Because it's not a conspiracy. Some of us have genuine experience in coding, marketing or general insider knowledge and still call out BHVR on their BS.
Their lack of transparency has fostered severe distrust and negatively impacts their microtransactional sales. The happier the community, the more cash they pump in. Basic business sense, right? Only BHVR seems content to do as little work as possible and therefore invest less money into DbD while pushing cosmetics and visual upgrades (realm beyond) over gameplay (also realm beyond, hello insane gameplay choices) and stability (everyone whose not a PC player with a good rig). They make mistake after mistake, refuse to utilise the resource that is the Fog Whisperer program, and ignore their most dedicated audience, I suspect as another business choice related to them making more money off of chapter sales from the influx of new players in their current ecosystem.
But, instead of doing the smart thing and having their PR team handle the community and feed us all sweet platitudes, they just ignore us. Instead of implimenting basic fixes that anyone with any experience programming games will tell you takes less than an hour, let alone a day, they go out of their way to not rock the boat even if those fixes are console optimisation. And yes, there are a lot of settings that could be disabled on console to make the platform run a lot smoother with minimal visual impact.
There's no conspiracy. There's just a lack of good PR to drown out the experienced community members who can actually call out BS or provide details that allow people to read between the lines, often in a positive manner. Instead, everyone feels ignored and lied to, as well as outright silenced. Because, well, they are.
did someone say console optimization?

Yeah, it's not my normal style, but I enjoy it.
Back 4 Blood, Forza Horizon 5 and Halo Infinite are also coming soon.
Battlefield 2042 will also probably be on it in a year or so.

I mean, there are some great games, I've been enjoying Hades.
But, you're clearly just trying to shame people for not forking out thousands of dollars for a PC.

and that is #########-awful idea numbero dos
And as further clarification, I don't think basekit Ebony Mori is a good idea, even now. It removes any possibility of counterplay to save a Dead on Hook Survivor.
But Keys seem like the bigger issue.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
They're going to make them basekit though? And instead of making them something stronger/weaker they're trying to make them a more usual, more interactive gameplay feature? Same with keys; add them basekit, make basekit counterplay, and make them a decent strength
I am VERY concerned about Keys becoming basekit.
As it stands, if Mori's become basekit, it isn't a HUGE balance issue, even as they are now.
Keys, however, could be a massive issue and I am not sure if I trust BHVR on this one.

I mean
that is the mechanic but it doesnt work. Last 2 games, chains spawn faster than you can dodge and avoid them to then start the box. The time between is too short to actively start the box sadly.
I've never had that issue.

Once you start solving the box, no chains should spawn.

Yes, it should work like that.

This specific issue with perk activation/deactivation, status effects, prompts that seems to effect HDD more does not make it an issue with how the game handles unloading and offloading on a HDD or even account for every performance issue that commenters on this thread is referring to.
BUT IM the one derailing the thread, gotcha. Couldn't be the BHVR bashing or even the the thread name being that way. No way, impossible. Jesus. If this is a report thread then pin it. It's as simple as that. It's not like im here shitposting. You wanna maintain the BHVR bashing, and aggressive reports, that's cool and fair. PIN...IT. If it was pinned for the topic, I would not be here. Every post I've made in this thread has been related to the topic of "Performance Issues". Discussing the validity of what these performance issues are, or could be is on topic. So as far as it's concerned I'm not breaking any forum rules.
But, I'll leave this thread be. I advise if you want this to be a report topic, pin it.

I'm sure other hacks were used at the time, that was just one of the more obvious "look I'm from pc" hacks.
I never encountered any of that, but I have heard isolated incidents of such things occurring very rarely.

Also, my mistake, he had BBQ.

So even when I turn crossplay off, pc players (hackers) can still end up in my lobbies appearing as they are on my platform? Seriously???
Was this possible before the crossplay came? I don't remember ever facing hackers back in the day.
Now I definitely wish crossplay never happened. This is dumb. I faced like 5+ hackers in the last 15 days, I don't want to see them when I turn crossplay off too.
Yes, it was technically possible.
I honestly can't believe it happens without crossplay too
-
@bm33 said:
I've had quite a few matches on ps4 with crossplay off where very suspect things have been happening. Have had few perkless or single perk killers somehow finding survivors in places they shouldn't be able to, major lag/odd hits towards end of match when losing... Things that just make you question if they are just lucky or if they are actually hacking.
They are 100% hacking if they are PC when you have Crossplay turned off.

