  • I might run that endgame build on my Hag for some endgame build ;) the rest are nice.

  • I've returned to xbox after 4 months, to play it for the new 3 months and I keep getting tunnelled because of my superior skill (not having a big ego but being honest) so I decided to run

Object of Obsession (make their job easier since they do it anyway),
Iron will/D strike (Normally iron will but sometimes D strike if I want to fully commit to the killer chasing me),
    Adrenaline,
And Balanced Landing (to open up loops for me).

I run them for 5 gens then I escape. I don't even need DS most the time so I might not run it.

Or maybe a killer main pretending to be a survivor main.

I think it's the guy @Master, or the other guy called "wraith?", they just want to create toxicity in this forum

Nah, it's not him. There's only one guy here in this forum who would do and speak like that.

"nerf the only good perk of survivor after all the nerf in this 2018"

    What is Balanced Landing?
    What is Self-Care?
    What is Iron Will?
    What is Urban Evasion?

Just having these 4 perks is so good. 1 Exhaustion perk for running, Iron will can help bamboozle some killers and helps you stealth when injured, Urban Evasion amplifies Iron Will, making a god like combo, it is also extremely good against Nurse and is just useful for stealth in general kind of acts like calm spirit for the crows since you are crouching, Self-Care for self reliance.

You are probably just to dependent on decisive.

    Urban evasion, you serious?

What's wrong with it? As a solo survivor I use the perk and it's helped more times than I can count. Is great against Nurse and Spirit and downright counters Hag.

From a Hag mains point of view, it does nothing. If they crouch around the map with Urban (which is 50% movespeed for them I think) I'm effectively moving 60% faster. It doesn't counter Hag much, but definitely counters Nurse.

Idk it's just that he can counter a pallet loop effortlessly, he can have good pressure and can surprise people at gens by standing still if he knows they're there. He's not weak that's for sure, he used to be but now he's amazing. My tier list goes like Nurse, Billy, Hag, Myers, Huntress then Wraith .

@Mr_Sparkle Glad to see another new member to the ever-growing community of Dead by Daylight! I'm sorry that you had to deal with some unpleasant comments however, I am afraid that negative comments in the post-game chat are all too common. Let me share with you some advice I'm stumbled across in my time playing.

    For Survivor:
Your ability to hit skillchecks will play a large role in how well you and your "allies" do in trials. If you want to practice skillchecks without the threat of being savagely beaten for messing up I recommend that you try using this skillcheck simulator ( http://mistersyms.com/tools/gitgud/index ). As for everything else, it all comes down to experience.

    For Killer:
Usually, as a killer, you just need experience and perks to handle problems. Since you're new I highly recommend that you continue playing Doctor to maximize your practice with him and Bloodpoint gain. Then after each trial, I highly suggest that you take your newfound bloodpoints and pour them into one of these three killers (if they're available to you).

1.) Hag - You probably saw this coming but HEX: Ruin's usefulness is truly amazing. Getting teachable HEX: Ruin unlocked so that you can have Ruin on the Doctor should almost guarantee better games. As an added bonus of leveling up Hag you can try getting Teachable Devour Hope which can work excellently on Doctor as long as they can't find the totem early. (Since you said you like Doc I would recommend that you avoid using Third Seal on Doctor as the madness screams counter the lack of aura reading. This being said, don't be shy to unlock teachable perks when you get the chance.

2.) Hillbilly - If you are tired of toxicity then Billy's perks are for you! While Tinkerer is a bit of a hit or miss perk, Lightborn and Enduring can let you consume pallets and flashlights like a machine. If you really want to eat flashlights you can pair Overwhelming Presence from your doc with Lightborn to just devour flashlight durability. If you plan on maining doc in the long run then I strongly recommend that you get Enduring while you learn the shock therapy timing for pallets.

3.) Trapper - The Trapper's perks work really well on the Doctor, it's scary how good they are. Brutal Strength is a great asset for any killer and from my personal experience, it is an excellent part of a Doc build if you don't want Enduring (people usually drop pallets early for me to counter my shocks). Unnerving presence also works wonders with the Doctor due to his ability to make skillchecks warp and shake. Finally, Agitation is always useful on killers and when you use Calm addon's with Unnerving or Overwhelming Presence it works even better.

