  • @Bbbrian2013 Hopefully when it comes to other realms with multiple maps, all of them will be changed or otherwise the job will never be done.

  • Just because I knew Freddy rework was coming and I wanted to play him, I didn't even play killer and stayed at rank 10. The queue times are bearable here.

  • In my opinion... She needs to work more like the nurse where after you come out of phasing, you have a certain amount of time (possibly a few seconds) to lunge to try and hit survivors. The biggest problem I have with spirit is that the moment you're unsure of where the survivor is, you can just come out of phase and immediately start moving and in most cases the survivor will be out of position due to their attempts at mindgaming her. If she worked more like nurse where she got a stun after phasing, you'd have to use the power more carefully.

@PolarBear Whats the difference between a competitive game and a party game? You have ppl who get competitive about ANY game, so why should this be any different? Try playing a game of monopoly and see how long it takes before ######### gets heated.

@LordGlint There is a difference between playing competitively and devs making a game competitive by choice. I'd rather keep DbD more on the casual side. There isn't really that big of a point playing competitively due to the balance problems that exist, the rng on some maps and map layouts and the inconsistencies between players skill levels in the same ranks.

  • One of the appeals of the game for me is that no one (in game or in lore) speak in the trials. VC would ruin this. Even if I turned it off there would be some tryhard survivors who would start to complain to me "WhY dIdN't YoU dO wHaT i ToLd YoU?"

DbD also is not a competitive game, it is a party game that some people take too damn seriously.

  • @Onionthing said:

    Sure,

Just be prepared for tier lists, optimal play guides and people ready to drop party because you wont run the strongest survivors.

But Im just a killer main so I dont know anything about that...

    *sips tea*

Ever heard of buffs or nerfs?

  • @Orion said:

My only problem with NOED: survivors who don't break totems.

You are not exempt from countering a perk and also exempt from its effects. This is entitlement of the highest order.

This stems from the mindset that "once all gens are done, the survivors win".

People who complain about noed are usually the same people who think that they, as a survivor, have already won the game once the last gen has been completed. They don't like the fact that their victory is being robbed from them.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

Adrenaline is just as much of a cause as it is a reward, so I'd like to see it changed. People say it's a reward for completing gens, but I'd argue that entire team isn't hammering gens while injured if they don't all have Adrenaline, and thus the gens might not get done in the first place if they actually took the time to heal throughout the game. Any health state before death hook doesn't matter because gens are repaired at the same speed and you escape the same way whether you've been hooked twice or zero times.

Adrenaline works the same just like old Mettle of Man did. You taking hits to "earn" a free healthstate is something that would happen every trial but you just get rewarded because you took the perk in question. You work on gens like you would normally and get rewarded because you took the perk in question.

Only reason (I think) adrenaline isn't complained about is because it, in some peoples opinion, happens after the last gen is done and that is the exact moment when those people think that the killer has already lost the game and the survivors have won. If adrenaline happened at, say, 1 or 2 gens left, everyone would go bonkers about it. It would totally ruin the killers fun.

The same people who complain about noed are usually the same people who defend or have no quarrel with adrenaline, because they think the match is already over and they as a survivor should already have won the match. They think if the killer has noed that the killer robbed them of the escape that they already earned.

If noed should be compared to something it should be old mettle of man. The difference is one of them has a counter, one did not.

    I'm a killer main, I don't care about Adrenaline.

They earned it, if I can't get my 4 kills before the last generator pops, I might as well go to a door and open it for them afterwards.

    NOED rewards bad killers. Done.

Survivors shouldn't be punished for accomplishing their objectives.

@MaskedMurderer Why would you open the door for them? The game isn't over once the generators are done. It's over once every survivor has either escaped or been sacrificed.

If noed rewards bad killer, how about it activate once killers accomplish something? Say, sacrifice x amount of survivors? They've earned it since they've done such a good job feeding the entity.

  • @GrootDude said:

Are they possibly testing an adrenaline nerf?

    Probably not.

  • @TheGameZpro3 said:

You can. you can already do that.

Near the chat is a button that when clicked allows you to hide the chat.

iirc that doesn't make it automatically close each play session but you can set it to close automatically through the config files.

  • One change I'd like to see for DS is that it would deactivate when you enter a locker or if you get grabbed from a locker. It's so abuseable to just jump into a locker with 30 seconds of DS left and making the killer either eat the ds or wait for 30 seconds to grab you.

  • I like the perk as killers because it makes survivors waste time healing instead of working on gens but hate it as survivor because I know my teammates are doing jack ######### genwise.

