Wait what? I didn't know she'd be able to lunge right after the teleport. But she can't move/walk, can she? I did the Adept challenge earlier today and I realized that she can't move after a teleport.

I believe she can? I played her earlier and didn't see any delay, did you have bad ping or were you next to something?

Also, I should do her adept lol, I did it for every killer and survivor back on console but haven't bothered to on PC aside from Spirit and Claudette.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

I'm sorry I still don't have enough shards for her 😭. She's 100% going to be the next killer I get

I bet you'll love her lol, she's just as fun as Spirit.

The vast majority of forums I've ever been on has Mods close any threads when they are duplicate topics like that. I'm kind of shocked this place doesn't do that too.

So many actual interesting and unique topics get buried immediately because every user who wants to complain about NOED or The Hatch or Freddy being OP or "insert flavor of the week" decides they need to be a super special snowflake and create their own thread about it instead of talking about it in the dozen of threads that already exist.

You see, if you're talking about me, I made a thread because I wasn't going to copy and paste my answers, and it's better to create a thread and see who agrees and disagrees, and to come to a solution.

And I got another game with a key, pretty irrelevant.

Keys and mori's are another issue though.

    I like Emptycups idea though.

Nah, just saying in case you messaged in the meantime and I was busy doing the big boi immersed plays. (Just to say it was a freaking Iri Huntress, but it was kinda fun despite us getting swiped off of the earth)

Please don't spread positive messages about hag lol I don't want them to become more common 😂

She can be annoying to face, but she's still the Queen and I still love her! 😄

  • @OniWantsUrLocation said:

The reason why I hate Hag more than any other killer in the game is the delay when teleporting. This delay before she can attack ruins her for me.

They removed that, she can lunge now?

  • By lunge, I mean how she can now lunge through her traps instantly. It's so fun XD.

    Yeah...

Last night I had a game on Lery's where I ended up slugging 3 people just because of an obnoxious flashlight-wielding Dwight being in my face constantly, so I was a little leery about picking one person up before I had him down.

So I hooked two people, but the last guy was an Ash and I didn't feel like he really deserved the three minutes he ended up on the floor just because the Dwight was so annoying. So I planned on giving him the hatch, but he just kept wiggling. Argh.

    Honestly, it's so triggering lol.

  • @Bovinity said:

Every time I try to give a survivor hatch lately, they refuse to stop wiggling.

Dammit, people, hold still for a second!

Honestly, it triggers me so much that I just hook them and tell them lol.

  • I've been having three minute games...

    Spoiler Spoiler Warning ▲▼

    as a survivor.

Honestly, solo que is insane these teammates are laughable.

The survivor one was because I was petty back in the day, and I hid for 40 minutes as Claudette at 5 gens, then stood at the hatch for about an hour.

    Would I do that now?

    Not at all.

I'd just let them go lol.

  • Bloody hell, as killer (I still did play it, cause Myers was bae) I think 20 mins then I let her go lol.

  • I used to be a console gamer, and on XBOX, it was just 5 mins as survivor (was a diehard survivor main) until the killers just let me go lol.

i want to make game more skill needed for survivors this is a horror game someone needs to die you should felt sorry for a person you left behind

bt does not requires any skill for what it does maybe like less than 500% gen repair total is more fair because killer should get a kill at endgame

Camping also requires no skill, BT is made to counter that, it's a bandaid.

  • @Blueberry said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1287408#Comment_1287408

So essentially no hatch but collapse starts on last survivor, new scoring event for hiding and lots more bloodpoints for the longer you last during this phase?

Yeah, I kinda liked that. It removes hatch, but also rewards survivors if they can run the killer. Also, got ANOTHER game with a killer with a mori, so cya.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

I have a better idea - the number of Generators is "X". Quite simply, the number of Generators increases each time the Survivors are close before winning. They stop increasing when the last Survivor is sacrificed.

With this we have the balance that every brown Rank Forum Killer can get their 4K :]

Damn, that's one balanced idea, maybe it'd still be too hard as killer though.

