  • Not every killer has an alternate method of attack, and it'd be nice to see SOME killers use their basic attack once in a while.

  • Not play that much killer to keep them in green ranks for killer, have two spare accounts since Xbox messed up making them my Xbox Live accounts, rename them for free because first change, then have two accounts in brown.

Play whatever I find enjoyable and strong on main at green, play literally anything I can in brown simply because.

  • Same. I don't get paid enough to put up with all this.

  • Nea isn't the Entity

Australia doesn't exist and anyone who says they're an Australian are all paid actors

The planets and sun in the Milky Way galaxy all revolve around the planet Earth

Rome WAS built in a day

    Vaccines cause autism

Anthem was Game of the Year at launch

Lootboxes are not gambling and their microtransactions are eithical

    The Earth is flat

    Video games cause violence

Clown is the strongest killer in the game

  • A lot of the killers need some sort of buffs.

When your character at the "centre of balance" is consistently top 3 for power amongs the community, then you have a problem with 90% of your roster.

  • Depends on the type of killer you want to play. Nurse's Calling is a great perk, but kinda bad on Doctor. WAY better on the stealthy killers.

BBq & Chili is a great universal perk. More bloodpoints and aura readings.

Pop Goes the Weasel is pretty good too, if you can get back to a generator.

Surveillance to me is such an underrated perk, since it can give you a lot of information.

Hex: Ruin can still be devistating if used correctly and despite what a majority of people on the forums will tell you.

Dying Light is also one of those underrated perks to me, as it can really slow a team.

  • As someone who plays Yui as one of my two main survivors, I have no idea what you're on about. It might actually be your headphone volume in combination of the particular note that Yui screams has a certain way of messing with your headphones, similar to how a small child's screaming pierces all music no matter how high you have the volume.

I'm also on Xbox, so that might have something to do with it. Might be different for other platforms.

While that would be a nice buff I still think that a couple of hardish skill checks would make it better or just one skill check kinda like overcharge that way you can't just go up to any trap and be like ooh disarm now it's useless unless you go and rearm it which wastes a ton of time

Yeah, but what's the consequence if they fail if it's a disarm? Trapper's traps are already random enough with trying to take one off.

  • Survivor pips are just that easy. I'll admit it.

Somehow I used to struggle to retain purple, and that was playing well. By that I mean playing better than a majority of the current potato crop. I've only improved since then and matchmaking changed. If I black-pip then I've had a bad game. If I DE-pip, then I have been instantly camped or tunnelled out of the match.

Killers on the other hand, have it way harder. This is why I tend to keep at yellow/green ranks for killer. They are also way more fun especially against solos as someone well versed in Pig.

  • Better one would simply be, or from my perspective, would be to just have all of his bear traps activated at the start of the game.

This gives him the early map pressure that he lacks in most games, and can even provide information if/when survivors deactivate them. Now would probably be the best time to do it too now that Sabotage now no longer affects the bear traps.

  • Not all of us do. SOME of us try to remain neutral and unbiased since we play both sides.

Unfortunately in a game like Dead by Daylight, where we have two separate sides playing completely different games, all demanding changes for their side. Killers want "muh fehr keh" pretty much every game while survivors for the majority just want to have a bit of fun with certain elements of the killer base starting to force them into perks and strategies.

With camping and tunnelling legitimised by the developers, all that some of us can do is simply use the perks that stop the killers from doing this for the most part. They find it works really well against everyone, then normal killers have to go up against these strats. The community is putting itself into it's own death-spiral, but most of them are too biased into one side to admit anything.

Stop lying and saying that DH/DS/BT nerfs are for "balance" when you do it THIS much or while camping and tunnelling can go so unpunished. Survivors can also stop abusing certain mechanics when unprovoked. You all know what I'm talking about.

We are forcing this all upon ourselves, and if you say that I'm belonging to one side, or just saying that I'm "just wrong" then you have proven my point.

  • It literally all depends on the killer.

If they tunnel/camp and just go out of their way to annoy me, then no. I won't have fun. If they are respectful and still kill me simply because they are better than me, then sure. I'm probably going to have fun.

  • My problem with Legion is literally their entire core mechanic: Deep Wounds and Feral Frenzy.

