I made a post asking about that as well. I am 1000% on board with more blood point events and them being announced a few weeks out so that we can plan better. I made a post about early announcement in the general and feedback sections, maybe they get traction, but I think it is silly that they dont tell us when they announce events that bloodhunts go on from x day - x day... and why dont we have more bloodhunts, when p3 is literally only a cosmetic upgrade.... but takes quite a bit to overhaul for an average player. good publicity means more people playing and shorter queue times.

Also, their codes notoriously expire fast. I am not saying it is right, but I think the idea is that it was for those watching the stream. I expected it to only work during the time it was live

About the last paragraph. I was watching the stream, I even threw my homework apart just to watch it. But guess what. I didn't know I should have my laptop turned on. It was very late for me anyway so I couldn't. I saw people that were at work while watching the stream, or simply not at home. Most of the people didn't have their DBD opened, since they were watching a stream.

then you clearly had time to type a code in that would take you 30 seconds.... or you didnt care that much if it expired.

Matthieu literally announced the ptb is live. Almost everyone either started downloading it right away, or as in my case, next day since for me it was extremely late. How do they expect people to get the ptb and redeem the code? Well yeah, redeem it first then get ptb. But nobody expected it to expire so fast, so pretty much nobody first redeemed the code then got the ptb. I still don't know why they are so reticent for giving bp to people. We haven't had a blood hunt since Halloween 2019. And we won't have one now either (yey, at least mobile gets it).

I have every character P3 and almost every survivor has every perk and teachable. My killers are all P3 and I never got past that point XD And this is 4 and half years worth of grinding.

How many hours do you have in dbd?

  • You know, you would think that for playing since late 2016 would mean I am getting close to owning every perk. Not even close, son. My friend knows someone with over 6K hours. Does he have everything? Not even close, son.

  • Oni, because he inflicts fear in me. While he is in blood furry, I am filled with adrenaline so it makes him really fun for me.

  • 1. Remove most of the pointless offerings (hook ones, luck ones, killer coins - survivor ones are fine, brown and yellow bp offerings, make the current green ones be common, moris are changed : Ebony is now green and does the same as old ivory, Ivory becomes yellow and keeps its effect and Cypress is base kit)

    2. Removed perk tiers 1 and 2, all perks now cost 5000 blood points

    3. New item shop: Bloody Favours:

    • In its screen you can see all the perks you may unlock
    • You can buy a favour for one of them for 100.000 Bloodpoints
    • Buying a Bloody Favour for a perk increases its chances to appear in Bloodwebs to 100%
    • Purchasing a perk influenced by a Favour deactivates the Favour
    • Only one Bloody Favour may be active at a time

    4. Items, addons and offerings can now be refunded for 75% of their price

  • I would be fine. 90% of the time when I use it I become exausted, get hit, and my exaustion goes away in a milisecond.

Playing the game isn't bullying. Stop with the victim mentality.

No, I won't stop. I am the victim because I lose a lot of bp and I can't get to have fun.

  • I am never exausted on the ground, since I do get exausted but I am still hit, but the exausted goes away in a milisecond. I keep dying more and more due to deadh hard simply cancelling.

Pardon the intrusion, but if I may share my opinion on the matter I completely agree with @Yords and @Pukenplag. The atmosphere / ambience was much better in the past, prior to the Realm Beyond. Of course, bringing the Fog back would help, but I don't think it is enough.

An example which shows it pretty well is Disturbed Ward. If we take its original version:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/2OD1EMTLODR1/image.png

We can see how everything looked like. Just by seeing the Fog, the general style of the map... everything looked creepy. You know this isn't natural, you know this mysterious Entity transformed this place into hunting grounds. It looks scary, it looks good.

And if we take its current version, it looks like... an empty wasteland? It doesn't feel right to me. And I believe this exact same idea applies to most, if not all, reworked maps.

Whenever I think about the old game, one thing that comes into my mind is that the ambient was dark, but buildings were generating light. This actually caused an interesting effect, because the darkness, combined with the fog, caused a horror feel. However, contrary to new Autoheaven, you could still see your surroundings due to the builidngs being in contrast with the general lighting. Also, the moon paid a very important role. It shined very bright and you could see it from anywhere. Nowdays, without fog, the horror aspect is ruined. This is due to the fact that fog obstructed your vision, and this sure helps. It is way creepier when you can't see past a certain point, rather than not seeing anything (*caugh* Autoheaven *caugh*)

If you don't mind me questioning this - I can see that you changed your opinion on the atmosphere, could you expand on that a little more if you wouldn't mind? I'd be very interested to read your opinion on that.

