Just wondering as I keep getting black-pips even if I do virtually everything survivors can do in a trial (gens, totems, unhooks, chases + escape = still black pip).
Happened to a friend of mine also. She had like like 7k points in every category and still barely safety pipped

Just salty players that can't accept they're bad, can't be their connection imo, because let's be honest, u lose your internet right after the hit? Lol
being dead honest, I play DBD on a laptop and sometimes this does happen. If it's like a Huntress with Thanataphobia, and her hatchets have both exhaustion and mangled add ons, that hit pops 3 status effects on the screen all at the same time, sometimes that causes me to freeze for a few seconds or get disconnected completely
-
So people are mad when survivors are too bold and also mad when they try to be more stealthy........
yikes
-
Do what you do. Just like people are saying "you don't have to play the way survivors want you to play", you also don't have to play the way those people are telling you to play.
When I play killer, I usually do the same unless I need to kill everyone for an achievement or a challenge. I also don't slug often and don't camp and don't tunnel.
Not because it's what survivors want, but because that's the kind of person I am. Also the survivor main in me knows how boring that is to play against.

this a hard counter to stalking as a mechanic im fine with it as an anti stealth perk but to counter the killer's entire power is way over board
"Hi, this is Calm Spirit calling. I would like to talk to you about how I hard counter the Doctor's power moreso than Spine Chill does to Myers or GF."
-
Is this the one where you escape with a rare item?
If so, yes it is possible. I've done all the survivor and killer challenges for the first two levels of the tome.
Or is Level 3 out now and this is something new?
-
I don't do anything that would make the game unfun for the other players. That's my only code.
-
Also I just disagree with the entire premise of your post. You say a survivor perk should not punish the killer for furthering the game. It's not punishing the killer, it's rewarding the survivor.
And if you truly feel that way, do you feel the same about Fire Up? Survivors do their objective and as a result, the killers kicking speed gets faster.
Literally the same thing. The perk design is to boost one side, not punish the other.
-
Here we go with the Soul Guard hype again.
In the past week. 7 days. How many time has someone been picked up in front of you and you tried to hit them and Soul Guard activated? If you say more than 2 or 3, you're probably lying. No one actually uses that perk and it's a crappy perk

The meta isnt changing, not because new perks are all bad. Its because the big meta perks for survivor are SO overwhelmingly good that it makes all new perks seem bad in comparison. "Is this better than DS+Unbreakable? No? Then its trash."
That's your opinion. Again, I run We'll Make It, Borrowed Time, Inner Strength, and a 4th perk slot that I'll alternate between For the People, Lithe, and recently Saboteur.
I don't care about DS or Unbreakable and don't use either. If a perk is good, I will use it as I'm sure many other survivors would also. This idea that survivor mains compare every perk to DS and Unbreakable is just an idea formed in a killer echo chamber that they keep telling themselves. No survivor main has ever said that

Running Visionary and Deja Vu is counter-productive since both do pretty much the same thing, one being better than the other with little difference. Not mentioning after some game experience you learn where all generators are located without needing to see them with Deja Vu and can recognize a 3-gen situation and avoid it.
- Visionary
- Detective's Hunch
- Prove Thyself
- Better Together
How about this perk combo? You can switch Prove Thyself / Better Together with an exhaustion perk or something else. I'd keep Better Together, as it works quite well with the build and maybe switch Prove Thyself, IMO
Also yeah, I have thought of your build before at 5 AM when I was sleeping, I have the build registered HamleEagle™ and will be looking to sue
I think he missed the sarcasm of the OP XD
Either that or I'm not taking the OP seriously enough? *shrug*
-
You'll have ultimate gen knowledge. Hell you can just run those 3 perks and you'll be fine. Someone has to nerf these perks before everyone starts running them together. Too much synergy

Technician - applies its bonus to all survivors within 8m. When failing a skill check, receive a second, harder skill check, as a "second chance". Reduce the noise of the generator itself, and the repair noises of all survivor within 8m by 50%. Technician persists for 15s upon leaving the generator, or when leaving the range.
Distortion - when distortion activates, all survivors within 12m also gain the benefits of distortion.
Solidarity - All survivors within 8m gain the benefits of solidarity. Does not stack. Solidarity can be used with medkits. Persists for 15s after leaving range.
I feel you on the Distortion one. It sucks when you are hidden from BBQ but someone is right beside you so it's wasted because the killer still comes your way
-
Not a common issue. Anyone who plays killer can probably count on one hand the number of times they've been in a lobby and all 4 survivors switched in the last few seconds to a different survivor with items. Hell, even 2 of the 4 survivors switching at the last second.
It just simply does not happen that often to require changing the entire system. Besides, I like to spend that time giving out bloodpoints to other survivors and then switch back to whoever I was planning on using. There's no reason I shouldn't be allowed to do that