Legion is only good against a grouped-up survivor pack for initial damage spread. Once they know you're playing Legion, they'll spread out so they can't all get Deep Wounded. He can't down you with his power, no matter WHAT iteration we're up to since their launch (posting at 3.5.0/3.6.0).

At a fundamental level, their power is not that good and it never will be. Even then, you can't make it a 4v4 because you'll have to tee up 4 Legion players, and drastically change how their hits work in comparison to every other killer.

For him to get a full rework, similar to Freddy and Doctor, then there are going to have to be some VERY serious changes that are closer to Freddy's entire core reworking than Doctor's more simple modifications. Simple as that.

  • And people why I don't run items and even use Self-Care.

Call me bad for using it all you want, but a med-kit has a limited amount of charges and can be done in by Franklin's. I got to red doing it. Can't be THAT bad.

  • I only really aim for "good" rather than "great" since it feels like quite often on console it's basically flipping a 3-sided coin. I have an equal chance of it being good, great or a fail.

There's no simply practising or learning when you're playing on a dice-roll. Now, if anyone has a great tutorial for me to hit greats 100% of the time, then please, by all means, let me know. I've been trying for over a year now.

  • Honestly, it'd be either Freddy or Hillbilly since I don't have to try anywhere near as hard with them to do well. I do love my Pig, but jeeeeeeeez, conceding 2 generators before seeing a survivor SUCKS. And that was on Haddonfield!

Hillbilly and Freddy both have such strong mobility options that I don't have to worry as much about tracking, and the power to end chases easily. Hammer Billy isn't even something to be scorned or snubbed either. It's actually WAY more effective than anybody will admit AND gets you chaser!

  • For me, there's a majority of killers that need BUFFS. Small one's admittedly, but buffs still.

Toolboxes are indeed getting a nerf, and a well deserved one.

Insta-saw for both the Saw Bois has got to go though.

It's no longer about nerfing specific things, but let's start to buff weaker parts. Starting with every killer not associated with the "Top 5" of killers: Spirit, Nurse, Hillbilly, Freddy and Doctor.

  • High ping? HIGH PING? 80 IS CONSIDERED HIGH FOR ALL THAT?

I'll come back and play while I can, but as soon as I see those servers reactivated, they get 3 games to impress me.

Yes, but he's asking if it's supposed to do that, which it's not.

It's an odd bug that sometimes happens, but I believe it started around Ruins rework due to how Ruin works currently. I could be wrong though, it could just be a small visual thing that's happening from time to time with the aura reading on The Generators.

It's how it's always worked for me. The regression ends naturally and the aura goes from white to red. Survivors STOPPING regression turns it yellow.

  • It only shows the aura while the generator is regressing. If it goes back to zero, then the perk effect goes away.

You do also have the passive of extra gen repair noise, so a good set of headphones is advised.

  • Most people would do something to affect the traps or make Ruleset 2 base, but to me those areas are fine, and Ruleset 2 would actually be harmful to you.

Instead, I'd focus on her more consistent areas and make them better: her stealth and her ambush.

Ghostface has ZERO movement penalty when he is crouched, so why should Piggy?

I'd also change the timing of her roar to be at the start of the dash. This will make it so that it is a true jumpscare and half the time you'll hear the roar only after the blade is lodged into your spinal column.

A majority of her add-ons need total reworking, especially those affecting the skill checks of boxes.

Now, as for Ruleset No. 2, I see it being more harmful than helpful. Yes, there are those survivors who will run off to look for a box, but I see higher ranks ignoring it and going straight for a generator. The LAST thing that I want as Pig is for a generator to be worked on ny someone with a trap. Then again, I don't trap tunnel because it's a terrible playstyle.

It seems very useful to me to hangman's Trick in PTB, but I lose a lot the survivors in the loops trying to use the ambush, besides she is so small that when I duck practically I can't see anything 🤣

I'm on PC in rank 6 as killer and rank 16 as a survivor

That explains a lot. I'm a console Pig. She seems to be slightly stronger here. I'm also a lower ranked killer than you, but I have devoted possibly a little too much time to Pig.

I do also have to recommend using very expensive headphones with Surveillance. It really does help.

What about dome hitboxes on a foreign server for Xbox Australia? Think you neglect that existence.

That's a dedicated server issue, and it's hit Xbox users harder than any other platform. Not just us in Kangaroo Land.

