Well, for starters, how many times has RNG spawned exit gates basically right next to each other? As a last survivor, what's the point of even trying at this point?

Also, how would EGC start? Just as soon as the last gen gets done? What happens if all gens don't get done because the killer offed 2-3 survivors beforehand? Does EGC just randomly start as soon as you're the last survivor? What about people who want to farm? I've had plenty of times where a killer took pity on me because I was the only one doing anything and let me do a handful of gens and other things to get points. Does that not happen now because EGC just randomly starts in this scenario? It just seems needlessly complicated and weird.

I know there are also plenty of times I've played where questionable teammates throw the game basically from the beginning. Hatch gives people an incentive to stay in the game, regardless of what's going on. I'm not a DCer, but I feel without something like this, you'd see more DCs from survivors frustrated that they never had any chance to begin with.

It is fairly simple. As soon as you are the last survivor, EGC starts and the gates are powered. Basically, just as if the killer closed the hatch. The farming part is not an argument, farming in general is not meant to exist so there shouldn't be balancing around it.

Edit: I mentioned in the post, add a rule that a gate can't spawn less than 60 meters away from the other one.

Also, as it seems you didn't understand me. Replace the hatch with an instant EGC and gates powering when there's one survivor remaining. The hatch also doesn't spawn anymore if there is more than one person alive, it just doesn't exist.

As the last guy, your last resort is opening the exit gate, not looking around the map and then most likely open the exit gate.

  • @scenekiller said:

Hatch needs to stay in the game for a variety of reasons, but a few changes could really help balance everything:

    1. Keys can slightly speed up exit gate times, as you suggested
    2. Keys require time to open the hatch as well
    3. Hatch is not visible until all gens are done or until one survivor is left

With these two changes, survivors would have to think about which use of their key they want to try, and killer wouldn't have to worry about instant hatch escapes even if they've already closed it.

I think these two things could make both keys and the hatch more bearable overall.

And what is that variety of reasons? Outside people feeling attached to it and achievements, what else?

  • If you can't bring an argument, just don't reply, please.

  • @LethalPugy said:

This would literally ruin the fun of killer games for me. I usually kill everyone before all gens are done.

It would just mean someone would is stealthing around a gen until they prolong their deaths.

    No thanks.

Oh also it’d make some survivors give up when they know they can’t do all gens. Hatch is a needed mechanic as it also checks the survivors thoughts.

Save the other the survivor on struggle or get hatch?

It adds such depth to the game and removing it would take lots of depth with it. Hard pass.

I think you clearly missed my point. The hatch goes, but you still have the gates active and can use them to escape as the last guy. However, now you have a limited amount of time and it is no longer a gamble of who finds the hatch first.

  • *Something because my comment had to be approved and now I don't know how to delete it*

  • @nicnc82 said:

They can't change achievements as easy on console. And that pretty much would guarantee killers a kill endgame with many killers. The hatch can stay and should stay. This coming from a killer main

As the last survivor, you are not entitled to win. You should have very low chances to do so. As I said, simply make it so the gates can't spawn close one to another. And yes, as I said, they can change them if they become unobtainable. And even if it takes them 2 years to change the achievement, it is not a game priority if you ask me.

  • Yes they can if they are now unobtainable, this was stated many times.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/241520/just-remove-the-hatch

Was gonna call you a troll, but this is ok.

But hatch is necessary for challenges so they won't get rid of it.

    It sucks.

Challanges and achievements can get changed, it happened before.

  • @Mugombo said:

It should be even more common considering the amount of tunnelling and camping in the game

Imagine this scenario: You repaired 2 gens, working on the third, the killer still has to find anyone. Suddenly, the killer finds a box on the map, holds m1 at it for a few seconds, then, 3 survivors in your team get killed by the entity like in egc. Do you seriously think this should be very common considering the amount of gen rushing in the game?

  • I think the bug comes from the fact that when you drop a pallet the game checks if you have smash hit, and most of the time this bugs the stun.

  • @Orion said:

I play both side why should survivor have a perk that may never get used just have obsession in game just to scare the killer in to think we have ds no killer perk where we use it just so survivors think we have it.

Because if the point of DS is to prevent tunneling and having an obsession prevents tunneling, then DS has achieved its purpose, even if you never get to stun the killer. Read my post about human behavior and the fact that humans change tactics.

Then why would I run ds instead of any other obsession perk? I will get a use out of them, unlike ds.

