Thats depressing to know, maybe it really is bugged...
If that's the case it baffles me why a mod hasn't said anything for 4 straight days when this thread has been on the front page for most of that time.
And since it's now the weekend we won't hear anything else till Monday at the earliest.
-
Some people have said you have to wait 7 days after owning one of the two characters. I've only seen one person who didn't own any DLC get the charm. Is it happening to tons of people?
Most people who say they got it own at least one of them.
-
Yes it's been happening to people after the recent update.

Seems like it's 7 days to the exact time you bought it. I bought the DLC around 4 pm Tuesday last week. When I logged in earlier, I didn't have the charm. Logged in 20 minutes ago and I got the video intro and the charm. So it seems like it's time sensitive right down to the last minute.
Someone else said their friend bought the DLC today and recieved the charm.

No, it seems very unreasonable to have even one person on call in the eventuality of such a trivial matter. It's a waste of money. Besides, just for the sake of argument : as MandyTalk pointed out, this kind of issue requires a lead and you don't put a lead on call. This is usually grunt work.
This is a pretty rare occurrence and it would be even less of an issue if less noise had been made about it.
Some games may have survivors exploiting this. Big deal, how worse is it that the plethora of cheaters plaguing the game?
That's why I said my agreement depends solely on what the issue is. Regardless companies should always have people in place to fix (or bandaid fix if possible) severe issues on weekends. A company would be smart to do so.

Their employees having a life is killing the game? Are you for real?
This is a live service game. That means issues can arise any day of the week.
It is not unreasonable to have just a couple (or even just one) employees rotating weekends as an "on call" person who can quickly do a bandaid fix on issues until the team returns on Monday.
BHVR is a company who wants to make money. They know their players, they know that most people play more often on the weekends. Which is why they always did the blood hunts on weekends as well. Obviously they'd want to make sure the game is working properly on the weekends even more so then the weekdays.
Now my agreement on this topic depends solely on what issue people are complaining about and how severe it is. Somethings can wait until Monday, some things can't (or shouldn't).
-
Some of your examples are licensed characters and BHVR and most likely the license holders want those characters reflected like they are in their source material.
Some other sets cause visual bugs or gaps in the body as well. However, I am all for unlinking heads and weapons specifically, as they rarely cause clipping issues.
When BHVR initially made the announcement for sets, they specifically said they were cosmetics consisting of "2-3" pieces. So I'm not sure why they haven't committed to that yet and made 2 piece sets.
-
I still think it's ridiculous the carry animation is the same as all the other killers.
Hers should be unique and the Survivors can be holding their neck like they're getting choked while being carried to the hook.
-
Don't even get me started on how the new Sadako cosmetic is Ultra Rare when it should be Very Rare.

My first reaction was that it sucked buttocks.
It looks really cheap and it doesn't even look like a standard "Ultra Rare" outfit.
I think it looks pretty good. I just don't agree it needs to be an Ultra Rare.

As much as I hate this lazy community argument, it’s probably because of the money and BHVR and the license holder decided it because of that… and I don’t mean it in a way to blame them. IMO this is legitimate as it’s just an optional skin..
I understand the need for the higher price on those rarities. However, I remember Peanits I believe at one point had discussed the meaning of both Legendary and Ultra Rare cosmetics, I can't remember his exact words but from what I can remember here it is simplified:
Legendary cosmetics are a completely different model and character altogether, usually (always?) licensed.
Ultra Rare cosmetics are a completely different character, but not licensed, and usually originate from folklore. Like the Minotaur, Baba Yaga, and Krampus.
This Sadako skin doesn't fit either of those requirements, so I don't see an argument that makes sense aside from just wanting more money. It's just Sadako after they find her in the well. It's still her, just more gruesome.
I've always hated when BHVR doesn't stick to the criteria that they themselves have created. Like when they made Ghostface an actual chapter instead of a paragraph when in the past they had established that a paragraph was a singular character while a chapter contained two.
Perhaps the license holder requested this? But I wouldn't understand why, unless they just said "make this skin the highest price that you can".
Edit: I am agreeing with you by the way, this comment is largely just for anybody else who comes across this thread to see.

