What's frustrating is that I'm talking my experience. I See my 'instant' survivors times and my long killer times. I provide evidence to support my perspective then try to provide insight into why I see posts that might contradict my hypothesis.
All I get for trying to pool that together is anecdotal subjective hyperbolic statements. I get that your perspective is different and a few other posts agree with your perspective. But your not doing ANYTHING to try and show some form of insight into this with some kind of evidence.
You don't have to agree with me but doing the equivalent of 'because I say so', is as effective as not posting at all. Except that you don't get to voice your opinion and the people in that bubble don't get to nod their heads and say 'i agree with you'.
Which is what it comes down too.
Unless you think I'm lying, which contradicts the people that agree with me. So we just end up doing this circular dance that doesn't do much of anything.
When the devs won't release relevant statistics, "anecdotal" statements are all we have. Even with just that, there are far more people who are experiences instant killer queues and long survivor queues. Your experience is an outlier.

Why are there still killer mains complaining about gen speed completion when we, as killers, have at our disposal;
Hex ruin
Hex huntress lullaby
Sloppy butcher
Pop goes the weasel
Surge
Overcharge
Thanatophobia
Dying light
Etc.
I'm a killer main and TBH I believe that based on objective completion, dbd is balanced,since killers have so many things at their disposal to slow the game down just a little bit
I don't think we will.
Gens go too fast at high ranks, it's just fact. You can watch very high caliber killers stream. If their ruin gets taken down immediately or they don't use it, the game flies by. Even if they are constantly downing, hooking, or juggling they get a 2K at best.

eh I found whispers to be an absolutely worthlesss perk it's range is too large which makes it near impossible to track down moving survivors if the range was shorter or in a cone in front of you instead of a full 360 degrees around you it'd be a lot more usable.
Whispers is one of those perks you must get to level 3. Levels 1 and 2 are borderline useless. Once you get 3, if you know how to use it, you can pinpoint survivor locations. Here is a pretty good guide form OhTofu.
-
For Huntress, Whispers is almost a necessity, because of her slow speed and large humming radius, immersed survivors have so much time to hide. BBQ and Nurse's are very good. Ruin or Corrupt are needed to slow down gens.

Prepare to rank up to 10 and start playing red ranks swfs on comms
Yep, then you will want to go back to survivor, experience the wait times, and maybe play something else entirely.

I wouldn't trust the main of one side to give feedback on that side if I was a dev. I probably wouldn't even trust them to give feedback on the opposite side. For example: Many Nurse mains thought Nurse's basekit was fine. While the change to it they did made her miserable, her basekit being better by far than every other killer is slightly problematic.
That is why you listen to feedback from both sides, particularly the better players. What the devs seem to do is listen to the masses who play survivor.
-
@Mr_K said:
Most Devs don't know how to play their own game at high levels. It's not uncommon.
The team that responsible for balancing the killer power just listens to what survivors find annoying and they try to fix them without taking in mind the feedback for the player that main those killers.
100%
You don't have to know how to play it at high levels. You just have to listen to the people that can. It is really not hard.

My Killer Rank is kind of smurfed right now. I am a rank 12, but have been in the red ranks a few times in the past and usually hover around the high greens. Anyway, just last night I had a match with my Trapper against all Red Ranks, 2 of them rank 2. For a normal rank 12 this would have probably been hell, but I handled it. Still, not a fair match making hookup. There are just not many people playing Killer anymore, which is sad, because I think it is more fun and rewarding.
I agree it is more fun overall. However, the times where killers get antagonized by toxic SWF groups are so malignant people just want to avoid it completely. Being bullied by SWF is quite literally the most miserable gaming experience I have ever had.
-
It's not remotely fair. I suspect there is such a shortage of killers that matchmaking is grasping at any killer. An easily forseeable side effect of constantly catering to survivors.
-
Given their track record, if the killer is not "annoying" for survivors, they won't be touched. Clown isn't seen as "annoying" and more like an easy win for survivors. So he is probably seen as perfectly balanced and won't be changed for some time.