  • @Mastropiero said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1113286#Comment_1113286

Thanks, I will take your advice, but I think the only good thing about the killer is the perk that in the PTB will now work to see the aura of people near the hook

Hangman's Trick still doesn't seem all that impressive on the PTB and I say that Surveillance is one of the most underrated perks in the game, and not many people expect it.

If you know how to use Pig and either play Dash add-ons or mix Ambush and normal attacks, then she can be quite terrifying.

What rank and platform are you on btdubbbz?

  • Pig is a very different killer to the rest of the stealth roster. She's the closest thing to being a stealth pressure killer.

No joke, but her teachable Surveillance is actually a huge help. Not because of it's aura reading, but it's secondary effect of you can hear generator repairs louder. Combine this with her Ambush ability too to easily get that first hit.

Still, you just have to play stealth, be careful with your traps, leave trapped test subjects largely alone (Do NOT tunnel them!) but down them if they run into you. Focus in generators, and don't hunt away from them. Also kind of an obvious one, but seriously aim for the 3-gen where possible.

  • They're both equal.

Balanced Landing has the stronger effect, with it's cancelling of the landing effect, it's use is extremely limited on a lot of maps. There aren't many places to drop on quite a few maps.

Lithe is easier to pull off, and less obvious, but it also comes with the complication of giving off a noise notification to the killer without combining effects with a other perk.

Both have upsides, both have drawbacks. If Lithe had the added effect of not giving off that noise notification to make it more similar to Balanced, then I believe it would surpass it.

  • Least? Hag. All the Hags I verse, except maybe one just camp with traps and it's just SO ANNOYING.

As for my favourite, it's actually Pig. Maybe it's because I like to torment the lesser of my kin, but hey. It's nice to see others giving her a go, even if I know exactly how to counter her.

  • Huntress shouldn't be THAT high. With how hard she is to aim, she should be down next to Nurse.

I also hate how everyone puts Hag up so high. She is not a good killer if her entire character revolved around proxy-camping someone on hook.

I'd personally bump Freddy up to the top of A-tier, and slide Hillbilly and Doctor down one space. Freddy is stronger than Doc and Billy to me.

Overall, fairly decent list. Probably would have put Deathslinger as "Unrated" rather than new.

  • Well, people have already complained about the matchmaking for a while now, and the devs have said that they're going to be changing the system.

As for your build though, 2 pink add-ons is kind of hard to go against. And I'd swap Spies for Whispers. More thematic and fantastic with Static Blast.

  • Yeah, but I still see him as more powerful. He has more map pressure that doesn't require effort.

As Pig most of the pressure comes from the mid-game when you have already downed people. Billy has it instantly and permanently.

Lol you act like these things didnt happen previously, with laggy killers.

But yes, blame dedicated servers (which the community asked for incessantly) for everything.

One occasional laggy killer verses EVERY SING GAME.

One of theseI can move past.

For the last time, it's not hitboxes. Tell Xbone players to stop playing on Burger King Wi-Fi.

What even is a Burger King?

And it's NOT our internets. It is literally the dedicated servers. I've had perfect games at 400 ping before servers, choppy and slowed ones at 60-80 with servers. Same internet.

Every time a new platform has been switched to the servers, they have reported worse issues every time or to summarize:

PC players: "we're having problems with dedicated servers"

PS4 players: "we're having slightly worse problems"

Xbox players: "game is literally unplayable"

  • I'd swap Pig and Billy. I may hate him, but he's stronger than Pig.

I don't believe that Wraith should be so high. Maybe I've just versed too many invisible cu-........ face-campers.

Freddy is also equal or possibly even surpasses Spirit for me. Depends on the player for surpass. Close to equal at least.

Demo is a weird one though, as I don't face enough of them to tell.

I'm not going to give you too much slack, since it is your opinion and the fact that is console, but compared to PC, that list is literally 100% "incorrect" compared to meta on PC.

For a good while, or at least for me on Xbox and purple at the time, but Billy was our Nurse. Overplayed and overperforming. It's calmed down now, but still gives me nightmares.

Agree to disagree. When your power is literally "proxy-camp to win" then your power is essentially garbage. Yes this is what happens on console.

When I can verse Hags as a whole who don't do this, then I might gain a modicum of respect for them.

