You get it by standing still and doing nothing.
yeah you get it and so what? survivors just open gates and leave.
even if you get somebody and try to camp them, chance are high your noed gets broken and then you lose your only ace

He already damages survivor for 1 health state
-
1) A lot of safe&god pallets pallets
2) A lot of pallets leading into dead ends
3) A lot of open spaces
4) That are still clogged with so many obstacles that don't really hide survivors but make using huntress/billy etc extremely difficult
The list goes on with a lot more controversial things.
BHVR managed to make a map that is awful for both survivors and killers.
-
Yeah, that's cool but do you understand that there are 3 other players that are supposed to work with you?
Not to mention that even by your calculations, checking all dulls won't take critical amount of time, especially if you don't completely dedicate yourself to it, but do it in between doing other objectives.

Since Sluzzy agrees with this post, I can pretty surely say this is a bait.

Can tunneling or camping really be considered a thing?

It's sadly connected:
Konami is absolutely notorious for how they handle licenses. Like, it's very likely that bhvr would have to pay them a hefty fee if the game does not make a certain amount of money per quarter.
I almost feel bad. Almost.
Besides, I just remembered that shortly after battlepass system, they stopped doing separate skins for characters. Usually with midchapter/chapter patch they released ~5-6 outfits for survivors and killers that were gradually added in the store every week for the span of 1,5 months.
Now they just make a bunch of recolours and 4 outfits (purple and green) that are put in the battle pass with billions of ######### charms which stay for 3 months.
Shame.

oh yeah, right. and before predatory battlepass system.

The stuff that is 'not bannable' really show a severe desperation for players, if you ask me
Then I remember how they even bothered to make an announcement in game where they promised to ban anyone who took blade addons on Legion.

It's fine.

I wouldn't. It's completely fine.

you oughta know me better, mate.
It means consistently mocking survivors. Slugging and letting people bleed out (even bubba at least hooks people), playing even more sweaty when someone DCs etc. basically stuff you'd expect on LoL or fortnite
if trickster is not hooking survivors, he's doing you a huge favour

The trailer won't be removed in 3 weeks at least knowing BHVR.

What do you mean, with scummy?
that means playing the game without giving survivors win.

I mean, they promised iconic characters.
Tall vampire lady is anything but iconic. Nemesis/Mr X gon give it to ya will be a killer.
-
I guess that's because part of keys rework includes their decreased rarity in chests.

lmao, but using double blade legion was surely bannable despite it literally be the same thing.

I enjoy survivors that don't care about my fun and are focused on doing everything they can to win. That street also goes both ways, I am a killer who effectively doesn't care about the survivors fun. DOn't get me wrong, it's nice when people DO have a good time but I too just am trying to do my business and kill them as one sidedly as possible.

I've seen PLENTY killers that don't care about the survivors fun too.
Hardcore camping and tunneling, using busted addons, infectious fright nurse players that just slug everyone to death,Pre-Nerf mori users etc.
I never said anything about killers.
I was talking about "survivor bad" part.
Besides, you can't argue that "caring about other's fun" is usually what killers do, not survivors. Like I don't remember anyone getting a pity kill as killer in last few YEARS, but I surely remember countless situations where killers were giving hatch. Also that "fairplay" thing which somehow only applies to killers (don't use noed, it ruins fun for survivors, don't play stridor spirit, it ruins fun for survivors that's what you hear on daily basis. But you've never heard "don't play in SWF with comms it ruins fun for killers, don't use DH it ruins fun for killers" and will never hear something like that ever.

I hate this stereotype of "killer good survivor bad."
this isn't a stereotype though. It is experience.
In my almost 5 year DbD career, I've yet to see a survivor who cared about my fun when I played killer. For example, in summer 2019 (wake up abuse) almost every survivor was using that perk despite it being extremely broken. Such thing as "pity kill" doesn't even exist. Not even talking about constant BMing whenever survivors start feel a little bit powerful in match (f/e when they see killer not performing well).
These things don't appear from nowhere, you know?

BHVR wouldn't be able to get the bots to a level where there is any kind of meaningful challenge so that isn't going to happen. Bots are simply mobiles way to trying to provide some cover for when a player disconnects. It's a welcome band aid, but a band aid none the less.
SWF will never get removed either so the idea of that happening is laughable. They've already said previously they want to close the gap between SWF and solo before they'll even consider looking at buffing killers across the board. This is the only viable method that doesn't involve them killing the game outright or severely hurting the playerbase.
Otherwise I could just see it now "come play our game, where playing with your friends is banned and soloq is a miserable experience. But don't worry, we have bots!" Yeah, that'll go down well with the community /s We already had this problem in the past where people were lobby dodging to try and get into the same game as their friends. The devs have got no interest in going down that road again, so the only (and most practical way forward) is to buff soloq and improve matchmaking before looking at balancing.
My method is the effective one.
Their method is the ineffective one, especially if they are not even trying to close that gap in years.

