Damn I'm kinda new to the forums so I didn't even know fan creations was a thing. Appreciate you pointing that out I'll have to check it out. But I would love a mafia enforcer. That would be badass
Yeah, needs tweaking. Power is kind of like Pig's in that it happens AFTER a chase, but I made his terror radius smaller. Probably should just rework it entirely.
-
Sprint Burst, Spine Chill, Bond, Self-Care/Botany Knowledge+medkit - Scardy Cat. Staying out of sight and helping where you can. Generally run on Claudette.
Decisive Strike, [Exhaustion]*, Self-Care, Botany Knowledge - Self-sufficient Badass. Run around the killer when they come at you, help others. Generally run on Yui.
*preferrably Balanced Landing or Dead Hard.
-
There are generally 4 types of Pigs you will face: Trap tunnellers, stealth campers, the GOOD ones, and the baby.
Trap tunnellers and stealth campers are honestly inflating Pig's stats so the dev's won't do anything to her. The other types are fine.
As a Pig main, I also find an unreasonable amount of people DC'ing but this is also lower ranks as I haven't played much killer lately because of matchmaking.
As for my build it' Surveillance, BBq, Nurse's, Ruin. Combine with the add-ons of Combat Straps, Video Tape or John't Medical File (any 2/3 add-ons). Good for small tracking, ambushing and overall mid-game pressure.
-
You'll generally find this sort of thing in Fan Creations.
Personally, I've done 2 killers and a survivor. One killer is a mafia enforcer, while the other is a mountaineer with ice powers.
My survivor is an Australian "mechanic" since there's only scrap and shortcuts to keep some things running in the desert.

so, even more handholding
the warnings when any status effect is triggered is so pathetic to begin with. Touch a totem? Here's your Thrill of the Hunt warning. Get stalked too much? Here's your warning that the killer is near you. Devour is active? Here, go find it. Make your choice is active? Run and hide for 60 seconds.
It's sad the amount of babysitting survivors require.
You could always assume NOED exists.. by you know.. touching totems for 16 seconds.
Again. Exposed is THE SINGLE most powerful effect. You SHOULD be warned against it.
Devour Hope and Rancor are the only ones I'm fine with having a hidden exposed effect, because they have conditions.
DH requires you to have hooked 3 people, run past a set radius, and have them NOT die on hook in order to get Exposed. Rancor gives you exposed on your Obsession, but they can get an idea on if they're gonna get Rancor'd or not. Both perks are also useful throughout the game, which for me is a much better thing anyway.
NoED has zero requirements on your end. "Have a remaining dull totem" is not a killer requirement. It only reveals itself on first hit.
Can you at least follow my logic, and see the giant double standard that NoED brings? Too little requirement for such a powerful effect.

You are a blendette who wants billy nerfed because you are frequently out of position. You want NOED nerfed because you want to stealth around in danger zones.
I deserve a voice just fine. Your voice needs a strong opposition because what you have been asking for is gross.
I PLAY YUI LATELY. And I have not called for Billy nerfs lately. The Hillbilly Problem is about a symptomatic problem of the game, that just so happens to be tied to Hillbilly.
Blendettes generally do nothing anyway. I do. I'm that one that does stuff that you don't see as killer. I'M the one who tapped that gen you just kicked, the one who made the unhook about 10 seconds after you hooked them and left, the one who 99'd that game you just went past.
I want NoED to be FAIR for both sides, as it's extremely unfair for survivors. Free exposed because I can't find all the totems myself? Sounds totally fair to me!
You don't deserve anything when you look at the surface level and say stuff like "I deserve death".
-
Pig, Trapper, Clown and Huntress.
In general though, repect is earned not given. If you play an honest game and kill me, then you're the superior and I respect that.
If you have to rely on camping, slugging, tunneling or overusing base kit instant-downs to "sEcUrE mEh FhEr KhEr", then no respect what so ever.
-
For a perk to need a buff, it first be weak. NoED is not weak. A total re-work would be better.
Not to mention if you have to rely on NoED for kills, then you simply don't deserve them. Just take a regular perk, LIKE RANCOR, that helps you throughout the game. Not just endgame.
On certain killers, it's also downright broken. Nurse, Spirit or Hillbilly all have insane mobility to capitalise on. Myers, GF, Bubba and Billy also have base-kit instant downs, and don't really need MORE of them.
As for your jest about Self-Care comments, it's literally an insurance policy for teammates who won't heal. "Necessary evil" and "good" are different things.
-
I'd rather verse an Oni than the billionth Hillbilly.
Better aesthetic and you have to work for your power.

