  • You can also feel empathy for the other side when u play the other side. You can understand their behavior only when u play the other side.

Some people on this Forum can't relate to this.

I'm getting really frustrated with him since the buffs... I feel like he got balanced for high level play and that leaves the rest of us at lower levels in a bad spot. Idk. It feels braindead as he just goes bing bong mid-chase and it beats damn near everything, including sprint burst, or a successful mindgame at a pallet/loop 'cuz he's just SO fast.

Is there some counterplay I'm not aware of? Any suggestions? I'm seeing him like 5-10x a day, and I don't even want to play the match now when I see him. Such a pain.

If he goes invisible mid-chase, find the nearest pallet / window at loop there. However, there's still a small trick I like to do at red ranks against a Wraith when he uncloaks at a loop, which is to Leave the loop immediately and look for another

I do agree that his lunge is totally ridiculous at times.... I have a 43 killstreak on Wraith (4 kills every match) after his buff and the stuff I've pulled off is beyond stupid. His increased speed duration after an uncloak allows for some truly ludicrous lunges. I've managed to hit around loops no other killer would be able to... However, all these hits could've been avoided if the survivor just left the loop, it's that simple.

If a Wraith uncloaks at a loop, especially if it's a medium-short loop, leave the loop immediately. Treat him like you would treat a Pig that tries t do an ambush attack around a loop. Do this as many times as you need, until he catches on. Then fake going away then go back to the loop where the pallet was, then you would put him in a bad spot to uncloak. The last thing you want to do is let the Wraith have control of the pallet at a loop.

When it comes to windows, when he's about to uncloak fake the window. This would waste his speed boost when he uncloaks by going in the other direction. Think of a Cheetah going 0-100 in 1-2 seconds then trying to stop & turn around. That's how it feels whenever you get baited at a window with Wraith. All of that speed will be wasted.

Edit: Forgot to mention, if you don't have any other choices for loops nearby, the best thing you can do is pre-drop the pallet and go to the other side aka the furthest away from him whilst remaining at the same loop. You can also fake going away to make him go invisible & come after you, then go back to the pallet.

If you get caught in the open, you should expect a hit. However, right before he uncloaks you can spin around because most Wraiths I've went against at red rank miss. The speed you can get from the uncloak can totally mess your hit when ur not careful. You can also run INTO him when he uncloaks to totally bamboozle him for 1-2 seconds, depending on how good he is.

Pull of these things I've mentioned above in a match and see how it works for you. You can pull these as many times as you want, until the Wraith learns from his mistakes. When u notice that, change your behavior as well. For example, as I've mentioned above, if he catches on to you going away from loops then go back immediately to the loop.

As for perks to counter him:

    • Flashbang is extremely powerful against Wraith. The AOE of that thing is beyond nuts... Whenever a Wraith comes behind you, drop the flash & run away while he's stunned for 3-4+ seconds. It's truly awful getting stunned by that thing... Your chances to get tunneled will be increased by 99% tho, it's still very fun to piss Wraiths off with this. You can repair a gen 50%, get the flashbang from the locker, repair it another 50% then have another ready whenever u need it.

  • Having one perk less in the Bloodweb when leveling killers would be a fantastic change to the perk.

    1. Huntress
    2. Hag
    3. Deathslinger.
  • Grus-Plan.jpg

I had an evil plan of mine to use Sacrificial Ward offering to troll people who wanted to play the new RPD map. This of course started all the way back to the 5.0.0 Update aka the RE Chapter...

Ngl, I did not expect to be thanked for not sending them to that map.... Foiled my plans. Weird turn of events.

  • On high mobility killers you could adjust the numbers of course. Maybe its a new stat them like the stats for TR, movement speed and heigh.

    Too much work.

Basekit ruin sounds too much. The idea of gen regressing speed per gen repaired is interesting, I'll give you that.

  • Damn bro, can I have some? Share with a brother.