The problem is that meta perks are too good. They're so good that the majority of survivors just won't deviate from them unless it's out of boredom (meme builds). The meta stays the same because there's literally no good reason to not use them. New survivor perks would have to blow the old ones out of the water.
That may be true for some but not for everyone. My main build is We'll Make It, Borrowed Time, Inner Strength, and then a random 4th perk. Typically For the People but sometimes I'll switch it out for Lithe or Quick and Quiet.
I don't use DS. I don't use Dead Hard. I don't use Unbreakable. Never have used any of those outside of getting adepts.
Perks just have to be good for me to use. They don't have to be broken but they need to not be trash
-
It's wild that people complain about the current "meta" perks for survivors but are also so opposed to survivors getting new perks that are actually good and usable.
Why do you think the meta isn't changing????
People keep hyping Soul Guard as the best survivor perk survivors got in the last year (it's trash outside of a SWF game with coordination) Inner Strength and For the People are much better. Hell Repressed Alliance is a much better perk playing solo.
Everyone should want new strong perk introduced on both sides. Killers actually got perks this chapter than can become meta and replace current meta perks.
Survivors got ######### and these perks will literally never be meta and will barely get any use so you're just going to see the same things you've seen for years.

Funny how you made a thread about sweaty killers thinking the game is unbalanced unless they get a 4k and somehow people came in and created a full mini-thread about slugging even though that was never mentioned in the OP..... -_-
-
@YaiPa said:
slugging is the one of strongest strategies killers have. It's high risk high reward, when one survivor gets picked up, getting dead hard-ed might cost you the match, imagine what happens when they have soul guard.
tl;dr, it destroys and already fragile strategy such as slugging.
If anyone needs a tl;dr for that, they're just being lazy XD
And I totally understand how strong slugging is because I do main survivor and I know how annoying it is to play against. I still think the perk itself is pretty weak as a survivor and I've never encountered it as a killer because of my playstyle which involves minimal slugging

Its kinda dependant on what killer you play, what mal you get and how good the survivors are.
@4scoreand7skinsago said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1555806#Comment_1555806
Slugging is a balancing act you can very easily alug too much or too little and varies heavily based on the killer and play style, killers like oni are basically forced to slug to get the maximum use out of your power while perks like pop encourage you too hook more often as well if survivors are grouping up often or staying split up most of the game.
Oh I understand all of that. But I still choose not to slug unless I have to and I do just fine for myself. Slugging is a choice, not a requirement.
If slugging was required, I would have never gotten my adepts or reached rank 1
-
@MadLordJack said:
Because slugging is a forced part of gameplay and if the killer isn't snowballing then they ain't winning so you didn't need any perks in the first place.
That's a matter of opinion.
I've gotten every killer adept (which isn't something you stumble into by luck)
I've reached rank 1 as killer (before I stopped playing for months and deranked)
And I've done these things with little to no slugging in most matches. At most, I'll slug if I down someone and there's literally another survivor RIGHT THERE.

@MadLordJack said:

I appreciate your attempt, but in truth there's not a whole lot that the killer can do just by looking at the survivors, as opposed to the survivors looking at the killers, because all killers can see are basic items and skins. On the flip side, the hack that lets survivors see their opponents let's them equip whatever specific perks that will destroy their opponent.
Still, the principle is the same. I was simply using the most broken and one-sided example that came to mind.
If someone can hack to see one side, I'm sure they could hack to see the other as well. Also many people can make adjustments just by the number and type of items they see.
Oh a key? Let me bring an Ebony Mori (people in the forums say this all the time)
Oh 4 toolboxes? Easy Franklins and maybe an Ivory Mori (probably an Ebony though, let's be honest)

