This has honestly been explained so many times since they attempted the MMR system and created the killer lock.
Survivors switching characters is irrelevant. My Feng, my Claudette, and my Jane are all P3 every perk in the game maxed out so regardless of who I switch to, they're all the same and there will be no difference in my gameplay.
A killer however may be much better with one killer than a different killer. So it wouldn't be fair to load in with a killer you suck at (let's say Clown) and then when the game gives you easy opponents, you switch over to your main (let's say Pig) and steam roll the team.
Is there anything not clear about that?
-
Also I don't know if this comes from advice or just people playing scared all the time, but I really wish people wouldn't try to run halfway across the galaxy when you pull them off a hook and then expect you to heal them way over there.
I used to follow them but now I don't anymore. This is especially annoying because I run We'll Make It on every character who has the perk unlocked and the game tells you that I have We'll Make It when I pull them. All the time people spend running from the hook when the killer is nowhere near, I could have been done healing them and both us of could be back on an objective.
Unless there's an immediate threat or the killer is on the way back and can get there quickly, just stand still and let people heal you
-
Definitely have to second the whole "just play injured thing" being terrible advice
If you're playing against a stealth killer, you're pretty much making yourself an easy down by not healing. The only exception is if you bring Iron Will and Spine Chill to know when they're coming but then that's 2 whole perk slots you have to dedicate to your "just play injured" playstyle
Even if it's not a stealth killer though, you have to be an amazing looper to only play with one hit in a chase which is not a skill everyone has.

Your justice is that survivors actually have no good ultra rare anything. XD
Brand New Part - nerfed twice (maybe 3 times? I forget)
Syringe - Nerfed, now useless
Odd bulb - Useless. Only works if you know the flashlight timing and even then, you can just use any add on for the same effect

They do, usually farmed or over altruistic where everyone is coming lol. I want to guess ruin, but if they were both on the same gen then one could have easily saved... I don't think this is a console problem. You just got your average potato squad
Nah there was actually no Ruin. That would've made a little more sense but nah. They just really wanted gens done and would not sacrifice any time to do anything else.
Killer ended up having NOED also which didn't really affect much because they tunneled me and I had d strike so it worked out. But lord, I've never had so many games of people not even attempting saves.

Although still sometimes it won't activate within the terror radius. One time a deathslinger tunneled my friend when the exit gates were open
Deathslingers terror radius is stupid small and he even has an add on to eliminate it completely when he has his gun aimed so there's times he can literally be in the same room as you and you'll still be outside his terror radius because bs

In fact, the devs should just make it to where the survivors automatically start the match in dying state.
With all perks, especially Unbreakable disabled for 5 minutes

uh, what
what's the point of multiple stabs if deep wounds is gone?
I'm pretty sure they just wanted to be able to chase you and hit you 2 times back to back and down you with Fatal Frenzy XD
-
Totally perfect post. They should also make it a 20% chance of tripping while in chase. And if you twist your ankle, you have to walk the rest of the match.
-
This person would not have been able to play when Exhaustion recovered while running and the perk was actually usable every 40 seconds XD

Good survivors mostly use it to extend loops and erase their mistakes.
It is broken.
If you mean broken as in, it doesn't work, then sure
-
@Talmeer said:
I don't see there a problem.
Delete dw, since it annoys survivors anyways and give him the abilitie back to stab multiple times in frenzy, still with all the nerfs that the Legion has today on it.
And vola - problem solved.
Not optimal, but the best old Legion mains can get and survivors whould not need to play mending simulator anymore. That's a win-win-situation for everyone.
Ummmm that's not a win-win at all. You want to give them the ability to stab multiple times while sprinting but with no deep wounds. So he can literally hit the same survivor twice and get a down easily in like 20 seconds or less.
That would make him pretty much the strongest killer in the game if I'm understanding that correctly