Nobody uses her power to shut down loops, gather information or apply pressure. They place traps at your feet on hook, and in front of a totem. Never anywhere else.

Might just be all the Hags I've versed, but none of them are proving me wrong.

Same happened to one of my brothers. Consider yourself lucky that you have not experienced the torture in games that some of us have.

  • Well, Darksiders: Genesis dropped on Valentine's Day and Destiny still has some grind, and with DOOM Eternal next month, I'm set!

But, yeah. Had to quit playing this game because dedicated servers broke everything. Hitboxes wider than a screaming Karen's gaping maw, time delays longer than a drunkard's situational recognition and more jumps in placement than an average Dragonball Z fight scene.

  • I'd swap Pig and Hillbilly.

Wraith is too high for me.

Freddy is top of A-tier if not equal to Spirit.

If more Hag players used their traps for map pressure or shutting down loops, then maybe people would place her higher.

My Xbox gold had run out, and with Gamepass your first month includes gold and is a dollar so... Figured might aswell. I use to play Warframe on xbox ALOT. My actual ingame playtime and not being afk on warframe is over 3000 hours. Im kinda really behind on collecting everything because DBD entered my life, but... I still like to hop on every now and then to screw around.

I'm off DbD until Dedicated Servers are fixed, but if you've got a low-ranked on Xbox, MidKnight and Sausag are good ones to add. They're my low ranked ones.

Mostly just hop on Xbox for when I feel like playing Warframe. Thats one game I always prefered a controller for, and although I downloaded it on my PC and tried that out...all my stuff is on Xbox, so I just stick to that. Also bought gamepass last week, so new stuff to try on that, lol.

I haven't played much of it. Still only have Excalibur. Don't have Gamepass as my Warhammer 40k addiction and paying more than the majority for 3 people using two Xbox's kinda doesn't make me want to pay for another subscription.

If you can hit the saw reliably... Im gonna prefer a saw hit over a hammer hit. But yeah, trying to control the saw using a controller was tricky. Also seemed like the map I was playing on (Oni's map) was way darker than what Im use to on PC, so I kept having a hard time keeping survivors in my sight. Still got the 4k, cuz...was on a rank 20 account but it was just a miserable experience. Im sure if I played more Id adapt to the controller in much the same way I did with other games (Originally played Overwatch on Xbox before swapping to PC), but I dont really have the motivation to screw around on xbox anymore.

Don't with Dedicated Servers at the moment. They have destroyed the game for me.

That being said, though, if you want to catch up on Xbox, my names are Reaper Andross, Silent Sausag (it's a Siege joke) and MidKnight. Just find one of them

Wow, a killer that can keep up with gen rushing On most maps and punish out position survivors and can easily be forced to only using a m1 in most loops. But here we are.. Survivors crying once again about a killer.. The game already favors them from ruin nerf, so why not nerf another viable killer to s**t? Bet you the next killer survivors cry about next is Oni..

Man this game has really turned to trash, thanks dev team!

Wow! An original comment from someone who obviously hasn't read the full post! Didn't even see the date posted to know that it was BEFORE the Ruin rework. But here we are...... another person who can't read a post..... These forums are already a nightmare with the amount of personal bias going around.

Man these forums have really turned to trash. Thanks community!

  • We have bigger concerns, like Xbox survivor literally being harder than a PC player with Object of Obsession and No Mither.

No joke, I literally cannot play with these lag-jumps and broken hitboxes.

They havent changed chaser emblem since then. I know the requirements for Iri devout was changed and gatekeeper was recently changed, but neither wouldve made a difference here.

As far as the Billy game... I actually didnt slug at all. They went straight from the ground to a hook, I just kept running into the next guy like instantly, lol. I remember hooking one guy, planning on zooming across the map and immediately spotting my next target 10 ft away instead of a 10 second chase, lol.

Yeah, it was a "they ran at you" case it seemed, thus giving you only 4 chases that you one-shot for 3 of them.

  • @LordGlint said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1109916#Comment_1109916

The Bubba game I cant remember off the top of my head. The Billy game was a total of 2 hammer hits and 3 saws. Didnt camp anyone, just had a tendency of instantly finding and downing the would be rescuer.