  • The killer has a better Secret Lab Gaming chair than you

    -----

Common stuff. I'd check my internet to make sure my ping is not over 80 or can result in hits like these. After a while and hundreds of hours later, you get used to these kinds of things and just shrug them off... All I can say is that this is common and welcome to DBD....

  • Charlotte's face looking at the addon fits the title of your post.

  • EGC - This honestly gives me Battle Royale vibes....It would be cool to see the map collapsing, but u must remember there are people who would need to program all of this in the first place & BHVR might not be the right people for it. Also, at the end of the day we'd have just a flat piece of land with nothing on it ? ... Not sure I'd like this. I mean, the structures are there for a reason and all.... If I'm the last one alive, the killer closed hatch & he's chasing me, you bet your arse I'm going down fighting. By looping as much as possible.

SCG - I would rather not, but I'd do something (no idea what) for the start of the game depending on map size in the killer's favor. A killer can find a survivor in 5-10 seconds from the start of the game & the new perk from Nemesis which allows you to see survivors at this art of the trial would guarantee a down pretty quick. Also generators being invisible? Eh... I would hate to run into one, get cucked by it and die cause of it. Or lose a chase. Totems I can somewhat understand for a mere 5-10 seconds I'd say, cause I've had spawns near lit totems before. Not to mention, survivors would hide for the 30 second duration most likely since it'd be the smartest & safest move by far. Overhaul, I'd be against this idea.

  • Not sure how I would go back to earning regular BPs after 3 weeks of cakes & 2x Bloodpoint event.

So you want everyone to run a perk to counter a key instead of them just balancing the item? What if there is no key in the lobby?

It's almost as If Franklin's is a situational perk, designed to counter items & not be run on fully 24/7 unless you're doing it out of spite.

Killers had no problem running x perk to counter another x perk from survivor and vice versa.

Second of all, I gave you Franklin's Demise as an example, hence why I highlighted it ontop of your vague argument that "Devs did nothing for killers in the last 8 months". It's a great perk to counter items all around.

You cry. You fail to adapt & you fail to overcome the sight of keys in your lobby. You are also ignorant to the fact that there has been a change to keys RECENTLY. Not only did I tell you, but then you downplay what I said with your ignorance by saying "nothing has been done to keys". The first step to countering keys is to stop crying, the second step is learning how to play around them / counter them. You fail to realize that DBD is a game about adaptation.

  • @Axx said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2395136#Comment_2395136

How keys work now? Nothing has changed about keys. I don't care about Franklins, this has ZERO to do with that perk. It has everything to do with it being 8 months since the last mori nerf, and nothing has been directly done to keys yet. I, nor anyone can kill someone early anymore with a mori, but I and other people sure can have multiple people escape before the survivor objective is complete if we use a key.

Keys with zero charges can no longer open the hatch.

    Nothing has changed about keys

Also, the devs not doing anything in the 8 months for killers, is kind of a far stretch if u ask me and rather unnecessary, hence why I'm calling you ignorant or at least, uninformed. Then u say this...

  • Slugging for the 4k is not holding the game hostage.

The survivor bleeding on the floor is dying, aka the game is progressing. It may waste 2 or 3 minutes of someone's time but that would be it. Posted the video because the first comment is all you need to know, by Kebek.

As a survivor, what do you do in that situation?

As the one slugged? You die or you recover yourself & try to get help from the other survivor.

When ur the last one alive? You either hide the entire duration until the other guy bleeds out or you try and help the slugged guy. There's not much to it.

Depending on the person, this can be seen as scummy / tryharding / sweating / unnecessary / etc etc...

  • To further clarify some other things you might ask yourself:

  • . Why is the survivor equivalent, the key,

Moris were NEVER the survivor equivalent. In terms of what they do then yes. but in terms of power? ABSOLUTELY NOT

Devs I hope you know a large portion of dedicated killer players feel like you really have no concern for what they have issues with, and the last 8 months speaks volumes to support this idea.

