"Crotch purks" this had me LMAO! That's just asking to be memed.
-
I'd be happy if they just increased Prestige to 5 and gave us a full bloody outfit for P4 + P5.
All the separate pieces would be nice but I'd settle for just the full costume without the ability to break it down into its constituent parts.
Eg. Nea P4 = Bloody 'Tomboy Trends' outfit. Nea P5 = Bloody 'Street Rebel' Outfit.
-
Prestige 4/5/6 should be blood wraps (body/legs/head). Of course, all cosmetics will need to be changed to accomodate the blood layer. Dunno how likely that is.
EDIT: I'm thinking this will be more work than they want to commit to since they would need to do a bloody version of each outfit that is different in design to the character's original outfit (eg. you can't put the blood wrap from Meg's trousers onto her skirt). If they had done this from the start then they could've just done a bloody variant of each new cosmetic when released.

Yeah, this seems to be a pretty big issue, and having played mostly survivor since my return I hadn't really encountered to much of it from the killer's perspective. Now, everytime I hop onto killer because survivor times get too long this is what I face.
I wish they'd just fix the ranking and matchmaking already (because I'm never against players of my skill level, regardless of supposed rank), so I could see how much that helps before calling it quits with killer.
-
I use 40% on my killer and previously used 50% on survivor. With talks of the upcoming increase I have been slowly taking my survivor up and am currently running it on 65%.
-
LOL, that's the trial in progress screen. The killer's items are now blocked out (by the red smear). Because dead players would tell alive players what the killer was using.
EDIT: Wait until the trial is finished (all survivors dead or escaped) and you will see what the killer was using.
-
If this only affects some people then it can't be bad optimisation alone, there must be something else exacerbating it.
On PS4 you can try rebuilding the database. Failing that I'd try a new HDD, as others have reported fixing FPS issues on other games this way, although that should only really be effective on open world games where lots of assets are loading from the hard drive all the time.
Are you installed on internal or external?
How about dust inside the console? Have you ever cleaned it out?

Coming from a Rank-1-Killer on Console. Everytime you aim, there is a massive FPS-Drop, which makes it more than hard to perform quickscopes or even just aim normally on this platform. This just makes him unplayable in Redranks and needs to be fixed as fast as possible.
Slowly i am actually getting pissed of the game, because there are several bugs, absolutely disgusting dedicated servers and other stuff which just lowers the fun you could have with this game. BUT when i pay money to play a killer on PS4, which is not playable because of massive FPS-Drops everytime, then there is a big fking issue.
I hope this gets fixed soon.
(I just registred on this forum to post this, so I may not have posted it in the right section. If so, just move it)

Yes, the devs have no regard for my poor sticks.

I've been trying to think up a killer like The Mist, where they can't really be seen but have no direct contact with the survivors and have to attack them by other means.
-
This was my proposed ability for 'The Thing' licensed killer. It would need to be one of the four survivors picked in the trial or it'd fool nobody. It'd be hard to make it effective against SWF for sure. Another idea is to sow confusion or distrust by other means. Like survivors giving off a TR and red stain or other things that may affect a survivor's senses (like Doc's hallucination effect, but they see other survivors as the killer).
-
This has given me so much grief, especially with the lag that ensues when trying to load or unload the archive.
-
I've been reset. PS4. UK.

Honestly I think it would be really cool and would reward survivors prestiging more than their main. Another idea I had was if you use all 3 teachable perks that belong to a survivor you get a small bonus or an extra perk slot.
Now that's a better idea... Incentivize using character perks.
A passive bonus of some sort to compliment their area of expertise when using all 3 perks on the original character. I like that. Like a 2% movement speed increase for Meg.
An extra perk slot as a bonus would be too much.

Ermm so to the first part, why would you DC at all, wait a few seconds and die like the gameplay intends...
To the second, you dont have to play, you can just go sit in the basement tbh and wait for them to leave.
Apart from that the game would be quite ruined if people who are doing badly just dip out early every time.
Yep.
When I am utterly deflated from a ridiculous Benny Hill match, I go to the basement and stand in the corner facing the wall, contemplating my failure like a bad killer who knows the entity will be displeased and that he'll probably be going to bed with no supper tonight.
EDIT: Meanwhile, the puppet master puts down the Dualshock 4 and beckons Mary Jane over.
-
Only seen 1 in about 10 games today. PS4.
-
Nah, they had their chance - if the survivor perks were not teachable they would've given them 3 unique abilities each.
I definitely prefer it the way it is now.
-
Before I changed my privacy settings to stop players like that mesasging me, I would send them screenshots of the rules and the warning about fake reporting with a short message explaining that they are now at fault and liable to be banned if continuing to make false claims.
EDIT: I would follow that up by reporting their abusive message to Sony then blocking them.

