My brother (when he plays .-.) runs Calm Spirit every game to not get screwed by a shock. I personally use lockers (only a bit though) but play very aggressively on the gens to try to rush it.
-
I do think something needs to be done about stridor itself, not Spirit. I think it should affect breathing to a higher percentage but not affect injured survivors so it wont butcher Iron will, or make Iron will work against it.
-

Bruh, can people stop complaining AGAIN against bloody spirit? You got her nerfed, bugger off
Apparently good killers are unhealthy for the game. Next on the chopping block would be Oni, then Hag, then Billy, then Freddy until it eventually goes to Leatherface needing a nerf because he'll outshine all the other killers even if he isn't changed lmao.
-
Scratch marks, nope unless you'll increase something to compensate.
Her cooldown after she lunges could be interesting.

tana does not help in the rush gene, it only works if you are Legion or Plague, because 16% is only 12.4 seconds if they are all constantly injured
12.4 does make a difference with some killers. A HUGE difference.
-
I actually wish.
-
I've found that happens with Spirit, I just find a game as Leatherface or something and switch to Spirit when I'm in the lobby.
-
I actually kinda like him as he is, cause his counter is more stealth and pressuring gens rather than being able to run him around. If he were to get a wind up animation or something, he'd become a worse Huntress.
-
Just to say, I only ranked Spirit higher than Nurse because Nurse is bugged as hell. I also do consider Oni and Myers better than Freddy. (Myers is an odd one, but his vaulting speed increase and his lunge increase in EW3 makes him really scary at loops)

I keep falling into the trap of getting lots of hits, but not a lot of downs. Games with monitor definitely seem to go better than without--does that 8m terror radius reduction really make that much of a difference? Do you have any builds you like involving stealthy hag/m&a? Ty for all the advice!
Ugh lots of teams seem to have an ooo user who burns off your traps with a flashlight. So annoying xD
I used to run it on Hag, it was very good. But I forgot my exact build since it was so long ago, make a thread on it and hopefully someone can get you a nice one.

Indeed but it does mean a bunch of baby Hags that heavily trap the hook and barely leave the area anyway.
I hate when people do that, but smart teams will beat them. If only more people knew how to counter Hag, cause I get dragged down when I try to counter her but my team don't play it properly and set her traps off :/

After two rounds, I could see how this build would be good on a very agressive hag. I realized how much I rely on monitor and abuse to get that first hit in--without m&a, survivors were fleeing gens and patrol routes a lot quicker and I felt like I got less nurses procs even though the group was consistently healing. A fun, strong build, but I think I'm starting to love the stealth, hit and run style of playing hag
It's strange right? She plays a bit like Wraith with the hit and run, but she downs quickly too. Slugging is also recommended if you're chasing a few people at once. Also, I think I forgot to say, but don't chase much, even if someone is being annoying and disarming your traps, don't commit to a chase and continue to reset your web, patience is important.

Personally I feel like corrupt intervention is better if you're looking to get more time as Hag and there are much more interesting options for her as well such as agitation and STBFL which can minimize downtime. There's just so much room for her to have more unique builds given how good she is.
Idk, maybe I just like having a challenging start. But you're right, a lot of perks work with her because of the nature of her power, she's very versatile.
@NICK714 said:
tana in meta? lol tana is a garbage xD
Lots of people call it a 'meta' perk. I also verse it quite a bit.
-
@vampire_toothy said:
I still think thanatophobia holds little value in the game as it only adds a maximum of 15 extra seconds to gens, which while nice is easily outclassed by other perks that can save you more time overall like pop or perks that allow you to punish a team harder in general such as perks like infectious fright and ruin.
While the combo of thanatophobia and sloppy butcher is common to see on m1 killers, it's just decent at best and a decent team can easily work through that or adapt by putting on other perks that negate the ones you're using. Not only this but a lot of people who run these two perks also run nurses calling which leaves it very easy to know most of the killer's build. Not only this but perks like sloppy butcher loses its value on any killer who injures/downs players using their power. In addition to this, sloppy butcher isn't as good on Legion anymore due to the fact that their frenzy no longer counts as a basic attack, meaning it will only apply when you actually down the survivors.
Basically I like other perks better and while it's nice that you enjoy the combo, I simply don't see the value in it especially when I enjoy killers who do not get that much value out of those two perks in particular.
I play Hag a lot, and it's super oppressive on her, considering that she can injure a team within 20 seconds effortlessly, and it actually happens pretty often despite what you'd think.
-
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

