Well that seems kind of dumb . So basically I will pip if I hide in lockers all match doing nothing over actually doing something
Not exactly, by doing certain objectives you get points and you need to do them multiple times to get enough of these points. You cant heal one survivor and expect max points you gotta do it multiple times.
To get near perfect games you need to
- (As a survivor) Complete multiple gens, stay alive in the game for 9+ min and dont get downed at all, unhook/heal survivors multiple times, get into and win a chase multiple times (the longer the chase the better).
- (As a killer) Sacrifice all survivors with no gens complete, hook each survivor 3 times (for a total of 9 hooks), get into and end a chase as quickly as possible multiple times, and do not let survivors heal.
-
You pip by building up points which can only be done by delaying the game, if you do too well you will be punished.
-
Most of the games i dont notice any difference and i dont really hate dedi servers. But the thing that i want fixed the most is how impossible it is to grab survivors off of gens, ect.
-
If its any consolation it probably wont be for a long time, they are working on Doc right now. Though my money is survivors will start mass complaining about Forever Freddy or Plague.
-
Tbh before i bought the game i was under the impression thats how it worked. While im fine ether way my only problem would be that you would only see like 5 survivors for most o your matches.
You guys think "I only see Lauries in high ranks, its so boring!" would be a valid complaint on forums?

The patch updated the shrine. Ruin was on the shrine for around 3 days then the patch changed it for the rest of the week and now shrine was updated again, back to its regular thing. Worst part is because Switch users didnt get the patch they lost their only chance at BBQ&Chili.
From a quick search Ruin appeared in the shrine 9 weeks ago, so while we have no idea when its going to pop up i would wager ~9 weeks more.

We can agree that while some killers have a lower skill ceiling than survivors and some have a higher one.
In general though i believe most killers have a higher skill ceiling with the exception of SwF. SwF opens up a lot of options with coms and the amount of plays you can do if you are good enough is scary.
-
Dunno ive switched to the Switch since i like playing handheld but its not released yet so i can avoid the burnout. I guess its the silver lining with the Switch being the unwanted child of the franchise.
-
Cant tell, its not out on switch yet except the outfits in the store you can buy with cash. But ill keep you updated on how it feels when its released.
-
You cant make Spirit counterable without nerfing her. If by some miracle they can successfully change her to make counterplay possible but keep her at her current viability the nerf threads wont stop
-
I like the stress of killer. When the match is in full swing and you have to juggle survivors/gens, predict the survivor your currently chasing to end their looping quickly all while a gen is completed across the map. I live off that, especially when i finally get complete control of the match.
Though i dont mind the chill hunts, when a survivor DCs while there is still 4-5 gens left and the others are troopers that think they acually stand a chance.
-
If the build he recommends is horrible the fans will try it once and stop, if you keep seeing play that means he is onto something. Besides let people play how they want, if someone wants to run bamboozle Nurse, go for it.

Freddy and Billy won't be touched, Freddy just got reworked so it would be silly to touch him again and as for Billy he's pretty fair, he can still be looped and he only punishes survivors for getting greedy a good survivor that knows when to drop the pallet and utilise the jungle gyms can turn Billy into M1 killer. So there you go, only spirit needs to be looked at.
I wonder about that, call it a hunch but i have a feeling should Spirit get nerfed survivors wont go "Well now we can enjoy the game in peace" but rather move onto another killer they have an issue with.