  • @Komi said:

So let me get this straight, bringing DS makes the killer avoid tunneling, and bringing it means you'll be tunneled?

Unless you're saying the lack of an obsession will make every single killer decide its tunnel time, doesn't that mean its working as an anti-tunnel perk?

Except you can bring any other obsession perk that will make the killer think there's a ds and also you get a use out of that perk. This is why I say it is useless.

  • @Hektic3000 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2090642#Comment_2090642

If you have time to progress the game(working on a gen or healing) then you shouldn't be worried about the killer doing the same(hooking and killing survivors). Killers shouldn't be punished for simply doing their objective even if you deem it unfair.

It isn't unfair. I am very happy old ds is gone. However, as I said, just make any action deplete the ds time very fast (like, if you g9 to a gen, from 60 seconds i becomes a 6 second timer). Just speed it up very much when doing any action. I have time if the killer is breaking a pallet, that doesn't make me less tunneled.

  • @gibblywibblywoo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/241051/the-ds-paradox-explained-to-everyone

First off. Obssession should be base kit, every game. No reason not to. As someone that doesn't need to tunnel seeing a red rank killer blatantly tunnel someone straight out of the game leaves a sour taste in my mouth and makes for an incredibly dull match.

Second I think they should have gone with a scaling bar. Start fixing a gen? DS drains at a 3/400% increased rate. I think its pretty stupid that simply tapping a gen cancels it entirely. Also making it so it disables when healed makes some player refuse heals and basically throw the game.

Or make it so that in cases of actual tunneling it just doesn't tick down whilst being chased and not slugged. Most tunneling killers are objectively bad at the game when you sit back and watch, but will eventually get the kill simply through attrition.

If you ask me personaly, if I'm tunneled I still have time to gen tap, that doesn't make me less tunneled. After I drop a pallet, I have enough time to heal the remaining 2% on the downed survivor and while looping I can heal, doesn't make me less tunneled. A huge increase in the drain makes sense if you ask me. But really high.

  • @Mr_K said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2090596#Comment_2090596

Sounds like having those keybindings the same would get you killed. Regardless if you have DS or not.

A milisecond self heal barely ever mattered. But now it does matter.

  • Because as I found out it is way easier to use my mouse for skill checks and actions, my personal preference. Tbh self healing is the only action I don't agree for the ds nerf. The rest is ok.

  • @Seraphor said:

"You have ds, there is an obsession so the killer no longer tunnels and now ds doesn't have any benefits so you have a wasted perk slot."

It's preventing you from getting tunnelled isn't it?

Imo, they should just make the obsession appear each game. This way you don't need an obsession perk to make the killer be afraid of tunneling.

  • @Ramxenoc445 said:

It being deactivated on self healing needs to be changed to be a full heal. If you've started healing you could yes argue you're not being tunneled but say you start healing and killer decides to come tunnel you now because they see you've been unhooked or see you started healing yourself. You get tunneled for free now and the perk fails you. This wouldn't be abusable either because you still can't do gens without losing it nor heal others.

To me the nerf is just horrible becauss for accessibility reasons I actually changed the drop pallet or vault to m1 from space. Some times I accidentally self heal instead of droping the pallet. And then I lose my ds

  • Imo I think I found nice Claudettes like 5 times in almost 5 years of playing the game. They are either ninja mode and ignore their teammates, or they simply spam the flaslights and call you a baby killer because they died to you.

  • @TheWarNung said:

As someone who can't survive matches with my 4% kobe, I think Monstrous Shrine is totally BS.

I think just bringimg it into a match is toxic and should be bannable.

Stop trying to troll. Monstruous is the most trash perk this game ever saw. 4% becomes 3.4%. 120 seconds death time becomes 111 seconds, and 3 default chances become 3 due to the increased penalty. What a joke lol.

  • @FFirebrandd said:

uh... you got a pretty terrible assortment of perks there. If you don't want to go for the end game build, I'd recommend Rancor, Devour Hope, Dragon's Grip, and... Cruel Limits? Maybe?

Tbh the end game build did its job. Went against a bully squad. One of them was a claud spamming the flashlight. Got to 4 dh tokens, while I could barely hook people due to the bodyblocks and flashlight saves. While I was carrying the claud during egc, a bill popped in my face and I got him with dh. After hooking the claud for bw, picked bill up and let him escape my grasp to run to the exit. He ran into my bw and I killed him. After that he told me I am a baby killer and a camper. Indeed, camper, when 4 of my 6 hooks got me dh stacks, while the other 2 were death hooks.

