The only other thing I'm disappointed in his the backstory they gave him. Pyramid Head was introduced as a manifestation of James Sutherlands guilt in SH2. As other monsters took on manifestations of other emotions. The role PH played in SH2 though was much more than that though, he was Guilt, Judgement, Truth, Release, he was in a sense James. By far he was more them than Executioner. And Mary's letter offering cant be used here as the dbd version has no reference to to SH2. The map it sends you to isnt even SH2. This PH is based off the crappy movie version so it should stick to this. They cant take the movie version and just give it a game reference, it just feels they themselves haven't even played the game cause he wasnt in SH3 either. Even though Cheryl's character was. I know it seems stupid but for what is and always will be my favourite horror game and villain, they could have done a much better job paying respects than badly implemented references.

Youβre right though that Pyramid Head requires strategy. He needs to choose between saving loads of time (sending to a cage) yet forfeit any perk ability that would require a hook unhook, or spend the time hooking a survivor. Both come with risks and pros.
Definitely, I do feel he cant push gens unless his whole build is based on it... however if you equip him with anti heal. It might just benefit him more as it means better utilization of his abilities. I think his cages should only be used sparingly, as same with his attack ability. I am also interested in how far you can make his trail and how long it lasts, cause if he is in the Hospital or Haddonfield say, that trail will be substantial for easy tracking

Nevermind. Its giving me messages way too late xD but that is good though, makes him much more balanced in that degree

Cage of atonement will not give hex tokens because it is not a hook action.
Which is good, because that would be totally broken otherwise.

Resident Evil would work. But there is no discussion on that somewhere, just some mentionings that people would like such a chapter. I wonder how noone could have found an "obvious" clue that chapter 16 will be Resident Evil though :P
But to be honest, with a quick search I just think Resident Evil and Silent Hill are the only two horror games that would make sense in DBD. But I haven't played Evil Within, so that might work too if you guys say so
I dont think RE could to be honest. Like Mr X just walks through a wall. Unless they start allowing a certain killer to just break whole buildings, Mr X wouldnt work. If you consider when he is hit he begins to run faster how would you implement that as an ability. Oh I get a temporary speed boost?
Nemesis would be the better pick but again. Youd have to make his rocket launcher an ability that just allows him to injure state a group of survivors in a radius which would be broken tbh π

Survivors have a video game only character, why not one for killer?
I'm sure that's what they're working towards but you know... money is their main idea. Look at GhostFace, they made discount version. Made it so people had to pay for his classic costume. I would love Pyramid Head as a killer, I just dont know how he'd work. He's a natural slow stalk like killer. Evil Within would be an interesting pick because of the backstory.

Fair enough, and yes latency screws over both sides. If i could say anything to you is... Don't wait until the burn out to happen, i know i sometimes stop playing this game for a few weeks to let all these things go.
Yeah I get you. Just so many issues. My other teammate saved pictures of a skill check from his previous game carrying over and cementing on his screen in the next game xD we were against Doc and he had to tap every action. Imagine having to tap to get out of tier 3 and screaming randomly to bring progress down xD

Just going to comment on the doctor thing: borrowed time is supposed to protect the person who came out of the hook, to make killer go for the one who saved. Its not to tank a hit. Lately if you do that, I'll make sure to wait enough time and get you down again. Did you see his skill check? Your friend TOLD you he got it, but this you see it?
Oh and the latency thing, guess what? Its on both sides, grabs have been getting denied even though killers get the animation for months now!
Use Borrow however you see fit. End of. It's on killer if they decide to hit or not. And yes I seen it, we're living under same roof, they recorded it. I get latency has been acting up, I've suffered alot of grab denies. But I still think getting hit way past the point of 'No f#cking way' is worse.

Let me take ######### at latency grabs too.
Yday hooked a guy, claud instantly went for save in front of me "hugging the survivor with short m1 clicky on the hook"; pulled out over 7 "denied grab animations" in a row.
Still didnt grab her because why should I. Maybe it's a good idea when you deny that grab few times to give the grab straight away after few "failed" grabs because you literally see your hand(or claw... whatever killer has at the moment π€£) grabbing that twat XD
Grab animations have been broken for a while. Had those same issues gen grabbing as GhostyBoi. That and when I went to grab a downed survivor, it froze me in place for 10 seconds as he Unbrakeables and gets away π€£

