if you don't think gen rushing is even a thing then you're pretty dense. Killers have been saying it for months that gens are done too fast, and I'm not arguing that solo gen using is the problem. It takes 80 seconds without skillchecks or toolboxes too complete one gen, that's literally the length of most chases. Then you add toolboxes and perks and it's just impossible some games too win no matter how good you do. You simply can't win a game that lasts 5-6 mins.

What I'm saying is that the title given 'Gen Rush' is a made up title to substitute the reason why gens are done too quickly. As a survivor right, it is their job to do gens as quickly as possible. It's their JOB. Cant have a go at them for doing their job if they did it well. The argument is that gen times go too fast. 80 seconds for 1 survivor to do a gen is a considerable amount of time if you are chasing others.

If it takes you 80 seconds to end one chase. There is something wrong. And if you know this is what's happening, then attack gens. Pressure to get them to waste time. Gen control perks are there to be used. Again, gen time nerfs were never said to be a thing.

Literally had rank 1-4s today as a Deathslinger. Managed to get 4k with about 3 gens lost. I'm 12 getting reds and purples in most games and I manage. Sure I sometimes get 2 or 3 but that's life. Just because you cant get 4k in some games doesn't mean it's not possible.

Again I play mostly killer but I know that if gen times get any longer, itll be a stand still. Consider forever Freddy. Oni, Nurse, Spirit, Billy, Doctor. Killers already able to snowball games (Which shouldnt be a thing). Get slower gen times, survivors just wont play. Then what. Itll be flipped. Killers have already gotten the loops cut, fine enough. Take any more away and the game will grind to a halt.

The game prioritizes the thing you're looking at. If you're trying to pick up the survivor, I would suggest facing away from the window. You can't vault it unless you're looking at the window.

Strange thing was, I was running towards the window straight forward while I looked to my side where the hooked survivor was and although I went towards the survivor it still locked to the window. Maybe it's a one off. I'll see about approaching from a different angle to see.

  • The only issue I have with this was that a survivor was hooked right beside a window, and it made me home to the vault 3 times as I was in a rush to pick them up. This is an issue as if a killer is close by, you lose that valuable time for that save :/

I had a Huntress in a previous match today that launched a Hatchet toward a unhooked survivor, which I attempted to block for her and the hatchet flew right by me and hit a nearby tree, but a second later the hit registered on me. It was a funny moment, and I just had to laugh because it seemed even the Huntress was shocked it actually hit me too.

Bruh, that reminds me of a game I had playing as Huntress. We were farming and this idle David was directly infront of this full health Jake. The hatchet went through the David, hit the Jake. I hit the David's foot, didnt hit. Hit his crotch, didnt hit. Hit his finger, it finally hits. Like #########. XD

  • Anyone want to share their ######### latency moments. Feel free.

  • It's funny. Cause now not only people are complaining that gen rush is an issue because the update 'Didnt nerf' it. When it was never said to. Not only that but they're now complaining saying 'Oh, survivors are just working on gens solo now' 🤣🤣🤣 like ######### is the argument here?

To me, doing gens is a survivors job. Hell gen rush isnt even a thing in my opinion. It's a survivors job to get gens done as quickly as possible. The only issue that made it as bad as it was is the map design... which they tackled.

Update has only been out a day. Next thing you know, the argument will be 'Oh, they should n ok t be able to do gens until 3 minutes has passed'. Like guys, I play killer, I play mostly killer. But this is just pathetic.

Ironworks didn't have any deadzone issues when I tried it on the PTB. Let us know if you encounter any on other maps. I noticed them on Autohaven maps especially on the PTB.

Yeah, Blood Lodge still had that chunk of a dead zone. I spotted 1 pallet amidst all the barrell stacks. I'm all up for killer, mostly play them. But this is going from one unbalanced to another. Survivor to killer. We need an inbetween.

They are not compariable, you're right.

You only get a Mori from the blood web, it's used only once, and requires a balanced objective before being able to use it.

Key's you can get for free during a match. You can keep it at the end of a match even if you don't use it. You can use add ons and offerings to keep it longer. Using it not only gives you a free win, but anyone else nearby or finds the free win mechanic before the Killer.

The only counter to it is to tunnel/camp the person with the Key and the Key when it's on the ground. While the only way to counter a Mori is by playing the game properly.

Now that's explained, wanna know why we have Key's?

The Hatch Mechanic wasn't in the original game, the hatch mechanic was only brought to the game because BHVR had a problem with players (Survivors) taking the game hostage by hiding during the end of the match instead of doing gen's. BHVR responded to the players literally exploiting a game mechanic, by rewarding them a mechanic that would grant them a free win for being the last survivor. Then after that - for fun - they've added Key's and the all escape achievement. Then followed by trying to balance both the hatch, and key's for years. To honestly no avail, because it's an entirely broken mechanic in the first place, that was a poor decision to implement in the first place.

Now that's explained, wanna know why we have Mori's?

