Yeah the EGC 3 Safe Hooks in a single match is not gonna happen unless its a Farm Match or the Killer & Survivors are THAT potato and somehow don't die on hook or DC.
The rest can be done..... Tho some ARE bad/more difficult to line up
Wel, there went my excitement overall... They def need to rework these or get rid of the "Complete this in a single Trial" BS.... Should really lower the amount that have that stipulation...
Do FOUR gens by yourself is not remotely possible as a solo survivor. You literally have to have friends running around the entire time. Absolutely absurd.

They seem to be the filler that most battle passes have.

Perks either compliment or help formulate unique strategies. None of that matters if the player has a poor foundation, or has ingrained bad habits (best example being how often Ruin is used by players that just don’t know how to pressure)
This is already being demonstrated by players winning without any perks or add ons (or items in the case of survivors)
Usually demonstrated by streamers who have thousands of hours in the game. To suggest perks don't make a big difference is absurd. You also didn't address the last part of my post. I highly doubt you play with lackluster or no perks.

If you are crying about the cost of this game five easy steps
1) get a job at McDonald's
2) work there for 1 day
3) quit
4) enjoy whatever content your heart desires for the next 12 months using your hard earned mcbucks
5) stfu
I have a great idea. How about BHVR charges, I don't know, a dollar a game. I mean it is just a dollar right? People play like maybe 10 games on average a day. That is only $10 a day. If you have a job this shouldn't be an issue. If it is, grow up.
-
I was afraid this would happen. Just had a game that was a total debacle probably because of challenges. People were racing each other for unhooks right in front of the killer. Think at least 2 people were Bills so they could use Borrowed. Who could have seen this coming?
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I think the challenges are designed to remind survivors that this is not strictly a team game. Players need to ensure they have back up that allow them to rely on themselves if the crap hits the fan.
I think the challenges are a poorly thought out mechanic meant to justify a Fortnite-style battle pass with the incentive of getting even more money out of players.

It is optional.
Anyone that believes it’s absolutely essential to have certain perks, or certain killers to win is deluding themselves.
The ability to outwit your opponent and make good guesstimates is what counts in this game.
Perks made a huge difference and most of them are locked behind a paywall. If you are playing only free killers and using only those perks, you are argument stands. I highly doubt that is the case though.

Wraith is considered by most to be one of if the not the worst killer in the game. Quite an odd stand to make here.

Here is a very helpful video from my favorite content creator. He actually talks about why you should avoid that exact perk load out.

If they don't seem to be toxic, I ease up. Much more likely to give the last survivor the hatch.

Highly doubt that is going to happen from a dev that is implementing a battle pass.

I have 4 hours left before im unable to play until 4th of november. So if they fix it within 2 hours i'll be happy anything longer and im stuck in purgatory for the weekend
That is exactly the thing. Not all of us have unlimited time to play. Some of us have time off and would have liked to play the event during that time. So just because technically "no days are lost," they are completely gone for some of us.

People got pissed that the event was delayed due to bugs just a few days ago.
Now people are pissed there's bugs but the event launched.
People are irritated that after a significant delay, things are still not working properly. That is completely reasonable.

I Agree however this issue is more pressing losing all my blood points after a well deserved escape does that seem fair to you or is this not a issue that needs to be fixed right away, atleast with a survivor dc'ing you get points per dc what do I get nothing and lose my offering and item if it was used during that game.
I get a paltry amount of points and can't really play a killer I spent real money for and spent time leveling up. I find that far more upsetting than losing 10-20k bloodpoints.
-
@suli033 said:
How about we adress something more Important like killers dc'ing at the exit resulting in survivors losing all there points instead of whinning about which killers survivors like or not?
Maybe they are both important.

What possible reason would BHVR have to get in the legal debacle that ruined the F13 The Game. I would stay as far away from Jason as possible.