Did you not see the recent Franklin's Demise change for example & how keys work now or are you just ignorant? With all this drama, I thought I was at a theatre.

  • @bibibib8 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2394920#Comment_2394920

I dont see the issue in your game in all of them you got decent point as a survivor and in some of them you escape so even if the killer camp/slug/tunnel it did not change anything

Without going into further discussion, it mainly comes down to the "Fun" factor.

For example, how much fun did u think I had going against a Thana / Pop / Dying Light legion? I popped one gen, then was close to popping 2 other gens, but with Thana & Dying Light stacking, Legion got there before I finished and kicked the gen with pop. There were 4 gens remaining. We played on Hawkins, of all maps...

This was nothing compared to the second game with Trickster who abused the two most broken addons on him, together with proxy camping... I got downed from full health in 4-5 seconds.... It's quite something.

The other game was a bubba set on doing this during the event "because he was rich" aka I don't need BPs so I'm ruin the event for the other players.

One person is practically invisible. If we gather in a group, we finally get noticed. If we gather in an even larger group, we could probably do something.

Unless you're a person from Twitter with a checkmark. Then you get immediately noticed.

Survivors sniveling about camping day in and day out is cringe, so I will be cringe back.

Welcome to the forums. Don't try to snap at everything that offends you. I see these topics myself & most of the time I choose to ignore them, unless there's something else discussed within. Also, fighting cringe with cringe? Really... Like fighting fire with fire has ever worked out around here. In your situation, all this did was make this more cringe....ugh

I do these things myself, but I have a strategy in mind at least or when the opportunity arises. Just gotta do what u gotta do. I got tunneled yesterday by a nurse for example after our first encounter lasted 2-3 min. I didn't have DS to punish the tunneling, unfortunately. This lost her the game with me dead & 3 escapes. The absolute determination she had in finding & killing me after my 1st & 2nd hook was... really really impressive...We were playing on Midwich of all things, which is a very good nurse map. Managed to piss her off even more in endgame chat... somehow...

    Camping. 👏 Should. 👏 Not. 👏 Be. 👏 Mechanically. 👏 Punished. 👏

Survivors punish or reward it by doing gens or rushing the hook like lemmings. Those asking for some bullshit game-enforced punishment are demanding the devs cater to their made up rules and views on camping, tunneling, and slugging. They are thinking they are so entitled to an unhook that they want to force the Killer to give it to them, or be punished for daring to go against their made up rules.

    Here's the thing AGAIN:

If there's a 'camping' proximity punishment; Survivor will abuse it. We know this because there WAS, and Survivors abused it.

I don't care if some Survivor main scampers in and goes 'I don't see how it can be abused' because it was. This is not open for debate; It happened. It's a fact that Survivor abused a mechanic designed to punish Killers for 'camping' so badly, that it was quickly removed.

Think about that; not throwing shade on the devs but do they quickly fix anything that's not immensely game-breaking? But the punishment was so abused that it went away so fast, it left a sonic boom in its wake.

Leaving those issues at the side, what should be punished is deliberate & brainless camping at 4-5 gens for no reason & especially with killers like Bubba who can 100% trade a hook.

The clapping emote makes this cringe, ngl.

  • Last night I played the event for the first time, as survivor.

    This was my 2nd match:

    image.png

Let's see... Thana... Dying Light... Pop...Considerably increased feral frenzy duration + addon that makes your terror radius the entire map while in FF and can break pallets instantly. We were playing on Hawkins.

    My 3rd match:

    image.png

Proxy camping Ttrickster near Basement. Was using the addons that give you 50% laceration when they hit near you. I got downed in 4 seconds the second chase because he was aiming for my feet... Whilst the 1st chase with him lasted almost 2 minutes

    My 4th Match:

    image.png

Thank Christ I was near to heal Jill whilst Bubba was carrying Meg to the basement. Healed up in no time with my Medkit + Botany + WGLF. If I hadn't done that, it would've hands down lost us the game right there and then. Just look at his build...They were both downed in the bathroom where the basement was.