Because BHVR wanted Killer's to have a cool, and unique killing animation - so they've added Mori's. Being as overpowered as they were. They had to change them to require at least one hook before you can use it, which makes sense from a balancing stand point as most survivors that are good at the game wouldn't get hooked once, let alone get caught twice. However this does make issues for when Killer's use Mori's against players that are not yet good at the game, so I could see balancing for Mori's be revisited in the future.

As you can see. Key's are vastly more over powered than Mori's, but yes they shouldn't be compared. I think because they were put in the game for two totally different reasons.

Although I dont agree on your standpoint on this issue as it just feels you've only really considered killers feelings in this matter. I am a killer player myself but I feel that alot of the issue in this game is that I feel the game still has elements based off old generation and that these mori's, keys, killers, perks have not been redesigned to bring a balanced play in today's generation. They all have their overpreforming or underperforming attributes but I feel these need adjusting to cater to all players, long standing and new (in today's game standard).

"While the only way to counter a Mori is by playing the game properly."

😂😂😂 There is no counter to a mori. You are designed to get caught if you are chased. And you will get tunneled if you are hooked. But nice try.

Also, don't be cheeky. A killer has to do 30% of his actual job in a match if he brings a mori. Survivors have to do 1 more gen than the number of people on the map. Which means at 4 people, survivors have to do 100% of their job. At 3 people, they have to do 80%. At 2 people, they have to do 60% and the last guy can finally have some reprieve because it isn't meant to be a 1v1 game, and he is disadvantaged terribly at this point (hence why the hatch was actually introduced).

A mori can be used in the first minutes of the game, immediately shifting the balance in the killer's favor. A key cannot be used until significant end game, if at all. And key escapes happen significantly less frequently than moris because its very obvious moris are more OP. You are bananas.

Unfortunately, you are arguing with a killer blinded person. Honestly both are really strong in their own ways and although I find it annoying when I do a good job as killer, i close hatch only for someone to use a key after. At that stage, its 50/50. Either you get 4k or you get 3k. Tbf the gates more often than not are really close to make escaping pointless. So why not have them use 7000 point item to escape getting a few hundred for hatch. Again 1 gen needs to be left if all 4 want to leave and unless you're a team, its gonna be hard getting everyone to come together.

Mori, I only use it if I know its 4swf. I wouldnt otherwise and even then, unless they are sweaty asf, I'm gonna hook twice before mori. The most I've ever had in one game is 2 keys (very rare). Its rare I even get 1 but I feel you couldnt compare them in certain ways.

  • @Quol said:

Killers objective is to sacrifice survivors, not kill them. The game punishes you if you mori survivors compared to hooking them. An easy way for you to understand it would be like me saying "The objective of survivors is to escape not do gens."

Also personal experience while interesting is not a good argument I had 2 matches today where people escaped via hatch mid game.

Both keys and mori can help end the game quickly, both can be used mid game and both need some effort put in to work and when you look at overall matches both are used fairly infrequently.

The only issue with that is unless there is somebody dead (which chances are if a killer sees a key, they'll be the 1st to die) the hatch wont spawn until there is 1 gen left. 2 gens if theres 3 survivors, 3 gens if 2 survivors or less. So unless mid game you mean there is at least 1 or 2 people dead already.

I'm in red survivor and even though I'm a green killer, the servers permit reds on me. I see ebony Mori's as survivor if the killer thinks you're a 4 SWF. Which is more often than not tbh seeing as how every killer now days thinks 'oh no, a 4 man. They all have items' or some stupid.

As killer, I usually only ever get 1 key per game every once a while unless found (which is rare in game unless wasting perks to increase chances). Even more rare to get 2 keys in one game. I never use Ebony Mori, only Green and yell pi w mori. Cause it just kills the fun on me. And even if I do use Ebony, it's only when I know its 4 SWF either by same name sequence, all same costume. And even then, unless they're sweaty asf, I'm gonna try hook twice before I mori.

The argument with mori being 2 hooks is by then, what's the point mori-ing. For the sake of a few seconds hooking, you're just losing points.

Billy gets looped like any other Killer, his power is based on mobility. If you run short loops, he will never chainsaw you unless he's highly skilled

He can just m1 chase till he's touching you then chainsaw, he even has addons to make his turn better. This is the basic billy when playing maps like 'the game' or 'hospital.' Sure his play style has to change but he is still 4.6 in speed. Has very little miss or collision punishment. Chainsaw is pretty quick. Combine with hitbox and latency too, he makes for a devastating killer to face much like Oni except Oni can track for free. The fact Billy can snowball too (which I dont think any killer really should be able to) I think you're underestimating Billy.

And yes every killer can get looped to a degree, others like Huntress, Sherrif Woody, Spirit, Nurse, Billy, Oni, Doctor, Freddy, heck even Trapper to a degree, they can massively cut loops down to a controllable state with the map control capabilities they have.

  • Dude, that's just poor matchmaking. Yeah, I feel sorry for you having to face that. Hell I'm 12-13 and still get that. But that's just the bad matchmaking. I dont think you could apply that argument here as it is a technical issue not by design.