Go ahead, tell me how you'd nerf SWF?
Dbd mobile has very nice bot AI, I don't think it would be very hard to educate it a little bit more and add into KYW mode to substitute missing survivor and killer players.
Then I wouldn't mind allowing people to earn bloodpoints and have progression in KYW mode
After that I'd gladly delete SWF from normal queue, regardless of how long killer or survivor queues will be after that.
If people want to have fun with friends, they can have all of it playing against bots and not people majority of which are not having fun when matched with SWF. We've seen how good bots can be in games like Dota2 if enough effort is put in this, so there would be no issue in having difficult games.
Then we can talk about balancing stuff.

Well that’s not a reason to blame the people that do play in a SWF.
Am I blaming them?
Did you hear me or anyone else EVER call people in SWF bad?
People are not complaining about people playing with friends, people are complaining about the advantage you get for free because you are playing in premade and how the game is not balanced around such advantage.
-
Oh no, another 123123132131th time how SWF shouldn't be nerfed.
Devs promised to do something about SWF issue 4 years ago and nothing was done ever since.
All devs did was to add perks that give solo survivors abilities SWF get for free, which means BHVR gives zero ######### about SWF and it being OP.

Nothing wrong with this freddy. He's fun
Well, not to the majority for sure.
The way he's unfun for survivors has been discussed a lot so I don't think I need to elaborate.
As for killers, he is now going to be not only pretty boring as you don't have much field for improvement, but he's also going to be pretty weak because of his nerfs.

-
On shape I use default overalls & knife with a bloody mask. Simple and elegant.
On demogorgon I usually use prestige body + shackles on head & arms or prestige head + twisted skin.
-
Freddy needs a rework.
Devs should just admit this version failed and it will remain boring and not very enjoyable regardless of how gutted and nerfed it is (just at some point it'll be also boring for the killer) and invest some time into actually reworking freddy.
Returning to old Freddy (especially old dream mechanics) and adding Alarm clocks on that would be a good base for a rework.
Devs have all assets needed for that.
-
because nobody cares about twins so devs can do whatever they want to this abomination
-
don't worry, devs will soon nerf bamboozle because killers are overusing it.
-
Well, I think I'm definitely better than 95% of the playerbase, at least by experience (playing since DbD beta), so I surely belong in red ranks.

well they just discouraged 1,5 person that used to play this killer to play this killer.

I've always wondered how useful Rat Liver actually is because sure, OG 9% sounds good but does it really make a significant difference when in most cases you're holding Shred for like a few seconds at most?
it does because you stop losing distance when holding shred.
Aside from better zoning potential, it allows to use shred better in loops as you can start charging it earlier and make a full lunge

@Aquitus said:
if the dev's mentioned this in the first place we wouldnt have been so angry. makes me think that they are doing this on purpose
wow, who would've thought? Here's the entire scheme:
- Release PTB/Devblog where you purposely announce VERY BAD changes you actually aren't going to let go in live build
- Wait for angry feedback where people cry about the worst changes
- People also are very likely miss smaller nerfs & other bs because your decoy nerfs are going to drag all attention
- Pretend to listen to their feedback and revert VERY BAD changes into JUST BAD changes that you were ORIGINALLY going to put through.
- Now you're a hero in almost everyone's eyes because you are listening to feedback and making things less worse
- People now shut down anyone who rightfully says that the changes are still BAD and shouldn't be made at all because "reee how dare you ungrateful swine they are listening to us11!!"
- ???
- Profit
Devs use that scheme almost every second midchapter/chapter patch. They have 2 versions one of which contains attention decoys (like extremely flawed overheat numbers in 2020 summer midchapter or rat liver huge nerf this time) and the other contains real changes you know nobody will like. Substitute one with the other after backslash and you can make people believe they are actually in charge.
So by using that scheme BHVR made community eat Hillbilly's rework (that basically ruined him) because they made people think these changes could be worse than they turned out.
Here's another example:
Imagine that the government makes up air taxes, like "50$/month for air". Everybody goes nuts, they are ready to riot, etc, etc. Then the president goes out and says "Calm down, we heard your dissatisfaction, so I decrease air tax from 50$/month down to 20$/month". Majority is rejoicing, they HAVE BEEN HEARD and they shut down the minority who say that "Wait, we shouldn't be having air taxes at all, what the hell?".