Not really, no. If you sweat, then I expect you to be paired with others that do the same. Don't sweat as much if you're not having fun. I don't intentionally throw the match, but I don't sweat for the 4K either. I'll also usually give the hatch to the last player as well.
You are literally saying "Just stop being good, so you get worse players."

Because it isn't fun to play DBD without intentionally throwing the match.

There's really not that many weak killers left in DbD, to be honest.
That's a ######### hot take.
-
He's very weak.
-
From what I understand:
Myers, since he is Evil Incarnate. The Entity can't really control him, but he likes killing people so he stays.
Pyramid Head, since he is the physical manifestation of guilt.
Pinhead, because of Leviathan.
Demogorgon, because of the Mind Flayer.

One thing to be balanced at a time. If all said things were put into play i think this is a great idea. Obviously the meta will have to shift after these changes and gen slowdown will be the next on the chopping block. I think more objectives for survivors will make the game more fun for survivors. Also assuming you take out time to do that second objective from gen times then gen repair times would be less anyways. Then Gen slowdown perks will be less effective by default.
OP edited the post.
It originally said "What if Survivors only needed to be hooked twice?"

Read what he said again, it's the same thing, and he's literally been making threads complaining about it on a weekly basis.
I actually only made one thread, which highlighted the key issues I wanted addressed with MMR. It was moreso criticism than complaining.
I have made my stance extremely clear. MMR is anti-fun for me. There are two options, either roll back MMR or make the game more fun.
Someone else said that they thought it was a great system that was clearly going to work, and any flaws would be far outweighed by the benefits, so I said fine, i'm willing to wait and be proven correct

I said it on a different thread before MMR came out.

Okay, and how far are you willing to drag this out? Where is the line? Is it games like BF 2042? Is Dice just lying about the older consoles just cant handle 128 players? Are people expecting the Xbox One and PS4 to play games well into the 2020's? Where is the line?
As a former software developer, this is quite simple...as software/games/whatever become more and more complicated and/or more things the hardware has the juggle, the more unstable something will be.
Look, I'm not here to bash....far from it. I have a Series X myself and I haven't ran into any real performance issues that wouldn't happen on a my PC (just so we're clear, I have a RTX 3070 and a R5 5600x).
To the first point. I would really like to know of these titles your referring to, I really would. The reason I ask because it seems pretty obvious these are more than likely AAA games with ~$50 Million production budgets. We also have to understand the engine. Don't get me wrong UE4 is great, but unless you have some talent and huge budgets...your not going to get the same performance as something like Gears, or one off's like Hellblade. Remember, if something is possible it doesn't mean it's the expectation. I can just as easily say, "Look at games like Ark, or Conan".
What your asking for is probably way to much effort and money for a port that wont be relevant in a few years time. It's as simple as that.
Battlefront 2 runs fine. Literally never had an issue with it.
Same with Red Dead Redemption 2.
Sea of Thieves, which I think uses the same engine, also runs just fine.
All of these games look LEAGUES better than DBD and have MUCH more going on.

I feel like Ormond is a map that enhances the performance issues. I had a match against a Clown there running Sloppy and both myself and my swf teammate were experiencing a 1-2 second freeze just before the hit actually connected - was like the game knew the hit would connect but was freezing to load up the status effect. Sloppy is bad on any map but it's terrible on maps like Ormond that have increased performance issues.
Same clown was also finding people without any sort of informational perk. He was finding players hidden in areas he shouldn't have seen or heard them, sometimes going straight for them across map after a hook like he was running BBQ. Hoping he was just very lucky at finding people and not hacking.
Sloppy is pretty awful, I've found it to be the worst on the Crotus Prenn maps tho. Probably cuz of all the smoke and particle effects
-
I wouldn't call my experience a success.

Idk... I have really been enjoying it on both sides. Are my games harder? Absolutely! It feels much more rewarding when I win. Winning (before the new MM system) because I kept going against potatoes wasn't fun to me. I'm sure your rating will go down if you're having trouble. Just hang on :)
It won't go down because I keep winning.
The matches have been frustrating, infuriating and downright miserable, but I've still won.