Oh please the games so killer sided it’s absurd. As survivor you can’t do anything except loop or stealth. It’s so stupid and yet killers complain non stop.
I suppose you would add the ability to have survivors deliver dropkicks. If you have not dealt with very toxic SWF, you don't get it.

@Tr0g said:
Not enough killers. As a killer you will have 0 queue time on PS4.
This is what happens when the devs constantly cater to survivors.

i'm pretty sure that killers are just leaving cause of how stressful it is,or cause most killer mains are switching to survivors.That's how i feel personally
I suspect the same thing, with the devs constantly nerfing the best killers and doing very little to buff the weak killers. Hopefully SWF are excited to admire each other's fresh duds in lobby simulator.

@DBD_Pinhead said:
No one is talking about her because survivors finally got their way and had her nerfed to the ground. They don't want to be threatened so now that she's out of commission, they just pivot to the next target.
Pretty much. Mission accomplished, survivor mains.

@Almo said:
But in doing the update, we focused on making him more fun to play as well as against.
LoL is littered with changes they made due to characters being annoying to play against. Most notably Darius, who had a 60% ban rate, but a 48% win rate.
Not saying that is not the case. What is apparent is the whole reason for the rework was because survivors did not enjoy playing against him. If killers who play Doctor get more fun out of playing as him, that is simply a side benefit. The fun of Doctor players does not appear to be the main or even equal objective of the rework.
-
@Polychrome_Baku said:
Get used to it, OP. Survivors outnumber killer players both in game and in the community, and survivors also buy more skins. So their enjoyment will always comes first. Maybe they could just replace the killers with bots. Anyways. I'll reserve actual judgment on the doc until the PTB, but I don't have a lot of faith. BVHR has a ######### track record with reworks, Freddy notwithstanding.
True to a point. Survivor queues are getting longer and longer. I suspect it is because Killers are getting fed up BHVR constantly stacking the deck against them. Soon enough, survivors can play lobby simulator with their fresh cosmetics.

Honestly, its just a manifestation of something to 'hold onto'.
At release killers complained about infinites (REAL infinites too, not the pseudo-infinites you have now). I remember a killer commenting that once infinites were out of the game, there would be no need for killers to play sweaty anymore. I laughed.
People aren't logical, they don't come at arguments from that perspective. They are emotional and influenced by socialisation effects.
The long story short, after June 2016 killers complained about infinites and sprint burst that would recharge while in a chase without exhaustion. Fast forward 2019 and its keys and looping.
Keys, much like mori's are annoying but are kinda rare and don't reflect the majority of games. But when you get owned and you want to hyperbole on the forums, well it suddenly translates into every game is swf who all have keys etc etc.
Hilarious this is the accepted answer. Give me a break.
Keys allow survivors to escape when they haven't completed their objective and robs killers of their chance to win in the end game. Not mention survivors are often toxic about it, waiting for the killer to find them and giving out some tbags before spamming "EZ" in the chat.
-
That is beyond absurd. They should fix this immediately. You think that guy is ever going to want to play killer again? Devs really need to get it together. This is not how you retain new players.
-
@FriendlyGuy said:
Billy without addons? Nah. I agree on huntress tho. Her addons are mostly QoL for good huntress players.
If you are right, the problem is even worse. Too many killers are dependent on good add-ons to be competitive.

@thrawn3054 said:
I mean it's not. But what do you want them to do about swf?
Give solo survivors much of the info SWF has and buff killers around it. How exactly it should be done is up for debate, but it needs to happen in some respect.
-
@Vetrathene said:
Someone in post chat said this to me after they obviously use voice comms to tell each other when I was coming and going and negating my stealth as a freaking STEALTH killer. The fact that killers have been getting nerf after nerf is not indicative it is balanced around SWF. So do not try to play that card with me, it is patently and obviously false.
I don't think anyone is debating you. Clearly the devs balance around solo survivors. They devs have let SWF go completely unchecked.