Smart build but remove no mither and put Boil over or flip flop.
Funny. The "must have" on No Mither and Object didn't show up on your mention.
But in all seriousness, the meme is that you have Object and No Mither. The ultimate hard mode.
-
The devs have said before that they deem Hillbilly as the centre of balance. The community puts him within the top 5/top 3 for power.
All killers outside of the "top 5" need buffs to rival these killers before we even consider changing something as core to the game as generator times.
There are also two very important things to talk about too: Killers have an entirely different game to play and killers are also aiming for a 4k, when the devs say that a 2/2 is the centre of balance.
While I cannot condemn a killer for aiming for the 4k, there are limits to my generosity, and I play my fair share of killer. There are certain tactics that inflate statistics, as well as ruin the game for others. Killers will not receive the necessary buffs while people are actively going out of their way to inflate these statistics.
As for the gameplay, we have a first-person hunting game compared to a third-person atmospheric survival-horror. We cannot compare a killer hunting a survivor to a survivor working on a generator as a series of numbers. It's like comparing Call of Duty: Yet Another One to Alien: Isolation.

Play a stealth killer.
The main part of Chaser is how quickly you can end a chase. Stealth killers tend to get their first hit off early and get the "perfect" hit, which is meant to occur within 7 seconds of the chase starting. If you even suspect of a chase going on for too long, then dip and find a new one.
-
The Alchemist.
Why would they give us that video and NOT make him a killer?
-
Your killer's instinct range is tied to Terror radius. Because of this, I highly recommend Monitor and Abuse.
They do bleed out into the dying state if they don't mend, but that's about as likely to happen as someone getting killed by a Pig's RBT and with less impact on the game.
You don't slow them when you hit them with Feral Frenzy, as it counts as a hit. Mangled simply slows healing speed, but not mending.

I'm going to say 2019, but it'd be EARLY 2019. Darkness Among Us was the latest patch, and it was before Year of the Pig. Winter Wonderland was over, but I'm not sure if it was in the new year or not.
Picked it up because quite a lot of us tried getting into Friday the 13th since we had a massive group who all met through Overwatch. Some of us picked up DbD because we though it'd be better, and could be played with less people. I think that I'm the only one who still plays it.
-
@NullEXE said:
Because people would rather win's handed to them when selecting a role at title screen instead of getting better at the game. It's easy to counter, doesn't really give the killer much. Even if you do run into NOED you just have to escape instead of deciding to remain in the match for selfish reasons.
If there's 4 survivors with 3 of them near a gate, then that's sound logic.
Doesn't happen enough for people like me to have my opinion on changing it to be less infuriating in more situations. You can tweak a perk without destroying the core of it.
-
Wait. When was cross-play added?
I'm on Xbox and I haven't heard anything about it.
-
People have their personal biases, and in a game like Dead by Daylight where there are two sides, who are essentially playing a different game each, you're going to get a lot of ideological clashes.
Some of us can just enjoy the game for what it is.
Some of us can leave our biases at the door and look at both sides.
Unfortunately you make a post about anything here and more likely than not someone from the opposing opinion will simply appear from out of the woodwork to assure you that you're wrong and just need to "git gud". It seems like in an age of near-total internet anonymity we forget that we're all actual people and not some AI. In 2020 for any future historians for when the robots take over.
-
I'd recommend starting with David King for his perks Dead Hard and We're Gonna Live Forever for bloodpoint gain and survival in a chase. Claudette in her default outfits is also a fantastic option to learn stealth and I also highly recommend her perks Botany Knowledge and Self-Care. Both these characters are base game (assuming Lullaby of the Dark is still a free DLC.......) and have their own Archives quests.
Dwight also has some useful perks with Bond being one of the best survivor Aura reading perks in the game, useful to track teammates, and Prove Thyself useful for generators and bloodpoints.
As for killers, it's all down to personal playstyle if you want to be a relentless hunter or an unseen predator. Good perks to look out for though are A Nurse's Calling (especially for stealth killers!), BBq and Chilli, Pop Goes the Weasel and Save the Best for Last.
Surveillance and Dying Light are guilty pleasure perks of mine though.
If you want to be more in the open, then Doctor is great for information, shutting down loops and anti-stealth. Hillbilly is also very high mobility and has a base instant-down. I personally hate how he has so much in one button press, but hey. He's very effective. Trapper is also a very good first killer as his bear traps are relatively easy to manage, provide information and damage, and he has a lot of the standard kit. 32m Terror radius, 4.6m/s movement (or commonly referred to as 115% movement, as in based on survivor movement), large size and a basic weapon.
For more of a stealth approach, Wraith is probably the best one to learn on. Ghostface is probably the most powerful, and in a way the simplest, but is also DLC. I personally prefer Pig, but I'm a SAW fanatic, and can put up with some of her faults. Wraith and GF are more forgiving and better to learn on for stealth killers.
-
Difference between "can't find" and "won't do".
With Archives also relying on using certain perks, maybe I'm already full of OTHER perks. So, I have an Archives perk, an exhaustion perk, a healing perk (generally Self Care) and Spine Chill because knowing when the killer is near and looking for me is really helpful. 4 Perks. No room for Small Game. I play solo, don't always have a med-kit and would also like my kit to last for more than one heal.
Every perk and ability that gives you Exposed has a warning. Except two. NoED and Devour Hope. One of them has requirements from the killer. The most powerful status effect in the game with ZERO WARNING and zero effort.
All I have ever wanted for NoED is a simple quality of life that would make it more tolerable for survivors, yet keeping it's power for killers: Give me the warning WHEN ENDGAME TRIGGERS, not on first hit. Killers still get their little power boost, but survivors have more than 20 nanoseconds to figure out that it's active.