*xbox* you mean. There is on ps4.
Exactly.
-
Depends. From your 3 choices it sounds like you will unlock them with shards, so that rules out licensed killers.
If you want a new playstyle go Spirit or Oni. Spirit will be my next shard purchase. I just got Oni and Deathslinger. Played a little Oni and he's fun. Deathslinger I have yet to try out.
If you were to buy one with real money, I'd say Ghost Face or Pig. I stupidly missed my chance for Ghost Face DLC when it was 50% off the other week.

The time it takes would be the time to walk the distance plus 1 second every 12 meters you have to travel.
That could easily end up taking a good 20-30 seconds.
That's not too bad, considering you probably wouldn't touch them again when running that strategy, unlike having to reset traps with Trapper and Hag.

It's called "The Survivors Rulebook For Killer, Complete Edition."
Killer: Is there a Killer's Rulebook for Survivors?
Survivors: Hahahahahahahhaha.
I do love the DBD parody animations.
-
I'm the poorest of the poor Legions as I have barely any perks.
-
Oh, I didn't realise they had increasing penalties already in place. I've only ever seen 5mins.
-
I really must get around to organising my footage and making some montages.
-
I only play to have fun, lol. I don't take this game seriously in the slightest, with it's weird ranking and matchmaking, and contiually debated balance.
Trapper is all I played pretty much when I started out, and even now I have put less time into all the other killers combined. Random traps are too amusing to me. Chasing players right into them is priceless. Exit vicinity traps are golden. I'm also a fan of Hag for the same reason.
Generally, when I play as killer getting kills is just a side mission. Killed a toxic 2xSWF by chance earlier after they 3 gen'd themselves while I was messing around jump scaring two other players. That was with Pig, who I also like for the laughs... sitting in the corn growling, haha.

I agree, it does promote that hook-camp mentality but I like to use it for jump scare moments - waiting around in unexpected places.
Most games that I play I do so with video captures in mind.
Not sure how the devs feel about this perk, but given how they feel about the camping strategy I'd say they are fine with it.
-
Good point about the difference between how it looks on paper and how it plays in game.
As for the 12m (I mistakenly put 14m when adding the +6m add-on), the max is actually 18m x9 (8 base + 2 extra poles, but it's distance between poles so the last doesn't come into equation), so a wall of 162m. How would the time to place them be high if they take 1sec to place? The way I read it he doesn't go and pick up inactive poles (like Trapper) but starts with them all (like Hag), so it'd be the time it takes to cross the map + 9secs. That doesn't sound like a long time to get all traps placed. Is that comparable to Hag? I have no idea, especially since killer walk speed would have to be taken into account.
You could do 5x 2-pole traps (with +2 add-on), but becuse a pole can connect to two others you can have an unbroken chain of 10 (with +2 add-on), which sounds a lot better to my ears, but again, I'm no expert.
As for map size, I had no idea about the smallest or largest diameters in the game, but a quick check on the site reveals 188 tiles to be one of the larger maps, meaning the diameter could be 13 tiles (given the shape of the map), or about 109m (given the stated 12,032m²).
Anyway, with the appropriate numbers decided by devs and tested in PTB I think it would by a good addition.
PS. Forgive (and please correct) any mistakes - I'm always high.
-
Nice ideas but they should just fix matchmaking and ranking.
Single player (due to AI) would probably take resources away from a team that has, arguably, more important things to work on - I imagine this would be a common response (going by all the "fix your game before more content" posts), even though there are probably a lot who would like to see it.

Best idea I've seen in a while.
-
If we had a penalty system similar to the one in GR and we got an auto-disconnect feature for players over a certain ping we could not only curb (or at least better punish) rage quitting but also push out the laggy players. Having strikes helps to prevent penalising innocents.
-
The only way I'd endorse that is if the culprits could still play as Killer. Without another gamemode that could be played while on timeout in ranked this would not be a good idea - Custom doesn't count.
It is always a difficult thing to deal with in online competitive games since it is a kick in the teeth to get penalised for a power cut, but also a pain in the arse to have to put up with constant quitters.
I do believe the penalty system should be tweaked with increasing penalties throughout the day though, resetting at midnight.
In Ghost Recon there is a system of strikes (harsher for ranked than quick match) - Get 5 strikes in QM and you are banned for 1 hour (3 strikes in ranked). From the time of your first strike a 2 hour timer is started and if you do not quit within that time you will reset to zero strikes. If you quit within two hours of your first strike you will gain a second strike and the timer will restart. And so on and so forth.
EDIT: I've just realised what you mean. Just for backing out of the lobby before everyone has readied up? Nah. No thanks. If we ever get to see the killer's ping (which you should for every player), then this would penalise me for dodging what I know will be laggy matches.
Q: do we get back our burnt offerings when a match is cancelled due to someone leaving during loading? If not, that should be punishable. I've never really paid attention to it, but just assumed they were lost once burnt regardless if a trial was cancelled or not. Does the entity do refunds? LOL.
Anyway, my feedback was intended for rage quitters.
-
I see why Exemplar *discourages tunneling/camping, but those types of players wouldn't run it.
It's an interesting killer. Kind of a passive Doctor (or a Trapper-Doctor) with the ability. I'm not sure about the number of *poles though. Seems excessive and you could probably create a side-to-side division across the whole of some maps (10x14m). I'm not knowledgable enough about DBD to say for sure but some of it is seeming OP. It is 1am here though. I'll check back and see what others think tomorrow.
To be honest, I think the community have been coming up with better ideas for original killers than the devs.