Darn, guess you know me better than I know myself, then. /s
"See, what we don't like about Spirit is--"
"IT'S BECAUSE YOU REFUSE TO GET GIT GUD!"
It's going to be funny when Spirit gets completely nerfed not because the people complaining about her, but because of the people defending her saying the people complaining about her want her nerfed.
I guess i do know you better than you know yourself, then.
Im also not saying anything about OP wanting a nerf (aside from the slippy slope thing i mentioned) im pointing out that we are finally moving past the mindgames/beads excuse and finally moving onto the real reason, which is her domination at 1v1s. Which is about time if we want a genuine conversation about Spirit, not just generic complaints from survivors and 'get gud' from killers.
My personal opinion on the matter is unless Spirit gets a fairly sizable rework there is no way to get her to a level that survivors will accept without huge nerfs. I genuinely dont believe her mindgames/beads are the problem (if you couldnt tell lol) its that during a chase her invisibility and huge speed boost is very very hard to deal with. Survivors like being in control of the match and Spirit doesnt let them.
@Lufanati I wouldnt mind raising Spirit's skill cap but i feel like the devs will just remove beads and nerf her. Also quick question, should Spirit get nerfed do you believe survivors will stop complaining about killers or not?

I really tried hard to not make this another ‘Survivors vs. Killers’ meme. Seems lien that’s where it‘a going though.
Guess not but i do appreciate you giving the real reason instead of side stepping with "Spirit OP cuz prayer beads!" We are now one step closer to a real conversation, neat.

She’s not the only one that dominates chases, though. She’s the only one that does so without giving the survivors an opportunity for counter play. You’re not going to loop a good Huntress; but you might be able to bait a couple missed hatches. You’re not going to run loops of Freddy; but you can avoid the dream snares. Billy is eventually going to get Spirit Fury and be able to run up your back for a saw; but you can mind game him at a T L to avoid it.
My bad quoted the wrong thing so i edited the post. We know Spirit is the only killer that has the clear advantage in a 1v1, its nice that people are finally dropping the mindgames/beads BS and moving onto the real reason.
Survivors want to be able to 1v1 killers while killers dont want 4 survivors to be able to 1v1 them. Thats the root of the issue and the devs will side with survivors.
-
"The reason she is disliked is because THERE IS NO LEGITIMATE COUNTERPLAY TO HER POWER."
We already know the reason survivors complain about Spirit is that she is the only killer that cant be 1v1'd and consistently dominates in chases. After she gets nerfed its off to Freddy because he is the only killer that can slow the game down so much, after he gets nerfed its off to Billy because he is the only killer that can pressure gens so well, after he gets nerfed its off to...
That being said its nice that survivors are finally starting to say it instead of the usual mindgames/beads BS.
-
Make it a comedy where all the survivors are yelling at each other, tea bagging the killer and complaining about Ruin. Have the climax be all survivors escaped except one, so the other 3 run back to try and rescue him only to be all hooked after a scooby doo chase montage.
I would watch that.
-
Her mind games are not the problem, its just an easy thing to complain about. The real "problem" is that she is very good at ending chases. Spirit's amazing speed and invisibility during the chase are what gets people, not the mind games.
From what i see most use of Spirit's power revolve around hunting down someone who is running away. Indications arent a problem since the survivor already knows the Spirit is phasing at them and you arent going to see grass rustle during the heat of the moment.
A pallet stand off or gen grabber are the extreme minority of kills
-
We want shirtless Myers and we got pantsless Myers. We want bunnyhood Feng and we will get playboy bunny Feng.
Calling it now, our devs like gong the extra mile for us.

Complaining about detective's hunch now? Why?
It got buffed in this update, when a gen is completed (you or someone else) all gens and totems are revealed for a few seconds. You can use this to find Hex:Ruin and gens, its even more effective playing with friends because you can communicate where the locations are to your friends.
-
I can kind of see their point though, you want something for the casuals but also something for the hardcore players. I dont consider myself a hardcore player but i dont mind some content thats essentially exclusive for hardcore players.
For all the people that consider themselves hardcore would you consider the challenge of sacrificing all 4 in the basement in 1 match good or is that too much/toxic?