Would that be the first time where three survs get challenges? Well. guess in the end it’s only leaks/rumours that can change until it goes live…
Of course, always take leaks with a grain of salt, however leaks are rarely ever wrong. And if there is a change, they usually actually post about it before the change has even gone live.
For example, they would be able to see if BHVR removes/changes a character in the files before the update would even drop. And they're pretty quick to inform their community about it.
-
@Mooks said:
is it being officially confirmed that David is the one that will be the main surv featured next tome?
i remember that once it was rumored that Claudette would get a second tome after being in the first but then she was just the secondary surv, with some challenges and charms but no new tome entries..
According to leaks David and the Twins will be the two characters that will be getting Lore.
Feng, Jeff, and the Legion will be the characters getting only challenges, but no Lore.

Funny picture I went through the store and couldn't find the head the guy used but it was David Kings voice %100.
It was most likely James Sutherlands head. His voice probably sounds very similar to David's.
-
I would imagine they announce it so early because otherwise it's likely to get leaked out. They would rather they announce it early then let leakers do it.

Freddy is because of strict licensing, but I believe Ghostface is BHVR's original character? Not a licensed Ghosty if I'm not mistaken.
The character is but the mask is licensed so anything they do with the mask has to go through the rights holders.
Which his mask is involved in all of his cosmetics.
-
I'm not so sure the Legendary skin is the American version. I mean it could be, but that means BHVR would have also had to acquire the rights to use that version, which means paying that company to also set up a contract with them.
Seems like a lot of work just for a skin that's already attached to a large well known IP.

If you could change Victor with skins that would be so cute lol.
Honestly think that Charlotte in a wedding dress and Victor in a tux would be a cute cosmetic.
Obviously Victor is just a guest and not the groom lmao

I like how they gave voice to other skins like Cybil Bennett and Lisa Garland, I hope this means Susie and Joey could get they own voice.
I doubt they will. Not only are their faces covered but their cosmetics don't cost more then any of the other normal cosmetics.
At least with the legendary ones, the price really did warrant other effects like a unique voice.
-
Give Victor cute outfits

Yeah cybel and Lisa got unique voices in this patch. Both sound pretty good from my listening
I'm not crazy about Lisa's. I wish it wasn't so high pitched. Especially when she's struggling it sounds like she's a literal child.

The Twins cosmetic baffled me the most. I can't even begin to figure out why that one is linked. All the others, I can at least guess which part is the problem.
Hair clipping is very minor on the whole. Like, the new Plague butterfly headdress clips through her hair on bodies that don't have a veil draped over her head It still looks fine. It's pretty common on unlinked pieaces that some hairs go through shoulders a bit, or rest on invisible surfaces that are set higher than what you're currently wearing. It's not that noticeable.
Even in cases where it does go straight through an object... Feng has an unlinked skirt that clips massively with most of her tops. Is it really an issue? Players will, for the most part, self-police that aspect and not use cosmetics that look bad together. Unless that's the point and they don't want to enable people that'd make their characters look like hot messes on purpose, but I can already go to Hag and use her bright green cabbage patch hair, her dark blue claw, and her red-veined grey body, so...
Yeah, I'm just assuming that's the devs take on locking heads with long hair. Obviously clipping will always be an issue, you can't fully get rid of it but you can limit it to an extent.
The devs originally said cosmetic sets were going to be sets consisting of 2-3 pieces, but they clearly didn't commit to that.

@Peanits my store region is in Russia. I can buy games in steam with RUB price including DBD DLC but I cannot buy the stuff in-game
Can you just buy the auric cells on the store page and not in game then?
-
I like the more rare charms, but I agree. I could go without them completely.
I would rather have loading screens in the the Rift then charms anyway.

The missing makeup makes it more interchangeable with other outfits IMO.
Also why is it always Yui that gets the promo vs ingame mismatches? Remember her having black hair in the original Cursed Legacy splash art? Or her hair and face being completely different in the trailer?
The black hair was probably an old version of her and they just never bothered to redo the art and give her blonde hair.
-
There is absolutely NO logical reason why that Twins cosmetic is linked.
I've separated it, so have others. There are no clipping issues with any of the pieces, at least none that are even noticeable. And the pieces look great combined with the Twins other cosmetics. If it has to do with the change in skin tone, well you can do even worse with Hags cosmetics and hers aren't linked... If a developer sees this, please unlink that set or give an actually good reason why that decision was made.
I'm assuming with the longer hair head cosmetics, they want them linked so they can't be combined and clip into torsos with backpacks or accessories on the back.

