Awful. The least enjoyable experience I've ever had in a video game and I've played Overwatch recently.
-
Yes, SBMM is supposed to make you sweat for a 2K and make sure you have a miserable time.
Are my matches miserable? Yep. Do I still wait 15 minutes for them? Yep.

I didn't know I was lying the other times.
You didn't disguise your intentions.
You just came out and said you felt like dumping on it for no reason and I appreciate the honesty.
-
At least you were honest this time.

Pulsar you can use the report form, put as much information as you can on there, with regards to their name/id etc. And if you upload the video to your YouTube, you can just put the link on the form (that way it's quick as it takes ages to upload the video to the support site and it can often fail).
sorry you faced this :(
No worries, I'm just surprised that they can get into my games.
I already uploaded two separate clips of it, plus all the info I could get.
-
Okay. Here's my post-patch analysis.
Dead Hard can still freeze the game. It's about 80% fixed, I would say. As seen here, it will still freeze your game.
https://youtu.be/r6x5OqxmgYQThere are also unbreakable pallets on the game, but that's less of an optimization issue.
https://youtu.be/veFTz9WnjacI also got a hacker when my Crossplay was turned off, so watch out for that everyone.

I never once tapped it. I held the button down the whole time.
The first chain, yes. But you got healed, which spawned more chains targeting you.
If you would have immediately returned to solving the box instead of healing, you would have prevented the other chains from spawning

So, first off even though it says it in the video I just want to say sorry for sounding like a whiny B. This is after dealing with this in several games. This match alone went on for nearly 26 minutes. Yes, it was that long. I can't upload the whole video because I'm cussing through the whole thing. xD In this attempt you see, I'm trying to do the box and almost finish it before I'm attacked by chains. Not once in this match was anyone ever able to complete the puzzle and that's all anyone tried to do since we couldn't really do anything else. This was the closest I personally got. Most the time I never made it past a quarter progress. Also pause on the last image after my character gets hit. It's hilarious. lmao
Link to video clip: https://youtu.be/25BD2KZ4yCQ
Sorry to say, but it's just you messing up.
As soon as you start solving the box, the Chains will stop spawning, you kept tapping it and running, then tappingit again. The final set of chains you were attacked by were from Pinhead himself, likely using a build I figured out.
-
This will probably be unpopular but
I would rather have another potential Mettle of Man-esque OP perk than continue at the current perk change rate.
-
F-tier.
He no longer comes when you touch his box :(

Hopefully the MMR will show after a few months how bad high skill level play is in regard to killers played at that level and we will get some balance changes. I 100% can understand not wanting to face Spirit, Blight and Nurse all the time, but I also understand why good players use them and good players are going to be at the top.
I think, unfortunately, that won't happen.
The Devs have had that data for years and have insisted that they will not balance it.
-
It would be massively imbalanced with slowdown perks.
-
@liquidlight said:
Yeah. But how do you tag someone?
Use @ and then my name.
If I wanted to tag you, I'd go @liquidlight

I'm not on Oracle level, but I'm a fairly decent survivor, so yeah. What do you want out of the MMR then? If you are apparently very very top skill level, what do you expect? You know survivor is stronger and the very top level killer players know this so they play accordingly. Would you rather smash on worse killers or something? If you are a good player, you should face other good players.
Didn't say you should.
Just that it isn't fun.

I did record it. I'll upload it in a few.
Okay, can you tag me in it? I'm curious.
-
@liquidlight said:
Not for any of my games. I even had a teammate try to block me so I could complete it and it didn't work.
Record it.

Fun is subjective. I enjoy going against competent killer players when I have competent teammates.
Then you don't play at the level I'm describing.
High MMR is bad for Killer because they are basically only allowed to play Spirit and Nurse and maybe Blight. Any other Killer can't make it there and if they do, they get absolutely clobbered.
For Survivors, high MMR is awful because you won't see 95% of the cast of Killers.
-
The chains stop once you start the box.
-
To be the best.
-
There isn't one.
The better you are at this game, the less fun it is.
-
@Mandy said:
As @Bloodshade said. It would make it way too easy to constantly start chain hunts, the survivors would not be able to do anything.
Real question is, why isn't the Iri Lament Configuration basekit?
-
He's pretty awful if you aren't consistently getting chain hunts,
-
It is undebatable that high MMR is extremely unbalanced.

They were asking the community for help how to reproduce it iirc, because they stated they can’t do it (and apparently fixed some causes for the bug but not all..)
though I do not know if they are still actively searching for help?
It just seems random to me, idk how you would reproduce it.

Do it! It's going to be a blast and it's a great way to meet tons of other players :)
I'm just afraid I'm too mean of a Killer and not a good enough Survivor 😂

My buddy has crossplay off explicitly because he hates playing against pc, but he still got put into a match with a cheater pc hacker duo. He was repairing a gen that a hacker popped immediately and he was still repairing a popped generator, he couldnt stop laughing at that.

I know that hackers can disable your ability to report, but I wonder if they can hack crossplay status as well?
They definitely can.
-
Tbh, I might ask my buddies if they want to do this.

I actually had a PC hacker in my Crossplay off lobby.
That was fun.