Shouldn't killers have the advantage in a 1v1?
Yea but survivors dont like that. Most have an expectation to be able to 1v1 the killer with a high enough skill (or delay their down for a large amount of time), and the killers that have the clear advantage get 3 second cooldowns put on their Blinks.
They want to rework/nerf her due to her overperforming but the only reason she is, is because she is one of the only killers capable of ending chases quickly. Buff the low rank killers to the level of Spirit and you will quickly see she goes down in play but that wont happen due to the amount of work needed and the increase inn complaints from people.
-
The problem isnt her luck based mind games or Beads (even though thats what most people say) its that Spirit is very good at chases in general and while this isnt highlighted as much compared to her mind games i would say its definitely the real reason why survivors dislike her, a good survivor is mostly helpless in a 1v1.
I can only see hard nerfs as a way to fix her "overperforming"
-
Thanks for the tag, so Spirit is going to be nerfed/reworked in the far future.
Since the supposed problem is her luck based mind games i wonder how they will change it, giving an indication when she is phasing wont do any good because Spirits can just phase and do nothing. I can only see hard nerfs as a solution to fix her "overperforming"
-
The skill ceiling on Nurse is now higher, god tier Nurses will still be god tier but the average (or god forbid the newbie) Nurse will be easier to play against.
Its still to early to tell but i think Gen Grab Spirit might be stronger than Nurse now.
-
The time it takes to use it and the time when its useful to use make it too situational.
-
Its because you get rewarded points for how active you are, killer by nature is the most active role in the game and if a survivor spends 90% of the match crouch walking around the outer edges of the map its only natural they wont get much.
-
Giving us an explanation for what the problem was and the release. Dev team, you guys are great.
-
- Hit the rescuer during the unhooking animation
- Down the unhooked when my cooldown is done and leave them slugged
- Go after and down>hook the rescuer
This is usually the system i go by with alterations depending on the circumstances, by far the best thing as a killer for me is when an already injured survivor that ive been chasing goes genius mode and thinks "Instead of looping the killer lets unhook someone" and goes out of their way to run to a hooked survivor, when i see this happening i let them as it make things easier for me in the long run.
From a killer main, thank you potato survivors.
-
Use a perk like Ruin or Corrupt Intervention that gives you pressure at the very start
Avoid chasing a single survivor for a long time, if they are running you in circles for forever its ok to break away and look for someone else. Understand that when you are chasing someone in a SwF the other 3 know you are not going after them and know your location. These are the moments gens are going to be rushed, hard.
End chases as quickly as possible (yes this means some killers that are bad at ending chases quickly will get screwed over by SwF nearly all the time, welcome to dbd)
SwF want to escape together, this means they will always come to save their friend whether this means unhooking them or healing. Camping the hook or Nurse's Calling are good perks for this reason.
And finally, good SwF that focus on gen rushing will win a lot of time even if you play perfectly, nothing you can do unless your Freddy, Spirit, Billy and Nurse.
-
Crouch behind a rock 10 feet away for a half minute to make sure the killer really is gone or unhook the survivor when the killer is 10 feet away. There is no in between.

Though from comments I got postgame from survivors after using those addons, the effect is not very noticable from what they said.
Would need someone to test it out in KYF to get some hard data though.
I believe the hard data in regards to Spirit's passive phasing is:
- Base Phasing: It activates randomly every 0 to 5 sec where Spirit will then spazz out for a duration of 0.5 sec
- Juniper Bonsai reduces the time it takes to activate by 1 second
- Dried Cherry Blossom reduces the time it takes to activate by 1 second and increases the duration Spirit spazzes out by 50%
So if you use Juniper Bonsai and Dried Cherry Blossom Spirit will activate passive phasing randomly every 0 to 3 seconds for a duration of 0.75 seconds.
-
Here is a youtube video showing Spirits regular passive phasing and passive phasing maxed out with add ons.
https://youtu.be/Y-HLfNwIg4Q -
Its not that difficult to escape the killer at end game and if a team gets wiped by a NOED killer when all they needed to do is open the gates then that tells you more about the survivors than the killer.
But i find the perk balanced. NOED is dead weight until end game and a perk that makes you play 99% of the match without should be strong enough to justify the 1% time it activates.