Huh, Save The Best For Last is useless untill you reach 6 stacks at least, so I don't know what's your point.
STBFL can help speed up your chases throughout the whole game. Yes, you need stacks, but it has an effect from the start and lasts throughout the game.
Not the best example, but also kind of besides the point. I'd prefer to have a perk that lasts me the entire game, outside of hexes, than one that is a single use or endgame reliant.

Yup that's a Billy game. Unlimited instadowns and can traverse the map in seconds, often able to instadown survivors back to back but many run NOED because why not? and somehow you're meant to find time to do the totems.
This is how killer mains want every killer to be, yet they don't want NOED changing and they want totems better hidden.
Funny thing is that you could replace Insta-saw Billy with Tier III reliant Myers, and that'd be another 50% of games that I have a problem with! The only difference is that the games go on for five times as long with the same result. Sometimes we even get all the generators done first!
If it's on someone like Trapper, I get it. He's slow, has his own set-up and his best strategy is exploitable, that being force the 3-gen. Then again, Trapper's about the only killer I'm fine with NoED on and even then it still feels incredibly cheap. Clown too, but then again, if you're the type to play both Clown and NoED, then you might have some sort of mental instability or an over-enthusiasm for the From Software games.
For some reason though, it always feels like the scummiest thing on Hillbilly, Leatherface, Ghostface and Myers. Maybe it's because they all have instant-downs build into their base kit and are easily obtainable.
No I'm not counting Oni here, because nobody plays him on console for any one else who tries to argue with me here.

It is very unfortunate indeed.
I don't mind dialogue, discussions, or people disagreeing (or even agreeing) with me. Hell, I play Devil's Advocate sometimes, too, because I think looking at some topics from various angles was important. I even did that for the Rift -- which I despise a lot (and still do).
But this isn't making me angry or annoyed. It's just making me sad at this point. Even sadder that he's getting upvotes, to be honest. People apparently actually think that holding people hostage like that is okay.
I get leaving someone to bleed out, and being a little nasty like with Pig's RBTs. None of that is holding the game hostage. Annoying? Oh yes, definitely, but it's only a few minutes and not holding the game hostage. There's light at the end of the tunnel.
But to say I can have someone intentionally keep me in a match indefinitely, where the only out is probably to DC, and that somehow makes me entitled? Big oof.
Maybe if the phrases "git gud" and it's many variations, "entitled" and "just a survivor/killer main" were all bannable offences, or just eradicated, then civil discussion would raise supreme, and people who spam the same garbage, useless points would be silenced out of natural social exiling.
Then again, I'm not a mod, and I've been put under restrictions because some people can't take it when you swing back at them.
-

We do have an anti-sabotage perk. If you even suspect the survivors of bringing a Sabo-game, then use it. I'm sure that the devs would like to see this perk get SOME use after all.