I definitely am not I maines killer when I started as a ghost face who was soooooo good and then rank 14 introduced me to toxicity and swf and so I hit rank 12 prestige and switched to surv that I thought was harder but then I got better amd realized killer is way harder im a surv main but I also play killer at high ranks so im not biased but dude oni is not the best and I have only ever gone against a good oni a couple times he is too easy to counter and no one knows how to use him and even when they do he is easier to counter then billy IMO but yeah he can be like billy but the reason he isn't as good is because his ability is so reliant on hits that survs can deny you of also you lose your tracking in his ability so you cant track except for sound and marks which is the same as other killers so yeah he is not the best and never will be
True, but the fact whenever you come out of his ability all blood that was there before are back which constantly give him his ability. Sure Billy has more flow but if you are an Oni at red rank, Then it's the same Oni every game. M&A, Pop, BBQ and Infectious. And if it's the same Oni at Red rank getting 4k, it does get ridiculous. Imo, I find him quicker in finding people than Billy. And Oni can still get around loops with his flick so I suppose its agree to disagree.

I dunno what to tell ya, man. I get 4k's regularly with no perks, addons, or offerings.
Killers are fine. I do like to joke that survivors are much tougher than the killers, but that's just a gameplay thing. (Seriously, look how much damage survivors take and keep going! Killers get flashed with some light and they're out for the count. Wimps!)
Also, stop complaining about "genrushing". That's the survivors goal. It's their objective. Of course they do it as fast as you'll allow them to do it. Don't be like those survivors who whine about their opponent just doing their job.
Couldnt have said it better. Gen rush is a made up phrase made by killers for killers to explain why the objective is done so fast. Like as it is right now, with the hit boxes and everything. Killers are strong. That's fine but it needs a balance both sides.

Doc is op now if survivors dont know counter play omg even a rank 20 could kill all red ranks I mean you either got idiots or are surfing or havent played in a while but you don't have much experience of you thinking oni is the best killer nurse billy and huntress are the big 3 and nurse is all by herself up there she is the best killer in the game
Oni, Billy, Nurse, Huntress, Spirit and Ghostface are the main red rank killers I have come across. And yes, at any rank, if you are good with Oni, you will always get 3-4k every game because he has free tracking. Easy map control, easy hook control. Yes, he is strong and one of the best. If they can snowball easy and quickly, they are strong. Simple as that. And Doc is strong, no denying. As I said I'm 15 facing two rank 1s, a 6 and a 10 on one of the strongest survivor maps. Doesn't automatically mean I should be able to kill all of them just because you say so. It just makes you sound like a judgemental killer main criticising how others should play, which I dont believe you are.

Mate, despite the fair game lineup you had in regards to ranks. Your first mistake is playing a killer you have barely anything on at this rank. Your second, even with what you have, Oni doesn't work with those perks. NOED, Haunted, Rancor, their not stupid at this rank. They know how to deal with it. If they know you have Thrill. They automatically assume you have NOED.
Your third mistake is your obvious lack of experience with Oni. He is by far the strongest killer in the game the fact he can snowball games. The fact 3 got out means they are either very good as survivors or your really bad as Oni. Keep in mind Gen rush isnt real, it's a term made up by killers to explain why the objective goes too fast. To say you feel you need to use a mori just to get kills is sad. I played as Doc yesterday at rank 15 and I faced two 1s, a 6 and a 10 on Ironworks of Misery. All 4 died. Was hard, got 4 out 5 gens done but I got them without mori.
My recommendation, play a killer you're better at since you are high rank. The time to learn killers is private game or between 20-12. Build up Oni if you're looking to main him. Get M&A, Infectious Fright, BBQ and Pop. Then if you're good, easy 4k so much so it shouldnt be.

So as you can see in the photo above there, the killer lost 3 survivors and only managed to kill one. Now I have a pretty decent killer here with the right add-ons, a pretty high level killer (just 40) and damn good perks. Yet I still manage to let 3 survivors escape. Bit weird no? This game ended very quickly, in less that 10 mins or so 3 of the survivors had already escaped. I can't help but notice how unfair the game is for killers now.
As for the last few weeks now I've tried to go back to playing killer instead of playing survivor but I always end with the same sad results. Either I equip an ebony mori or they all escape. What kind of a joke is this. I put pressure on the map, I take down survivors, I have NOED for when the last generator is done.
What'S going on with DBD? Aren't players meant to have fun instead of stressing over things like this. Countless matches that I have played are all like this, unless I equip an ebony mori and they all die. Other than that it's almost impossible to get a decent game. What do you want me to do? π

