Maybe turn on crossplay buddy
Even turning crossplay off on Console doesn't stop cheaters from PC.

Played three games tonight.
One of them had a suspicious name.
It was an ad for a cheating website and you had better believe he was subtle about it.
-
No, that is not a bug.
If Wesker grabs you at the Gate, it will block for a short time.

MMR works. It’s just there are huge discrepancies between the rankings of killers and survivors, so it prioritizes queue times (faster) over queue homogeneity (equalization of skill across all players). If it didn’t, killers would likely wait 20+ minutes for matches. They more easily rise through MMR, after all, while solo queue survivors, the majority of the survivor playerbase, do not. I personally wished MMR prioritized skill equalization over times because I think it would give killers something to think about.
So, the entire point of MMR was to match you with people at your skill level and it doesn't do that.
-
From earlier:
https://clips.twitch.tv/MoldyAbrasiveCattleKeyboardCat-bJIuAumCmoXyDSVOThis Ace was moderately subtle the entire match, up until the end.
The moment me and my friend both say that our games tried to die is when the Killer's Xbox froze and then crashed, hence why the game ended.
-
It's empty talk to me.
I've heard it all before. Communication is a good start but it means little if the problem isn't lessened.

Every survivor player can be adjusted on an individual player basis, by their survivor MMR score.
You think MMR works 😂

Good? It means they're sitting out of queue instead of ruining other peoples' games. And AFK is easy to report, given they're just straight up not doing anything.
Queues will also be longer as a result and less people will play the game.
Whether or not that is good is up to you.

That's not a good argument. All the killers should be adjusted. I'm sure a lot of people are saying this as an excuse to later on tell everyone that "Blight and Nurse get nothing, because they already have enough".
By your logic, we should give buffs to survivors on an individual basis. Low and Mid MMR survivors might be able to get stuff, but high MMR survivors should get absolutely nothing, because they "already have enough"
You think Blight and Nurse need buffs? Lmao, okay.
No, certain Killers will need HUGE buffs. Nurse and Blight won't need buffs at all. They can compete with top SWF's right now.
Survivors cannot be adjusted on an individual basis since every Survivor is the same. Killers are mostly different and have different powers, ergo, they can be adjusted individually.

They managed to nerf the worst perk in the game.

At least DC's throw out match results, so if nothing else the devs internal statistics would be more meaningful for them. Also, aren't those just the two options killers have regarding refusing to continue matches? You're correct that the entitlement won't go away, but it'll at least be less sanctioned.
Perhaps.
I was merely remarking that this won't actually fix the issue. It's just gonna shift it.
-
If you get rid of it, you'll see more DC's and more AFK Survivors.

Killers really don't have enough information against SWFs though. For example, when SWFs use voice comms to warn each other where the killer is, which allows them to hide much earlier than they should be able to, the killer doesn't have anything basekit to help find these survivors.
Even when the killer isn't against a SWF, when a killer hooks a survivor, the killer doesn't have anything basekit to tell them if anyone is even doing generators. Because if none of the survivors are doing generators, then why should the killer leave the hook?
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3206655#Comment_3206655
I have an issue with Duos and Trios getting buffed for free. Why should we listen to the survivors that complain about solo q balance, if we're completely ignoring the killers that complain about SWF balance? It's PAINFULLY obvious that people just want the solo q buffs, and want to give killers absolutely zero buffs to help them against SWFs.
The entire argument has been to buff Solo's and adjust Killers accordingly on an individual basis.
-
You forgot to mention how they actually managed to nerf No Mither.
-
I think I'll keep advocating for Solo Q changes because the majority of the playerbase desperately needs them.
-
@Coffeecrashing said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3206536#Comment_3206536
It is extra information though, because people can only get it via third party software. If survivors are getting extra information, then killers should get extra information too. One of the strengths of SWFs using voice comms is specifically that survivors get an option to receive a lot of additional game information, but killers don't get an option to receive a lot of additional game information.
Also, as mentioned before, at average MMR, SWFs don't really get a large survival rate boost, which means that the majority of the people complaining about solo q aren't going to see much of a difference, and will therefore just continue to complain that BHVR won't give them even more free stuff. But at high MMR, the extra information will buff 2-SWF and 3-SWF, and make them even more unbalanced and miserable for killers to play against.
Whole lot of assumptions in your argument.
As for me, I don't know if I'm high MMR. I frequently play against Tofu, so there's that.
I don't really have issues handling Duo's or Trio's. I would rather buff Solo's because it is PAINFULLY obvious that they are in a very poor spot for the majority of people.