The game needs to reward people when their opponent is bringing in stronger items/perks/killers/offerings than their level of preparation. The only thing worse than SWF/Prove Thyself/DS/UB in Haddonfield is both the game and survivors pretending they earned their victory and didn't have every advantage under the sun.
The game needs to reward people when their opponent is bringing in stronger items/perks/killers/add ons/offerings AND are allowed to see their opponents and adjust before the match. The only thing worse than a Freddy/Jump Rope/Swing Chains/Thana/Dying Light/PGTW/Surveillance/Mori on literally any map is both the game and the killer pretending they earned their victory and didn't have every advantage under the sun.

im glad to see people happy about killer perks, im mainly annoyed over people saying this is a robbery for survivors and a bunch of these other dramatic statements. I do get your point of how soul guard doesnt technically counter hexes, however I would say that the existence of soul guard still punishes the usage of hexes.
I'm confused. Isn't Soul Guard the perk that allows you to be put into the mending state if a killer hits you within 4 seconds of you recovering from being downed?
What does that have to do with Hex Perks and how is that a counter? or am I confusing it with another perk?
-
I can definitely see Dragon Grip becoming meta. One of the biggest killer complaints I've seen on the forum for months is survivors being able to just run by a gen that was kicked, tap it and keep running. This perk is a direct counter to that and makes doing so a fatal mistake. 60 seconds of exposure and your location is revealed

I disagree with them being trash.
But I also IMMENSELY disagree with the ludicrous scenario the OP presented.
I’m actually really looking forward to using all of Felix’s perks. They’re going to be very handy for solo play.
That's fair.
I have a bias here mostly because I don't use items unless it's for a challenge and then I already have an altruism build that makes the healing perk unnecessary. Between Borrowed time, We'll Make It, and For the People. I either have instant healing, near instant healing, or I can at least give someone an extra hit
-
The issue isn't that killers got strong perks. I'm glad they did.
The issue is that while giving the killers strong perks, they gave the survivors unusable trash perks that are basically slight upgrades on things that already exist.
Vision - Deja Vu
Whatever the item perk is - I don't use items so.... useless to me. But even if I did, getting extra use out of an item doesn't help all that much with how bad toolboxes got nerfed and with needing 16 charges to heal yourself
Whatever the healing perk is - Botany is actually better and this perk is only good when stacked with other altruism perks making it useless on its own
The best new survivor perk is a C rank at best
-

People are saying that the new killer sucks (perk wise) same as the survivor. Do you like there designs? I personally do, but they seem like a knockoff. We now have a male survivor.
Anyone that says the new killer perks suck is lying very heavily. Even the killers worst perk is still a solid perk.
It looks visually amazing.
I don't play male survivors often unless I have to so I probably won't buy him. All 3 of his perks are literally BS trash. The best one is still worse than Botany Knowledge

why cant you seem to acknowledge how situational it is. that build won't matter if you are hooked, uninjured and doing gens. this is like saying any means neccesary is a great perk because its possible to double stun a killer. you need all 9 planets perfectly aligned on a blue moon night in a leap year to pull that off consistently. instead of being in denial you can try to bounce this idea off of others and flesh it out more because calling people rank 20s when they dont agree with you is pretty lame imo
Pretty much this. I have enough hours and a high enough rank to know when a suggestion is a huge stretch and would only work in very select situations. And then even if you pull it off, congrats???? You healed yourself quickly at the cost of using 3 perk slots and a whole team being one shot
-
When people actually have time to learn the killer and all the different places to bounce off of, I think he actually may have as high a skill ceiling as the Huntress, maybe even higher. It'll be insane on indoor levels too
-
It won't but I might start using it again when I play solo.
-
Lmao, that's a stretch if I've ever seen one.
The whole squad has to be injured and stay injured while you run the strongest med kit WITH botany knowledge AND self care for you situation to work out. The fact that you had to imagine all of those things happening at the same time already makes this idea laughable. Stop trying to make fetch happen
The new survivor perks are trash. all of them XD

lol, it's the only thing that it's good, one counter cleanse when your'e exposed and leave only 3 totem so no noed, btw it's a nice buff to noed
I didn't even think about NOED tbh because I run Inner Strength and there's almost never 3 totems left at the end of a match I'm in.
In order for it to work with NOED, the Undying totem, NOED, and at least one other dull totem would have to be available. That's wild though, yikes