Healing with sloppy butcher should take 19.2 seconds.
If you managed to hook/injure/down 4 survivors at the same time with sloppy then healing should take 21.76 seconds.
So you see,at its max, thana would increase healing time by a mere 2.5 seconds.Really not worth it in my opinion.
There are more impactful perks to use than thana, but there is obviously nothing wrong about using this perk.
In a game like dbd, 2.5 seconds makes a massive difference. Massive. It can be the difference between a gen and a pop goes the weasel. Anyways, things often work differently in practice than on paper. Keep in mind, together they add 5.76 seconds to healing, and make self caring take 43.52 seconds. Survivors waste time looking for each other.
Again, you feel the difference in practice, not on paper.
-
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
I extremely dislike thana.
It's such a bad perk which is only decent with legion and plague.
Perks like Pop goes the weasel are just way more consistent.
Thana on Hag is godlike. Trust me, it's one of the better perks in the game imo, although pop wold be my choice on killers like Spirit.

Thank you for the reply!
Corrupt would work instead, definitely. STBFL just does wonders against SWF.

Please let me know if this is derailing the thread, but all of you talking about hags strengths make me want to check her out! What are some of your favourite builds and add-ons on her? Most of the builds I see for her incorporate pre-nerf ruin, so I am wondering what the meta for her is, especially for a newbie.
Ok so I got this DISGUSTING build. I made it myself ages ago, but it really does work if you're on point with the traps. Thanatophobia, Sloppy Butcher, A Nurses caling and Save the best for last. You trap routes and some loops (mostly routes though but the OP loops have to be trapped) in one half of the map. Survivors can't even bother healing because it takes FOREVER, and even if they do get a heal, they'll likely run into your traps. STBFL is mainly for SWF matchups when they run through your traps, it can let you change that disadvantage into a complete advantage and down/injure them easily. A Nurses Calling is to find them if they do try to heal (which they do oddly enough) and Thanatophobia + Sloppy combo just gives you complete gen pressure in your half of the map.
Very overpowered build, weak early game (expect to lose 2-3 gens on the other side) but almost unbeatable late game. Against flashlight matchups, you gotta commit to your half and try to set up before they get to you, that way you can down them quickly. But, it will be tough to win with this setup, but not impossible.
Addons wise, I actually don't use anything but brown addons, if you want full map pressure, use her green range addon and the green trap duration addon then you can trap the whole map.
You will learn Hag over experience though, and this build could not be your style at all, do tell me if you like it.
(My god, I went on a mad one explaining the build lol hope it helps)
-
Killer, time to get my Oni/Spirit out (I can win pretty easily with them), if they get the hatch, they deserve it.
Survivor, time to play immersed and try to give them the run of their lifetime if they see me (usually it's an iri head Huntress so you can imagine that I die in the first 10 seconds of the chase)

Love Hags gameplay, but I feel like dead hard is a bit more problematic when I play Hag. I play her in 20-30% of my killer matches so she's probably my main, but I do enjoy variety... I was gonna say I know a Hag main but he already made his grand entrance ;D Hey SpaceCoconut!
I feel a bit more relaxed when I play Hag, when a gen or two pops it's not the end of the world because I was probably spending the time setting up so I'm much more capable mid-late game to nab the 4k, though I despise slugging for the 4k, it's boring for both parties involved just for a few extra points or the double pip.
Hag has one of the strongest late game capability in the game. Only Oni has a stronger one tbh.

Some people are just stupid.
I've seen people complaining that looping is an exploit. I've seen people saying healing is too quick (after the nerf). I've seen people saying unhooking is too fast, survivors live too long, ds is unfair because I can't tunnel (I've had this in post-game before).
I've also seen slugging being called an exploit, clown being called op, legion consistently gets called op (lmao).
People will be dumb and people will always say stupid things. Saying "The killer's job is to kill" is the same as saying "The survivor's job is to survive." Using this you can justify infinities, old syringes, (old) old pantry, (old old) old ds. The same as you can justify (old) old noed, old 4 blink no downside nurse, old 5 blink nurse, old omegablink™ nurse, old PrayerBeads™ spirit, old ForeverFreddy™.
What I'm saying is, the phrase in the title falls apart under any form of scrutiny. Accept that people will be stupid and move on, maybe drop them a block if the platform supports it so you don't see them again.
I agree with you wholeheartedly.