All in all, just keep your chin up and don't let the mean nonsense folks spew at you do anything to your psyche. Dead by Daylight is a game that usually makes it impossible for everyone to be happy. If the survivors all escape, then the killer isn't happy (usually). If the killer kills everyone then the survivors whine (usually). Just do your thing and have fun!

Also, here's a video about running tiles that might help boost your chase game on both survivor and killer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8u0jRxN2kQ&t=147s

I am a new player, got around 30 hours in and I really like this game so far. Played both survivor and killer equally I think. My highest killer is a level 19 doctor. Been trying out all of them trying to find one or two I like the best.
I will out right say I am not very good at either role maybe a 4/10 if you had to rank me. Still learning and I get caught as a survivor very quickly and I can get looped endlessly as killer by decent survivors.

As much as I want to get better and play more the people are so toxic it has almost turned me off playing. I had a game last night as Doctor. I was getting beat for the most part, had hooked a few survivors maybe 4 times total with one of them being twice. I had just hung one as the last gen popped, I ran in that direction and happened to get another one quickly. I hung them on a hook very close to the previous one. The gate is available, and I have 2 hooked close together. So, I decided to just run back and forth between the hooks trying to get at least 1-2 kills. Again, I suck and managed to lose both and everyone escaped.

As soon as we get to chat they are blasting me for camping, even though during the game I didn’t spend one second around a hooked survivor until the very end when I was essentially beat.

Why is there so much animosity in this game? I always say gg after every game no matter what happens. Maybe it’s because I am older and being a dick on the internet is the cool thing to do these days. But I plead with the everyone playing this game please try and use some maturity and have fun. It is just a game at the end of the day. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose, either way BE NICE.

Grumpy old man rant complete. Have a nice day.

Blame the survivor and killer mains. They're all selfish high ranks (I'm high rank and selfish too) and they want their side to be easier. It ruins the experience for new players.

  • I play it a ton as of right now. But, I'd love it if they reworked NOED completely.

I feel that even with the out of chase for 15 seconds stipulation, you would still be able to use it to cheese a chase. At three tokens on a 115% killer, you'd be moving at 130% speed and close the distance twice as fast as you normally would. That's basically a free hit at that point, and 15 seconds is not a whole lot of time to get a free hit. That's basically like getting bloodlust 3 at the cost of bloodlust 1, except that speed boost doesn't go away any time you break a pallet or hit someone.

In a perfect world, it would be great, but it also has a huge potential to be used wrong. I wouldn't want to see a meta of people walking backwards or facing the ground to avoid a chase. It would take a lot of skill out of the game and I feel like that's something that's best to avoid.

Thanks for responding. Would you think a longer cooldown would work or is the idea in itself flawed?

I think a longer cooldown would only hurt the idea behind the perk even more. Say you increased it to 30 seconds. Now if you're using it properly you have to wait 30 seconds to get the speed bonus. At that point you probably could have found somebody anyway unless you're playing against the most immersed group around, so the perk would be negligible.

Meanwhile, someone who really struggles in a chase could still just look at the ground and use it to cheese. Say it takes 30 seconds to activate and another 10 to catch up and hit somebody, you're still only looking at 1:20 for a down. If you were not a good killer and that survivor is really outplaying you, that's not a significant amount of time. That's a chase that could have went on for several minutes if they kept playing their cards right.

The point at which the cooldown is too long for the perk to be used properly is way lower than the point where it wouldn't be worthwhile to cheese with it, is the way I see it. If I have to wait too long for it to activate, it wouldn't activate very often because I likely would have found a survivor by then anyway, making it feel like a wasted perk slot. But if I wanted to just cheese the chase mechanics, I could still do that even at a 30 second cooldown, for instance.

    I see. Thanks.

