally good status buff for only a few seconds. That kills that particular perk now.

@Kind_Lemon said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1519660#Comment_1519660
I would disagree, mainly because oftentimes there's some random, tiny piece of trail that's making no noise and is only visible from one side that I manage to step on while not in a chase. Then I get tormented after spending all that time being careful around the trails coded properly :/
Secondly, killers often just make guesses as to where survivors are when chasing them, so in several cases, a killer might lose track of a survivor temporarily, and for Pyramid Head, having a for sure indicator of where a survivor is might lead to an easy Punishment of the Damned down.
Also, I'm pretty sure KI isn't limited to terror radius (it has a different way of being measured). That was only a thing with legion, and it got removed.
KI is hardly reliable information, even on Legion, who it was built for. It doesn't show how far they are, as the , it works off of a pulse system, which can be fooled by the way...
You are correct about the TR thing, I forgot about that.

Doctors. They are the reason why I run Calm Spirit most of the time in my normal build.

Of all the perks... No Mither?
They are essentially exposed all game, but able to recover... that is the whole point! Why would you play into that perks playstyle? If you see a broken person at the start, you should know not to slug them!
Now I know the true definition of killer entitlement when contested here on the forums....

One perk deactivates after a couple minutes, and another is only as good as you are. I think they are fair.

I love chaotic evil survivors. I never get enough of them, and sometimes I chuck on a game offering myself just to have a map that isn't the swamp for once.
And I guess I am a lawful good killer, being a Legion main. : P
-
I'm sorry that console players like myself are expecting a stable game. I really am. But if behavior delivers a substandard product, then it is on them to fix it, which they are currently not focusing on (or it at least looks that way).
If my game can run Doom Eternal at perfect frames, then why can't it run DBD?
-
None, as they are probably to mentally strained to think of things like love.
Although, some might have respect for each other, like Yui and David, Bill and David, and more. Everybody probably respects Bill because of his self sacrificing nature. Things like that.
-
No. The closest it could ever spawn to basement is within the main building or by shack, but never in the basement. Hatch spawns are map dependent though.
-
- Plunderers exists.
- This has potential, but I'm not sure how much...
- The momentum mechanic is already stupid sometimes, it does not need this perk to help it.
- A reverse BBQ?
- A reverse Brutal Strength + Enduring... I like this one a little.
-
Each of these maps (with exception to Sanctum) are all decent looking maps, they just have some really ridiculous RNG sometimes. If I were to say from a gameplay standpoint, Hawkins or Grave of Glenvale are probably my favorites.
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
If you like this then you should go play Last Year. It has exactly that.
It also doing nowhere near as good as dbd.
The lack of hooks in Last Year is not why the game is not as popular. It is mostly due to bad marketing close to release, and it's over reliance on Discord as a fundamental part of the game.
-

Very tough choice
Delete Legion
Fix Ghostface
Change NOED and some exhaustion perks
Change OoO
Remove some of the extreme RNG (strong windows closed everytime I play survivor but same windows always open when I play killer)

I cannot allow you to just delete my main here, but GF needs the fixes.

Honestly same, I play on PS4 and I have had so many frame drops when doing something like sit on a gen or chase a survivor, let alone when something on screen appears like a hex or bloodlust. I think they really need to sort out how badly the game runs for console players, that being said I do feel like the matchmaking is overall pretty ok at higher ranks (red/purple) but things like keys and moris still need to be changed.
It would be best for them to optimize console, but the fact they closed the largest constructive thread about it with only one warning says a lot.

The bugs I meant are, being unable to hook, kick gens, vault, or break pallets. The hook bug is most consistent, but the others can be sprinkled in throughout the match and it just wastes so much time and can cost me pressure.
I encountered a bug in which I couldn't vault a strong window (Mothers Dwelling). That seemed kind of game breaking...

I don't believe he truly means they are weaker (pH, doc, freddy), I think he means with console frame rate on doc can feel like he has hicc-ups on certain maps and that's the fps issue some killers have on console is very noticeable. As far as freddie I have never had problems playing as him. I've been playing since 2017 and with all the horrible problems(sarcasm) I read on this forum, things are not as bad as people think. It is a video game and has come a long way. But imo on ps4 I don't even try nurse and I'm a true mess as huntress so I don't bother
True...
-
Console player:
A lot of the nonsense survivors have is amplified due to poor optimization. In one moment, it is stable, the next, the frames drop and the survivor I am chasing is gone.
It would be fun if it felt like an equal playing field.

What makes me really afraid is that the killers that experience the most issues on console are recent ones: reworked Doctor, reworked Freddy, Demogorgon, Pyramid Head and now Blight. The same goes for new maps (Hawkins, Midwich, new Lery's and Sanctum of Wrath). It seems to me that after the game got free on Playstation Plus they stopped caring for the console community and just released their new content without tests.
I disagree that PH, Doc, and Freddy are weaker on console, they are still very strong. I will agree that Blight, Nurse, Spirit, Huntress, and Deathslinger are tougher on Console though.
-
Blight is really limited on console. And that is an issue, that he is good on PC, but not on console... I want to play as him, but I get more frustrated with him than I do as Nurse, and I hate nurse. : P
-
I would want Springtrap. Not just because I am a fan of the series, but because I believe he would be what the Entity looks for. At least in comparison to other characters.
- He is a malicious person: Depending on who you ask, William Afton (aka, Springtrap) has been portrayed as mad, or completely demented. Either way, he still killed people, and caused major tragedies... which is what the Entity feeds off of.
- The Entity can make a deal: The Entity acts like the devil a lot, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if he did with William. Escape hell if you kill for them? Sounds like a dream for William.
- He is a dark and gritty character. A decaying corpse mangled by machinery... that kind of tormented soul would appeal to the Entity.
- He causes fear, and loves to cause it. In FNaF 3 and FNaF 6, trying to keep him away with audio is always a challenge... half the time he can't even be stopped by it. He is relentless.
- Almost every place he goes to becomes marked by tragedy. Be it Fredbears, to Fazbears Fright... People go missing, die, places are burned to the ground...
- Like the Spirit or Deathslinger, he can is undead and can be manipulated, although I don't think they need to go that far to convince William. As I said in point 2, just freedom from Hell would be enough for him (Ultimate Custom Night is Williams Hell).
If the devs wanted to, there are multiple different appearances for William, since the AR app has 3 different skins already (Toxic, Flaming, and Clown), besides his original and Scraptrap appearances...
On another note: FNaF is still going strong. The trailer for FNaF: Security Breach dropped earlier this month. It will be releasing on PS5 and PC, the movie is still on schedule, and there are lots of books, all of which means that it is still a relevant franchise. Which could bring in new players, if they are not turned off by unbalance, bugs, and lack of care for the killer role in some cases.
