"This is why you probably complain so much about the game"
It's because we care and we want DBD to be the best game it can be
-
I think my mindset on DBD has been corrupted.
At this point, after all my hours and everything I've seen, winning is expected. If I don't win, it feels especially ######### because I've spent all this time becoming better and I still couldn't manage it.
So, I understand how not even having a chance to win can be completely unfun.
However, as Killer, most matches are winnable. Are they winnable in fun ways? No, not really, but you can win most of your matches.
There will be matches where the MMR system ######### up and puts you with people you have zero business playing against, but that is (hopefully) rare.
-
I quite like it.
There are times where you get tunneled out and it's useless. There are times where it will win you games, provided you hit skill checks.
It's very much a feast or famine perk.
-
oh no
Never thought I'd feel bad for a Nurse player but jeez dude.
I guess SBMM really is the same as RBMM.

can it at least be this as a charm?
The hackers have gone too far this time

I am not playing rn because I am very sick
Been stuck on my bed/sofa for a while

The hatch isn't a win, it's at best, a pity escape so you don't cry that you had "no chance" when the rest of your team dies at 5 gens. I don't see the point in feeling you are owed an escape when you failed your objective. And I don't understand why people treat a hatch escape or escape without all 5 gens finished, a "win." It isn't even one, going by what we know of stats.
I don't see why we need to nerf perks so you have an easier way of an escape-loss
Points.
I want the points.

The Devs have already said they aren't touching the franchise.

Interesting data.
I'm also working on a data sheet to post.

okay well in the meantime enjoy the bloodweb grind and getting nothing out of performing well. was just an idea to reward good players but that apparently is easy and my idea isnt that good
Correct.
Too much reward for something that isn't difficult.

play legion red rank 1 and let me know how long you stay red rank 1 and consistently double pip. i can tell you now it isnt this easy bs you claim it is.
Because Rank 1 doesn't correlate to high MMR.
I've also put an unholy amount of time into Killer. Way more than I should've but it's paid off by allowing me to win almost all of my games.
I WILL lose as Legion, make no mistake. He's not Nurse or Blight and I'll find a team better than me eventually, but it's easy to pip with him even if you don't 4K.

How? It will reduce the time if youre really good but other than that getting there faster with the token idea just cements the fact that you are a good player and deserve the achievement other than grinding 2k hours into one character.
It's not hard to double pip.
Play Legion. Trust me, it's easy.
-
Basically invalidates the achievement of getting to P100.
-
It's been confirmed multiple times that you are allowed to use comms. It's not breaking any rules.
What would they do for console? Ban people from party chats?

Oh no i mean when it doesnt work in egc you can easily lose.
Ah, my mistake then.
Here's the suggestion i posted earlier for when the EGC triggers via hatch closing
"Stacks do not apply a bonus to the time the Exit Gate is blocked and No Way Out no longer notifies the Killer when it is triggered."
You still get value but it's not impossible for the Survivor to escape.

I mean, its easy to lose if gates are on opposite sides of the map with stuff in between. They can pretty easily get out before you do a patrol sometimes. Which is extremely bad map rng i guess
You shouldn't be losing games when the Gates are blocked for 60 seconds AND you get a noise notification of what door was touched.
-
Hmmmmm.
This does not bode well for me. Do not tell my 'fan club' about this

Don't you wish more killer-mains would play survivor for a couple of months so they would actually see what's happening instead of trying to destroy the game with perma-bans for DCs. But whatever.
It's just a difference of balance philosophy.
We both just want what we think is best for the game.
-
I'd maybe like to see it work like this if the Hatch is closed:
Stacks do not apply a bonus to the time the Exit Gate is blocked and No Way Out no longer notifies the Killer when it is triggered.
-
I...actually agree.
There's no way for the Killer to lose unless they MASSIVELY misplay.
Reminds of of old DS in the EGC, it's just a free win
-
No thanks
-
Me when I find out whose been ruining my games
-
Yeah, if you can consistently force a Chain Hunt, Pinhead is one of the most oppressive Killers in the game.
-
I've seen a p100 on xbox so yeah its possible.
I did see a P69 whose name was an add for a cheating website.
-
Off the Record.
Seriously. I get tunneled out of the game at 5 gens without it.

That's great. It's good to get new perspectives.
Do you only play solo or do you play in a swf
I play with a friend or two, having played in a 4-man in a year.

Can i just say I didn't know you were a survivor main. I thought you were a killer main or at least 50/50
I do play Killer still, just not as much as I once did.
My Kills do outnumber my escapes by 10x, so there's that. I'm a way better Killer than I am Survivor (good thing too, my Survivor is awful) but I decided that I should at least try to play Survivor more.
It's really helped expand my opinions on the game and it's current state.

That's my secret, I don't have fun.

I would go for 100 personally. 100 games would give you a nice straightforward percentage and it wouldn't take terribly long, assuming you'll be grinding it. The definition of "percent" is "out of 100" afterall.
I was gonna shoot for it anyway
I had 500 last time I did stats but that was a while ago and I was tracking totems cleansed.

His Nightfall hurts my eyes.
I always end up getting a bad headache after playing against him and I don't know why. There's not even any flashing lights.