  • Just got undying. My current build is BW, undying, dh and rancor. It's ######### but can have a use.

  • @NomiNomad said:

You just got RNG'ed. Hope you have fun grinding for anything remotely useful! A fun build might be Nemesis, Rancor, Blood Warden and Remember me. Just a very bad, memey build.

    Also-

    Spirit Furry.

    Terrifying.

Nemesis considering the pallet bug... No chance lol

  • Honestly, they really should do somehting like this: make dying way less punishing, and make killers very deadly. Why? Because this would bring back the horror aspect of the game. It would feel like you have a chance to escape, but you must do your best. Also, punish killers more for not getting kills. This would turn the balance over. You have the killer chasing you, you don't last long and there's no situation in which they give up on chasing because you are spinning around something.

I'm a killer main, and that is because I find it scarier to go against a bully squad than going against a Korean idol that can't stop maiking noises. I want the scary aspect back. That's what the game needs.

Oni was a great addition. After all the time he's been out, I still shake my hands while chased by a blood furry oni. We need more killers that make you never feel safe.

For the most part it's up to the survivors if you get to use your power, plus you have to be lucky enough to find anybody once you use your corrupt purge. She's great if you get her to work, but it's hard to make that happen from my experience. But I'm guessing you play a decent amount of Plague so I'll trust you since I haven't played her in forever.

Even if they don't cleanse, as I said, they are off to a huge disadvantage. You are an m1 insta down killer, but the survivors also tell you constantly where they are if you get close, they are a green cloud making crying sounds and vomiting around, while also causing everything it interacts with to become green, making hiding imposible.

  • I knew the game since May 2016, so a few weeks before the launch. Only got to buy it in December the same year. However, I had huge knowledge of the game beforehand.

I launched the game. It took me 8 hours to get me in it, since my old laptop was trash and it couldn't even run the game. However, my cousin, a programmer, manged to fix it after all that time. As I got in a match, I was on ultra automatically. 8 fps, managed to get it to low 0% res. 25 fps (and yes, out of my 1000 hours, around 700-800 happened on 25 fps)

I was Meg, on the asylum. I remember that although I knew I should look behind when chased, loop the killer and stuff, I didn't. I was so damn scared that would drop pallets every time I saw one. It took me like 24 hours to learn how to look behind, for us, the more experienced players it is easy to do so, but it is actually pretty hard to do it as a beginner if you think about it. My firsr killer match was Nurse, 0k. I think only in January I managed to firstly get kills or escape.

I have so much nostalgia when I think about everything that happened in the game. I remember how I felt when I learnt that in the full game there will be a killer that can down you with one hit---scary. I thought new killers would look like trapper, they would just be able to become invisible or use a chainsaw. I don't miss the suffocation pit infinite tho.

Each tier is ordered from strongest to weakest in that tier (left to right)

Plague is definetly B or low A tier atm. You have a killer that lets you choose between the hardest ranged attack to dodge that can also hit multiple people and being exposed the whole match while also making some stupid sounds, emiting green clouds and leaving blood pools everywhere. Not to mention you also can't use props to escape. Also, plague has the kind of godly addons for her power. #BlackIncenseOP

  • The only thing that I really think they should change about her is the fact that after the last gen is done, your traps are useless. I would just make it how it was before, they activate automatically after the last gen is done.

  • Adrenaline, DS, BT, Empathy. Would change Empathy to DH or UB, but guess what, after 60+ levels past level 50 I still didn't get them.

Same issue I have on my Plague (main killer). After leveling her 100+ levels past level 50 I still have to use Franklin's and NOED, because they are the only usefull perks I have, after Ruin and Corrupt. I still dream I will get BBQ and Whispers, but never say never I guess 💁.

I love people like you. Why shouldn't the op play videogames? The flashlight spam is absolutely not necessary for the game and it is usually bm. No one is craving attention here. No one can know they have epilepsy, but there is still no need for the flashlight spam and it should be removed in a way or another.

Nowdays, if someone has a medical issue and they raise awarness about accessibility problems with a game they like, it is called craving attention.

My previous reply can just be copy pasted here again, you said nothing new.

    "He obviously means"

    copy paste:

"I dont care what people say, im sure 90% of the players don't pay attention or could not care less about what they say....."

If you want to read that as "I and others want to know exactly what players type/are saying" then you go right ahead but that is not what that sentence states.

and I also did already reply to the thread as well:

    copy paste:

And the reason it wasnt implemented is pretty obviously because BHVR does not want any childish swearing in their game, thats it, does not matter if you want to use or hear/read it, they dont want it in their game.