The guy also claimed he played like an absolute A-hole because he was "rich", he had 1.3 M Bloodpoints... He's not the sharpest tool in the shed. I can't wait for forum members to jump me for criticizing killers & saying that "EVERYONE CAN RUN WHATEVER THEY WANT AND PLAY HOW THEY LIKE" Yeah bro I understand, but Jesus Christ, don't do it during the event. I'm trying to work on getting all perks on Bill...

I'm sorry but, as survivor, you WANT ME, to use my cakes when I encounter these specimens? After this match, I switched to Billy.

  • Two things

    THE BUILD

    • Ruin + Undying + Tinkerer, the 3 horsemen of the apocalypse, followed by either BBQ / Pop / Devour Hope.
    • Blight has no perk variety, mainly because 99% of his downs are coming from his lethal rush, so perks that involve around needing a basic attack to activate them are not good on him, except for Devour, which catches the survivor off-guard & due to how fast Blight can get downs, he can achieve 5 stacks in no time.
    • On top of this, why run other builds when u can play the game on easy mode. Not to mention Blight is an S-Tier Killer & running this build on him can be highly oppressive & unfun.
    • Tinkerer allows him to literally jump from one side of the map to the other to stop gen from popping. Why it's most effective on Blight? He's a movement killer, he can dodge obstacles, he can maneuver around them, etc... Not to mention when tinkerer is active, his screams in a lethal rush are silent, you'll only hear him bump into things or when he's on top of you.
    • Ruin + Undying is a fantastic combo on him, yet again. Why? He's a movement-type killer, he can jump from one side to the other. Tinkerer activates, blight rushes to the gen, pushes the survivor off the gen & ruin regresses the gen at 200% speed. That 20-30 second chase? Goodbye 40%+ gen progress. A good blight can end a chase in mere seconds and allow him to rush again to another victim.
    • BBQ is usually the most common perk, down a guy, rush to another, keep the pressure going, etc.

    THE TECHS

Blight has hands down, the most number of techs. Looking at a guide on YT whilst you're learning Blight will instantly show how many maneuvers, techs & tactics Blight has. 10x better than learning them on your own.

    • The Hug Tech - Blight bumps into an object, whilst he's sliding forward from the bump he can slide around the entire obstacle. You can bump into the shack for example, wait till you're touching the shack, look down & then do a lethal rush, You can literally slide around the entire shack, no other killer can do this kind of thing
    • Shoulder Flick Tech - Whilst in a lethal rush, going towards a survivor while they're trying to move left or right, wait till you practically touching them & abuse blight's immense hitbox to hit the survivor. You can pull some extremely nasty hits, to a point you can hit the survivor behind you. You can't escape this, you can't dodge it, you can't do anything. However, this requires some decent reaction time.
    • J flick / Z Flick - One variation, to another. You can flick your mouse into a direction, then flick again to do a 90* turn, up to a 180* turn. However, you can do it way easier if you're on PC. Bind your E & Q to look left & right, press them, then flick your mouse in one direction to do a flick. This is hard to do, and it's down to muscle memory & once you get it down, you'll become quite deadly.

Listen, I can go on for ages listing down all the techs & stuff Blight can pull off, so I'm just gonna link you a YT video to show you those. I don't own Blight but I'm aware of those things & know how to pull them off if I decide to buy Blight. I'm a Billy main and Blight would feel like seconds nature to me, just like Oni. I learned these things because as a survivor you're supposed to learn & adapt to them whenever you're facing against experienced Blight Players. I say that, but they sometimes they can truly piss me off as it leaves me with no counterplay. To some things, you just can't really react to or avoid.