If I, a solo survivor, in red ranks don’t want to play with green and yellow or brown ranks I shouldn’t have to waste my time. Let us see ranks again BHVR plz
I play survivor as well and I agree with you. SWF can choose exactly who they play with. Solo survivors cannot even see the rank of their teammates.
-
If I don't want to play against a clearly toxic bully squad, I shouldn't have to waste my time.

@Fibijean said:
The way they explained it in the stream, it's basically because lobby dodging costs more time for everyone involved. Since they're in the middle of trying to improve matchmaking and queue times, it seemed counterintuitive to allow a feature to remain in the game which made that issue even worse.
That's all well and good. Being able to see levels provided me much better quality matches. I had a match recently with a bad killer, but my teammates were far worse. They just hid the entire match. The killer was level 18 and all the other survivors were level 20.
-
@The_Second_Coming said:
Aim at the air 6 feet to the right or left of the survivor, and not actually the survivor.
Pretty much this. Unless a survivor is running straight ahead of you (which most good survivors will not do) you will have aim where you expect them to be after the hatchet travels.
-
Spirit is better. Not even a competition after Oni's flick was nerfed.

Legion killed off for good? I doubt it, they'll get another "rework" in about a year.
Death and taxes.
More like 2 years.
Legion is irritating to play against and I find him irritating to play. He needs a total rework. Maybe they should stop selling cosmetics for Legion until they have a proper killer. Like that will happen.
-
Disagree on Demo. He felt unique. Agree on Plague to some extent, though she has enough unique mechanics. You are completely right with Oni and Ghostface, they are clearly mash-ups of 2 killers, Billy/Myers and Pig/Myers respectively.
They are charging a premium for new chapters. We need some original ideas.
-
@RakimSockem said:
Also no. SWF balances the game. It this game was solos only, the survivors would need major buffs to compete with killers
So who cares about solo survivors, right?
-
Most of them are fine, but the toxic ones leave such an awful impression. What does BHVR do? Nerf more killers!

okay, here's the other solution to this:
just delay the entire chapter release until the bug is fixed.
there you go. people wont start complaining about them "killing the character" or "scamming them", etc.
just wait a week or two longer until the chapter drops, its as easy as that.
would you like that?
or would you rather be able to obtain the content asap, even if there might be a known bug or two?
Actually, yes I would prefer they delayed it. That would to be the honest approach. That way I would know I was buying a weak Billy/Myers hybrid instead of what appeared to be a strong killer that could deal with high level survivors.
-
This game really does seem to be going down the tubes. The devs are constantly sabotaging their own game. They are only nerfing killers, not buffing any of the weak ones. So we get less killers and thus longer survivor queues.
-
You'll notice the devs are quite silent when it comes to the problems with console. I left PS4 for PC a few months ago. It plays better but I'm still getting back the perks I had.
-
Legion needs a complete rework. Anything short of this is a band-aid. I don't know what they were thinking when they made a killer that forced survivors to spend a bunch of time healing or "mending."
-
@Mister_xD said:
just so you know:
the flick was unintentional, which was stated from the very first second he hit live servers.
they merely fixed a bug.
btw, you can still get 90 degree flicks with him. you just wont be able to get 180 degree flicks with him anymore (which honestly was stupid anyway).
such a minor thing is also not gonna "kill" him. that is, yet again, pure overreaction by the community.
We know that is the party line. If it was truly a bug it should have been fixed during the PTB or on release, NOT a week after official release when most people had already purchased him.
The changes are not minor. He is now extremely easy to dodge. Even if it was a "bug" it made him strong with a high skill cap. Maybe they should have left the "bug."
The changes they make defy comprehension more often than not.
-
Is it fun for the survivors? Yes! Devs don't care.
-
They nerfed him into the ground for sure. He was strong, fun, and actually intimidating to go against. Now he is just a much weaker Billy. They took something great they created and threw it in the dumpster. After everyone paid for it, of course.