Copy paste: Not being able to understand what people want to say when they make it clear is as bad as not being able to say it clear.

He obviously means that many people don't care about what others say, meaning that he doesn't care if you call him names. He doesn't care if you are being abusive in the chat.

There's a difference between "I don't care about the chat" and "I don't care what people say". I don't care here means that it doesn't affect me, not that I don't look at it.

Anyway, it's kind of clear you are just trolling. Instead of correcting an entirely correct statement, what about you actually say what you think about the topic?

If I call something a "thingy" and point at a chair, I'm sure everyone can figure out im talking about the chair, that however does not make it correct.

Pretty odd how strongly you react to getting pointed towards (slight) mistakes in your phrasing, makes me feel it might not be a good thing at all to have the chat be revealed to you tbh....

    second time you contradicted yourself:

"Just let us turn it off. People barely know that games even have a settings menu to begin with so only the people who want it off will even bother to look for it. I fail to see how this wasn't implemented in the first place."

    >Let us turn it off

    >people barely know that games even have a settings menut to begin with

makes a lot of sense to add a feature already just for those who want to turn it off and then reduce that size even further to the (by your own statement) very tiny portion that knows about settings and can be bothered to turn it off.

And the reason it wasnt implemented is pretty obviously because BHVR does not want any childish swearing in their game, thats it, does not matter if you want to use or hear/read it, they dont want it in their game.

You're making yourself look like a clown. Read once more. I don't care means it doesn't bother me. It doesn't bother the OP if someone swears so he doesn't want the chat filter to be active for him. Stop nitpicking, nothing from what he said is wrong.

    1. Just ignore my acknowledgements that it is overbearing and needs to be adjusted. Also "meghead" "this game is dumb" are also censored.
    2. I didn't say anything about cuss words unless you consider racism and homophobic slurs to be cuss words.
    3. Don't understand that last part, why would I come out inside a video game to a friend. What a weird thing to bring up.

For 3: I, myself, always chat all kinds of stuff with my friends in dbd, and many times things can go in a strange direction. There are hundreds of situations when you could use gay as a non-offensive word.

Also, in my 990 hours of dbd, spent since 25.12.2016, I only saw a racial slur 2-3 times. Never saw any homophobic statements, just curse words. With which I have 0 problems.

But now I can't enjoy the endgame chat without Yun-Jin being censored.

I actually have used the new system and read the comments. In my opinion if you don't want the game to be censored you support being racist and homophobic towards other players. Cheers.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2060561#Comment_2060561

They did say the censored word list can be adjusted and tweaked to not be overbearing but assuming as a first time rollout to live servers its better to be too overbearing rather than too little. I'm not saying it doesn't need to be adjusted but flat out removed is a no no.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2060569#Comment_2060569

Better that its too overturned rather than not enough. Besides they can adjust it from their side really easily. Straight up removing is a no deal and if you want it straight up removed you support that sort of bigotry.

If wanting to have a normal conversation in which I don't see stars instead of words like "down" makes me a racist, homophobe and all the other things you said, yes I will gladly declare myself racist and homophobe. I am happy to know that you like an overtuned filter. If I write "f uck you Myers" the output will be "f uck you *****". Does this seem to you how it should work?

I was never and I am not a sensitive person. If you take curse words seriously in the online area, you clearly should consider growing harder skin.

Also, I didn't test this out yet, but if let's say you have a very good friend and you are by chance gay, will you get censored if you come out to him? I didn't know comming outs were homophobia from the gay person's part.

  • @th3 said:

Sucks people are upset about not seeing racism or homophobic/offensive messages in post game chat. Weird. Not only that but saying it’s a mature game so it doesn’t need censorship is moronic. I did not agree to the eula to see racism or rude messages. This filter is a bad thing for people who like saying that I guess. Also clearly adjustments need to be made but I’m glad this game has a filter now.

It needs an overhaul. At the moment it blocks words like "Myers" "down" "knight" etc. Why knight? It has nig in it. Also, I never use the filters when the game offers me them. Why? I can't understand the message when I see stars instead of letters.

  • That's the smallest problem. The issue is that it is supposed to censor bad words, I didn't know that Myers and "downed/downs" are bad words. *DOWNING* people is part of the game's main purpose, yet it is censored.