No they wouldn't. When queue times were bad you already had people in high ranks not playing the game because they were having to wait 10+ minutes to find a game as killer. It would just result in a ton of people swapping to survivor because the queue times would be faster. You would have a large swap to survivor and would either not have enough killers or they would have to lock/limit the number of people playing survivor. You also ignore the fact that people not DCing doesn't make them better teammates. They will still be equally as useless if they are forced to stay in game. They will just find different ways to die or will soft int/troll until the game is over. They can't stop this from happening unless they just start punishing players for doing badly. Which they can't because they would be left with no playerbase. There is nothing they can do as developers to make people not ######### teammates or to make people play better. There is nothing that can be done about it and it's something you just need to accept as a part of the game.
If they stay in the game, at the very least, they can be killer fodder. Other games do not suffer DCer's like DBD does. I don't have a problem with queue times. I do have a problem with wasting my time and depping because someone started a DC party.
-
@InnCognito said:
Instead of punishing DC'ers how about they just go back to the revisions of the game where players didn't want to DC.
- Nerf BBQ
- Remove Hatch closing.
- Extend pallet loops
- Stop spawning the killer right on top of a Survivor
- Come up with some sort of mechanic that gets rid of Slugging.
- If a player get mori'd Give them something awesome for it.
- Revert Exhaustion status perks and Decisive.
So reward the behavior of DCer's with a list of absurdly pro-survivor changes. Briliant.
-
@Elegant said:
5 minute timeout would still result in longer queue times. Not insanely longer but still longer. People would still DC and instead of just staying to wait for the 5 minute queues a lot of them will just go and play something else. 5 minute dodge timers don't discourage people from dodging. it just lengthens queue times for them and lowers the number of people playing by a bit. LoL has a 5 minute dodge timer and people dodge constantly. It doesn't discourage it almost at all. LoL has the playerbase to get away with shrinking number of players. DBD does not
I think most people would deal with longer queue times to avoid dealing with DCer's.
-
Dedicated servers. Seen this happen with streamers, much to their frustration. Really ruins the strategy of getting it up to 99% and popping Tier III when close up.
-
I care about rank a lot as survivor. Not because of status or anything, but because of who you play with. Much better to play with decent survivors and a killer who doesn't rely on camping/tunneling than potato survivors and a camping/tunneling killer.
The ranking system is cruelly ironic because it is very difficult to double pip as survivor. As killer it is pretty easy if you have a good game and as killer there is no benefit to ranking up because you will just go against better survivors
-
I agree, they really nailed his design. Probably one of the best designed killers in the game.

Bond is far more useful imo. You can find a survivor to heal you in addition to the other benefits of seeing your teammates' auras
This is what I like to do. Even the selfish teammates usually know that healing other survivors gets you a lot of points.

Killers get more points in general because in order to keep up with add-ons a killer HAS to spend Bloodpoints in the Bloodweb.
Survivors can simply search a chest or take something from another survivor to increase their items/add-ons. They even have perks that allow them to get rare and ultra rare add-ons/items without spending anything.
If they manage to balance the economy then there wouldn't be need for killers to spend more on upkeep, however until such time it makes sense that killers make more BP to compensate for this discrepancy.
I'm not saying killers shouldn't get more. I'm saying survivors shouldn't get so little. For me it comes down to unlocking perks in the bloodweb, also I rarely use add-ons for survivor or killer, so your argument does not really apply.
-
I think other actions should be brought up to par with unhooking, instead of making unhook less. The points you get for survivor is pretty abysmal compared to killer.
-
This game seems to have a somewhat small but very loyal player base. They should be focusing on balance changes and responding to feedback. They need to make their loyal base feel appreciated. Instead they are implementing these dedicated servers and this battle pass, both disasters in their own right, which do quite the opposite. A Halloween event that will probably occur after Halloween is just one more issue.
-
This is completely unacceptable. There are other ways to fix dedicated servers than subjecting your players to this disaster.
-
I like it. It's a good ace in the hole when dealing with toxic SWF. Nothing more satisfying than a toxic survivor teabagging their way to gate at full health getting downed in one swing.

i planned on stalking people if i buy him, because if you play like that, he is just a better wraith
He has the ability to remove his terror radius and red stain at will while maintaining his speed. He can pull off gen grabs all game, better than Myers in Tier 1 on account he is still fast and he is much shorter, thus harder to see coming. His skill can help in chases too, you will see how much even good survivors rely on the red stain to deal high walled loops.
Stalking is definitely worth trying, but you will have a much better time if you just use it when the conditions are perfect than trying hard to make them so.

Wriggling is not supposed to be an escape. It exists so the Killer cannot bring you to the Basement every time he picks you up. Or just carry 1 Survivor around while hunting the rest. They have to pick the closest hook.
So wriggling does not need a buff, because it's not meant to be an escape. it's just a time limit to force the Killer to hook.
Exactly. The process of hooking is formality. If a killer chooses to hook instead of slug, it should not be another challenge.