Sorry but that's just idealistic wishwash. There will always be something in a trial that someone doesn't like and will use whatever underhanded tool the game gives them to grief or leave.
I don't like a dozen champs in league to play against as a certain character but can ban only one.
In r6s there are always a few operator you don't want to see in the enemy team on certain maps but have only limited bans.
In overwatch there will always be people playing the hero that counters you or you don't like.
And in DBD there will always be someone unhappy with the killer they face, the perk that the other side has or the map they got.
You can't make it perfect for everybody, which is the reason for the DC penalty in EVERY of those games. But DBD is the only one with a loophole for ONE side that also screws over the rest of their team.
@SuzuKR how about simply applying the DC penalty for deaths in the first 90-120 seconds? It's impossible to die in that time without actively giving up except maybe hook farming but for that they can simply deactivate the penalty if the game detects an unhook.in that time to avoid hook farming DC abuse.
I'm more interested in pursuing the bot system.
You can't stop people from cucking over their team. Like @SuzuKR said, some people will do it for anything and nothing will make them stop.
You can, however, minimize the damage. The more I've read here, the more I've come to the conclusion that we are trying to achieve the same thing through vastly different means. Others would rather make it difficult and punish it extremely harshly, which is fair, but that won't make a difference to those players.
I'd rather investigate a bot system that replaces a teammate after they DC or suicide on hook. Obviously, there's some fine tuning to be done with the idea, but I really do think after that fine tuning is done, everyone will be happy. Killers won't get screwed out of BP, Survivors can have a chance to, you know, win and the person leaving gets to, well, leave.
I'd rather have a bot that's trying it's best over a teammate who doesn't want to be in the match.

Somewhere between 20 - 40 games maybe, or you could go 50-70.
What stats are you trying to get?
I'm tracking the following items:
Maps.
Killers seen.
Map offerings used and by whom.
If I was in a group or not and if so, how large was it.
How many Kills the Killer got.
How many hook states the Killer got.
The Killer's perks.
If there were any DC's/suicides and if so, how many.
On what hook states did the DC's/suicides occur.
Whether or not the Killer BM'd for no discernible reason.
What add-ons the Killer ran.
and if the bubba facecamped.
-
No, it is very much in my best interest to dodge them.
They love my so much that I get spammed with messages and my internet mysteriously shuts off for hours after I play them.
So yeah, I very much prefer to just dodge them.

It's clearly because they're only interested in playing the game when their individual needs are met, and the moment they aren't having fun they become abhorrent to team with.
SWF's weed out those kind of players very quickly.
Clearly, that's the only possible reason.

You know exactly what my deal is. I don't throw a tantrum and exit a game because something didn't go my way.
Even if what remains of my team is incapable of pulling anything off. That is the implicit agreement everyone makes when they play a team based game. The quitters don't get invited back.
Honestly, it's starting to make sense why so many soloQ players can't find an SWF to play with.
Honestly, it's starting to make sense why so many soloQ players can't find an SWF to play with.
Is it because not everyone is comfortable with talking to complete strangers?
or because they don't want to go through the hassle of making DBD work with a group?
or because they don't have friends willing to subject themselves to the experience roulette of DBD?
-
Because some people can't be trusted to not say horrific ######### in the EGC.

And what happens when you're a killer who is unable to catch any of the survivors who clearly outclass you, or invalidated your build entirely?
You DC and eat the penalty, or you afk and put your time to go next at the mercy of the other players. Ragequitting on hook doesn't really have an alternative for killers, which is why many people proposed letting them open the exit gates before the gens are powered in the past (while disabling all their EGC perks like noed.) They never got that.
Maybe they should've

Because they're immature brats who weren't raised right. Dude.
Many players are capable of not suiciding on hook even when there experience has been lessened by other players or mechanics they don't like.
Not really, no. It's not that deep.
For the casual player, if the game isn't fun, then they'd rather go elsewhere.
DBD is sort of unique in the fact that either side can simply decide that the other will not have fun. If I lose to a Huntress who is cracked out of her mind and 12-hooked us at 1 gen left, I feel good. Not happy that we lost, but it's chill.
If we get a Bubba who just facecamps the first person he downs, the casual player is just gonna let go.

That kind of sounds like are intentionally throwing the game because it didn't go the way you wanted.
The game is over dude.
This literally happened last night. Killer hard tunneled my friend out at 5 gens, hooked another guy twice.
One dude was in a locker and I saved the guy on death hook and the only way the Killer stopped tunneling him was when I LITERALLY went down for him.

If you mean insane players getting shoved into average lobbies, yeah. But the odds of facing that in the first place is low. For the insane player, facing an average player is quite likely. But there’s a huge amount of potential average players the matchmaking could shove them together with. So any individual average player facing players of that level isn’t that common.
No, I mean the absolute travesty that is most Solo Q games.
-
@SuzuKR said:

That is a matchmaking issue, which should be addressed regardless. Hook suicide still should not be possible, because that causes problems in a multitude of scenarios.
It's a matchmaking issue that will never be fixed.

Mature players can face parts of the game they dislike without resorting to ragequitting and ruining it for everyone else.
You're starting to grate on me and I'm not sure why.
If the Killer has 6 hooks before any gens are done, I'm not gonna bother sticking around after I get hooked, sorry. It's better to go next and forget about it.