    Obviously

What if someone is in a chase all game, then has to run out the exit gates while injured? What if a survivor is making a last chance escape through the hatch? I think you've made this post because of exit gate t-baggers, but it's not that much of a problem. You can just hit them for more bloodpoints.

Then they should be punished for not being able to win a chase.
The hatch already gives bonus BP. At best, something like this would just cancel it out.

Still, exit gate t-bagging isn't that big a deal.

This wouldn't affect that in any way. At best, they'd have to leave without being hit.

Well, you think survivors should really get less BPs? When they already get like 1/4 or 1/3 the BPs of killers? I'm not saying playing survivor is hard or should allow you to get away with cheeky things, I'm just saying the BP side of things for survivors kind of sucks.

No, I think there should be some drawback to being injured (i.e.: failing to lose the killer). Something that lasts longer than 16 seconds.

Like what? I'm down for a drawback like 10% slower gen speed. (So 88 seconds when injured and alone). But that'd push Self care right back up to top and everyone would be forced to bring a medkit or a toolbox.

I wouldn't touch anything to do with healing (that includes being injured and in dying state) I'd just fix genrushing by adding a second objective.

  • Are you trolling? What if I've been tunnelled all game. OR what if I've been doing all the gens while injured because I don't run Self care. You basically want me to stay behind to heal which wastes everyones time. Hell naw.

  • It could kind of work. But I think this would have to be in a PTB to see if it really works.

Wait what was this "glimpse" you speak of?

In the last PTB where we saw the proposed Legion changes they acci8dentally slipped their possible new mechanic for Freddy. When he activated his power to Transition someone he walked slower. Not slower after he activated his power but slower when you hold the button to Transition. In the Devs stream after that PTB came out they confirmed that that was accident and it was from their Rework for Freddy.

Oh, that. Honestly it tells us nothing. Besides the fact it's just something that makes him weaker, it doesn't hint at any core changes to his design. On top of that, it's stuff that's being tested so this might not even make it to the final version.

    Tells us a little though.

  • This map also has like 9 pallets. Compared to the second least (the game) which still has 15 pallets and is still viable for survivors. They seriously need to fix it.

  • Well. Firstly, you killers came up with the idea and sold the survivors into it. It'd slow the game down for you and make survivors fun.

Imagine Wraith with it. And it'd help Legion have existing map pressure.

  • @Milo said:
    Maybe then more tokens?
But ofc they would give less power

I mean jumping from 115% to 130% with the 3 tokens is a massive change in itself.

  • Lights out sounds completely broken. That 7% would make killers way faster then the survivor which makes it unfair for them. Moving at 93% vs 115% is a differencce of 22%. That's basically making them far too fast. I'd personally remove that hindered effect and make the aura reading block for 24/28/32m.

Also, if you end up getting Leatherface, you should run insidious and facecamp people. The salt is the best <3

Why do you think the wait times will improve when dedicated servers release?

Will there be suddenly more players willing to play killer?

No, but it could do a better job of prioritizing survivors in the ques. I literally got the same 2 man like 4 times before I got my friends.

    I have my doubts.

Devs removed the region lock to improve lobby times. Now we get high ping players from all around the world.

I'm worried about the dedicated server position.

I've been in solo queue getting people from Russia and Eastern Europe along with central Europe which is highly unusual for me. I normally get western US, Central and South America, Auz/NZ and Asia including China.

    Exactly.
I've been getting players from NA, Russia, Japan, and Thailand while I'm sitting in Europe.
    Makes 0 sense.
Worst part is that they click ready with their 600+ ping.

On PC I get people from my part of the world. But on xbox they're from across the world. It sucks.

    Spirit Fury.

That's an easy one. Leatherface. Reason: He gets severely looped which causes him to become a killer with no ability. Running spirit fury on him allows him to get a free chainsaw hit after getting stunned by that particular pallet making him more viable especially if you combined it with enduring.

    Next perk: TINKERER

It's pretty much only good on Billy. Where he can appear out of nowhere at a gen. However, sometimes it can be used in chase to mindgame if you break the chase. It can also be used to keep track of the gens. Not good on most killers but really shines on Billy.

    Next perk: Agitation.