Not quite true. The impression I've gotten is that the new system is using data that they started collecting, it's in the database, but the old rank system was NOT using it to determine rank. Maybe the old rank system was using 5 points of data and maybe the new one is using 10. They started gathering the 10 points of data a while ago, intending to use them now.
At least... ideally. It seems that a lot aren't seeing that work and I'm mid-low level, so I can't give a very solid opinion since my matches are usually pretty mediocre aside from sometimes in the past getting a killer way over my head who decimates me in like 2 minutes.
I'm sitting in queues during peak hours for 20 minutes as Pinhead, then getting short games where I 4K.
Same with Blight, just longer queues.

That’s very rare though out of all my games I only ran into the bug like 2 times out of all my games. I know it’s still there it’s a issue but it’s very rare
It happens pretty regularly to me. Maybe once in every four games.
How odd.

Have some faith in BHVR.
aside for console, bugs are relatively tame. The worst thing weve had was one day of Pinhead games getting #########.
this is quite an improvement from what we've had and its nice.
Iron Will still silences all sounds.
Silent slug bug is in the game after 3 years

why was the queue that long?
Great question.
I'd like to know as well. That one was definitely an outlier. My average has been thirty minutes with two taking over an hour and one taking about 10 minutes.
Without any numbers, I can only assume the game believes I am the Entity and am simply the greatest Killer to ever exist. When it can't find those same caliber Survivors, it loses it's ######### and sits me in a queue until it finds someone.
-
I wish that were the case because I just sat in a hour and thirty minute queue for a Pinhead game that ended up with the top guy getting 12K points.

No, the old system produced unreliable data compared to the current MMR system.
Which is why it needs adjusting. Which is why having any data is better than having no data at all.
Because anything is better than randomly assigning people to matches with random players, some with far higher skill sets than the average player.
I can't exactly give it better data if I get hour long queue times.
-
@DelsKibara said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2483859#Comment_2483859
Because it's better than forcing EVERYONE to start at 0. Where it's completely random for everyone for a long time.
So the old system did work, at least somewhat.
Pick a side. Either the old system produced unreliable data or it produced usable data.
The test wasn't as bad as it is currently.

@ThiccBudhha said:

Data based on the old system. It needs mmr data from mmr matches. They have only had a couple tests that lasted a few days, we need like a month of this system for everything to normalize.
Then why collect data at all?
If the system is so flawed that the data is #########, why even collect it?
-
@Schardon said:

Again - Your experience withing 24 hours of MMR going live is not relevant. MMR needs to adjust itself (in every game) before working properly. We'll see if it'll work in DbD.
You should start to notice an effect of MMR after a decent amount of games. I'd say about 50-100. If the system really works.
It can't work within your first 10 games.
That's blatantly false.
BHVR has been collecting data for years, wiped it and then collected another 6 months worth.
The system should be working now, and if it isn't, it's broken.

Something like that. Darn.
Nah, it's actually just because I probably have ASD. Trouble expressing my thoughts has always been an issue. They are so organized in my head, not so much when they come out.
I can't imagine people taking what I have to say seriously. I say a lot of stupid #########.

His chains are great at all kind of loops, you can teleport your chain anywhere and slow them down constantly with 3, and 1 or 2 more if these break instantly.
You can also get nice value in distance if you hit the chain, if you miss... that's terrible.
I wish I was a streamer or youtuber because holy ######### typing out my thoughts is hard.

Yeah.
Imagine my surprise when I 2 pip my first game and don't get it.

That's fine, so am I but this is ultimately the wrong game to be competitive in.
I also enjoy seeing my skill represented by an emblem/rank in games that are not atrociously balanced. DbD is not one of them.
If you really are competitive your sense of "fun" should be that you're playing fair and balanced games which most of the time will be close matches. This is what MMR will or should do in the long run. Your experience withing 24 hours of MMR going live is not relevant. MMR needs to adjust itself (in every game) before working properly. We'll see if it'll work in DbD.
If your sense of fun is stomping worse players then you're not competitive but you like to see yourself as competitive.
Either way - MMR just got implemented. Let people play a few weeks for it to properly adjust. If it's still a mess in a few weeks/months then we have reasons to complain.
If people want to SEE their skill level represented they should not ask for better match making or MMR. None of those things visibly represent your skill level. The correct thing to ask for, in that case, would be a proper ranked mode.
A real ranked mode in DbD is more of a bad joke than what it's worth though imo.
Where I play, there is no balance.
High MMR is not fair in any sense of the word.

I’m guessing queues are a bit out of whack since this was a killer only chapter. The same happened when demo came out I remember
Maybe.
It is NOT fun to have huge queues and then having a 7 minute match. It was also the same people every time.

Agreed.
When I got his Adept I think I used his standard chains once if that.
They're too easy to counter for clued up players.
But with a couple of complimentary perks and add-ons, Pinhead can be fun.
Adept is currently busted on Xbox so RIP
-
Also, tips for maximizing his real power, ie, Chain Hunt.
Run Hoarder, Ruin, PGTW and Franklin's. Run two slowdown Lament Configuration add-ons. Pinhead's box, from what I can see, spawns in the same places that Hatch does. It won't spawn anywhere it can't, I've never seen it spawn 2nd floor on Midwich.

Do you play with cross play on or off?
Both today.
Crossplay off had me at over an hour for a Blight match.
Crossplay on was 45 minutes-ish. I don't remember the actual time, I know it was shorter though.