This is why it's difficult to guage, because of how small the xbox-crossplay off pool is. We'd get so few matches you couldn't judge or test or collect data that'd be useful at all.

First of all, Valve is a multi-billion dollar company. BHVR Interactive net worth is estimated ~$100-300 million. Making checks for literally every single thing is a gargantuan demand and wasted extraneous effort in most cases.
Second of all, VAC is literally client-side and server-side both.
Respectfully, there's no excuse for the game being so client-sided that hackers can force you to buy DLC on Steam.

I understand that Wesker is still relatively new to the game, and that because of that, the chances of seeing him are tremendously increased.
But it just seems like he’s easy MMR. Most of the Weskers I run into, absolutely struggle with his dash, one would literally wait to get face to face with me before using it (just melee me at that point? Lol).
and a lot of the times, these Weskers camp/tunnel too.
That's objectively the best way to use his Bound.
It's hitbox is way better now, but it's still pretty precise.
It is far far far better to use his Bound to get a hit than to M1

fact is that this is impossible to achieve sadly... due to the nature of SWF, solo will be always worse than people who play in a SWF (considering survivors with the same skill the difference is even more noticeable)
Maybe, but there are things that can be done to close the gap.

You're describing 90% of the killer cast.
Yes, but Twins and Pinhead come to mind when thinking about Killers who have a strange dichotomy.
They are entirely too strong versus non-SWF's, but entirely too weak versus them.
Most other Killers are okay versus Solo's but bad versus SWF's.

It isn't a false narrative. You want a wider fov? You have a perk. It's a balance issue. I would like to have a fov slider too but everyone playing to win would max it out to have advantage over other players.
So because .01% of the playerbase would use this change to gain an advantage, we ######### over everyone else who gets motion sick from playing Killer?

@Tostapane said:

so less variety of gameplay with less strategies to use... this is what they are currently doing right now: erasing the best strategies that killers have...
Twins get absolutely massacred by competent teams with UB and comms. However, they are incredibly oppressive against players that do not have X perk and that cannot communicate.
Pinhead gets destroyed by teams with comms. However, he dominates versus teams that have no way to communicate.
This is the sign of a poorly designed power. They should be given an update so that they are more effective versus teams and less effective versus Solo players.

Can you give me some build with that perk for Clown & Wesker? Wanna try it out.
So for Wesker I've been running Dissolution, STBFL, PR and Bamboozle. I'd recommend Gold Chalice and Lion Medallion, you want damage states as often as possible.
A lot of times you can get a hit near a pallet, the Survivor vaults it once and you vault after them. There's normally not enough time to make it to another pallet before you catch up. So, they either vault the pallet and get downed, or hold W and get downed.
It is a feast or famine perk. Some matches it will literally win me the game, others it won't do anything.
-
@danielmaster87 said:
They 100% did not think this through. Killers like Twins who need to slug will be dead after this.
Good.
Killers whose power centers around hoping Survivors are Solo's should be reworked and given better powers.