That might be how they do it, like I said I’m not sure how they do it.
But if it is that way then the maths is wrong because it’s not a 9% increase
whatever, maybe, too lazy to make a further research, what matters is:
1) Old liver allowed to move faster than survivor
2) New liver allows to move as fast as survivor.

I dunno, that would be cool visually but I don't know if I want my camera glued into the grass like I am old Blight.
That's the only downside I can think of, but imagine how cool it would be to sneak on survivors with it. And it would generally make demo ambushes more effective as right now stomps, gurgling and height of a skyscraper don't really help him.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2110460#Comment_2110460
Yeah I agree with that.
I really think they should make it 100% by default, and make rat liver just give one more portal I actually liked old rotten pumpkin.
I also think they should make it so that his footsteps and gurgling sounds become silent when he is in undetectable status. Not only for his own kit and addons, but for the sake of perk synergy as well. I would love to be able to experiment with perks more.
Those changes alone would make people plenty happy, outside of that there are some mechanically useless addons that would ideally be changed and that would pretty much leave him in a perfect state you don't have to change anymore.
They should make demo crawl on all fours while he's undetectable after emerging (like he does in lobby) or until he tries to attack/shred survivor.
That wouldn't be too hard to implement since demo already has such asset, but it would be bloody awesome + it would make sense if he stops making loud noises.
But it's behaviour so no awesome things.
-
It's fine right now, honestly.
You can even land consecutive shots when survivor is far.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
This is still a nerf overall.
This means his speed without it is 96.5% but everyone pretty much always used rat liver so it would be around 100% before.
Currently it would only be 97.75% WITH rat liver.
You could argue that now he can take other addons but I mean....a lot of his other addons are still not that great. We shouldn't be mourning a brown addon for god's sake, we should be thinking "Oh man I can't wait to run that yellow, green, purple addon or try these combinations now" but we are not, we are still trying to get value out of a brown addon because a lot of the effects of his other addons mechanically are just not that useful, hell a few of them have even been nerfed....
That's my point.
However base increase is still good tbh as 96,5% isn't as bad as 92% so you will be able to at least consider taking other addons.
It would be even better if they straight up given him 100% default speed and made rat liver do something else (for example decrease time it take for shred to fully charge (so 0,75 -> 0,75 initial start and 1,5 -> 1,25 full power for example), but I guess it'll just become yet another mandatory chase addon so I'd be fine with it just giving an extra portal like old pumpkin did or decreasing missed shred cd and that's behaviour we're talking about so.. yeah.

Like I said, I have no idea what the devs use or how their calculations work.
The numbers I gave are purely from maths.
If base speed during shred charge is 3.68. Rat liver add 9% increase to the base speed.
3.68 + 9% is 4.01(12), not 4.04
1% from 4,00 is 0,04, right?
9% from 4,00 is 0,04 x 9 = 0,36, right?
we're calculating 9% not from 3,68, but from 4,00. All percentages in the game are calculated from a default number (4,00 in case of m/s) as otherwise it would be a mess both for the people trying to understand it and for the spaghetti code having to pull off more difficult formulars than default 4,00 x X%

I’m not talking about what BHVR use, I have no idea what they do and how their numbers work.
Im talking purely maths. For example;
100 - 8% = 92
92 + 8% = 99.36
With percentages it doesn’t work the way you stated. But what calculations does the game use? I have no idea
i still don't get how you got these numbers, maybe you calculated 8% out of 92% instead of 100%, idk, but here's actual numbers provided by dev who is yet to betray our trust:
- Increase shred speed to 3.86m/s
- Rat Liver increases it to 4.0m/s (same as before)
So it's safe to assume new rat liver does +0,14.

@Mugombo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2110240#Comment_2110240
I wasn’t using any sources, I was using maths like you said.
Mathematically, if base speed is 92% or 3.68. If you get the base speed and add 9%, it works out to be 100.28% or 4.01
4,00 = 100%
1% = 0,04
92% = 3,68
9% = 0,36
3,68 + 0,36 = 4,04
So how exactly? Or they use different formula to count movespeeds?
-
@Mugombo said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2109977#Comment_2109977
Yeah but I don’t think maths has ever been a strong point for them to actually be used for working out values.
92 + 9% isn’t 101, it’s 100.28
In any case that number is bigger than 100% even by their ######### calculations.
Also, where exactly are you coming up with 100,28 number? I'd like to see a source of that information, as I don't really remember demo having that low OtA speed with liver.