  • @Blueberry said:

3 gens required to be completed for it to spawn, that easy.

A solution wasn't offered because you hadn't asked for one, you just said it was good as it is.

Doesn't fix the issue of being screwed with bad teammates. I quite like @emptyCups idea more, tell me what you think about that?

  • @brokedownpalace said:

You know what would be a good idea? If they did "special" week long events where they revert certain changes to remind everyone how imbalanced the game used to be.

    Week 1: Hatch Standoffs

Week 3: Instarepair Brand New Parts

    Week 4: No Hook Moris

    Week 5: Exhaustion Running Recovery

    Week 6: Totem Free NOED

    @Peanits What do you think?

    That'd be hilarious lol

"And I never said I always expect the hatch"

I never said you did, that doesn't change that expecting the hatch is entitlement in a general sense, not you specifically.

Just because the hatch mechanic solves the standoff issue doesn't mean it's balanced at all, those are not mutually exclusive.

"these complaints are literally killers wanting it to be even more tilted in their favour."

    No they are not.

They are pointing out how stupid of a mechanic it is. It has nothing to do with tribalism towards one side. It gives an escape after losing the game.

I agree that the mechanic is stupid, yes. But if they're not going to offer a better solution then their complaints are worthless. At least @emptyCups offered a solution instead of just making a fuss.

I also have a cheap headset and I can tell you that that is not the case for me. That's a big problem with this game: they massively broke the sounds half a year ago and never really fixed them. Chase music mutes almost everything, environmental ques mute almost everything, generators and ambient sounds mute almost everything, and on top of that sound files still just randomly don't activate. This means stealth is easier than ever, even without mentioning the awful, awful maps. And there isn't a single perk in the game that makes stealth unviable. If someone wants to crouch in a bush, whispers can only tell you so much.

    You know which sound I REALLY hate because it disorientates me? It's that stupid scream after you hook someone. I can't listen out for injured survivors over it ;-;

End game collapse starting on the last remaining Survior. 200% bonus bp during this timer. New scoring event for hiding from the killer during egc

If you dont help your team live you shouldn't live simple as that completely fair

However bonus bp during solo time at least makes a final chase worthwhile 2 minutes still enough time to do a gen and escape or open the gates if your team has already completed them.

200% bonus bp might actually work now that you think about it, since in EGC people tend to get chased anyways. Make a thread about it, I can definitely get by that idea, although I'd miss hatch, but it'd work.

I would never play solo Q survivor if the hatch did not exist. I'd only play in SWF or as the killer. Solo Q is already super painful sometimes, and having no hope of escape when somebody suicides on first hook after going down in 10 seconds, DCs, or manages to get themselves killed at 4-5 gens left, would kill my enthusiasm for the game.

Bad solo Q teams are a thing in every game, but in most games you are on even grounds with the enemy team, so at least you can do something about it most of the time. Here it would be "well your team is bad, you just get hopelessly massacred", which is already going to happen for at least 2/3 of the people remaining.

I'd actually quit solo Q as well, even now, I mostly play killer because Oni is too satisfying and fun to play. I only play survivor because I know the hatch is there and can at least excuse bad teams (although most teams nowadays are great and I haven't had a hatch game in ages).

Some when was I an avatar if all killers? Everything you just said about 'counters' is pretty ######### stupid as well. Especially since I am not a killer main. Or a 'main' in general.

And you are suggesting I spend 500-600 USD (way more in my currency) on a good soundcard and headset to accurately detect something that doesn't even get activated by crouching in a bush with UE? AND is currently bugged AF?

I never said you're an avatar for all killers. I was merely stating what the general killer sides' perspective is, and how your statement (I assumed you were killer sided, so I apologise) shows hypocrisy.

And I never said you should spend 500-600 USD on a headset lmao, I got a cheap headset which works just fine for tracking grass moving and breathing.

  • Yeah, of course you'd say that. It's bs I'm not. I was putting it out there because most of what I've said in this thread looks like I'm survivor sided to most people but I wanted to clarify I do play both sides before people pull out the argument 'He'S a SuRvIvOr MaIn He'S IrReLeVaNt'.