Her entire pack of perks are very much gamebreakers the way they can be exploited.
Not saying there is no counter to them, but they are most easily exploited.
And I cannot name any other perk that could. There are some easily exploited, but on on such a regular and universal base as OoO, DS and Sole
Infectious Fright is and always will be my biggest game breaker. It's powerful on any killer but it's just plain stupid on killers with one shot tools (Bubba, Billy, Myers, Oni, Ghostface to an extent) and killers with high mobility who can switch targets quickly (Nurse, Spirit)
The game goes from trying to stealth around players who are being chased while working on gens and totems, to "let me make sure I'm nowhere near the killers terror radius when someone goes down even if the killer has no idea I'm here"

Your argument would sound less silly if I hadn't seen DS used regardless of how I play my killers. Or are you saying that when I play killer I am not allowed anymore to hit a survivor who just got unhooked and ran into me face first (i wasn't going after them)
No of course you're allowed to. I don't make a habit of telling people how they can and can't play. But then if you pick them up and get hit by DS instead of going after 3 other people, is that not the fault of the killer player in that situation? That was my only point.
-
- you can opt out.
- This is one of the most balanced matches I've seen in a long time in this game. What exactly is your complaint here? You have everyone between rank 1-5 (and it's kinda cool that the points are in order by highest rank, but that's a side note)
- How exactly would they go about only disabling cross play for people playing solo queue?
-
Survivor, no.
Killer, yes.
I've seen it happen twice where my friend got stuck in the hill and could not get out until the killer came over and downed her, but then the killer got stuck and my friend got out.
The killer was able to escape the hill on their own like 30 seconds later.
-
So you not only want to be able to carry for extra distance which is a hard counter to hook sabotage and body blocking, but then you want the perk to ALSO counter 1 specific perk that wouldn't get used if you went after the 3 other people on the map?
-

Counter play to Myers in Tier-3? Same as fighting guys with Chainsaws. Loop, coordinate, and get the heck out of dodge. That is really the long and the short of it. Tier-3 Myers is simply a Killer that can down you with one hit. He is hardly the only one around that does that. Don't feed him with his obsession unless you want him up to 130% speed. Treat him JUST like a chainsaw wielding maniac.
I agree with everything you said. I was just pointing how unhelpful everyone's advice was to the OP.
-
So OP asked about counter play for a Myers who is ALREADY in tier 3 and of course the non reading people of the forums are jumping in and talking about avoiding being stalked and how slow Myers is at the start when that isn't the point....
-
If you can also get there and pick them up, it's not an exploit. A waste of your time at best
-
Because none of the complaints actually hold any weight. Pretty simple answer
I play killer as well as survivor and rarely get hit by DS. When I do, it's because I want to eat the DS on purpose to get it out the way and that's rare because I make it a point to not tunnel, even if it means leaving the match with a 2k or 3k.
I've also gotten plenty of 4ks and every adept killer achievement without tunneling so.... DS is really mainly an issue for people who tunnel.
And all this "it's 60 seconds of invincibility" nonsense is a blatant lie. The person who was unhooked can still be slugged. If you have a Mori, they can be Mori'd. If you're playing PH, they can be sent to a cage. Or you can simply force them to use the perk if you feel you have to go after that person instead of the 3 other people on the map. Either way, there's no invincibility. DS simply means that for those 60 seconds, they cannot be picked up and placed back on a hook and I think 60 second grace period is perfectly fine. I personally would use that time to heal but if they want to hop on gens, that's their perogative.
-
I'm just here to take notes on who claims it's okay to for a killer to DC because they don't like a map in case I see their names pop up in other threads saying that there's never a reason for a survivor to DC
-
Even as a survivor main, I know this does not work and is not a good idea.
- Camping is sometimes necessary (end game especially)
- If someone is being chased around the hook, the killer isn't necessarily camping
-