How did the killer get you? Should've been gone before they were able to chase you. Bad maps?
My best example for NoED being the worst functional killer perk to exist is one particlular Yamaoka Billy match. He only chainsawed, only got me once, closed hatch, I got gate and he had NoED. Never swung his mallet otherwise.
Never had a chance to do bones as he was everywhere and I am the best kind of Blendette. I DESERVED my escape for how well I did, but no. He had to have NoED with Insta-saw. All for his precious 4k.
And people wonder why I hate Billy.

I dont use noed.
But lets suppose we look at the two die and two get out scenario. I have been ingame where the only two kills, or one kill even, that the killer got were from NOED.
If those are the only two kills they got then so be it. Rare do i see noed taking down the whole team. At higher ranks we clean totems when we see them. I clean all totems i see.
I cleanse all the totems that I see too where possible. However, there are two words within both of our statements that I have to point out here: "I SEE". As in we can't always get all 5 because other people get them, or we can't find some of them.
I was a Rank 3 before the last reset, so I know how to play at a high level, and I can safely say that you won't get all the totems 100% of the time.
@rephaim said:
Noed is fine. The only reason survivors say it's op is because they stuck around waiting to tbag. Or just didn't leave just to troll in some way. Just do gens and totems for extra bp if you see them. Quit trying to bring the team down by being a lazy immersive Claudette or a meg that wants to loop all day or a Dwight or Jane that wants to locker troll. 99 all gates if you want to go for a hook save.
Not all of us are that toxic or lazy. I'm a stealthy Claudette who does the objective and a Yui who runs the killer when needed.
I've been killed by NoED when the killer doesn't deserve it, so yes I am going to say that the perk is not fine. And before you ask, I did bones. Just not the one that mattered apparently. Kind of hard when they're near invisible.

Pig is the most versatile killer. She may not excel at anything, but good killer fundamentals and good killer instincts will carry you extremely far with Pig. Since she can do a bit of everything she's well versed and can be used at any rank to great effect with just a little practice. Yet most people call her low tier because all they see is a killer who is Low Tier and RNG dependent because they have had bad experiences with her or that's what people tell them without ever truely trying.
Not the most versatile, but more than people give her credit for. I think that a lot of people also forget that her RBT is not a killing tool. And a guessing game, rather than random chance.
She lacks early map pressure due to her slower crouch speed and has nothing to help in a chase, but her dash really helps get that first hit.

Noed isn't really free though as you have to make sure that a dull totem lasts untill the endgame. If the killer can't do that, then they wasted the perk slot.
People mainly say free since the killer is free from putting in effort. As for defending a dull totem, then it's a dead giveaway that you are running NoED. Free information to the survivors.
-
DS - not if used correctly. Actually used against campers/tunnellers properly.
Adrenaline - Small temporary boost. Rewards staying alive and punishes greedy killers closing hatch.
Unbreakable - Killer left you. Their loss.
Borrowed Time - CAN be abused, but still useful anti-camper perk. Abusable too since it relies on terror radius.
Spine Chill - Stealth killers, genius. Try spotting a cloaked Wraith at 20m with terrain. No audio notification.
Sprint Burst - Walk everywhere for a 3 second boost that you can still get hit in.
Dead Hard - Smaller than you think and works even less.
Balanced Landing - 3 second boost, and killers have zero effect from heights. Find a high point in half the maps.
Self-Care - Play solo in anything below red. Nobody heals you. It's an insurance policy.
Boil Over - Can be used to a killer's advantage and you're going to get one escape in a hundred games instead of a thousand.
Iron Will - Maybe I'm a little sick of hearing Jane's thirsty moans.
Breakdown - 2 uses. Nobody runs it. You'll get your hook back anyway.
Deliverance - One use only . With conditions. Leaves you broken after.
Hope - Used for an Archives challenge. Terrible perk.
Inner Strength - Leaves you vulnerable with maximum 5 uses.
Flip-Flop - Terrible perk. Relies on bad killer play.
Now. NoED
NoED free kills - You can't win a chase normally, so here's a free hidden Exposed effect and a movement speed buff for free.
Rewards failure - No requirements on your end as killer. Just be bad and get to endgame.
Cleansing totems - Can't always find them! Can't exactly use Small Game when I'm limited with Archives for perk slots either.
-
Ok. This is all provided that a survivor runs IN A STRAIGHT LINE. Name me ONE map where they can do all this.
You also have not accounted for the speed boost that is obtained by Bloodlust.