Not hard honestly, I can clap red ranks survivors as a green/purple rank billy. Most survivors arent good at all in red ranks

Unfortunately you're talking to a guy that's completely killer blindsided xD I played up to rank 5 and was pretty much just getting reds. It's frustrating asf, this is true but I have to say it's not as bad as people claim it to be. Yes, they can loop, I just walk away to cut someone else off and it usually works. I figure out a map side I want controlled at the beginning.

The only killer complaints out now is 'God loops' which they're being fixed (to how much while still giving survivors a decent chance, we'll find out). Second chance perks I.e DS (easily beatable), Adrenaline (have to live long enough to use it), Unbreakable (works once, and if you dont slug or get slug greedy, useless). BT (wait the fifteen seconds, if you want to tunnel. But dont complain of DS and Unbreakable, you chose to tunnel).

Between easy snowballers like Oni, Billy, Nurse and Spirit. Which I dont think any killer should be able to snowball. Killers are starting to rise up. Fine enough. But in doing so, survivors are now being punished. These new gen works clearly didnt consider Forever Freddy or Doctor or Snowballers. The map reworks, my bro and his friends said most of the games they come across solo and with friends, 80% were survivors quitting or giving up first hook cause the loops were just I'll considered and bad or killers bringing Ebony mori's, face camping hitting bodies, tunneling.

But hey, the game is becoming killer sided, hopefully to an extent that both sides are balanced. Killers need dominance, but without taking away the ability to survive. I dont agree being either sided, I just want this game to reach a standard for both where all ranks and skill gaps are considered.

Well thank you for a respectful reply for one.

Honestly my main point is that most of the time it's our own team that screws us over as survivor, why should the killer be punished for taking advantage of that? And yeah for newer players they can be confused but that's part of learning the game don't you think? Learning when to go for saves and when to leave them. If you remove the "learning curve" of the game, you'll be left with a game that holds your hand the whole time.

Camping and Tunneling do indeed "ruin" the experience of the survivor. But only if you judge your experience by how long you last in the match or if you escape or not. I hate it when I get camped or tunneled, but they are indeed legitimate strategies. It's the killers job to hunt us down and kill us by whatever means necessary.

I don't think you're entitled for your viewpoint, as you've obviously thought about both sides of the argument. I think the problem is when we as survivors start to blame the killer for our teams mistakes and playing how they're supposed to. And unless BHVR changes how the game is played, camping will always be a strategy people use.

You make a great point and honestly. If it wasnt literally face camping nodding up and down repeatedly hitting your body for the sake of doing your job. I could agree at least proxy camping is a strategy for sure. But I tried experimenting by spending a few games being a dickhead to see how it feels I.e pretending to farm then kill all 4, face camp and hit bodies, aggressively tunnel with not BT or DS. It really is boring as heck, to me anyways, but most of all it's free.

I dont mind if a killer stays within a 20 metre radius as they're still close enough to knock you down soon after but I dont believe it is fun for anyone who has to suffer through their time being chased for 30 seconds only to then just sit there on hook getting nothing as a reward whereas a killer can just stand there and profit. Both are boring but only 1 is rewarded. And I play more killer and I'm 10 now usually getting reds and purples. It's hard and I dont always get 4 but I feel more challenged and happy with myself than just sitting at a hook all game XD.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/145135/something-could-be-fixed-but-never-will

Okay, with all due respect, here's my own view on it.

#1 - Camping MIGHT get you a safety pip. It's just "stupid" survivors who go for those saves and blame killer for taking advantage of it.

#2 - If you or a team mate is being camped, why are you not on gens? 1 person per gen means 3 gens in 80 seconds, that can be a win easy.

#3 - It happens far less often than people think. I say this because yeah if you're dumb enough to unhook someone within close proximity to the killer you deserve to be punished for that. The killer can't guard gens AND hooks at the same time. Do your objective.

#4 - Camping is easily punished. Yeah it's not fun being camped, but if you're not thinking of just yourself you'll realize that the longer you keep yourself on hook, the easier it will be for your TEAM to escape.

#5 - All of the above is the biggest problem with asymmetrical pvp games. There will NEVER be any form of balance that everyone agrees on. There will always be people who say "This is OP, NERF" "Punish x because y".

I'm just gonna try and enjoy the game while it's still alive.

I feel like you didnt read the whole post. As I said, I was on gens got 3 done but I had one of the randoms farm everyone off the hook without BT which screwed us all. And by the end of it, when I was last one alive after cleansing what totems I could find and doing gens. I got NOED downed with two gates beside eachother where there is literally nothing I could do. Yes, it's all well and good saying that killers get rewarded if survivors are stupid enough but just consider the less experienced or new survivors to the game that have no idea about what to do in that situation either than 'Oh I have to rescue my teammate'. Not everyone will know to just walk away from it.