Hi fellow gamers! I started a discussion several days ago about the possiblity of Pyramid Head from Silent Hill being the new Killer, but I didn't go too in-depth about why I thought he'd be a possibility. Since then, I've discovered and researched things that strongly suggest that my suspicions might come to fruition, and I wanted to share them with everyone! Let's get started.
"Iconic in the world of horror since it's release"
This statement can be applied in full to Silent Hill. According to Wikipedia and the Silent Hill Wiki:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/164/Screenshot_1.png
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/071/Screenshot_2.png
I would also like to state clearly that the "world of horror" obviously includes video games. And "iconic" doesn't mean it has to be on the level of Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers and Jason. "Iconic" can mean "widely recognized and well-established" or "widely known and acknowledged especially for distinctive excellence", and I think it's safe to say that Silent Hill falls under these definitions. According to Wikipedia, it is "a defining title in the survival horror genre", and on the Silent Hill Wiki, it "had a huge impact and legacy on the survival horror genre since it's release" (inception!).
"A Classic License"
With "classic" meaning "serving as the established model or standard" or "having lasting significance or worth", we can easily say that Classic can be applied to Silent Hill. It is a "classic" horror game, as it has been and is still being referenced to this day, and is an established model of the survival horror genre, with many horror games taking inspiration from the franchise.... and it still has great worth and significance, as many gaming journalists and individuals still cite it as "one of the best horror games of all time". (Fun fact: The Duffer Brothers cited Silent Hill as an influence in the creation of their show, Stranger Things!)
The 4 on the anniversary logo
The Dead by Daylight 4th Anniversary announcement photo has a few odd details here and there.... but I immediately saw a similarity between the 4 logo on the image and Pyramid Head's appearance, and got to work.
Here is a side-by-side comparison of the 4 and Pyramid Head:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/270/side by side comparison.jpg
If we take the 4 and rotate it slightly, then place it over Pyramid Head's "hat"....
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/334/Screenshot_5.png
.... it's a perfect fit.
There's really nothing more to say about this!
Conclusion
I'm not going to say that it's 100% certain that Silent Hill is the next DLC, but I'll be quite surprised if it isn't, as I think it's an extremely strong possibility! Silent Hill has been iconic since it's inception, is a classic horror game that is still being referenced to this day, and marked the world of horror by being considered one of the best horror games of all time by many, with many other peoples' horror games (and in the case of Stranger Things, shows!) taking inspiration from Silent Hill. But, I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
Thank you for taking the time to view my post!
Dude, I hate to burst your bubble but you cant use Wikipedia as an information source π I want Pyramid Head. But this whole thread based off Wiki is useless in debate. The on li y thing you've got is the 4 comparison image which is isnt much as you could find many different images to squeeze into that I'm sure.

I understand that latency is a thing and can affect hits. But that's not the main argument I'm making. What I'm saying is, if I throw a hatchet-sized object, whether or not it connects should make sense to both parties. Even if you discount the unpredictability of internet performance, the hitboxes are still poorly done.
- You're throwing a hatchet at a survivor. The survivor (and the killer) have mentally established the area this object is capable of affecting based on its size/spin during a throw.
- What's happening right now, minus lag, is you're throwing hatchets with circles attached that are (most of the time) hitting other circles around the model, not the model itself. That is the issue.
You're sending conflicting messages to both players and training bad habits in the killer, which could only ever truly come to light with proper hitboxes. Survivors are seeing a "hit" when the hatchet did, in fact, completely miss - your inaccurate hitbox is at fault here, not the survivor. The huntress player, as an example, is therefore trained to hit "an area", not a survivor. That is the most effective way to play the killer. All of those trick shots become far less impressive when you realize most of them don't even make contact with a survivors model, but instead an invisible body barrier surrounding them.
- TLDR: Hatchets should only hit when making contact with the character model, not their poorly drawn hitboxes. Hitting the air around a survivor to score a hit shouldn't be a thing, especially not in 2020. And no, "it's just the internet" doesn't count for why most hits appear as complete horse crap 50% of the time. There is indeed a hitbox issue at play here that none of the developers seem to want to acknowledge. Can bad hits happen due to latency? Yes. Is this the only cause of non-nonsensical hits? No. Far from it.
Say what you will. We both know that the devs dont see the hitbox individually as an issue. Yes latency plays effect too but shouldnt that be better than it is? Like I dont expect a perfect server but I'm sure there can be improvements made so that a survivor cant be hit on the other side of a window already running away with lithe. Getting hit on the other side of pallets. And the fact crossplay was even considered this last while really shows they're in over their depth. It's not seen as a concerning/ relevant issue so it wont be changed.
I've even made a shot with Deathslinger and Huntress on the saloon map. I had one of my friends foot appear in a little crack in the wall. Both projectiles connected. Yes, Deathslinger can hit through bullshit. Tested him on Hawkins and a survivor that couldnt be seen behind barrels got hit by me. All you can see was the chain centering through several walls and barrels and the survivor just standing up. Those targets were standing still, so no latency issue there.