  • Tunneling is a viable strategy until survivors start to realize the game isn't fun when you're being targeted and move on to something better and you'll be twiddling your thumbs in the lobby thinking "Why are the queues so bad BHVR?!"

If you want the lifetime of this game to last longer you should be thinking about the fun of other people. I play fair because I like the game and want to be able to play it for many years to come.

  • Freddy isn't even bad. He was just annoying for survivors to deal with.

  • Head On is fine as is if the PTB changes go through. I'd say lower the exhaustion but it doesn't really matter that much since you only probably get one use of Head On per match.

  • You can still block the basement in the Thompson house so just put a heartlocket and wish that you get the map with the basement in the building

how can you tell that those are 4 solo survs and not like 2 + 2 or 3 + 1 or even a 4 guy swf?

That doesn't even matter tbh. We know it's not a 4 man swf since the Kate disconnected. The killer is the power role. This is what is supposed to happen when you're a good killer. Also we do not know the ranks of the survivors and considering rank reset was a week ago that could mean the game is anywhere from rank 10-1. Furthermore, this is not what every nurse game looks for Zubat. He also got lucky in finding survivors fast and since Bloodlodge has barely any line of sight blockers in the middle of the map the chases ended very quickly. If this was any other map the survivors could've hid better to avoid the nurse.

If anything the gameplay only shows how bad this map is against nurse.

  • Hmm... A killer main playing a good killer defeating 4 solo survivors where also one of them disconnects before even getting hit on a map with no line of sight blockers.

    You've convinced me.

  • Would be good if the bot just went on a gen and tried to hide from the killer if it heard the TR.

  • I would honestly be fine if they changed it so the key can never be in the last box if it also could never be in the first box. The point of the RBT is not to kill, it is to stall the game and getting the trap off in the first box takes all that away from the Pig.

  • @Kilmeran Yeah I do remember that as well.

@Jdsgames Sorry for being so hostile. Whenever this does happen to me, it always does a swing for me. I've never had it just completely cancel all actions so I can't confirm or deny anything :/

We tried that in the past an people hated it, so we opted not to this time around. More importantly, putting a message in game just tips even more people off to it and causes them to go out of their way to figure out how to do it.

@Peanits When are you guys gonna start disabling bugged items/perks/offerings/maps/etc... until the bugged thing in question is fixed?

  • @Jdsgames said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/584532#Comment_584532

@Peanits that isn't exactly true. I have had times were it would do the grab and just not do anything. If the grab was on the killer's side but not on the survivor's end it should at least determine that if the swing had occurred not the pull it would be an instant hit. I have had it where they just walk away from it uninjured. However, if you are pulled on the killer's side with latency the survivor didn't get off in time.

Dog, you can't say something isn't true when a community manager says it is. It is exactly latency. If the grab fails you instead hit and it may or may not hit the survivor. For the grab to be successful the survivor still has to be on the gen on their client when the grab occurs.

  • I literally love both of these! I hope they turn out well in game :)

  • Isn't it just latency? You go for the grab but the survivor reacts to it before you actually get the grab and their action of letting go of the generator overrides your grab.

  • @Peanits said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/582807#Comment_582807

Both. The anti-cheat catches as many as it can, and then we manually deal with the ones that get through. Reports help a great deal with the latter part.

@Peanits Is it enough to report in-game or is video proof needed to report cheaters?

  • @RoKrueger said:

If you don't want to get moried just do generators and escape ;-) or wait until you are the last survivor and escape

My goodness, what an idea? Why didn't I think of that?

Is there a more 4Head answer than this?

    Context, my friend.

I said CONSISTENTLY. If somebody shows up in a stream and occasionally has the right counter build, that can be written off as coincidence.

But if somebody ALWAYS has the right counter build and plays to annoy, that's pretty blatant.

Even with such "evidence" there will always be coincidences which lead to innocent people being banned. As a streamer, you can use different overlays while you're in a lobby so stream snipers will have a harder time getting in your lobby. You can also hide your steam name or the names of other people in your lobby.

  • They should stop appearing after you own the character. I haven't seen splinters for many months due to owning every killer. Sounds like a bug to me.

  • Still don't understand why they aren't just disabling the perk until the problem gets fixed.

  • @miaasma said:

it's a dumb term that killer players use when they feel entitled to easy wins

Do you think killers and survivors should be equal? Should 1 survivor be able to distract the killer for the whole duration of the match even if both players skill is equal?

  • I'd be fine if they added a couple more totems into the map in exchange for a counter. Would bring swf and solos closer together.

  • The only "useless" pallet is the basement of the Temple of Purgation.