I personally think the same. The athmosphere was better before due to the fog. Yes, this is what you need to add back, the fog. It was the truly scary part of the game. Also, when the game launched, the hit animations and sounds looked and sounded far more realistic.

I'll stop you right there. Camping and tunneling as much as we hate it there a strategy. As for gen speeds yea they need to go a little bit slower

Sorry, rushing gens is a strategy. It ruins your fun because the game ends so fast, but still, I win easier by doing it.

Sorry, something being a strategy doesn't automatically render it ok. If you personally find it fun to be face camped 10 games in a row, I won't believe you. You never play survivor if you say that, or not enough survivor. I used to be like you. I was a killer main and I used to think camping and tunneling are ok. Decided to main survivor for a week to see how it feels. Oh boy, it is ATROCIOUS. I feel like DCing every game.

    1. EQWashu is a mod, not a developer.
    2. 'Unfun' is not a metric to balance ANYTHING. Losing is 'unfun'. If we balanced by things being 'unfun', then anything that causes someone to lose would have to be balanced or removed. Just because people don't like a perk, does not mean that perk needs fixing, removal, or nerfs.

It's called being an adult and accepting that the opponent will use perks or Killers you don't like, because they don't need your permission or input on what they use/how they play. They don't need to PM you ahead of time and ask 'Do you mind if I use Stridor? No? Oh drat! Allow me to rework my entire build before the match starts!'

    1. Mods and developers are still in a very close relation, it is just that mods don't take part in changing the game.

    2. Unfun can be a metric. A game is supposed to be fun. If there are things that ruin the fun (and no, losing isn't taken into considerstion) they should be changed. Sorry, but if you consider camping or keys ok, then you are a masochist. Nothing is fun about facing those. It makes the game feel horrible and causes loss of players.

  • @EQWashu said:

Please keep your comments civil and respectful towards one another and their posts; you can disagree about the subject without going after one another.

And a small reminder, the endorsement of Unsportsmanlike Behavior (DCing) is not permitted on the forums.

Instead of banning people for showing how annoying and unfun some things are, what if you would do something about the issue that causes that behaviour?

Both sides have to face boring and unfun behaviour. This behaviour has been the exact same for years, but you never adress it. Camping and tunneling still are issues, gen speeds are still an issue, meta not shifting is still an issue, keys are still an issue. Should I go on?

  • I absolutely love all the killer mains here. I was like them too. Now I am playing survivor too and I can't help but tell them one thing: Go and main survivor for a week. Then, tell me if camping and tunneling are ok. Dude, I don't give a ######### about dying. It's absolutely ok. What I hate is when I play it nicely, but the killer just face camps me and tunnels because... Because. Yes, the killer has to kill, but while getting gen rushed isn't fun, neither is being camped. I would love to have a fair game in which the killer did good and we both made sure the game is fun. But no, most of the time I get face camped because why not.

  • When I got the game in 2016, I already had knowledge of it for 6 months. I knew about looping and stuff. I was 8 at that time, turned 9 a day later. I wasn't speaking English at all, I am not native. Gotta say that all I knew about looping, not wasting pallets and stuff... 0 effect. I was still so scared I couldn't even dare wait at a pallet. Soon enough I learnt how to look back, my English got better (thanks to school for grammar and games for vocabulary) and I also got good at killer.

    Impressions? Fun and scary.

  • I personaly saw like 3 yesterday and one today. A lot on the last few weeks. Weird, since I never saw one before.

  • None? Just look up what current means. Belonging to the present time. 4 seconda after, that one person is 16 meters away from where the game shows you the current location is. Sorry, that is not current.

  • @TGB said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2200697#Comment_2200697

"Current" is a continuously-updating status, grammatically speaking. If I say "current," it never means anything from the past or the future. So, saying "current location for 6 seconds" LITERALLY means, according to the English language, an ongoing updated status of the present, for 6 seconds.

    Current.

4 seconds into the perk, the old location is no longer "current".

    Lol...

WHY IS THIS NOT ABSORBING??? IT'S LIKE I'M TAKING CRAZY PILLS!!!

    ----

And NOBODY in the entire thread said anything about changing the perk...

I 100% agree with what you said. That's what current means. And I also agree with the rephrasing you suggested.

  • I will be a killer. I don't care if the entity makes me a survivor, I will murder my friends untill it either makes me a killer or it throws me into the void.

As a killer, I would be able to break into a rush that ends only when I hit someone. I get the rush for 2 hits. While rushing, I can jump over stuff and climb any wall.

  • @ilovedbd123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2198785#Comment_2198785

Killers cannot choose not to chase people though, they need to chase people and keep them off gens.

