Game bans need a rework
Currenly the ban system is: if you break a rule you are banned for 24h -> 48h -> 1w -> Permanent.
This seems reasonable, until you consider that recently, people are not getting banned for using the recent exploits.
The problem is that anyone could reasonably argue that they didn't realise that were performing an exploit. Many players are not using the forum and I would imagine that BHVR do not want to be banning too many players as that would hurt the game.
I think we need a non-incremental ban system, where more people can be temporarily banned for a minor offence like the sprint-burst exploit, the wake up exploit, the sloppy butcher exploit where we can have a ban that is only temporary and "not on their permanent record".
This would mean that BHVR can issue lots of bans for issues like this, but without the long-term damage that would negatively affect the player player base (i.e. their income).

I like the idea. People might finally stop exploiting. However they should put a notice out whenever these things get bugged.
Whenever the sloppy Wraith bug was out I exploited it without knowing it was an exploit.
I feel these are on different lvls. In this, im not comparing them to HOW gamebreaking they were, but simply what you did for it. Saying that a specific addon is MORE gamebreaking than a specific perk, so using that perk isnt THAT bad and shouldnt receive as bad of a punishment is cherry picking.
That being said, things like the current Sprint burst glitch actually requires you to do more than just equip the perk. Using sprint burst in itself is in no way punishable, whereas using the glitch in which you have to push certain buttons...should be.
Income/losing players is not a concern when it comes to bans. We are not worried about people who keep abusing exploits getting permanently banned; at that point, they have had many chances to change and refused. Each time they do something like that, they're making the game worse for people who are playing legitimately and driving them away. We'd rather get rid of the bad people and keep the good ones.
Ideally they should stop after the first one and realize, "Hey, maybe I shouldn't be doing that." If they still don't get it and decide to do it again, the ban gets longer specifically to discourage them from doing it again. Eventually it becomes permanent if they refuse to change. Giving them an endless number of chances and temporary bans would just make it safer for them to exploit, knowing that it will never become permanent.
Or they can implement a way to actually disable perks/items/offerings/addons that they break and prevent it from happening. They need a system in place to do this quickly, while informing why.
If there is no reluctance to issue a ban for a minor offence, then why are people not getting banned? Are people not reporting them? Did anyone ever get a ban for Wake-Up or Sprint Burst exploits? Will we at least get a notice on starting the game not to exploit Sprint Burst?
@TheBean - Yes I agree. We can live without Sprint Burst for a few weeks. I somehow managed to play without Wake-Up.
@GrootDude - I'm surprised you never saw the blood all over your trousers!
@TheBean While that would help alot, theres plenty of things that can be used normally WITHOUT exploiting. The current Sprint burst issue is an example of a perk that can be used 100% legit. Also, if you remember it use to be a problem that flashlight macros could crash games. The solution wasn't to get rid of flashlights.
@JawsIsTheNextKiller I thought it was a new feature at the time.๐
We tried that in the past and people hated it, so we opted not to this time around. More importantly, putting a message in game just tips even more people off to it and causes them to go out of their way to figure out how to do it.
They aren't getting banned because they're survivors. Killers were immediately banned for exploiting Legion.
@KaoMinerva good job LULs. Maybe that is what Peanits is referring to, that people hated it, so they opted not to this time around.
@Peanits When are you guys gonna start disabling bugged items/perks/offerings/maps/etc... until the bugged thing in question is fixed?