Don't forget that Blight is one of the hardest killers to master, if not the hardest. Unlike blight, Nurse has a lack of techs & her power nullifies some of the game's core mechanics, such as walls, obstacles, etc... etc...

    Here's the video in question:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sp_0PCdSOo&ab_channel=LilithOmen

  • This usually happens when no1 looks at the addons when changing a killer's base kit power.

I say usually cause this happens all the time around here.

  • I would agree with Overcharge.

However, Huntress's Lullaby at 5 stacks removes the sound notification you would get normally when you're about to receive a skill check. For experienced players, this would prove no problem but for those that are above rank 8+ let's say, it would be quite oppressive. Just my thought

  • Tough choice...

    • Myers
    • Pyramid Head
    • Twins
    • Pig, maybe?
    • Ghostface

My friend bought it because cross-progression was supposed to be coming out so he could play both handheld when traveling (which was when he bought it) and on Steam when at home. But then cross-progression got pushed back. And now, to make matters worse, there's no cross-progression and Switch has been segregated from the rest of the platforms so they have no cross-play, can't work on the Rift, and don't get the Greek charms.

When a game comes out on a platform, it should work on that platform. When a company can't get the game to work properly, they should stop selling it and issue refunds. BHVR hasn't stopped selling it and hasn't issued refunds, the game isn't old it only came out on Switch late 2019, so the game should be fully supported and work.

Pff, like the game being absolutely broken, has ever stopped companies from selling them in their store / all stores

    Amirite Bethesda / EA ?

  • What made you play DBD on Switch despite all of its flaws & issues?

I understand other games on Switch, but why DBD?

  • They're new, interesting & a good thing, for once.

However, the implementation is pretty bad. They should reset and allow you to do it indefinitely until you get it done, rather than, if u fail once, it's gone forever. You might tell me "But it's to test your skill", yes you're right. But.... There are quite a few variables when it comes to hitting those skill checks successfully.

  • Two things:

    1. Some actions that u think are reportable, might not be.
    2. You will not be told if the person got punished.

Auto-ban is a feature that will come in the future.

  • 7 or 8 times, roughly & I have almost 1000 hours in DBD. It's very hard to do unless you've got a SWF ready to farm BPs and play the game normally OR all the stars align for you in one match. Not to mention, some mandatory perks.

    -----

Survivor BP gain would be 10x better if u maxed out one category and the BPs kept stacking until 32k but the overhaul score / ranking score(Pip) would not be affected.

Then again, we're also missing perks that should give 100% bonus Bloodpoints in one or two categories. I know for sure we don't have perks that give bonus BP for boldness actions.

  • I'm stacked... On Depressi-.... Cakes.

Nothing like playing the 2x Event after a 3-week Anniversary Update. I'm ready for the pain, once again.

  • A good build for camaraderie?

    SWF

OR... If you're on PC, tell the randoms in your lobby, if they're on PC as well that you use that perk... If they know what the perk does....

  • I like to delight myself in the murder of fellow survivors.

I also like to roleplay chest protector bubba.

  • Why Ruin + Undying + Tinkerer + BBQ / Devour?

    1. It's reliable
    2. It's very strong
    3. Blight is a movement killer so Tinkerer gives him great value
    4. Same thing with BBQ
    5. Ruin & Undying - Blight being a movement killer & with tinkerer in effect he can reliably jump from one place to another and deny a gen from popping. He'll chase the survivor(s) away from the gen while ruin does its job. You can avoid a Blight but you can't run away from him.
    6. Undying is there to back up Ruin. Or Devour hope is he also chose that perk instead of BBQ
    7. Why try anything else if this combo does all of the above & even more? Blight is a very strong killer. If the player behind Blight is also quite good & knowledgeable then... Imagine you put training wheels on a bike for a guy who goes to Marathons, this is how this build feels like when it's on a good Blight.

Edit: Forgot to mention the addons which can also make the game easier.