Stretched res is a home made fov slider. Am I clear?
Here's stretched res:
And here's Shadowborn (a perk) compared to base FoV:
The one on the right is what people are asking for. It literally already exists as a perk. Nobody wants stretched res, so stop pushing that completely false narrative.
-
@Bot_Salvo88 said:
That's a solid no. Let's say I wait as killer 5 mins to get into a match. If you're nurse it's an insta 4 man DC right there after the first blink. If it's Wesker it's another DC because "I face the same killer over and over". If it's Twins "they're slugging me". If it's Bubba "he's facecamping" and the list goes on.
Same goes for killer. Map they don't like, insta DC. You get 3 gens done and he didn't even get a hook, insta DC. You loop very well, insta DC. Flashlight click or a teabag, insta DC. And the list goes on, here too.
Bad idea
Honestly, some Killers shouldn't be allowed to play against full Solo teams.
-
@Elessar93 said:
They can't put a fov slider because it's an advantage for both sides. With a wider FOV survivors can see behind walls and killers have a wider angle to look around. It's not that simple. Stretched mode is infamous for a reason.
Nobody is asking for stretched res.
We are asking for sliders so that we don't get motion sickness from playing the game.
Almost EVERY modern game has an FoV slider or an FoV that isn't 60.
-
I do hope they get reworked.
They've been an absolute failure since they released, on par with Legion.
-
WESKER.
I have been using it on Wesker since he came out and it is legitimately an amazing perk on him. The amount of bullshit situations you can put people in is insane.
-
I'd definitely want to see less Twins, you can have the one's I would get.
I'd like to see more Billy's.

BHVR seems to be willing to do anything except make the FoV slider an option.

Had 3 tonight as both Killer and Survivor.
As Killer, I just left because I wasn't feeling super spiteful at that moment.
On the off stream Survivor game, they were being subtle throughout the entire match but I may have started covertly tailing them. I hid near them and watched them insta-pop a gen that was at 75% and then I revealed myself! Their response was to scream hysterically for the rest of the match at hypersonic speeds. Then they instantly hooked and sacrificed all the other Survivors and last I saw they were blocking the Killer in a corner by being hooked and had out-lasted the EGC.
You can actually see the one on stream with me and my friend. I knew there was a cheater but I just wasn't sure who. It was Ace. He was moderately subtle and then he wasn't. He actually crashed the Killer's Xbox One S and both @Shdw_Void and I's Series X started the fan cycle and tried to die.
-
@ByeByeQ said:
I remember they did show the statistics at some point. I'm too lazy to try to find it now.
I remember SoloQs being more than 50% of all survivors, Duos being like 25-30%, Trios 10-15% and full Quads less than 10%.
This is actually ancient data from right before I joined the Forums (I was lurking tho).
To give some newer people some idea of how ancient, the newest Killer was Plague and the next Killer would be Ghostface, who was completely leaked in a Mid-Chapter PTB, iirc.

They seem weirdly resistant to time limits for whatever reason. Apparently, a match will end after 2 hours max (it will kick you out). So, just lower that threshold to 25 minutes and we're good.
Force end the game 15 seconds after the EGC ends.

They definitely do, but I do think it'll increase to a more noticeable level. If there were no DC penalty then I fully anticipate never experiencing another full game against a Nurse or Legion, nor will I probably see Eerie of Crows or Garden of Joy again.
Every time I see a Garden of Pain or Eyrie of Cringe offering, I always considering restarting during the loading screen.
Also, you experience games against Nurse or Legion that don't have people DC'ing or suicideing on hook?

So, hear me out:
In Rainbow Six Siege, if you get killed by Friendly Fire, you can either forgive the person for it, or penalize them for it.
Do the same thing here.
That way, if it's an obvious cheater, people DCing wouldn't get penalized by the rest of the team, who also realize it's a cheater and Forgive the DC. If they leave cuz they just don't like the match, there is a higher chance that the rest of their team will not forgive the DC. Also, if the ENTIRE TEAM thinks it's a bad match, then, well, ya. Not a perfect suggestion, but it has some merits.
Not a bad solution.