I wish you'd play killer some. Learn some perspective.

That being said, the best end game strategy as last one standing is to not even bother with the hatch.

Sute doors spawn really close sometimes but as a survivor, rank 4 cause i cant run for #########, Ive only had a handful if occurrences where the doors were so clise together i couldn't open one of them and escape.

The hatch is a chance but if you place everything on it you are, by design going to lose without a key.

If you want a chest to spawn at the end with a key in it thats fine. But hatch standoffs were much more of an issue than EGC

Omg yeah, I never go for the hatch myself, I just camp one of the doors, wait for the killer to close hatch and check it, and try to escape, if they catch me, they win, if they don't, I win.

  • just to clarify, i play both sides equally before people call me a survivor main...

  • @alaenyia said:

The very last sentence really tells you what you need to know about this guy. To paraphrase "Outta 18 games I should have 4k'd 18 times." No, that is not the game, that is not balance. And if you think it is, just ask devs to completely eliminate survivors and kill NPC characters all day long. Killers are not supposed to 4k every game, that would not be a game at all.

And the hatch and EGC as is is already massively killer sided, so your comment that "Besides why shouldn't it be strong for the killer" is irrelevant because it already is. The killer can freely move about the map and generally sees the hatch before the survivors if it takes longer than 2 minutes to pop the last gen. So more often than not it is immediately slammed upon opening. The doors also spawn very close which w/o a hatch option would take a 15% chance to survive in a 1v1 end game situation to about 0%. And as someone else already pointed out speed killers are already boosted for EGC.

You also can't control your team mates, and being the last survivor does not mean your team was bad or potato. Maybe you been in that match for half and hour and it was hard fought but the killer finally whittled it down to 1. Maybe you are a solo player and your team was terrible or the killer systematically camped/tunneled and slugged your team to death. Just because a person survived until they were the only one is not necessarily a reflection on the surv team or the individual or the killer for that matter. So this "last survivors deserve to die because they are the last, is a bunch of BS." And if people are leaving out the door in EGC or even last man hatching it up, the killer didn't win. They were mot cheated out of a win. They were not denied after they "won". You just didn't 4k. Which in the instances we are generally referencing (where only 1 escaped) you did win. A 3k is a win. It is more than half, above average. You were not swindles by anyone, the last guy just bested you.

My proposal to keep the complaining at bay is to stop letting the hatch spawn before it opens. Once the match is down to one survivor it spawns/opens simultaneously and it could not have been scouted out ahead of time. It also would mean that keys were only useful after a killer closed the hatch and only a single person could use it, so it would cut down on 3 people suddenly peacing out of a match. More fair for killers against a bunch of people getting to leave, more fair for the last survivor to have a chance to escape.

I like that, would help my case a lot, but also fix most the issues people have. I get a LOT of SWF with keys and only end up with a 2k :3

  • @emptyCups said:

the hatch is a free escape

Someone people define free hits as something very likely to land...

Or moris free kills because it skips hook steps... dispite the effort of the first chase and hook and required rescue and resource

Some people even define free wins as anyone playing irr huntress or spirt because they seem simple or OP

The hatch doesn't require any perks. Progress, effort in the slightest. You don't need to help your team. You don't need to be lucky or even look that hard for one you don't need prep or use a strat. You expend nothing jumping hatch that opens instantly and escapes the same. The killer can't even stop you by downing you and its impossible to catch you. You can even DC to give someone else the hatch

You used to at least need to do gens not even that. Just exist and exit for a victory

Yeah every single game this has an opportunity to happen

    The hatch needs to go.

I only agree with the DC being bs there, the rest, again is irrelevant because the hatch is the only solution to the issue that they currently have which is solo survivors being screwed over by their teammates and it prevents them holding the game hostage. If you can give me a better solution, that's fair to both sides, I'll agree with you. And tell me, what would you switch it for?

  • @Blueberry said:

These complaints didn't come out of no where at all, they've been here since hatch existed. Also, no one is saying hatch wasn't worse before, but it is still a terrible mechanic as it is.