Survivors can also "choose" (by the same metric) to break off from chases from the killer as they have the ability to. Killers can win by not chasing if the survivors run into them and don't heal, essentially being bots. Survivors can break chase a lot easier than killing survivors without chasing.

How does a survivor break a chase? And what do you mean about a killer can't? You just walk away and do something else.

  • @ilovedbd123 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2196130#Comment_2196130

Killers don't get bp spill, they have to do other stuff like break pallets (survivors get survival points for stuns I'm pretty sure) and kick gens (this is the equivalent of healing for survivors). Killers also get shafted if they don't do all sides of the game.

Do I believe that there should be a bp cap-yes. Maybe a bit higher per category, but none the less a cap.maybe 10k max each category.

The thing is, the equivalent would be a killer can get infinite points for chases too. They can keep chasing that one survivor for bp who isn't great at looping at get 15k off it. Is that okay? Because tbh, most people seem against that sort of #########.

Except killers can freely choose to not chase a survivor and do other things, while a survivor has pretty much no way to no longer be chased, so if the killer crushes on you, there's no way to do anything else than being chased.

  • Tbh, I 100% agree. Sometimes I have to do something, but since I can't skip the intro for some reason and I have to press space I have to spend like a minute there just to confirm the game I want to open it.

  • I will start off topic. Why did you use an apostrophe after survivor? Survivor's what? Survivor's life, happiness, what? If you are not native, just like me, no problem, you learn something new. If you are native, I am seriously curious why is it so hard to spell a plural without apostrophe, since that is only used with genitive.

Regarding the topic. PH is never really complained about. Console could get some optimization for sure, but those delays are 100% okay since they allow counterplaying from survivors. You should get better at PH, with time it can become pretty easy to land hits.

  • I 100% agree with this post. I never in my life tilted so much than this time since rank reset. I never had bigger potatoes in my team. I never got camped and tunneled so much.

Today even had a Huntress face camp me for ABSOLUTELY zero reasons (she caught me pretty easily since planet hatchets exist, was behind a log cart on red forest and she still hit me like I would have remained in the place I was 3 seconds ago)

    MMR better come VERY soon

An addon being super strong but completely reliant on RNG is not a good idea. Overblinking can be countered by looking down but it takes a lot longer to blink to that spot and it makes it a lot easier to dodge this would be a crutch for bad nurses it makes her power worse but removes skiller.

Yeah, but I still think new players should have some nice things to help them (plaid fannel can be detrimental on some maps and is generaly too sight obstructing). This addon could be fun on some more experienced killers too. Anyway, modified the description of Iridescent Stick

  • @Hoodied said:

Iridescent stick is a bad idea, an RNG hatchet could result in getting a hit stolen from you

Yeah, modified it. Only once in 5 hatchets. Indeed, a hit stolen, but remember you pretty much throw a hatchet instantly so it removes a lot of counterplay. Also, 1.5 seconds then 0.1 seconds to hit someone. Idk, doesn't seem that bad to me.

  • @Friendly_Blendette said:

    • Throw hatchet action has a 15% chance to not work, causing basic attacks and hatchet throws to be disabled for 1.5 seconds

please no more RNG the last thing I want is not being able to use my power or even m1 for several seconds a game.

    • Realising the blink before it is fully charged cancells the blink action
    • When the blink is fully charged, immediatly start blinking
    • While blinking, release the power button to stop blinking

Also a pretty bad idea it just removes skill of knowing how much to charge blinks and also removes some counterplay of making the nurse overblink.

Overblinking is easily countered by looking down. This addon increases the overall time required to blink, so short quick blinks no longer are a thing.

About the hatchet, actually it would make sense to get that effect only once, then 3 more times with no chance to not throw etc. Still, the addon is super strong, you can instantly injure someone (combine that with a flight speed addon)

    Add-on for Blight:

    • The Blight will no longer slide across objects during his rush

"Who left all this grease here anyway?"

Wonderfull, I would 100% run this, only if it worked (which it wouldn't)

    Huntress :

    Iridescent Head becomes Iridescent Stick:

A very light stick to which the hatchet's head is attached. Requires little to no effort to lift, but it is also pretty greasy so it's easy to lose it from your hand.

    • Hatchets' wind-up time is reduced to 0.1 seconds
    • Tremendously increases cooldown between hatchet throws
    • Slightly increases recovery time after a hatchet throw
    • Throw hatchet action has a 15% chance to not work, causing basic attacks and hatchet throws to be disabled for 1.5 seconds

    Nurse:

    Torn bookmark:

A torn bookmark that used to remind you of where to start. It still can be used to do this, but it's no longer pretty.