She is my go to against tough teams because:
- Nobody knows how to counter her.
- She can deny loops way more efficiently than those two killers can if played right.
- Xbox players don't expect her (which is my platform).
- I love mindgames where it looks like a lose-lose for survivors. : D
I remember playing Hag on xbox, she actually felt weaker on it, idk, but on console, some of the R1 teams were far stronger than the PC R1 teams I've faced since switching. It's strange.

Hag is a territorial killer like Trapper and if you’re not playing her territorial then you aren’t playing her to her fullest potential.
Saying that though, you still have to be GOOD with Hag in order to play her and not get stomped against good teams. You have to spend quite a while setting up your web of traps, knowing where to place your traps, and herding survivors into your traps. A baby Hag that hards camps with all her traps and doesn’t leave the hook will lose unless the team is super altruistic.
Hag also has HARD counters like flashlights, OoO, and simply crouching. Boring counters? Yes but you can easily counter her. I wouldn’t say playing Hag is an “easy game”.
And if you think Hag has no map pressure then you are delusional. She arguably has the best map pressure in the entire game because she can chase and juggle all the survivors at one time.
If you don’t like Hag then that is all good, many people don’t Hag for basically the same reason. I just don’t see how Hag has “0 map pressure” and how Hag equals an “easy game”.
By the way, who really cares what popular Rank 1 streamers say? People take their opinions like it’s gospel. Players need to formulate their own opinions about killers rather than piggy-backing on what popular streamers say. It’s so annoying.
@MegMain98 <3, better than what I used to say, thanks a lot! Also, I agree with the high ranked streamer thing, people follow them like sheep. Remember when they called SB bad, or when Tyde called Hag D tier (after her buffs), Usilyss thinks she's only made for camping hooks too. You're right about people needing to form their own opinions on killers. I remember way back when I was a survivor main, I used to go with whatever Ochido said, and after I started thinking for myself more, I began to see just how wrong he was on literally everything.
-
@Raven014 said:
I actually like playing Hag, but I dont say that too much because I don't want her getting nerfed like Nurse.
I don't think she's THAT strong, Spirit and Oni are certainly stronger than Hag so it's unlikely she'll get nerfed, plus, she's not played a lot so she's considered bad and people don't complain about her at all.

I play hag when i want an easy game. And I have played her extensively at rank 1. Those are my opinions of her, as well as many other popular rank 1 streamers if you don't agree.
You need to know how to loop with hag, since you need to know where to place the traps optimally. It is the same with trapper. But as far as mechanically executing it after that? It is mashing control, or mousewheel down, depending on your keybind preferences, and then collecting your free hits.
"Don't commit to chases, set up your traps in one area" BUT SHE'S NOT MADE FOR CAMPING. Like cmon, at least listen to what you are saying yourself.
Oh, that explains it. You think setting up traps in one area is camping lol. My bad, I thought it was called a defensive playstyle, and assumed by camping you meant camping the hook.
But that doesn't make my points wrong, by playing defensively, Hag has one of the strongest chasing and one of the best map pressure.
You should've clarified your definition, since most people don't consider that camping.