The Freddy game was actually about 1 week before his rework but I remember it well. game lasted roughly 2 minutes with me jugging the whole team. They managed to rescue the first guy that I hooked, but no one got any further than that. 3 dead on first hooks while the 4th being his 2nd hook.

no one was broken in either game. As you can tell from the gatekeeper emblems...these guys werent trying to rush gens while injured but were on fullblown recovery mode the entire time. They were feeling the pressure I was dealing.

About getting to purple and red... I do that all the time when I feel like it. I like to play Myers and Legion as well, and when I go for a sneaky Myers approach as opposed to a 1 shot everyone approach...I rank up easier although the games tend to be closer. I typically dont run infinite T3 Myers or anything like that, lol.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/306/59NLVI3VFR02.jpg

This is an example of a pissed off team right after the ruin change, lol.

Ok, so the Hillbilly game does sound like bit of a slug-fest there, with a total of what I can see as basically 5 downs at most, since there was not mention of grabs. And Freddy should have been at least Silver by what you have said, but if this was before the rework, then numbers for emblems might have been different since it was months ago.

  • NoED is a perk that a lot of killers lean on to in order to compensate for a lack of skill, just like the old Hex: Ruin. New Ruin forces you to actually go and work for your kills and engage with survivors to get a reward from the perk.

As for Self-Care, just no. It's not THAT much different. It's also a necessary evil for solo players.

  • Can they make the game playable before we start complaining about console PTB's or m&kb support? Just got the new Dedicated Servers on Xbox and I literally cannot play at all due to the jumps in location, extremely questionable hitboxes and delayed vaults.

    @LordGlint said:

Would be nice if kb/m support would hit console. Feel like that would really do wonders for killer players there. I tried playing DBD on xbox last week and my god...I couldnt stand playing killer on a controller, lol. Im use to playing red ranks on PC, but playing as a fresh rank 20 Billy on console...-chills-

You also now understand why I say what I do about Hillbilly and his saw, huh? I use his hammer more for several reasons. This is one of them.

Also a lot of people say that a controller is way better for survivor. I believe them.

I get where you're coming from. But it's silly to penalize killers for using their killers power.

That's why I omitted Plague from that list I mentioned. She is the anomaly here since her power is kind of a Catch 22 of the emblem system.

I'll even admit that I play Hammer Billy, or I did before the recent Xbox Dedicated Servers made me basically quit the game, not just because I hate the chainsaw, but for ranking and for my own personal enjoyment. I'll still use the saw more as a bait near a pallet. I even find it quicker for me to double hammer than go for a saw a lot of the time.

I like to bounce around. Played plenty of Legion today too. Just think on a basic level...its kinda dumb that doing TOO good will have the game putting you against the same rank opponites over and over again. If I play a game of Overwatch and spawnkill an entire team of bronze rank players all game, the game quickly deems I shouldnt be that rank and gets me out of there. That doesnt happen in DBD.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/904/S6NRGD4MRUVW.jpg

These are all examples of games where the survivors were absolutely steamrolled. I killed all 4 and kept them off gens like Im suppose to do. The game isnt recognizing this as high lvls of game play.I know I can try to play the system and give survivors more of a chance so I can hit them more, but I shouldnt have to do WORSE in order for the game to say "hes doing great".

Ok. There are a few major things that you're missing within those screenshots. A few questions that I have to ask because you're only giving me a small portion of the game data.

    1. How long were each of the survivors injured, or more to the point, did they heal? Not calling you a camper or tunneller in the slightest. Survivors not healing will affect Chaser.
    2. With Bubba and Hillbilly, how many HEALTHY survivors did you saw? And how many did you hit with your hammer?
    3. How many of them died on hooks other than the 3rd?
    4. Were any of them running perks that make them Broken for a length of time?
    5. How long were some of these chases? Were they longer than they should have been?

Not calling you a bad killer at all, and props for getting to high purple and red in this age of matchmaking, but these are the questions that need to be answered so we get a full picture.

So I'm punished for playing certain killers by your logic.

    ######### fantastic.

Not MY logic. But yes, if you want to play on easy street and do half the work, then you should be rewarded as such. If it was a case of you couldn't even black pip, then I'd admit that there is a problem.

You can still get your double hit and go up with most of these killers. You don't have to mark them as Ghostface, you have a hammer as Bubba and Billy, you don't need to always hit Tier III Evil Within. You choose to.