    • Realising the blink before it is fully charged cancells the blink action
    • When the blink is fully charged, immediatly start blinking
    • While blinking, release the power button to stop blinking

  • IMO, I think a 20 min game timer would be just fine. It goes untill EGC triggers.

EGC changes: Now triggers when gates are powered, is stopped while gates are being opened. Killers only see the timer after a gate is opened.

  • Myers. He desperatly needs a whole rework. Then Spirit. She can't be nerfed, since any nerf that makes her fair for survivors make her trash. So I would say just change her power. Same goes with Trickster, will never be balanced.

  • @NightmareKiller said:

But if you didn't do anything but getting chased why do you think you deserve a reward or more points in other categories? If the killer only chases he's gonna get Entity Displeased. Scores, Bloodpoints and pips depend on the other side too. A gen rushing team with a key that loves hiding is gonna ######### over the killer score and they get zero points for searching around for a survivor. Hell, the killer killing everyone fast ######### with his score and bloodpoints.

It's funny, survivors love claiming they don't have any other objective but doing gens, and then they complain about being chased by the killer. Distracting him, surviving him, keeping him away from others, etc is an objective too.

You failed to lose the killer and get on a gen. You failed to pass the killer around to another survivor.

Why do you think you deserve points in other categories you refuse to participate in because you looped the killer in some haddonfield infinite with balanced landing?

Yes, he deserves them. If he is a good looper and the killer doesn't lose him, he can't do anything the entire game. Stop being like this, he is 100% right. We all know the classic survivor match in which the killer is only after you. Why do I deserve to get punished for being bullied by the other side?

Sorry, untill yesterday, when I got back to playing survivor, I was a pretty selfish killer. But now, I actually see how trash solo q is and what pain it brings.

  • Same experience today. Played over 15 matches and no escape. Tried all sorts of builds. Self centered ones, highly altruistic ones, gen rush ones etc. In each match, I can't get past 3 gens done. I could be looping the killer 10, 30, 120 seconds and still no gen is done, since everyone is hiding in bushes.

Absolute pain. After many years of gaming, this was my first time I ended up punching the table and alt f4.

  • The patch that was active in December 2016 when I joined (neverthless, I know the game since May 2016). Reasons:

    1. The game was truly scary. No, not because I was new. Even now, when I look at old footage, I get chills. The fog must return to all of the maps.

    2. No Dead Hard. Periodt.

    3. Christmas bug (Equiping survivor perks as the killer and vice versa, stacking perks, changing powers)

    4. A far less toxic community. A far less devided community. This game taught me a lesson, never make any asymmetrical game in my life. If I do it, each side will have its mains, that will hate the other. Really wish we were less separated and viewed things objectively.

  • @bunnypup said:

What, you JUST provided examples where you DC'd NOT on death hook, and even if you were, just give the killer their points.

If you didn't need ANY help getting out and have that much experience, there's a bigger issue going on with you if you can't manage your anger/salt playing with low ranks/bad teammates or you're just in denial. Also, ever consider your brown/yellow ranked teammates aren't good because they haven't played as long as you? Consider therapy if you keep finding that every poor teammate is out there to personally ruin your gaming experience. If you understand they're NOT personally attacking you, then reconsider your life choices and attitude.

Lol, I love your reply. Yeah, I think anyone can get fed up. I've been gone outside for a bit now, and if I would be to get back, I would do just fine and not get angry. Sorry if I seemed agressive or toxic, I'm not a bad person.

Yeah, you are right. I left the gen a while before, and after a short time I came back, she was doing it alone, as I was about to get on it she blocks it.

I stopped reading when you said you are 'bored of getting 4ks'.

You know, people like you are the problem in the game. The kind of people who can't take it easy, as if their life depends on it. As if someone would come into your home and kill your loved ones if you don't sweat for the red rank.

Just relax, for crying out loud. Take it easy, try out new builds, try out new killers.

I don't have new killers to try out. Builds? Yeah, I would, but I still have too many perks unowned, as I keep getting only trash perks and their upgrades.

Yes, I got bored of 4ks, because they were just undeserved and the result of trash enemies (yes, a tough word, but you can't deny a new player is bad). Opposed to what people would think, I prefer facing bully squads. Killing them feels so good and it is a good challange. Stomping bores me.

    @bunnypup said:

If you can't handle playing SOLO as Solo survivor, don't do it. There is no excuse for DC'ing. Seriously. If you're stuck in terrible ranks due to rank reset and find it hard to deal with the teammates that accompany, there is no other option but to toughen your skin, get as good as you can get, and/or grind to get out. The red rank solo survivor experience is night and day from brown/yellow...