Can we make it to where every time a survivor gets hooked for the first time, they get a 20 second timer going and if they reach the sacrifice state before that timer finishes they get a negative bloodpoint action like say -25,000 bloodpoints which gets subtracted from your account's bloodpoint pool if you didn't make more than that in the match? I can't think of any valid reason that a survivor would reach the sacrifice state from first hook in 20 seconds unless they blew through unhook chances to race to the 2nd state and just refused to struggle to race to the sacrifice state.
But what about when the exit gates are open and the remaining survivors only then get first hooked? You want them to not try to escape?

-
I believe the "nerf" guy was being sarcastic, because that would seemingly be typical of the devs. At least that's how I read it.
-
Yeah, since I came back and saw the change to Kindred I was pretty impressed to say the least. A lot of perks and mechanics have changed since I last played (Dec 2018) so there's a lot to get used to.
-
Rank is only really a measure of BP gain, meaning consistently lucky players will also have good ranks.
The only way I can see of having a meaningful ranking system here is for survivors to be based off escapes and killers off kills, but AFK is still gonna be a problem (we really need an auto-kick feature for killers that don't move within the first two minutes of a trial).
It would need (x) placement matches to determine rank and then league brackets of varying skill level (eg. noob/adv/pro/elite).
But that would likely turn the game on it's head in terms of gameplay (much like the events I have taken part in), so would need separate queues for casual and ranked trials. That all seems too much tbh.

Balanced landing is situational. It'll only work on maps like Bagham, Haddonfied or Asylum which have los blockers. If you wanna disappear from the killer quick and quiet, iron will, dance with me and lithe will work a lot better and can be used pretty much anywhere
Oh, my mistake, this is actually the build I was thinking of. I'm not a fan of balanced landing. I confused the icons in that other post, haha.

Hmm, almost sounds like an anti-tunneling perk for a killer. Interesting.
But would a tunneler pick this and forego his usual tunneling build/strategy? Probably not.
Regardless, it's a decent enough sounding perk. I'm no expert though.
Out of interest what killer would you use this on and what would your build be?
-
Yeah, the model you describe I have only seen in free to play games.
I believe greed would be the only thing blocking it in paid titles.
I wish I could sell all my useless items for 1 AC each before prestiging - maybe an option to convert all remaining items once you have confirmed prestige? Haha, I won't be holding my breath on either.

It's mediocre. Fixated + Sprint burst + Calm spirit + Iron will is the ultimate stealth combo. You can dump the calm spirit for spine chill if you don't have good game awareness. But plenty of killers at high ranks will be running IF or other killers that make you scream.
Fixated + Sprint burst is easily the most powerful exhaustion combo in the game currently. Tons of stealth potential, feels great to use, and sprint burst is just the best exhaustion perk.
Okay. But I like to run that setup as it's good for me. Not too bothered about what is better, but I'm not a fan of SB as I always accidentally trigger it. Not trying to be a pro or use all the best/OP builds. I run what I feel like running at the time and all my survivors/killers have limited perk choices.

Pretty sure I'm hitting rank 1 today if you're right. I'll play some games and see. Never occurred to me that Frenzy had a lunge idk why
Unless it's just the speed that makes it seem that way. I'm always high AF so I could be wrong.

Hmmm. When I hold down a frenzy hit it's a massive lunge.

your sentences don't make sense.
to the other guys who don't know how it works and are ASSUMING, you are wrong. the ping you see is you connection to the dedicated server. if the killer is from the moon and is VPNing, he will have ridiculously bad ping and he will make everybody else's game bad.
Okay. Thanks.

Bad ping killers absolutely should be dodged. Make them leave the game and come back when they have better internet.