As we all know, every update comes with bugs, but according to peanits he stated that they found a very bad bug and they were fixing it
They also mentioned something about the rift not working properly in the update about 3.3.0
This shows that the devs want to make this event as playable and fun as possible
You shouldn't be angry the event got delayed, you should be happy they actually wanted to do this with the event in the first place!
I've been playing Outer Worlds. Your title reminds me of one of the corporate posters in the game.
A Halloween event should be available during Halloween. They sure have the cosmetics available to buy with real money and not even completely functioning (Clown's knife is invisible). I have a strong feeling if the event was not tied to the battle pass, we would be enjoying the event now.

This is the direction the game is going and we will all have to get used to the new normal.
The amount of threads just shows what a problem it is. How do the devs respond? Radio silence. Not cool. The dedicated servers need a lot more work before they are released to the player base. We are being treated as beta testers and that is not acceptable.

My suggestion has always been to let Saboteur grant the ability to see hook auras. A slight buff to sabo speed would also be nice. So instead of just a 50% speed sabo without kit, you can sabo with a small speed boost, like how Self Care buffs self-healing with a med kit.
Glad you are not balancing the game. I'm going to take a wild guess and say you do not play killer much.
-

Tell that to the developers. They included sabo in the game.
Look. I agree that no-regen Sabo was bad for the game. But it's been nerfed to a point where it is next to useless.
Sabo needs to be given a buff of some sort so that it is at least something survivors think about doing instead of genrushing.
Your binary way of thinking is unreasonable. Gen rush and buffed sabotage are not the only options. A true secondary objective that does not completely obliterate the killers most basic objective is possible. If the devs put as much time into balancing the game as they did making a battle pass, we would be in much better shape.

All of those things got nerfed into oblivion. Once players get any degree of experience in this game they realize that nonsense is just that: nonsense. So they revert to genrushing.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/790209#Comment_790209
The funny thing is killers have been asking for secondary objectives forever. Not realizing it's been in the game all along: Sabo. But when someone tries it they cry that it's no fun.
Fine, survivors will go back to genrushing then.
I can't even tell if you're serious. Ruining a killers ability to win does not count a "secondary objective." It is hard enough to down survivors. Being able to place them on a hook should not be another challenge.
The hate between killers and survivors is absurd. I play both sides. You all need to get over yourselves and see the other's perspective.

Once they add dedicated where survivors peformence isnt dictated by garbage unstable killer internet, then we can talk about DC punishment.
Way more issues with these dedicated servers than ever had with killer internet. Not hard to check your ping in the lobby.

@terumisan said:
I went against a sabo team today it works and its not fun to go against
It is really frustrating to go against. Survivors can literally take away a killer's ability to hook, which is their main objective. The ability of sabotage hooks should never have even been implemented.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
so? there is nothing wrong with face camping and tunneling just like there is nothing wrong with pallet looping and gen rushing and don't come at me saying it is not fun because most people do not care about my fun so why should I?
Maybe you should be better than what you despise. I'm not saying you shouldn't keep some counter-toxicity in your back pocket, but it shouldn't be the default stance.

Overwhelmingly going to be baby killers on Twitch. Doesn't make it less irritating. But it will get better.

None because I'm not 12 years old and I just move on and play the next game, I'd say less than 5% of my matches have a dc in them but even then I don't let it ruin my game because as I said, I'm not 12 and I don't let dumb things ruin my fun.
You could literally apply this "logic" to anything.
Let's say BHVR charged real money per game. You could say, "I'm not 12 years old, I have an income."
-
@Elegant said:
There's literally nothing behavior can do to make this "problem" any better. If they stop people from disconnecting those people are just going to suicide. If they keep people from suiciding they will just do stupid ######### until they die. That, or they will just disconnect anyway and stop playing. Dead by daylight is an incredibly frustrating game to play for at least one person in almost every game. If you force people to stay in games they want don't want to play, they won't magically become better teammates. They will troll/play badly/not do anything. Then, there's a decently good chance they don't queue up for another game. If enough people do this, queue times will increase and it will be even harder to find games at high ranks and bad times of the night. It will not improve the game at all implementing punishments for disconnects. Your teammates will not be better when it comes out.
Like I said, a 5 minute timeout would work wonders. It wouldn't be overly burdensome for those with unintentional disconnects. Overwhelmingly though, DC's are intentional.
Literally just played a game against a Leatherface who immediately downed a guy. The guy DCed. Someone else DCed. The game was completely ruined.
-
@Mandy said:
People do get banned for DC'ing - once they reach the threshold for DC'ing, they receive a ban.
I would say approximately 25% of my survivor games are ruined because of a DC and it is only getting worse.
-
I think an outright ban is too harsh. A time out would be ideal, which escalates every subsequent DC.