Well, the hitboxes -are- an issue, and the fact that you think they're not is baffling. In no way are those pills accurate to the actual shape of your characters. You even have videos showing the massive disparity between the size of the hitbox and the character. You have huge portions of the box hanging so far to the sides of each character that it makes impossible occurrences even more likely to take place (on top of subpar servers). They should be form-fittingly accurate based on each character's unique proportions, like most every other game.
Also, if the servers are the main problem.. well, what does it take to get -better- servers? Surely there's no shortage of income at the rate cosmetics come out. Maybe more of the cash flow could be redirected to better servers and the overall health of the game? Y'know, long term. These kinds of issues wouldn't be left as long in most other games with any sort of playerbase to speak of. People have limits, and this will eventually reach boiling point and cost DBD numbers.

It's not Dead by Daylight if the sound isn't broken with every update π
Like I know it always has some sound issue but in all my time playing these last 2 years. I dont remember it this bad. And they seem pretty happy having people pay for a Fortnite battle pass every rift. I looked at the special edition of this game on console and it is 35-40 euro. Guess what, it still only goes to Huntress. So for an already 4 year old game, they are charging high price for old gen characters.
Like at least if they updated to the previous years characters well and good so bring it up to Legion if you're charging 35-40. Cause honestly this game should be sold at a price close to zero. It's just all money with these guys. I was told by my relative who looked at forums that overall on ALL platforms. There is only 33,000 players π€£ good look BHVR.

The survivors objective is still too easy to accomplish, I play both sides and in my survivor games 8/10 at least two people escape . All survivors need to do is gens and waste the killers time by looping itβs so simple . This therefore makes killer stressful to play at times both sides should be enjoyable to play but unfortunately they are not atm . Now some people are gonna say your bad at killer , I played a game as huntress today and I was ending chases in less than 10-15 secs but as per the gems still flown by and one of them escaped . I honestly think the gen time should be increased by 10 seconds to make it 90 seconds per gen.
So you're Huntress, and you ended chases in a matter of like 10-20 seconds. And you're bothered about 1 escaping when you got 3 kills. Like by all means share opinion but it just seems you're upset that you didnt 4k. I wish I could end chases that quickly. If you did that well and only 1 got out, chances are you facing a very very good survivor or just a lucky one. Honestly. Gen speeds were never meant to be addressed the way people were saying they should. And I don't think they'll be adjusted any time soon. Just get used to it. Cant 4k every game.

You could just make the siren like huntress whistling, you hear it way before inside his radius. And once in his radius, you're slowed like freddy's snares. But permanently until you escape his radius. This would mean you could only hide against him once he's on you. A very different killer, would change the game in a good way. I'm glad OP posted this
True but what if they're just hiding from the get go. You go to a gen, find nobody. Sure they may be slowed but they could just hide like a blendette. Perhaps his ability is that as long as he looks at you, you get a speed rebuff that persists for maybe 2 seconds after ward so that he can still mind game around walls?

I'd absolutely love a Silent Hill chapter to be honest, idc what anyone says. The atmosphere in the first and second game was terrifying.
It can only be Pyramid Head though as he was the signature icon of the series. We need the siren playing as his terror radius when in the vicinity. Thing is, he is a natural slow entity in the game (atleast in 2 and he represented the manifestation of James Sutherland and his Judgment) so unless they either make him Nurse speed but with great power or 4.2 he just isnt going to work no matter how much we want him :/
It's cool in concept, he is EVERYONES JUDGEMENT but I'm not sure what his ability would be to make him viable.

I am a Red Rank killer and Red Rank survivor.
And no, you don't leave them for 60 seconds, you slug and leave them for 60 seconds. They're not invincible, slugging is a great strategy. Killers slug all the time at 1 gen, so ######### is the issue of slugging a survivor when they're so phobic about getting a 5 second stun.
You're unfortunately arguing to walls. I personally dont have a problem, most people let you know they hav DS so you can down them and leave, that's at least 1 other person doing the heal and if you're chasing another that's only 1 person actually potentially progressing game. I'll even chew DS early cause I dont want it at endgame where they DS then teabag before they leave.
Although as a killer it is frustrating that they jump in lockers to force ultimatum. Killers also need to understand that camping and tunneling is a thing. Thus why Borrowed Time, DS were ran quite alot. I had a red rank camping and tunneling Billy with Noed and Blood Warden and the fact that can even be a thing is depressing.
As a killer main, I understand their frustrations but they dont see the big picture of, what do you want from them. They cant have DS, cant have Unbreakable, heck they moan about Dead Hard when it's easily duped. I think at this stage, killers want survivors to stand still these days. New map designs which does alot for already lethal killers and still there are complaints.