My point was I don’t see a reason to complain about something then state you do it even if it’s for strategic purposes. I realize that helps at end game and your free to do as you please but ppl will complain about being slugged at all and trust me I’ve seen how camping can be strategic in games as my teammates almost throw themselves at a killer as they camp until I’m the last one standing. So until survivors simply stop tryin to save when someone is camping then that’s also a strategy to use not a very good one in my opinion and camping I would assume has to be boring from a killers side but it does work. I don’t camp because I like the chase staying busy and usually have to many drinks in me to want to just watch someone on a hook.

I get your point. It's a fair point. This is less about the slugging and more about the camping. Mine was more based on it was just face camp right from the start. Nobody attempted to save in the first 20 seconds. My main issue was a random who doesn't have BT goes up and attempts the save. Like I knew there was no point, but yi still get punished as the game goes by quicker rather than just leaving the guy on hook. In the end I as the only one doing gens couldnt even get out. Cause two gates were beside eachother. I just feel there needs to be an address to somebody just farming off a hook and the killer just being able to camp. I'm just saying, I hate freebies in games. A killer camping is 2 kills guaranteed at least.

If someone camps me I just hang on the hook I’ve even messaged random ppl as I play solo 99% of the time when I’m bein camped on first hook telling them just do gens killer is camping I’ll hang on as long as I can. Then maybe they can get everything done so the killer only gets one kill. If ppl want to camp it don’t bother me I don’t personally camp or slug and don’t understand how someone can complain about camping then also say slugging takes away fun but oh btw I slug when two are left for my 4K. That’s still slugging so I guess camping when only two ppl are left would also be ok for you if the killer is doin it for their 4K and some campers still get 4ks so maybe they camp hoping crappy survivors will give them a 4K for it so guess that should be ok with you as well. Saying your not greedy but I slug for my 4K makes very little sense.

Perhaps I should have phrased it better. I usually slug for the 4th if I know the they are nearby. If I dont think they are, I then hook with BBQ or I'm doc and just shock. I dont keep them on the ground for 5 minutes if that's what it seemed. Slugging is only acceptable from strategic advantage. I try not leave any person down for longer than 30 seconds in case they're healed or they get up.

  • @CosmicParagon said:

Campers are only rewarded if the Survivors reward them. Do the gens and stop giving them free kills.

Somebody clearly didnt read the post xD dude, read the post then post a comment. Then you'll get the full picture.

  • @Bovinity said:

It's funny, people complain if a killer camps a hook, and people complain if a killer slugs.

At the same time, if I just hook someone and walk away, all I did most of the time was give them a free health state because you know there's someone five meters away just waiting.

At some point I have to change my strategy if survivors are gonna rush every hook. But then they whine that I was "toxic". I don't know what the answer is, but meh. You can't have it both ways.

Funny thing about that is, if a survivor is immediately hanging around for that save. That's 1 guaranteed person not doing a gen for however long it takes for you to leave, full health or not. Which means if he wants to waste time waiting instead of stretching a hook for as long as they can to ensure progress. That's on them. Smart survivors wont immediately go for save because they want to pressure elsewhere while still giving incentive to go back to hook.

In regards to slugging, it's just not a fun play when a game is snowballed. In my opinion no game show be able to be snowballed. Just kills the idea of the game. No chase, no excitement. Having one slugged or two if you know others are nearby but that's your risk cause that's what unbreakable is for. I dont get greedy so unbreakable is only ever used on me when theres two and I slug for 4k. But I find them again very quickly so it's useless. Which if survivors want to waste perk slots on perks that they might not get to use I.e DS, Unbreakable. Then that's 2 perks wasted. If they do, I usually get them done early so I dont get screwed exit gate stage. But no, it's not whining. Its stating points that clearly need addressing.

  • @cipherbay_ said:

For the most part nearly everyone knows the game has been survivor sided, only ones i can say that disagree are the ones that only play survivor or play Iri Huntress every match to try and prove a point. Needless to say, killers have had the short end of stick since day one with how fast gens could be done, im not even sure how killers were able to get a 4k with the amount of god and infinite loops that were in the game, not to mention default fast vaults, non cooldown exhaustion, vacuum pallets, the list could go on. Now we are at a stage where the Devs are balancing the game by resizing maps and reworking items. How will this fair for veteran players and new players. Well.... Veteran players will dominate massively and 4k nearly every match because of their experience, its like giving someone who rides a Unicycle a bicycle. They have already seen the bad and the ugly, any further changes is just good or fair.

As for newer killers, they wont know the struggles it use to be, as for new survivors, they wont know what god loops or infinites are so they will learn with what they have. Veteran survivors who depended on such windows are going to be hurting because they have to adjust the most, those are the ones who you will most likely see in the threads posting "THIS GAME HAS GONE COMPLETELY KILLER SIDED REEEEE!!! I QUIT!! GIVE ME REFUND!"

    Cheers to the changes.