Here's my actual survivor advice to climb out of bad-teammate-ranks. Since you're say you're stomping as killer, farm BP with killer so you can utilize survivor(s) equipped with high rarity toolboxes + BNP and high charge medkits. Play as gen focused as possible and trust your teammates to be altruistic for you. Your goal will be to:

    1. DO NOT GO DOWN FIRST no matter what.
    2. Get 1 gen done as fast as you can before you personally go down.

There are plenty of perk builds that can help you achieve this. Example of a decent all arounder: Dead Hard or Sprint Burst / Spine Chill / Kindred / Whatever Else You Want as the Fourth

You cannot control your teammates. You can control your attitude, and you can control the amount of effort you put into maximizing your own gameplay. If you don't have a SWF group to bail you out of dookie ranks, souring your attitude and mental thickness by DC'ing like a baby will not help you.

I think you missunderstood me. I don't need any help to get out of low ranks, after 1k+ hours gained since 2016 I am capable of getting out. I got here because I got reset like 15 ranks. I don't care if you say there's no excuse for a dc. Dc on the death hook, sorry, no disadvantage to my team. I don't care about ruining the games of 12 people that ruined mine.

Try not taking the game so seriously that you have to disconnect to show your displeasure. The issue isn't getting better with your toxic action. If better gamers is what you want then maybe try adapting to the situation rather than throwing gas on it.

Sorry, but at this point me DCing isn't even toxic anymore. Everyone has their own limits. These teammates went too much over it. How do I adapt to these situations, when no one is doing gens while I am chased, because they are too afraid of the killer?

  • Oh and I forgot to mention. In the Myers game, our Yui had repressed aliance. We were close to doing a gen, but as soon as she saw myers downing someone on the other side of the map, she used the perk. That gen was never finished again.

  • No, he is right. I loop the Plague for 3 mins, no gen done. I get caught, Claudette unhooks me and desperatly tries to heal me while fully infected. While on hook, I observed Dwight crouching on the other side of the map. This is as survivor.

As killer, I had only one match in which I didn't get a 4k. It was because someone DC.

  • What have I just witnessed. periodt

  • I just had a match eith plague on Coal Tower. I found what i think is a Badham rework tier totem. It was almodt impossible to see, unless you really go within a very special angle (and then you can see a tiny bit of it). That's what I think totem spawns should be, well hidden.

If not this, at least make a minimum distance a hex can be from a survivor spawn location.

  • I would be a killer. Sorry, I prefer murdering since it isn't real life and I don't pay for it and it would be much less painfull. I would also probably choose to have some kind of a parkour power and running.

  • Good idea and you have a props from me. Too bad your thread got moved to F&S sub-forum, so no one will see it anymore.

  • I unlocked shadowborn so I can have it on Nurse (can't say it helps me too much, but I LOVE going max blink range with that huge FOV). After 50+ levels past level 50 I still have to find it. I have a lot of Kenneth's and Heavy Pantings saved for the grand moment.

I vote for an FOV slider.

  • I personally only watched re7 and I'm close to finishing a re8 stream.

Tbh, I think Donna would make a great killer. Not iconic, but I think anyone that's played/seen her segement from re8 can agree it is just pure terror. I would like seeing her work like Myers or Oni, her final form being the baby. Let's be honest, that thing can easily make a place in a top 10 scariest creatures in horror history.

As for survivors, I see why people would want Chris, Leon or Claire. But... Considering game lore, since (SPOILER ALERT)

Ethan is dead, it would make much more sense to get him a survivor. He also fits this theme more, and I can't wait to see a perk realted to his hand treatment.

  • I personally removed AA through the config file long ago. It is way sharper, but full of pixels. The hair looks like pixel spaghetti. Even though this happens, it's still much better than this blurry șit.

  • No, you can't get banned. Devs said they don't ban, anti cheat doesn't check the folders were the perks are.

  • New status effect: Imminent Danger

When afflicted by this status effect, the survivors can be killed.

    True Obsession:

Your dedication to killing a specific survivor makes you take a different approach.

You become obsessed with one survivor.

    Your Obsession is Exposed.

    Prevents the obsession from changing.

When you hook a survivor, you gain a token. When a generator is completed, you consume all the tokens. For each token, all survivors within 36 meters of the Obsession when the generator is completed become afflicted with the Imminent Danger status effect for 20/25/30 seconds.

If a survivor is killed with the help of True Obsession, the perk deactivates for 90 seconds.
