I don’t get the hate. I think I would love this map as both sides.
As survivor the maze of hallways keeps the terror radius scary, but there’s still tons of safety and the map is big enough you won’t be inside the terror radius the whole time. Balanced landing on this map sounds sooo good, along with most other stealth perks.
For killer, you get god tier totems and pretty chaotic chases with people randomly running into you. There’s definitely some really strong 3 gens you can do as well. Ruin Undying will probably stay up the entire match if the survivors don’t have totem perks.
Overall I think it will be great if you are offering it. Getting it with a random build could be really rough for killer though.
There's literally an infinite

You people that DC are part of the problem. Just stop doing it, it ruins the game for everyone.
I mean, I don't support DC'ing, but if someone brings the Killer to Haddonfield or RPD, I wouldn't blame them if they closed the game during the loading screen.

Not spending any money until the game is fixed.

Absolutely bring it back. Was playing a game where things were going perfectly smoothly, a player disconnects on her first down and then we all die because of it. I hate early DCs as both survivors and Killer.
That doesn't mean their game was running smoothly.

I agree but I find it funny how it’s been this way for one day and killers are freaking out, when survivors have been through it for years. The role reverse is a nice change.
Meh.
Wrong is wrong.

I'm sorry what. Free downs as Trickster? Shack is easy?
Are we playing the same game? The shack is is his worst enemy just like any high wall. Basically any wall you can't throw over makes him so easy to loop. You must have been playing against some clueless survivors. He sucks and is boring to face with no real counterplay.
They were average Red Ranks.
So yeah, pretty clueless.

Not my fault you don't understand what I'm saying. My problem was never about him sucking. That's the least of my problems. Would I want him too be strong? Of course. But that's not what I'm talking about. My problem is the accuracy to the RE3R with his power. He doesn't feel like Nemesis. Oni is Nemesis.
Oh, I understood. I just did the exact same thing you did and I didn't clarify what I meant.
Almost every single post you make is about Nemesis and how much you hate him.
RE3 Nemesis wouldn't work in DBD. The one we have now BARELY works.

Here's the bottom line as I see it now:
Game performance better than after Nemmy and the two patcjed after that, yeah.
Game performance better than before the last chapter, no and we've actually slipped further back while adding a few new bugs as well.
Very hard not to feel disappointed and left to wither away
For me at least, it only really seems like Dead Hard and some powers have stopped freezing.
Whatever was causing them to freeze is still there.
-
Is anyone else kinda annoyed with this?
We get it. You don't like Nemesis.
How about you constructively show how to make him better, instead of spamming how much he sucks?

What do you mean, he is like old legion you said. he has no counter-play and should be 100% auto winning every chase without any effort with an easy 4k.
Oh right, the controller guy that has barely/never trickster with comments on trickster balance. of course
And again, I question whether or not you read my comments at all.
I very clearly said he Isn't OP.
He's unhealthy. The difference between him and Old Legion is that there isn't an exploit to make him good.
-
I've found that it is exceedingly difficult as well.
Barrel-stuffing them seems to work decently well. Also, whenever they are locked into an animation.

@Customapple0 said:
I love the map too, as it’s pretty much like the RPD in RE2 but I can see why it can be unfair for some killers.
For example the east office has a window that’s pretty much an “infinite” if run the right way. The observation/interrogation room window is also pretty safe which allows you to waste the killer’s time.
It's an infinite on most Killers, so far as I can tell.
I dared to play Huntress the other day, and let me tell you, you will never catch up at that loop.

People just say "he's like old Legion" despite there being zero similarity aside from high frequency stabbing and being 110.
He is, in a manner of speaking.
They both offer very limited counterplay during a chase. Made a Legion whiff? No worries, he can still swing with zero penalty.
Made a Trickster miss his knives? No worries, he's got plenty more.
It doesn't matter how much better you are than them, you will go down, albeit slowly.
The real difference is that Trickster doesn't have an exploit that boosts him from D-tier to S-tier like Legion did.