@Perelie said:
Playing killer isn't fun, and I get the feeling the devs don't WANT it to be fun. I mean you always see Peanits talking about how important it is for survivors to have fun so that's why killers are always nerfed. So why doesn't that same logic apply to killer?
Because there are more survivor mains than killer mains, which has to be the case. I think that is their logic. What they don't seem to grasp is if killer mains leave the game survivors simply won't have games.
I find playing killer quite stressful, mostly because of toxic survivors. I don't mind if they are respectful, but when they go out of their way to bully you, that is quite bothersome. They have plenty of opportunities too. There comes a certain point where they know you cannot possibly win and make sure to rub it in.
-
Killer players are getting tired of dealing with toxic SWF and the devs constantly nerfing killers with no buffs.
-
@Talmeer said:
Also not every buff has to be a full rework.
The Legion would it already really help if m1 attacks would have no impact on frenzy. Even if that would not be enough to make him to a really good killer.
The Trapper would it already help if he could carry more traps and/or lay traps faster.
I am not a coder, but changes like that sound like they could be done in a few days. At least in my ears^^.
I think this is one of the biggest issues. They don't mind doing quick nerfs but any buff needs to a full fledged event.

Now I can't even hit survivors who are 50° to my right.

Nerfs have higher priority than buffs. Buffs might create new problems while nerfs fix problems.
This is perhaps one of the most nonsensical posts I have read. If something is too weak, a buff fixes it. If something is too strong, a nerf fixes it.

For sure waiting in pre-match lobbies for at least 10 minutes, facing constant lobby dodges, having to restart lobbies because not everyone in the party gets in. Damn, just thinking about how great us SWF have it. Wow.
Maybe if SWF teams weren't so toxic and miserable to play against you wouldn't have these problems.
-
No one thinks BHVR hates them. It feels like they couldn't care less about solo players (solo survs and killer). People who play SWF have far superior experience than anything a solo player has.
-
@Peanits said:
While I understand where you're coming from, this is a live game and everything is subject to change. We made it clear in the known issues section of the patch notes that you could turn further than intended the day the update released. It's not unusual for something to change shortly after release, it's somewhat of a regular occurrence. If you're worried that something might change after being, I would strongly suggest being patient and holding out for a few weeks, and I would never suggest buying something just because you think it's really powerful.
Just shows how desperate killer mains are for decent killers. I watched Twitch and saw many killer mains in awe of a fun AND powerful killer who could deal with high rank SWF. Of course people were going to get it immediately. Now he is just a weaker version of Billy. People are going to feel burned. The flick should have been remedied in the PTB or on release, not many days afterward. People should not have to dig through patch notes to know what they are getting.
-
@Monlyth said:
Always remember that what you see isn't what the killer sees, and due to ping, there's only so much BHVR can do to address that.
On your screen, you got hit through the window. On the Killer's screen, they just barely caught you at the end of the vault.
It was fine before dedicated servers. Unfortunately, BHVR feels the need to push them on us without making them work properly.
-
I made this post a month ago and it has only gotten worse. Nurse nerf, Spirit nerf, Freddy nerf, Oni nerf, Legion nerf (who needs a complete rework). Zero killer buffs, despite the fact most killers are considered weak. I do not accept that these changes take time. The nerfs have been coming fast and furious.

Will you guys allow people to earn them through future events? That way people still have to earn them and they’re not given away for free?
Sorry my dude. You will likely never be able to get these cosmetics. Should have displayed "loyalty" and "dedication" by playing this game earlier. Having the cosmetics for a significant period of time was not enough for some people. Nope. They howled and cried because it is inconceiveable someone would have something they have. It is not like like they would be taken away from anyone. They just do not want you to have it.