"I'm genuinely disgusted at the entitlement being shown."

Entitlement is expecting the hatch. It's a free and undeserved escape.

Current hatch is the equivalent of the killer killing no one but as the last survivor goes to run out the gate it blocks him from leaving to give the killer a free kill so he at least gets something. Sound like a stupid idea? Exactly, that's what hatch currently is.

Recently they've skyrocketed in complaints. And I never said I always expect the hatch, in fact I almost NEVER get the hatch myself, and end up giving up at EGC so I can enjoy the animation with the killer. Anyways, as I stated before, the hatch is in place to prevent survivors hiding for 20 minutes. And yes, I have been in a game where a survivor has hid for that long back when hatch standoffs were a thing. I even spectated the Claud.

The hatch is a bandaid for the issue, but it's currently balanced, and these complaints are literally killers wanting it to be even more tilted in their favour.

Always, and will continue to do so until it gets some kind of balance. It straight up gives an extra advantage to the survivors without giving anything to the killer to make up for that advantage. Its unbalanced.

Wait, are you complaining about SWF too now? Why've you gone so far off topic?

  • @havoc said:

Hello, I play both Survivor and Killer a lot, i enjoy both and i think it is good that the game is getting balanced, however i think it would be an idea to reward the killer if the survivor has to use a key to escape.

I just had a doctor match on Lery's memorial institute, there was 1 gen left and 1 survivor was dead. I think i had a great chance of winning as the 3 gens weren't that far from each other and at least 2 of them had been hooked twice already, then one guy gets rescued and him and his friend jump into the hatch, i close it and then the doors were quite far from each other so the last survivor could escape.

Keys are a part of the game and a way to counter mori in my opinion, however i think it should somehow reward the killer when the survivors have to use the hatch to escape as they can't finish the last gen(s)

I remember Tru3ta1ent talking about this in the past, you can play a decent game as a killer where you are likely to win and then the survivors just use a key and escape which quite frequently gives the survivors a +pip and the killer has to settle with barely a 0 pip.

I think Killers should get more from the games when the survivors use a key to escape and the survivors shouldn't get rewarded with 5000 points (7500 if they don't have max objective points) and quite frequently get a +pip (depends on what else they did that match, but escaping gives good)

The doctor game i just played ended with the 3 survivors escaping easily and i just exactly got 0 pip even though i played well and got 27k bloodpoints.

I'm curious to hear what others have to say about this, if you agree or not, just please provide an explanation as to why you may agree or disagree.

Here are some screenshots for proof.

If you do that then you have to reward survivors for a first hook mori. Otherwise i see no issue with what youre saying.

  • @WRussoW said:

If you're a smart killer with good mobility (aka the Spirit, the Hillbilly, etc) and you kill some survivors before the hatch spawns and you want to get a 4k, you'd let survivors fix gens until it spawns, find it and then kill the rest of the team. Unless survivors have a key, they don't have a chance to escape in this scenario. If they refuse to fix gens, a killer may just wait until they fix gens or wait until both survivors appear at one spot.

The devs have stated that a last survivor always has at least a chance to escape solely but the whole mechanic makes this statement straight up a lie.

They still have a chance, it may be tiny, but there's a chance.

Try playing hag on a massive map with flashlights and survivors who either get chased or do gens all the time. Try it if 2 people are always on gens while 1 unhooks or 3 on gens while 1 is chased. You will lose 1 gen per chase. Hillbilly can instadown. He can slug almost as good as oni and he has the best mobility in the game in outdoor maps.

I have, and I've lost at times, won at times. Billy would also die against the calibre of survivors I faced, because those survivors wouldn't let him get a saw in. You're not changing my mind on that.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1286213#Comment_1286213

My idea is biased because it should be. A free escape should not be a thing. Free kills don't exist (don't say mori it's not built in) hatch is like if 4 survivors are alive and open the gates but one is instantly killed 50% of the time because they beat the killer. First the survivors can beat the killer. Then hatch is a 50 50. Then keys can be found in chests with about a 1 in 10 chance. Then doors are a 50 50. That's 3 50 50 chances a survivor gets to escape plus a 1 in 10 chance. While the killer has a 50 50 chance to beat the survivors before they win.