  • @NateyBoi said:

a little confused at first, but I know get it. So, a fuse panel is kinda like a ruin that doesn’t regress just blocks, ok, I like it. It looks a little op, if their was a way survivors can Destroy a fuse box so the gen wouldn’t get blocked, I think that would be cool. If they then finish destroying the fuse box for a while, then it just takes more time to do their tasks. Sorry, I might be confusing: a survivor might be able to counter a fuse box by destroying it, which takes time and removes the disabled effect for that connected gen, then working on more fuse boxes and gens. I think that would be cool, since it might take longer for the survivors to do their tasks!

Pretty good idea, maybe just add a little wiggle room for survivors, and still make it easy for killers! Pretty good job tho!

I will actually change the original post a bit. Instead of 60 seconds, there will be 90 seconds after a pannel is repaired again. This way, you have 10 seconds to go to generator and fully repair it on your own. Another important thing: when a pannel is broken, the coresponding generators can't have any interaction, so you can't kick them and ruin also won't work.

Secondly, my bad. I misinterpreted that you played for 20 hours then came back a year later. But as you said you're around rank 12, there's nothing wrong with that. But These survs are still learning let alone and can be a bad proof of a killers competance. Don't get me wrong, a good nurse would definitely destroy them survs. But since you said you haven't played high ranks. You haven't met a challenge therefore aren't learning her weaknesses. Not just that the green ranks do tend to be too altruistic as you said costing them the game.

The thing is that the game puts me mostly against red ranks. This is, perhaps, due to SWF teaming with lower ranks. I faced genrush instablinds hundreds of times. With Nurse, I have no trouble catching them. That's why I don't see why she is supposedly so hard.

Imo, all of this get understood with a bit of playtime. I would rather say that nurse is hard to pick up, medium to start understanding her and very hard to master.

Love when people judge killer strength by playing one or two games in brown to purple ranks.

I would like it to be so, but at rank 10 I constantly get matched with 2-3 red ranks.

If you only have 20 hours in the game, your not going to verse proper players so she is not as hard for you get to around purple, and tell us how easy she is again

There are other things they surfs can do. Hug the tile, leave the tile, spin in place to think that they are double backing and hold W, double backing randomly, running in odd ways, moonwalking, did they commit to the W, are they waiting, and all of this is when you double back.

Along with dealing with this, the nurse will have to find out what kind of survivor they are, the pure W key gamer , or the the double back everytime survivor. At least making the first chase slower than it needs to be. After that, it depends on the survival she's got all the info from the first chase and is relying on your past playstyle. Good survs will change their previous playstyle confusing her. Making her repeat the process.

Running in a straight line Is a good counter as well. This will cause her to take a while to catch up, eventually getting near you to use her second blink, and if she fails she must go through the catch up process again.

Stealth is a big one, that a lot of people have to learn. Sure you may think it's boring but it waste her time so your teammates can pump out gens. Also don't react to her terror radius and move them. Move when the scratches get closer.

As you mentioned the "pallet walls windows" these can also be used properly. What side did they go on the pallet? Did they leave the pallet? Are they on the pallet? But this doesn't mean camp them. Instead try to throw it as soon as possible or leave it.

Fake the vault. If she can't see you slow vault, vault twice. But if you have no intention to use the vault make sure she doesn't see you through it, for e.g. if your getting chased at a short wall jungle gym don't run past, run around that short wall at the back as you would as if there was a huntress winding up.

Walls. Each and every one of them can have a different hitbox. Some have crates or boxes on the other side, so be are extra thick, some may be next to another wall, or even if your prediction is perfect on the nurse you can body block her blink. Making her blink nowhere. These can mess up your predictions.

These are some things she has to face.

    I have 1000 hours not 20.

Thirdly, yes, I've been to the ranks where survivors believe they're gods and invincible. With nurse, at least, I have never had any issues with them. Now as I came back, I played killer and got them to rank 10 before the reset and now I'm at 12. I'm here because I really don't care about kills and I play even the most trash killers just for fun. But with nurse I don't have issues pipping.

As someone has asked this, no, I don't want to prove she is easy, I ask why she is said to be hard since all I've needed was a fundamental understanding of killers and a 1-2 hours spent on her.

Perhaps it was the fact that in 2016 people still were afraid of the killer, thus, I could learn easier.

I've encountered many overly-altruistic SWF groups, no issues 4k-ing them with nurse.

  • I've got plenty of moon bouquets and brown or yellow map offerings. Right now I can't prestige Myers, Jake, Freddy, or Billy. And I think even more. This is so sad...