I mentioned that you couldn't effectively avoid old Legion, since he could use killer's instinct to reveal survivors. There was nothing survivors could do against old legion except trying to rush gens faster than he downs them.
It's been a while so I honestly don't remember but did old Killer Instinct work the same way it does now where he needs to get a hit on someone to reveal where everyone is? Or did it just automatically reveal heartbeats without him having to hit anyone?
-
@Quake said:
...after all the changes from smaller maps,no more infinites etc,how about you rework shelter woods?A map where it evens makes BL practically a useless perk...
As legit as your BL complaint is for that level, your title is going to attract nothing but angry killer mains that see an issue with your title instead of reading your post
-
I think you've created a bit of a false equivalent.
For old Legion, you only talk about what happens once you're in a chase (which is you go down). That part is fine.
But then with Spirit, PH, DS, you bring up pre-chase counters which isn't what anyone is talking about. Those pre-chase counters of "just don't get found" (by the way, I love when people say that as if stealth has some kinda god-like mechanic in this game and not getting found is somehow supposed to be an option....), could also technically be applied to old Legion.
But again, we're talking about things that happen once the chase starts and those complaints are legitimate.
Spirit: I don't care about Spirit as much, and I'm fine with her in most chases.
Deathslinger: For how little drawback Deathslinger's power has when he fakes it, they just need to make his terror radius normal size like the Huntress and I'd be okay with him. Maybe. I still hate him
Pyramind Head: Pyramid Head should have some kind of animation stun in between where he lifts his sword out of torment mode and when he can swing. When I say "stun", I don't mean make him immobile. It's fine if he fakes it and then continues to walk. But he shouldn't be able to just immediately swing the way he can now. I guess what I'm looking for is kind of like the old Doctor where if he wanted to hit you after a shock, he had to switch modes. That's how long it should take PH to switch from faking his power to being able to swing
-
Original Legion was a toxic pool of game breaking mechanics that the game has never seen before or since.
That hatred kinda carried over and it's just annoying to play against him and be constantly injured all the time.
Idk what the killer sided hatred is all about, but that's why most survivors hate Legion. They were outright broken upon release and just never stopped being annoying
-
Also Umbra and Queen Kuro for Huntress gameplay
-
The ones who kinda got me into the game were Meeeows and CrunchyEggRollz
Also enjoy watching Cope, Cahla, Tokki, and Smakl

Honestly I've seen so many killers DC in the past week, it's been kinda hilarious. Get their ankles broken for a gen, DC. Get pallet stunned too many times, DC. Ruin breaks in the first 30 seconds, DC.

You can figure it out based on how fast gens are done, whether or not you see survivors appear and try to take protection hots for somebody you're Ina chase with currently, if someone has OoO and another has sprintburst, how coordinated their entire team is, who their friends are on their profile, and what perks they're running.
That's laughably false. I've gotten plenty of gens done quickly while playing solos. I've dropped hooks in front of killers because I run saboteur and can see where the closest hook is. I body block for people all the time if I'm in the area and if I think it's worth taking the hit. U've made coordinated borrowed time saves from a basement with randos. You and your teammates just need to have good game awareness. You don't need to be in a SWF to do any of those things.
-

Ever since crossplay has been added to dead by daylight the game has gotten so incredibly un-fun. I haven't been able to play a single game without getting bullied and getting zero kills because I'm going up against a four man swf on comp. I play console and matches were fine before this. And it would be a different story if you could turn it off and on but the option to do this doesn't work! So I'm stuck getting legacy survivors that have 10,000 hours in the game and do five gens in less than 3 minuets. Please remove the computer side of crossplay as it makes games for console players unwinnable and makes the game unbalanced.
I've gotten pretty much nothing but 4ks and move from rank 17 to rank 8 in literally a matter of days, get nothing but 3ks and 4ks.
I think it's time to evaluate your own ability level

Or consider this..... no one talks about her anymore because she's fine and still the most powerful character in the game as long as you know how to control her well

On a side note excessive stealthing forces the killer to go after the same survivors multiple times as the killer literally has no other target if someone stealthes around all game.
Everyone has to pull their weights (including chases).
Exactly, if someone is being chased on their death hook and you haven't been touched yet, you're holding the team back. You taking the heat can keep it a 4 v 1 vs letting that person die and making it a 3 v 1
-
Stealthing is not an issue until you go overboard with it and don't help the team because you're too busy trying not to be seen.
-
Pretty sure it specifies the killers aura reading in the description. I don't have it up right now, but my memory says it specifies killer aura reading