Respectfully, did you read the line when I said "He's not overpowered."

@Mulrian said:

Nope. Not at all.
Just because Scott said it doesn't make it true.
He's the exact opposite of old Legion.
Old Legion would down any survivor, regardless of skill, in 30 seconds with a 2x stab into a moonwalk.
His damage was unavoidable and would doom the survivor to a predetermined fate regardless of mistakes.
Trickster bullies bad survivors and gets bullied by decent ones.
Run a low tile or go in the open and you die instantly. Run shack decently and you will literally never take damage.
That's literally untrue. You can easily land 4 knives on someone if they go for the window, more if they fake it. You can easily damage people if you predict the pallet throw too.
Also, how dare I happen to share an opinion with someone?

Then you've played against trash survivors. It is way more difficult and longer to get any health state in those situations than it is by playing Huntress. Yes, I unironically compared Trickster and Huntress in matches. Huntress is not only more effective, but easier.
Maybe.
But at this point in my career, I'd say they were average.

"He offers no counterplay during a chase. You cannot outplay him in a meaningful or punishing way."
Is this based on his power in practice, or are you just basing this off of the theory of how his power works?
I've found that the new laceration decay has given him more than enough meaningful counterplay (can feel like more than before, at times), as breaking LOS and making distance is extremely effective with lacerations decaying extremely fast in seconds, wasting a ton of his time. I haven't had any problem against new Trickster as long as I'm not in the open. Yet to see a godly uncounterable Trickster, but maybe I'll change my mind once I do.
I've played him quite a bit today.
T-L's result in easy downs.
Jungle gyms are harder but still downs.
I-walls are free downs.
Shack is pretty easy.

Didn't play killer in a while and I used another account for it. I don't have nemesis so I am not sure which killer would be suitable for the test.
Had a game against sloppy huntress. Noticeable freezes but less than before. Dead hard works at least.
I have mixed experience but mostly positive when compared to how it was before. Have yet to play against nemesis and rpd. Two people crashed at the start when those two were together in a game and the killer dced shortly after.
Blight and Oni would be good tests.

All of which can apply to killers that aren't the punching bag of the forums like Nurse. Heck, the only times Trickster really lacks counterplay is low wall loops, where Huntress also lacks counterplay. In fact, his power is less applicable than Huntress. For instance, shack is borderline unplayable against Huntress, but can be used to run Trickster for a longer time than typical for a killer. This alone means that the Legion comparison is a massive exaggeration. Legion literally follows the survivor no matter where they go faster than the survivors. This is hardly comparable to Trickster.
No, not current Legion, Old Legion.
And with Huntress, you can outplay her hatchets. You can juke them and make distance. You can punish a bad Huntress.
You can't really punish a bad Trickster. He's got enough knives that he doesn't need to be accurate.
-
@Lordofweed said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2386743#Comment_2386743
Can you explain that further?
He offers no counterplay during a chase. You cannot outplay him in a meaningful or punishing way. However, he continues to lose games despite being extremely oppressive in chases.
He cannot receive any buffs, lest we send him into real old Legion territory. That's why Legion himself hasn't received any changes despite being the weakest Killer at high levels.
Basically, in layman's terms, his design is bad and leaves him in a precarious state where he cannot be buffed and will remain unfun.

When I played RPD 2 players DC'd, one on hook when they hit second state and one I thought on first down. I wonder if they legit DC'd or if they were crashes.
I specifically asked the two who DC'd if they crashed and they said they did upon entering the bathroom.
They could be lying, but there really isn't much reason for them to.

I swear that nerf did more for DS than what original DS did.
I know the original allowed you to get off the Killer's back instantly if you were the obsession, but the new one completely changes how Killers play the game just by the virtue of EXISTING.
Oh, I was talking about the recent DS nerf.
The old times shall not be spoken of.

No.

B) Nerf Iron Will?

Here.
There are definitely still issues, and the overall FPS is still unbearably low at times, but the freezing has seen a 75% reduction in length. The game still seems to freeze during all of the previously mentioned actions, however, it would seem that the actual duration of the freeze has been significantly shortened.