    #ClownBuff2020

And that is the issue that the devs dont see. Killers that play the likes of Oni, Spirit, Billy, Nurse that could snowball games before are going to have a field day on new maps. For sure it depends on player skill but if you were getting 3-4k every game with the struggle. Now itll be a breeze. Now also consider ranking right now. I am an 8 survivor that got two 16s and 20 survivor with a 5 killer. How is that fair for anyone. For me it's one thing but if my team isnt capable of holding off a 5 killer, it drags the whole team down including me.

On the killer side, I'm a 12 killer getting reds and purples most games. Other times the 15-20s I'm just an average so chances are I'll still have a hard time or they'll have a really hard time. Sure maps are now made easier but if there is a will theres a way for survivors to make bits of new design.

I feel that although these designs were long time coming and needed. I just hope they consider all factors and not just red rank when implementing.

No way in hell I want something like this, that's not the point of this thread. This isn't Blizzard where they make Overwatch 2 for no reason and then make people pay for it.

I'm just curious how it would look like? What would it include? New killers and survivors? A better character unlocking system? Blood market from Dead by Daylight mobile, perhaps?

Itd pretty much just be what Overwatch 2 is really no matter how you look at it. Dead By Daylight is one of those games you cant have a sequel to. Much like For Honour. You could imagine the most there will be is updated features, different lobby screen. What killers could you include that for some reason you couldnt put in the first. Itll honestly just be the same garbage that the first has and then some. Right now they come out on mobile. Which it's probably the only platform the game can actually play as intended. PC and console are a mess that will never be fixed at this point. No matter how many they fix, for every 1 comes 2 more. Imagine that on DBD2, because it's new, they'll try experimenting on new engines for it, heck they're 'secretly' doing it already with this one. If they made a DBD2, its be what Fallout 76 was on first day. A 75gb update after you've played the game for an hour.

  • @KingFrost said:

I think that on your first hook, if there are no survivors in a 12M Radius, and the killer IS, the hook timer should be paused. This would be disabled if all Gens are complete. I think that'd be completely fair.

Nice idea but easily could be taken advantage of though. Game could be held hostage if gens are never done. And say the hook is in proximity to a totem or gen. The survivors timer will go down and the killer could realise someone is close. I understand it's taking Steve's perk to the extreme but I dont think it will work as intended.

Now granted the killer may get that 1 kill potentially if they're dedicated even after exit stage starts but for that survivor hooked. Unless you give a score reward for being camped, they're not gaining anything for all this time. Unless you give them a "Hang in there score" for hanging there 🤣.

  • Long text alert!!!

I've found myself playing less and less of this cause of the troubles. Both survivor and killer I'll probably play 2 or 3 games. 1 if it is just stupidly toxic. Then I wont play for another 2 or 3 days.

What is considered toxic playing survivor: To me if I loop a killer around for a minute or two (without strong god loops) cause they made poor decisions and I capitalise. The last thing I want is to get camped and tunnelled cause I did my job. DS does nothing as they just slug and walk off looking for others. Got borrowed of hook and killer literally waited 20 seconds on me just to snack down. Like i get it, killer needs kills, survivors must survive. But these mechanics of certain spots make this bad play easy for killer is bad. Brings no fun or enjoyment. Nodding when they have hooked you or hitting you on hook because you have looped them because of their fault. Then they text afterwards saying sweaty toxic swf pressing 1 button on strong loops when I'm solo. 🤣

Playing killer: I'll chew through BT and DS if I need to, best get them out early rather get screwed gate stage. Sometimes I'll slug knowing two others are nearby to bait and if unbreakable is used, I'm nearby for it to not matter anyway. I only tunnel if unhooked right in front of me but I wont hook to give a fair ######### at them getting to do something. I try play as fair as possible, no NOED, Rancor, ebony mori. Like I hate using mori's. It's boring for me. But all I get is gg ez, teabags for missing or pallated and bagged. Survivors spinning like a spastic in one spot. I even had an object of obsession bag me through aura reading 🤣

So yeah, this game died long ago. Giving nerds and buffs to things not needed. Bad mechanics, bad glitches. And the community if all is just toxic. I tried farming several games for experiment and all they did was teabags and try farm me. I've then faced killers that pretend to farm all game as the likes of bubba and then when gates are up he'll then knock you down then find out he has blood warden, noed, rancor. Its scummy. I regretted buying Woody(Deathslinger), Plague, Oni, Legion. Even though I play them. I'm not wasting anything on this game anymore.

Ok I’ll start by saying I play both sides so I can sort of see what both find annoying as I’ve been on the receiving end on both sides. From my perspective the next update isn’t a “Survivor nerf” I think it more of a fix. The only real nerf to survivors would be the slight coop repair speed reduction that’s it. The infinite loops and some large maps being reduced in size are just fixes to obvious design flaws. You will still be able to loop the killer for all 5 gens like before the only difference is the killer will have a chance of catching you. Unlike the infinite loops we have now where if you get to them the killer has no other choice than to drop the chase. The map reduction is just so the killer has a chance to patrol the gens before 1 pops just seconds into the game. Now I’ll ask a question do you genuinely believe fixing infinite loops is a bad thing? Do you really think the devs are “Killer sided” for doing this?