Im mostly play hag Myers Wraith and Doctor. Im play on Nintendo switch what perks you say? For Hag spies from shadow, devour hope, hex ruin and derrstalker For Wraith Predator, bloodhound, deerstalker and bitter murmur. for Myers Save the best for last, bitter murmur, deerstalker and spies from shadow. And for doctor Overcharge, sloppy butcher and deerstalker
- You're not garbage.
You said you play on the Nintendo Switch, which I remember was the very last system to get DBD which probably means you have a lot less hours in the game that most of the people you're going up against. There's probably also a very small group of people you've played against on the switch so reaching red ranks was probably easier.
Also based on the perks you run, it sounds like you have issues tracking people which I guess just comes with time. But you really shouldn't need Predator, Bloodhound, Deerstalker, and Bitter Murmur on you Wraith. Wraith has a built in Bloodhound when he's invisible and 4 tracking perks is overkill unless you're really bad at keeping up in a chase. Switch 3 of those out for other perks.
In fact I'd argue deerstalker is never needed unless you make a habit of slugging a lot but you seem to have it on all of your characters. Idk if that's because you don't have anything else to equip or if it's because you can't find people after you leave them on the floor. Either way. I promise there's better perks out there.
-
Lol come on, you know what it means to be sweaty in a game.
No one in the history of ever has said "Oh if you try to win as killer/survivor, you're sweaty". No one says that.
It's HOW you go about trying to win and many other variables in the match.
Scenario A: The match starts and a survivor DCs immediately before any gens even get started so it's 3 v 1. The killer decided to slug and camp people. Already, that's sweaty because the survivors are already in a no win situation. Sweaty af
Scenario B: All 4 survivors coordinate before the match to bring the Purple offering to increase the distance between hooks and then also bring in 4 tooboxes with Brand New Parts OR add ons to help with sabo. Sweaty
It has nothing to do with trying to win as much as it is trying unnecessarily hard or giving yourself way too many advantages than you need
-
Claudette is sharing her secrets with other survivors.
-
So..... okay let's do this.
- Survivors get these kinds of challenges too and I don't see you complaining about that.
- No you actually don't have to use a full build of meta perks to win a match.
- Even if you don't "win" the match (getting a 2k is still a win btw because that's where the game is supposed to be balanced and if you can't do that, I don't know what to say) SO WHAT, it's just one match using that perk. You'll be fine.
- The game should be encouraging players to divulge from the meta to actually use other perks in the game instead of going into every match expecting the killer to be running Corrupt, Pop, BBQ, Ruin, NOED, Discordance. Like I enjoy the fact that I see a lot of killers running Surveillance when I reach the post game because that used to be not meta and it's becoming meta now but it's still rare enough that I get surprised to see it
-
Ultra altruistic survivor main here XD
-
So you want a Tier 1 Myers running at 115% speed with a Chainsaw. Because that's what Billy and Bubba would 100% use every match if this were to happen
I know you're trolling but lol, absolutely not

90% of toxicity in games and in messages come from survivors
your 90% statistic is 100% false
-
Want to know a secret? It ain't just the survivors who are toxic in this game.
-
I'm guessing they DCd because you were playing a hardcore basement game?
Not saying that justifies them DCing, I'm just guessing that's the reason.
-
If she got 18k BP with 4 gens still up, she definitely had to have done something. Hell she was probably carrying the team considering 2 people DCd and the one who died had 8k.
As far as someone DCing so someone else can get hatch, that clearly didn't happen in this match because according to your screenshot, there was someone on hook still after the 2 people had DCd. Hatch wasn't even spawned at that point so she just got lucky with the RNG god/goddess
-
I have a friend who only plays killer to get tome challenges done but she won't kill anyone. Like flat out refuses to kill anyone because she thinks it's mean. She's the sweetest most innocent little bean.
Though I don't know what she's going to do when she gets to a challenge that requires kills. She probably won't do it to be honest.
Personally I think it makes the game boring if it happens too often. I'll definitely take a farming killer once in a while. It's good to have a break from playing like a try hard but if it's multiple games in the same session, then I'm like.... get me out of this match pls

You Have to ask why people are playing survivor more when this is the killers game. Why don't people wanna play ph Michael and the other killers? I mean when the ruin nerf went live i had nearly instant ques as killler and 10-15 minute ques as survivor. So it could come down to balance we don't know.
Well speaking for myself, I have more fun dodging and juking the person with the power than wielding the power. Going around killing people who can't do anything to me isn't really fun for me.