Maybe someone can see the context. I'm actually not suprised there's still no real statement about this bug. To less people are talking about it > no high priority. Muted survs on the ground is also still a thing, and it's been since months...
Solve the equation: New map design+New Killer updates=bad sounds design. How do they do it xD

Scratch that. I've gotten endgame music on all MacMillan and Coldwind maps

Sound is especially borked there are too many sound bugs to list, my favorite/most annoying bug is when downed survivors dont make any sounds which is never supposed to happen regardless of if you have iron will or no mither. Those perks aren't supposed to effect downed survivors sound.
I've noticed it with some, Ace, Meg, Jake, Dwight I think. Others are fine. Just certain ones

Constant end-game music, huh? Sounds irritating.
Last night I went against a constant chainsaw-rev Bubba, even when he was carrying survivors!
All. Match. Long.
So annoying!
Imagine constant temper tantrum bubba XD be so funny

So I have noticed so far that it is only on MacMillan maps

It's crazy how badly this must be coded for them to make all these bugs that keep showing up, granted I dont know how code but you dont need to know how to weave a basket to know that a whole in the bottom means someone ######### up
My bro has a career in coding and he is even making his own little game. According to him, he doesn't understand how they could mess such simple coding up as he put it, 'Its baby code compared to his every day work'. Oh yeah, found a bug today where you cant hear gens looking at certain angles. Was in Purgation and the gen in the temple couldnt be heard even though I was on top of it. Another gen I walked by cause there were no sounds, 20 seconds later with one person, the gen pops up. This game is f#cked.

Unfortunately we can always count on BHVR to implement just as many bugs as they fix. It's a never ending cycle of unwrapping their spaghetti code in some areas and they somehow create knots in other areas of the game.
Remember Wake Up. XD The ability to get gens done in seconds. That wasnt even changed as a perk and somehow it was effected. Its honestly a joke at this point. Rank issues has been a problem since Oni if I remember right. And yet they still haven't fixed it. About the new map designs. I found a tree blocking part of the exit gate. And a rapidly flashing trap set. Great job so far.

No offense, but if BHVR would have a real and competent QA team those pathetic bugs wouldn't make it to live. There is no way that no dev or tester didn't find that obvious bug. It's unacceptable.
Unfortunately they're too busy with next killer. I've even noticed orders in game taking priority. The biggest with self care. When someone is on hatch, itll treat self care as priority. I've seen people sitting by a pallet looking at it and still it self cares before pallet. I tried rescuing a hooked survivor and because a window was beside them (and the longer vault pull distance) it sucked me to vault instead of save. Not to mention messed up ranking, sometimes people dont even get rank reset at all xD my brother went from killer 1 to 1 π€£ I think competency went out the window long ago. It's just money. Heard there is estimated 33,000 left on this game.

Yes I'm getting the same thing it is annoying as hell at the beginning when I'm trying to listen for gens...
It's really annoying in all out general. If it was only up until 1st chase I could live with it but it persists to play the whole game, preventing me from hearing if they vault, are right beside me, anything :/

that sucks but to be fair face camping is really strong with bubba if someone comes for a save instead of doing gens he can get both of the survivors for it. Also i feel like bubba sucks in almost everything else.
I understand... to a degree. It was on that Autohaven linear map where it's two square ends. He could have easily played the 2 gen game if he wanted to. Instead, just face camped all game. I get not all killers have the capability but even so. This really needs to be addressed. Regardless of 'oh they only get one kill, stop whining'. Camping should not be a thing and needs to be punished somehow. It's the reason BT and DS are made, which funnily enough. Killers complain about alot.

I just played on Blood Lodge and had my Ruin spawn right outside the lodge, next to some of the scrap metal, right next to a generator.
I'd be okay with some of the spots not being that well hidden, because it would let totems feel like they're not impossible to find without a perk, but some of these spots are so out in the open or super easy to see, or right next to a generator, so it just isn't okay.
Yeah I know. Like I can only assume a variation of this could be that there is a rock here surrounding it but this version doesn't.