I like that pic, i also wouldnt mind a onesie.

the exhaustion is a thing... the solvent jug...
I meant as a base kit effect, the current gas is not dangerous enough. I have never seen an experienced survivor take the gas seriously, its something they just tolerate while running the loops.
-
I like the idea of teleportifying 3-5 lockers, give him something like Freddy's gen teleportation.
I have always wanted Clown's gas to give the exhaustion effect while the survivor is in the cloud and 2 seconds after.
-
Nah its not ban worthy, and its not even the worst thing imo, the worst is when you know all the survivors are at the exit and could escape but dont, because they are all healing/waiting for you.
If im running an insta down of some sort i can get some of them because they dont get close enough to the exit for the hit to knock them out. As a Spirit if they are injured and just standing still/waiting for me to do something i phase behind them and knock them down then hook. It doesnt happen often but when survivors misjudge how far away they need to be and get hooked as a result, its amazing.
-
As a killer suicides are the better alternative, 4 skulls looks better and i dont risk a d/c chain.
But i am curious, how many do you think do it as a way to d/c and how many do it to try and get that sweet sweet 4%? Ive always assumed the majority are just trying to get lucky.
-
Ive always liked the idea of letting Bubba chainsaw swing through pallets and keep going. It wont make him one of the best killers but it will help a lot.
-
How many people acually hide for the duration of CI though? I personally have never experienced people doing it, maybe 1 hides while the other 3 do gens but thats even better.
I like using CI because its more reliable. I combine it with Surveillance, Sloppy/PGTW and Thana. If you tag the 4 gens you can take control the game for the first 2 minutes and by then you have enough pressure to keep things going.
-
I think they are fine, I would say flashlight is one of the weaker items and if you are willing to not use medkit/toolbox and have the skill to use it properly then as a killer, i respect that.
-
Killer in the newbie ranks but survivors in the higher ranks.
The power of the survivor is that you have a team (as well as second chance perks). A good survivor in a team of potatoes will not win against the killer but a good survivor in a team of good survivors will always win against the killer with the exception of Spirit and Nurse, exactly why people want Spirit/Nurse nerfs

What if when the killer is next to you and your in dying state the timer didnt go down? Its so annoying and unfun to be tunneled and then DS be renedered usless cuz the killer is to afraid of a one time use DS and slugs for 1 minute. It literally wastes an entire perk slot.
I almost never see killers camping a slug. They usually slug then move onto other survivors. When i slug a potential DS i move onto the other survivors, if no one heals them then i come back and hook and if someone does heal them thats fine since that act itself slows the game down. I can then down/hook the slug again without fear.
If im in a dead area i dont mind taking a DS since its easy to down them again, but if they are next to a hundred pallets then on the ground they stay.
-
Yea as a killer it gets annoying especially since it most often happens because they want to screw me out of points. Although i do admit when i play as a killer a occasional d/c is a guilty pleasure. After all, 3 survivors rarely put up much of a fight.
"Oh, someone D/c'd i guess now its time to have some fun since the game is on EZ mode."
-
Its valid, if i notice a killer tunneling someone i just start gen rushing.
I try not to tunnel all the time as a killer. But if your friend decides to un hook someone a foot away from me I see no reason not to down the un hooked survivor. Or if i hook someone and i see the other 3 survivors all near dont blame me for 'camping' while i go around injuring everyone.
-
People say nerf Spirit because Nurse was nerfed and now she is top un nerfed killer. Thats it really.
I never understood the logic of survivors wanting to 1v1 the killers, there is 4 of you.

How can they know when they'll be fixed without data to work from? Lol.
And if they gave an estimate a significant number of players would leave until the estimated date. Which would give false data. And when the date came the servers may not be able to handle the stress because they got inaccurate data because of a lower player count.
Just, have some patience my dude.
Thats the problem isnt it? Like i said in my original post in order to better the experience they need to inadvertently make it temporarily worse. Im wondering where the tipping point is. Is there a point in time where subjecting everyone to dedi servers just isnt worth it anymore?
I would be more forgiving if they just talked to us more, i dislike being kept in the dark about something that impacts game play this much. Some dates or updates on what they are doing would be appreciated.