Yes they are strong and sometimes forced people to leave chase. It's a good idea to fix these, it just depends on how they're implemented. Instead now it looks like you'll get two good vaults on a strong window but no more than that (which is good, offers variation to using other loops instead of over using same). Issue is there is a door fairly close to these windows now which asks the question, how good is this window in general to feel like you should use it? Lithe will now be used to get a 3rd use on a window but that's it. In regards to coop gen speeds. The whole point of this game was teamwork, do gens, heals together. Instead of fixing overall gen speed they just slapped a punish on teamwork. As a killer these loops will benefit many. Killers like Oni, Woody (Deathslinger), Spirit, Billy, Freddy; they will annihilate if you are a good killer. Now imagine Thanat Freddy with Swing chains, green rope, Dying Light, Pop and BBQ along with these new gen times. They'll just give up trying.

ruin was never hard to hit in my opinion, insta heals already got nerfed, gen rushing wouldn't be a thing if people knew how to patrol gens and infinites aren't a problem if you just leave the survivor and look for someone else

Though I agree on leaving survivors on strong loops instead of crying afterwards saying you couldnt get them after a 5 minute chase. The issue was early gen progression. On big maps like corn, Macmillan. By the time you surveyed the map before you find first survivor, a gen pops with no control over it. Ruin was to cater for new survivors to middle experienced survivors that cant hit greats but screwed ALL killers. Pop Weasel is your next strong carry to go to now.

  • @CJ46 said:

Why do survivors keep getting nerfed and killers are saying things like "try play against red ranks" i may only be a rank 9 killer but i've played against full lobby of red rank survivors countless times, most of the times sfw, and i never get less then a 2k, usually a 3k with the 4th person getting hatch, like seriously hitboxes are broke af and people get hit across the map and you're removing good loops ? i don't get what the devs are doing, stop saying this new update will "balance the game" because in reality killers are too OP as it is especially with specific builds. what killers are OP ? I'll tell you, doctor, freddy, myers (with infinite tier 3 or insta mori) and specific builds they can be even better, even deathslinger is up for debate because of hitboxes. :D i can hear the killer mains typing already

I feel you. This game is turning from survivor sided to killer sided with nothing being balanced for both. 1 thing I'll say is Michael isnt broke at all. Even with infinite 3 or insta mori cause both take a long time to get there. Not only do they sacrifice gen time but points too as they get nothing for an instant kill. Oni, Billy, Spirit, Nurse, Doc and Woody (Gunslinger), All lethal and impossible to deal with. Freddy just has speed and lunge. His pallets and puddle arent that bad, Swing Chain combo though makes him stronger. I play Freddy and Doc, Woody and Oni and if you have specific builds you are a god. I'm green getting reds and purples and I haven't played Woody or Oni for very long and I'm a god.

This combined with the hit boxes, latency issues, its alot on the killer side. Granted grab animations are broke, nurses blinks are glitched. They are considering cross platform when their current platforms are fundamentally broken and messed up, they need these issues fixed. Not only will they need to change map sizes but certain perks to cater for the new distancing I.e Sole Survivor, Object of Obsession etc. But instead of fixing gen times overall, they're discouraging group genning which is the point of the game. Work in teams, do things together, not feel punished for doing so. Ruin was a hard blow but was only thing stopping early game pops.

All I do is 3 gen Trapper with Corrupt Intervention, Surge, Pop goes the Weasel and Save the Best for last.

Use add ons to increase the amount of traps you can carry.

Watch as they fail to get the last gen.

    Thumbs up of Approval! 👍

  • We just had a new experimenter, let's see what he had to say: " So killer shack had a gen in it, right beside exit gate. I trapped all around it and I got all 4 down. Totally funny cause they were sabotaging hooks when I wasnt trying to hook. Talk about karma".

He won a $20 gift certificate to Stobey's. He can use that to get a basket of dunkers, or any sized soft drink.

  • @FlintBeastgood said:

I only play to have fun, lol. I don't take this game seriously in the slightest, with it's weird ranking and matchmaking, and contiually debated balance.

Trapper is all I played pretty much when I started out, and even now I have put less time into all the other killers combined. Random traps are too amusing to me. Chasing players right into them is priceless. Exit vicinity traps are golden. I'm also a fan of Hag for the same reason.

Generally, when I play as killer getting kills is just a side mission. Killed a toxic 2xSWF by chance earlier after they 3 gen'd themselves while I was messing around jump scaring two other players. That was with Pig, who I also like for the laughs... sitting in the corn growling, haha.

    Thumbs Up of Approval! 👍

  • @Freki said:

yes after 4 hours we have ptb results in a hand full of people have the pulse of the game 100% correct in a very short time. gotta love it... give it time to work and people to get used to the new stuff and then talk to us.