I would not compared updated trickster with current legion. Since new trickster will be able to down pretty quickly, especially out in the open where there is no debris/cover nearby. So I'm pretty sure you mean survivors when you say "fun for both side", since most killers who played the trickster during the ptb loved the changes based on what they said when I played. But yeah he is going to be bused in the open with no cover.
Regardless, both he and old Legion are incredibly unhealthy.

This is just an thought I had the other day, but I think they either:
A) just booted up the game, saw it worked (started to main menu) and put it off without ANY match testing
B) they booted up the game, tested a few matches, and just released the patch anyway in the hope they would get away with it, like they got away with the things before the RE patch (like getting a frame drop when getting hit with sloppy butcher for example).
For the record, they did know.
In the 5.0.0 patch notes, they acknowledged an issue affecting Xbox users, which means they did extensive testing on Xbox.
They knew and pushed it out anyways. Make your own conclusions as to why they didn't delay it.

Devour Anna's hatchets speed add ons can no longer block them with pilates noed tunneling and camping all these things can be stopped but this game is so killer sided it is amazing survivors have three useful perks resergance and bt prove thyself how many times do I get hit through pilates with lithe .
Alright.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I do not believe you've put 15 Devotion levels into DBD.
Pretty much everything you've described is a classic new player issue, and there isn't anything wrong with that. I'll list out some recommendations to deal with what you've mentioned above.
Hex: Devour Hope ~ Devour is a decent perk. The Killer needs 3 stacks of Devour to instant down someone, but they need 5 to Kill a Survivor. The Killer needs to be 24 meters away from the hook in order for Devour to proc. If you are seeing Devour (or other Hex perks), you may want to consider running Small Game, which will allow you to find totems easier.
Huntress Hatches ~ Honestly, the hitboxes can be pretty BS. You really have to make reads and force her to M1 you. Treat her hatches like you would a Billy chainsaw.
Hex: No One Escapes Death ~ NOED's counter is fairly simple. You just gotta do totems. They give 1K BP and 1.5K if they are affected by a Hex perk. If the Killer has other Hex perks, such as Devour Hope or Ruin, you have even more reason to cleanse them or run Small Game.
Tunneling ~ Tunneling is the best strategy a Killer can employ. Despite your claims to the contrary, the game is Survivor-sided at high levels of play. Even mathematically, it is extremely Survivor-sided. Getting one person out as fast as possible massively tips the odds for the Killer. If you are being tunneled, the BEST thing you can do is to waste as much time as possible. I understand it is frustrating, but the longer you are alive and occupying the Killer, the better chances your team has. Running Dead Hard (which gives you an extra health state if used correctly) and Decisive Strike (which also grants another chance at life) will drastically increase your chances.
Camping ~ Camping will only work if Survivors let it work. Don't go for the Survivor on hook, just slam gens and leave. You might get a safety or possibly de-pip, but you won't get campers every game. The Killer will also de-pip, which means they will continue to de-rank and you won't have to play with them anymore. Borrowed Time and Kindred are excellent perks to use against camping Killers.
As you said Survivors only have 3 good perks, I've compiled a list of perks I consider to be "S-tier" or "top-tier."
Iron Will, Prove Thyself, Spine Chill, Dead Hard, Borrowed Time, Sprint Burst, Decisive Strike, Adrenaline, Small Game, Counterforce, Resurgence, Windows of Opportunity and We'll Make It.
Hope this helps!

And what platform do you play on?

@Orion said:
Will it completely fix everything that's wrong with the game? No.
Will it fix many issues? Yes.
Will it fix all the issues you want? I don't know, but probably not.
Will people still complain that they didn't fix [insert thing here]? Definitely.
The other hotfix patch released in June made performance worse.
We've never seen a performance upgrade on current-gen systems.
I have zero confidence in BHVR's ability to fix the real underlying problem, but I think they can make the game run like before RE.
But if it doesn't, a lot of people are going to quit.