the que time right now is ridiculous than ever.
not only red rank killer but also yellow rank killer right now has que time within 3 sec.
meanwhile survivor need to wait 10 to 20 mins to find a lobby.
and it is even a 1 vs 4 game lol.
I think this difference in the number of player base should clearly indicate how unbalanced the game is now.
so I can expect a really big huge buff for killer's is in coming right?
or
should we let the friendly sleeping bing bong boy be great again?
Ummmm, your post makes no sense.
You want a killer buff because killers get instance lobbies??? That just means more people are playing survivor. That has nothing to do with strength

That or smacking gens. Although I trust that less because I'm scared they're going to grab me off the gen. Although I usually let them anyway because I know grabs were bugged for a while and it was hard to get those challenges done.

Before I came to this game a couple years ago, I heard all the usual horror stories of toxicity and I just laughed it off thinking there was no way it was as bad as people claimed. My god I wish I could go back to those innocent days. I received constant toxic messages on my Xbox profile for weeks after some matches, received death threats, slander, etc. I couldn't beleive how low people were willing to go over a game. I switched over to PS4 a few months back and my friend claimed it was much better than Xbox, but nope, the same again. I shouldn't have to make my profile private on PS4 or Xbox just to avoid people like this, since I've met some good people in the game, and others, but because of DbD and the absolute toxic salt you receive, I feel like the second your profile becomes public, you're just placing a target on yourself. I mean, there's always toxicness in any game, but DbD seems to go to levels beyond extreme.
That's why I keep TTV in my name when I'm live. Because I've actually made some of my amazing friends through having people come to my channel or by going to theirs.
But then you get people like I had last night and it's just like..... why are you like this???

DS would be fine if you couldn't do gens without losing it.
Sigh... here we go. I'm not getting into another one of those ridiculous arguments where people put stipulations on things that are made up and arbitrary.
DS is there to prevent you from being re-hooked within 60 seconds. What a person chooses to do with those 60 seconds is up to them and they shouldn't be limited in what they can do. You can feel differently which I'm sure you do, but that's my opinion and I'm not getting into a back and forth about it.
-
I sidetracked a little on my comment there ^
but the point is, the game is pretty balanced. People just like to complain about "problems" that they create with their own play styles
-
@SonicOffline said:
Legit, real question. I honestly haven't seen any actual, legitimate answer to this. Essentially 100% of it I've seen so far on the forums is people crying about very specific scenarios and how they got caught while doing it.
The game is pretty balanced overall.
There's just a toxic meta cycle where killers tunnel, slug, and camp and then survivors complain about it and then run unbreakable and d-strike to counter those things and then killers complain about those two things not understanding somehow that camping, slugging, and tunneling leads more survivors to equip those things.
I literally just finished up a session where two games in a row, I left the game with less than 4k points because the killer came back to hook immediately (Spirit) and knocked me down and rehooked me. I don't run dstrike so of course they take advantage of this and come back and do it again on my last hook because they know there's nothing I can do about it.
-
It's not the only one that needs an add on. Micheal Has that one where you hae to use the Infinite Tier 3 with the Tombstone
(or maybe i guess you can just do the tombstone piece and get 4 separate tier 3s but that would be harder)
-
Hint: Unbreakable literally can't be used if you pick people up and hook them :)
Pressing the space bar button hard counters the perk. Fun fact

So invulnerability? If your downed no progress towards you dying is made only hooking progresses that sure you being slugged slows down the game but it doesn't make you closer towards death therefore making you invulnerable and impossible to hook during those 60 seconds.
@NekoGamerX said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1529265#Comment_1529265
yeah your invulnerability to the hook.
No.
You can still be Morid, caged, slugged, the killer can just decide to pick up the survivor and eat the DS instead of crying about it (because that's usually the best play unless it's endgame)
Then while that person is slugged or whatever, the killer can pressure the survivor who did the rescuing (and actually let the other person play the game but why care about other people's fun, right? XD)
There's plenty of options but none of them involve the survivor becoming untouchable or invulnerable