That's how it is most of the time but not all of the time. I know both of Yun-Jin's green outfits were avaliable with Shards and I believe it was like that for one other character too but I can't remember who.

Have you actually looked at bubba up close? They literally made his face under the mask black, it's literal black face.
The cosmetic itself wasn't blackface. People were using it in that way though, which wasn't good.

Susie and Joey skins don't cost any more though like Legendary skins do. In my opinion those definitely should have their own voice to make up for the increased price.

Clipping is the absolute weakest excuse for linked sets when you can literally use non linked cosmetic pieces together and cause it to look like this:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/N4JBD2IQICXI/20211208021856-1.jpg
For headpieces too since to this day they refuse to unlink Kate's flowercrown and Yunjin's ponytail

It's just pure greed.
Yun-Jin's hair clips pretty badly though. Especially when used with her fur coats.
-
It's linked because of the top extending past her waist.
Her other cardigan isn't a good excuse or comparison because it was released with her back when the store didn't even exist yet. So clipping was hardly an issue.

With Grades being meaningless towards matchmaking they definitely have no place in the match summary anymore, especially when they just continue to cause confusion. It would be better to replace the grade with character portraits.
Yes this!
I think replacing the grade icons with their character portraits would benefit people so much more. I often find myself at the end of a match putting together usernames with character models because I often forget who was who. Especially if there was more then one of the same character.

Twitch drops? what is this? sorry i dont know.
After watching a Twitch streamer for a certain amount of time then you're gifted the outfit.
At least that's how I believe they're releasing. I've also heard you will get them after being a Twitch Prime member.
-
Her rare outfits are being released as part of Twitch drops I believe
-
• Sally from the Texas Chainsaw Massacre as a survivor with Jerry, Kirk, and Pam as Legendary skins.
• Rift cosmetics to be exclusive.
• A black version of Yun-Jin's long straight hair (either in Rift or store).

It wouldn't be necessarily malicious but it would be lying nontheless. If there is a possibility they would bring it back they could have said that.
No they wouldn't say that. They used to be more transparent in the past but then people took them for their word and now they get mad at them when it doesn't happen. They stopped doing that long ago to save themselves from any backlash.
-
I agree with literally everything you said. But I still enjoy the game.
Granted I'm not one of those people that can play this and only this for months on end. The game does get stale and I do take breaks quite frequently. Tending to come back with new content drops.
I really don't understand how someone can only play this game repeatedly for weeks, months, even years. I've been playing steadily since 2017, but the longest I've played the game in one sitting is maybe a month, if that? The games mechanics are way too repetitive to keep my interest for any longer. And if we didn't get new killers, survivors, or maps I would have been long gone by now.
-
That's weird. Still looks like their old models. Wonder if that's a mistake.
-
Meg, Kate, and Adam's shop backgrounds look untouched. Were they mentioned in the patch notes?
-
Could you show the updated character model portraits that is in the store section that they said they updated?
-
They usually always use placeholders in the ptb.

Intent is what makes something racist, Bubba is not intending to be racist by wearing Claudette's face. In fact if anything he is being inclusive, he is a cannibalistic psycho with the brain of basically a small child, he can't even comprehend what 'racism' is.
All forms of logic scream you are objectively wrong, and are trying to blow smoke so people think there is a fire.
This has recently become a big issue and debate on Twitter. Most people I've seen defending this are saying that's it's not Bubba or the cosmetic itself that is racist, but the way people are using it.
People are claiming that others are using the cosmetic to, in fact be racist, on purpose. Now I haven't seen any proof of this yet, but that is what has been claimed multiple times.
Several POCs on Twitter are upset over the cosmetic, and if you're not POC, you're not allowed to form an opinion or be upset over the removal of the cosmetic, as it does not effect you (according to them). If you're not a POC, you're not allowed to tell them what they can/can't be upset over. The whole situation is ridiculous if you ask me.