I said I dont have all details, this is what it's like in the first 4 hours which isnt a good sign. Stop assuming this is a full detailed analysis, never said it was xD

  • @Nameless said:

I like running Windows once in a while because it tells me which pallets are used and which ones aren't without me needing to actually check so it saves me time and effort lmao. A buff is always appreciated though, it's not like it's an insanely overpowered perk.

The only windows getting a door beside them are the busted ones so Lithe really won't be affected that much, unless you genuinely just used Lithe to run the busted windows. I can see it being used a lot more strategically on certain maps when tiles and jungle gyms aren't just mindlessly placed next to each other and help you close the gap to the next jungle gym. I'm certainly going to give it a try in the PTB and who knows I might even run it all the time from now on seeing how Dead Hard sometimes gets me killed anyways. We'll see though.

Without a doubt, Lithe would still be good. It's just the typical, here is what the new set of frequently used perks are. Instead of making it that all perks are viable for a particular play style, half the roster just isnt used. Whens the last time someone ran Sole Survivor, Buckle Up, Streetwise or whatever. Sure with new rework, the odd Streetwise but should people have to use a perk to make something reliable? Now what 'God loops' are now is probably two uses if lucky and that's fine, forces variation and effort but other spots will just have really sketchy placements. We will have to see in the PTB just how viable these new designs are and if they are unbalanced for either side. Honestly, I feel like it's going to turn from a survivor biased game to killer biased which isnt going to be good either. 🤔

  • @Katie28 said:

What about bbq and chilli on smaller maps?

Make Your Choice, Devour Hope, BBQ, Object of Obsession, Sole Survivor, any distance related perks will need to be considered no matter how often they're used. Sure some of these seem fine as it is buts just to analyse just how these are going to play for both sides in the long run.

  • @Rezblaze said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/142238/new-map-design-vs-now-useless-perks

You're acting like this patch made those perks not viable.

Besides Bamboozle, none of those perks we're viable.

The point I was making was that although the were hardly used before, now they are just forgotten. I want all perks in this game to be viable for use. Just highlighting that there are a number of perks they will have to rework to cater for the new designs

And the infinite blindness or the complete disabeling of nurses blink ability. xD

Fun and fun and even more fun!

Well, just a little bit longer and they'll have The Candyman as a new killer by the hint of things. And 100 more fun bugs for us to test for them. God help us all xD

  • @MigrantTheGreat said:

Nurse is the biggest victim to these bugs, because half the time her bugs won't let her blink. I've called the devs out so many times about bugs, that it's become clear to me that they don't care bugs the affect killers in a negative way, and they don't care about survivor bugs that can be fixed by restarting the game.

Recently I got perma blinded, and the only possible way to undo the bug is to either down and pick up the survivor that blinded you, or get blinded again and hope that it undos the bug.

I had that same issue minus completely blind. They flashed me so much then after I hit them, my screen stayed at that current flash. Didnt want to chance getting blinded in case it stayed that way. Their only focus is content. We are the test gamers that actually pay them dlc wise to test their game. Cause honestly, how could they miss these.

Yep, especially the infinite glitches are annoying as hell.

Remember the infinite locker stun glitch. Every time you walked by a locker xD that was this game.

I'm pretty sure they removed the hatch grab back when EGC was rolled out.

Oh for sure. But combine that with not being able to close hatch. It's just basically what it was before. A free giveaway. Funny thing was by the time I hit her, she just crawled to the tip of it. And it couldnt register the pick up action cause it was trying to close 🤣 it's so stupid. I get it, games have bugs. But how skill checks from your previous game staying on screen, no HUD, combined with latency and they seem proud to bring it out on mobile xD my friend could only play it for an hour before 100% battery turned to 2% 😅 They keep trying to broaden horizons when the previous ones have so many issues. Like, crossplay shouldnt be a thing right now especially when the latency, hitbox and bugs are terrible. But hey $$$ am I right.

  • @NursesBootie said:

I'm playing a lot of nurse. I feel you dude. My blinks don't work so damn often.

If they tested her instead of having the public test her, that wouldnt be an issue. They seem like they did the "here's her changes, we think it works. Try her for us". Issue is this hatch close cancel glitch could potentially be for all killers. Likewise for the survivor no HUD or infinite skill check glitch.

  • @Mistikus said:

you should put this in bug report, so they can try to fix it

The amount of bugs me and my friends have sent them and none are either fixed or working properly. Honestly given up trying. That's how little I think of this game which saddens me 😅 like my brother is a freshman programmer and he can do a better job, some are easy. Like the skill check carrying into next game. That's just a reset and refresh like code issue. It shouldnt even be a problem to solve.

Could've dodged? Don't survivors hate that?

And as for playing, how is he supposed to know if you are going to be toxic or not? Granted he had to reason to be toxic at the end as you weren't being toxic yourselves from the sounds of the post, but what did you expect?

As for the Doctor being toxic, the only toxic part of him really, was the end where he called you for being toxic, which you were not. The addons, Mori, and perk really don't change that fact much, as people use various addons perks and offerings without even being close to toxic. He just preparing for the possibility of a toxic match, so that's kind of on you there.