Let's see, a 110 killer, aka a killer with 0 map pressure, who's traps can be disarmed by walking over them if she isn't in the general vicinity? Do I want to distribute them all over the map, and have the majority of them be useless.....or do I want to concentrate them in one area where I can teleport to any single one of them if they are triggered? Aka a 3 gen or near a hook? Hmmm, tough choices.
That's like saying trapper isn't made for camping. Even the most beloved trapper mains (otzdarva) describes the trapper as "territorial" (aka someone who camps). Ohtofu, another beloved streamer, describes the hags power as "good for camping" in his tier list.
Let me spend 30-60 seconds setting up traps and then walk away from them so they are worthless. During a chase, anyone with a flashlight can disarm your traps before they are triggered, rendering your power worthless if they are any good. And even a yellow flashlight can disarm like 20+ traps with it's default charges. That means to get anyone using one, they have to step into the traps unaware.
Sure, you can do some battle hag moves and pretend you are going to teleport to a trap during a chase but then not take it and omg 9000 IQ mindgame, but that's such a suboptimal playstyle it's hardly worth mentioning. Sorry to break it to you. If you want to chase people down, play another killer who is designed for it.
I used to have this really neat little speech about Hag's true power I used to copy and paste when people said she's bad or campy, but I lost that and cba retyping it. But yes, you should concentrate your traps in one half of the map, that's common sense, that's not a campy playstyle, and that makes her have serious map pressure.
I dunno how to explain her to you, since my whole playstyle is very unique when it comes to Hag, but I'll say one thing, if you think she's THAT simple, and take the advice of streamers who don't even main her, you'll never understand her. You see, with Hag, you never want to commit to people, usually you will spawn far from survivors, so it's best to trap up your current location, and force them into you. This does mean you sacrifice generators, but she has a VERY strong late game. This is also her only chance against a flashlighter, to setup away from them and force them into her, which works effectively in my experiences.
Also, comparing her to Trapper is very dumb, Trapper has a power to shut down loops in specific, Hag shuts down routes and areas with hers. They're so different it's funny.
I don't think you'd get Hag anyways, since you obviously dislike her. So let's agree to disagree, since she's obviously not a camper, and there's no chance you would see that. Have a nice night/day.

Gotta be honest, I get more frustrated playing solo survivor, killer kinda relaxes me, it's weird.

I hope more people don't play her because she is one of the lamest killers killers to go against, unless you are urban evading around or in a flashlight SWF. Who doesn't love a hag with 10 traps around the hook?

So true lol, had one earlier, was super fun, I kept triggering her traps and getting to safety and it annoyed her, but hey, she won in the end but it was a super fun game. Props to her for not getting annoyed and chasing me down like most would, it'd have lost her the game. Really fun game though.

Some Hags play like that and win, it baffles me how they can play a killer so wrong. Hag isn't a campy killer as most people claim, she's very strong and is all about chasing and map pressure. It really triggers me when my teammates let Hags like that win, because they don't know how to counter her. Wish she was more played, as @MegMain98 said.

Eh, P3 is hardly noticeable on hag. One of those is real, one of those is fake. You can't really combine it with anything other than this outfit either. It's impossible to not camp with hag if there are 2+ flashlights in the lobby, unless you want to be a 110 killer with no power. She is made for it, so if you like camping, hag is for you.
Hag isn't 'made' for camping, Hag is made for map pressure and chasing. Her power is also strong for camping, but you haven't faced a good Hag, or played her well if you see her as an only camping killer. Against SWF with flashlights, I find that STBFL does gods work for helping me, because I can keep them off me by slugging and reset my web (I trap in bizarre locations so they don't predict them much) and eventually, with difficulty, I'll scrape a win.
Plus, my build is scummy in the sense that I actually WANT to be chased, since I run Thanatophobia, Sloppy butcher, A Nurses Calling and STBFL which basically means the more people injured, the more free map pressure I get.

Honestly, I never would have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it.
My muscle memory makes me start moving after teleporting or swinging right away. I'll pay more attention to it tonight and see how impactful it is.
Just thinking about it though, you're swinging blind if you go for a lunge right after teleporting and depending on the distance of the survivor if they have a quick reaction to the phantasm it could mean a miss whereas waiting a second before swinging or moving would mean a hit.
It's an interesting change, but I wonder if it's a bug.
They actually intended it funnily enough, they said they 'fixed' it. Although it wasn't supposed to be there. Pretty funny on the devs part, they changed their mind and shadow buffed her.

Bruh, here's a challenge, escape against a good Spirit with good add-ons in this scenario. But, I guess, there's a chance if you have all criteria above, be near gates from the very beginning, the hatch spawns very far away from the gates and a killer goes to the wrong gates, you may escape, congrats! Take your 0.1% chance and be happy.
0.1% is still a chance :P

2 Survivors gets pips for how much they helped so if they die and other 3 escapes they get a +1 pip because they helped also if you have voice chat you can save your camped teammate bodyblock sabo etc.
Yeah, I quite like them. It's a nice post, hopefully a mod sees this and forwards the ideas.