@Peanits Wait so was it just a rumor the whole time when people said that Valve/Steam said no to Bill being on console?

@ProfoundEnding To my knowledge BHVR never said anything about Valve declining anything. I could be wrong though since I've only been playing since 2018.

  • @Apple2o said:

It never used to do that before the DS change? Once your obsession is dead the perk gets turned off if the obsession changes. If that is intended it's terrible.

Id say roughly a fourth of survivors above rank 10 run DS and in red / purple ranks it's not uncommon for 100% of survivors to be running it in my lobbies.

There is literally no reason to run this over another gen protecting perk that will guaranteed slow the progress down and not arbitrarily be turned off after the relatively lengthy prerequisite of finding and killing a specific survivor.

Why do you let them activate ds? It isn't hard to not pickup the same survivor thats just been hooked.

  • Honestly one of the most sensible people on the forums. Thanks for that.

  • @Peanits Do you guys know we can't see the "BHVR Read" tag unless we go to OP's profile and check which of their threads have been tagged as "BHVR Read".

Would be helpful if it showed it in the thread itself.

  • @NuclearBurrito That would be hilarious, someone at the start says something along the lines of "Later we'll have a big announcement..." but it is literally devs just talking about random stuff, maybe not even related to DbD. They could also throw in some bits of lore on "accident".

  • @rha said:

I find these comments quite interesting considering how much people are bitching about SWF (punish it or even remove it) and at the same time arguing that the game design should make solo play maximally unattractive and frustrating so that players are pushed into SWF.

I have currently quit playing survivor entirely exactly because of the perceived EGC unfairness. My teammates are too often potatoes and get wrecked in shortest time. Meanwhile the killer is as big a potato and couldn’t even hit me in multiple chases, but all he needs to do is to close the hatch and all of a sudden it doesn’t matter if he can’t hit me because he just needs to keep me from opening the doors which is often enough as easy as standing on a hill and watching both doors from there.

I am not complaining though, but willing to adapt. Adapting means in my case that if I decide to start again playing survivor, I will only do so in a 4SWF where I know everyone is about my level of ability, doing something useful at any time, everyone is willing and able to power through Ruin and won’t run around the map like a headless chicken to search for the totem, everyone recognises the killer perks in play and how to counter ...

This is a quite sad development. I used to love playing solo and didn’t mind getting matched with less experienced players as I could help them with my experience to live a bit longer, and in worst case I always had the hatch option. The unpredictability had some appeal, but that is gone now. I am now very picky about teammates. The current situation is only ok for me in an SWF scenario where I have control over my team („I explicitly chose to play with them, but we were not good enough“) or if the matchmaking was perfect at least 90% of the time (and „perfect“ means matching on skill, not rank). The latter is pure utopia so it‘ll be the former for me.

If your teammates supposedly are potato... Have you thought about trying to play for pips and rank up so you get matched with survivors equal to your skill level? You don't need to escape in order to pip.

  • @Peanits This has happened to my friend as well. We tried to reproduce it in kyf but the timing is just too strict. The skillcheck also has to be late so the pickup animation has enough time to finish. It doesn't make you completely immune but it does still give you one unavoidable ds (I'm pretty sure).

  • Not sure if it's the same on console as PC but make an ingame report and make a support ticket at https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

  • I don't even find it worth even doing the mori dailies. 60k bp is just one match on any killer. I could either just play whatever killer I want or do a daily on a killer and probably not have as much fun.

  • @NMCKE Base stalk time needed to expose a survivor is 5 seconds and leaning cuts that in half.

  • If you want to punish "genrush", use NOED. PGTW also got a buff and now lasts 60 seconds after hooking someone, you could try using that. Thrilling Tremors is also good as it tells exactly which gens are being worked on.

  • @sluc16 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/567367#Comment_567367

I don't think that not cleansing dull totems should be a punishable action, clearly gens have a higher priority over dull totems. But tks for the opinion.

@sluc16 It is that way of thinking that makes people complain about NOED. It is subjective for each player what is high priority and what is not. If there is a survivor on a hook and 1 gen to be done, some people think it's more important to finish the gen and risk the person dying on hook and other people think it's more important to save the hooked survivor.

  • Yeah, same, smh my head...

  • Only thing with current Freddy I dislike is that he relies too much on rng. Even if you put multiple survivors to sleep if they get lucky they can wake up really fast.

  • Moris as and offering shouldn't exist tbh (except Cypress and that should be built-in as well).

  • And half of the time a survivor disconnects during loading, causing you to wait another 10+ minutes for a potential match.

I've given up at this point. I can only play killer for a week after rank reset and it's honestly so ######### sad.