Could have farmed, could have stood still? What happened to playing the game?

No, he can't complain about about you being toxic, however you can't complain, about him not for not playing along and farming with you. It's the game, just play it as it was meant to be played.

Now you sir have made a fair impartial like view... something these other two guys fail to understand xD it is a fair point, however, this game is intended to play as toxic as possible. Thus NOED challenge, Rancor challenge, hook all 4 in basement. This game feeds off toxicity. All my friends and I were trying to do was bring a bit of fun and laugh back... which unfortunately nobody likes cause again, toxic. If they killed us normally it would have been fine. The fact this guy funneled, camped and mori guys that gave themselves to him. How more toxic could you be you know. :/ it's a shame this whole game has been consumed by what is now either 'killer main or survivor main'. Very few are left to give impartial and considerate views from both perspectives.

Dude you made this post bragging how terrible you were trolling and upsetting human beings on the other side of that screen buckaroo. Real people.

Like you walked up to an animal shelter and struck up a convo about how much you like kicking puppies.

I dunno if you thought everyone would laugh with you or your trying to argue enough to justify what you did but you really should apologize to the doctor player

I'm sorry, is this a DBD discussion or an animal abuse discussion? XD cause seriously, you are way off topic here. Let's stick to the topic at hand which is what you and some other seem sore over. Doc decided to play us, didnt have to. He was super toxic about it. I'm not expecting pity or sympathy or anything. My point which I'll explain yet again was that we went in to have fun. If the killer seen 4 of the same and didnt like it, then they should have left. I hope this makes it clear enough for you to understand now.

And some people don't want to go against a fully stacked ultra sweaty killer. Just because you don't want to go against it doesn't mean that it isn't going to happen.

And yeah, real smart telling him to go outside and do something with his friends during this time where everybody's getting the flu.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1193042#Comment_1193042

I don't exactly think I'd be happy wasting all of my add ons and offerings and stuff on games like that, but don't listen to these guys. It's not harassment and it's definitely not toxic to let the killer hit you. Literally making his job easy and complaining is nothing to be salty about. And people who call that stuff harassment, you're right. They're too sensitive. It's not like you could have predicted from the lobby coordinating your Dwight squad that he was going to be a sweaty Doc anyway. So that eliminates the possibility of it being targeted harassment, at that.

Honestly, we just messed around, no items. No offerings except bloody party, didnt do a gen and we uncooked right in front of him. If he didnt want to face us, then dodge like. Killer lobbies now days are not hard to find. They dont seem to get my point that the doc willingly went in to this game with the intent to not have fun and to be as toxic as possible. Thus Irredescent addons, Ebony, NOED. These guys... they just dont see that, it's hilarious xD

  • @Swiftblade131 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1193061#Comment_1193061

I did misread, my bad. But my point will still stand.

What does this do for the killer exactly?

Didnt have to play that game, could have dodged. Which is my point. If you see this then you either dodge looking for a different lobby or you play, and go through what you've decided to do. In this case, doctor took a toxic root. Could have farmed, could have stood still. But if he chose to play, they cant complain for getting a toxic game if he walked into it. And it wasnt toxic, we walked up to him xD

  • @emptyCups said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1193058#Comment_1193058

Oh so you messaged him beforehand and he agreed to have a terrible match ?

Or are you punishing him because he's not telepathic ?

Do you automatically assume that if all 4 people wearing the same costume and bo items in your lobby are 1: A 4 man team, 2: Going to be super toxic. And considering these two do you decide, and keep this in mind, easy question which is my point. Do you say 'yeah, I'll play this game willingly' or do you dodge? My point is, he went in willingly. Nobody forced him to play us. He could have dodged and got a proper game. But no... he decided, yeah, I'll play this game willingly. Why is nobody understanding this xD I've repeated myself several times now. It feels like it's going over heads xD like try consider it from both sides here. Not just killer side. We need open impartialism in here.

You contributed to the toxicity by trolling. And, you missed my point and dont see the bigger picture. How is someone just trying to play the game as intended, toxic? U sure its not the 4 trolls forcing a complete stranger to conform to their shenanigans?? Like....

Its not about being "sensitive" its more like "i dont have time for this BS and/or dont want to play along in an awkward match of randoms" , do you know how long those stupid matches last? Because of my generosity i play along ultimately to get nothing out of it in the end..at least send them a friend request or something; or just understand not everyone likes that BS and just wants to play. Maybe the next person will be you guys stooge.

And yea, its considered harrassment/pester, google it.

You fail to understand that the killer did not not have to go into that game. Could have left to find another. That seems to be what people are failing to see. We didnt "Make" him take any action. Was all his own choice to go into that game, do what he did. My point is if you go into that type of game then it's to have fun. You dont just think, oh 4 man same character no items. I'm gonna bring an Ebony and NOED to show them how I contribute to that fun.