If you're bringing keys into it, Mori will be brought in, and they're the definition of free kills.

And again, your idea is flawed, I've already explained why so I wont bother again. Doors aren't a '50/50' they're killer biased, aside from some maps, and again, I've already explained why.

This discussion isn't going anywhere, let's agree to disagree.

I main oni too. I literally have a you tube channel. Hawkins is horrible with him and is just as bad if not worse than lerys. Billy is way better than hag due to coordinated teams destroying her.

Spirit is affected by indoor maps due to all the turns and walls making it very hard to quickly track scratches on the ground.

Nope, if a Spirit tracks by scratch marks, they're probably not going to win anyways no matter what map it is, it's all about sounds with her. I've mained Spirit before at a very high level (not to sound like a narcissist, but I did face and thrash SWF's a LOT) so I know what you're saying is wrong.

Billy aint half as good as Hag. Coordinated SWF's destroy him too, the only killers who wouldn't lose are Nurse and Spirit lmfao. Again, I've played both at a high enough level to know them inside out. Hag against SWF is rough, but if your build has STBFL and you're unpredictable with your traps, you can dominate, but it's vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy difficult. Billy isn't as good as her, not even half as good. He's still a great killer, but he's no Hag.

Yeah, genrushing is literally the only counterplay you can have. But you cant really call that counter play.

    Spirit issues:

    1. no animation when going into phasemode
    2. no sound cues while in her terror radius
    3. passive phasing removes her red stain
    4. while phasing, she can still get readings from survivor positioning(fast vaults, surveillance, discordance, unhooks), while survivors at best get a woosh that is maxed out 5 meters around her.
    5. she has an easier time hearing breathing and injured people while having the movementspeed of wraith without any downsides. Not even a stun(seriously, she would be so much better to play against if she got a stun after her ability).
    6. Technically not an issue with spirit specifically, but add Stridor on spirit, and you literally cannot juke her. The only thing you can do is pallet stun her, and even that is not a guarantee.

    Freddy issues:

    1. his addons alone are disgusting, some being even basically dying light at full stacks from the start of the game, applied to everyone.
    2. His teleport cooldown shouldnt be loading when everyone is awake, he still gets a teleport roughly every 20 seconds even when people are awake.
    3. His slows are Clown's slows but better as they are pretty much permanent. The worst part? Even if you get out of the original trap, it still is applied onto you for 2 seconds. Meaning its a 3-4 second slow, when it should be a 1-2 second slow.
    4. Even if he uses his pallets, there is literally nothing you can tell the difference with the pallet. With Doc, they are dropped and its revealed to you that they are dropped as soon as you hit them. Freddy's pallets are not revealed untill you drop them. That difference is extremely important. Freddy's pallets literally stop your movement to drop a fake pallet, where Doc's don't. Aka, Freddy's pallets are stronger than Doc's and Freddy's slow is better than Clown.
    5. Then, technically, Freddy's lunge is the largest of all since his hitbox is smaller. Meaning he can reach further where other killers wouldnt hit. Meaning he can hit you practically on the opposite side of the pallet where other killers cant reach you earlier. Considering his set-up is already incredibly strong, and his addons make his kit even worse, making him by far the strongest killer in the game, towering over spirit, huntress and nurse.

Do you want to kill Freddy and Spirit?

I still stand by my post i think the best possible solution to solve a huge issue with hatch is the death timer being applied to hatch when someone dc's i think its a fair and logical mechanic that would solve a lot of stress around the hatch and it would also nerf tactical dc's into oblivion which would calm my people down that complain about hatch.

Yeah, I actually agreed with you about adding a death timer for DC's too. That's the only constructive one I've seen.

  • Oh my god, now there's complaints coming from survivors. What does it take to satisfy you guys? The hatch is FINE.

  • Mad, can't believe someone else runs my exact build lol, I feel flattered.
