@PigMainClaudette yeah I meant decrease charge time. I said it was a change for Amanda's Secret, not Letter.
I said Pig is really good in 'most' loops, her Ambush makes short work of them if they stick around, you can also fake it out to push them away from it etc etc (I'm sure I don't need to list all the plays that make her loop game strong to a Pig main, right?)
And i'm aware that as Pig you should prioritise non trapped survivor's, since I spoke about how the current function of her Jigsaw Box aura ability is commonly abused by obnoxious players. This was a QOL change, not a buff nor a nerf. I'm seeing loads of ideas on here on how to push her in a stronger direction, but no one is addressing the annoying mechanics of one of the most fun killers in DBD. The fact she can hold the game hostage for players in specific situations is ridiculous. The Devs already changed something like this once by making the stairs to basement wider, since Pig was able to hostage people down there until their timer expired.
The letter and secret are two items that I do NOT care for, so I don't pay attention to them. I only use dash add-ons. Occasionally gears.
As for loops, I've started learning the crouch mind-games again as I've taken a break from killer for Archives and poor matchmaking, but I do see he use in her Dash as part of a well-planned mind game. It was more of a "compared to Spirit, Freddy, Doctor, Nurse" kind of loop potential.
It would be nice to see people not tunnel trapped shrvivors and boosting our stats, though.

I agree. I love pig and I want to love GF but I feel other than his TR/RS reduction his power is kinda underwhelming, and like you said there are times pig feels powerless. Both killers definitely need to be revisited.
As a Pig main, I agree with @Seiko300 on the topic of GF's power and the whole crouch speed topic. I think that they should be the same walking speed, while GF can attack normally from crouch and Pig has an extended dash.
Both killers probably need add-on overhauls. GF not so much, as his do have some relative use, but Pig's don't outside of crouch add-ons, Tampered Timer and the Gears add-ons. Amanda's Secret (the pink one) is also useful, but not as much as Wraith's comparitive add-on outside of indoor maps.

I've put as much thought into being a comedian as you have into killers deliberately using NoED as an endgame perk rather than it being simply a crutch for bad killers.
So quite a lot then? Good for you! Time to act on it!
I also said "lack of FAITH in skill". Before the Ruin rework, I used it because I didn't trust myself. Now I do. My matches go just the same.
Maybe try actually arguing against my points rather than trying to demean me with smartass retorts that don't help anyone.

I was unaware that the killer didn't have to do anything when NoED became active and survivors were simply sacrificed instantly.
Very funny. You ever thought about becoming a comedian?

The OP isn't complaining about NoED, but it's increase in use. They accurately place the blame on the devs.
Not really. I see an increase in NoED use as a similar thing to Ruin before it's rework. It's something to lean on to compensate for a lack of skill or lack in faith of one's skill.
The difference is that NoED hands you free kills when it's active.
-
@BenZ0 said:
Imo that would be too strong though. Every % of movementspeed can be devestating in chases, thats why most of the perks that offers that effect just give them temporarely or with a big counterplay "Noed as a totem".
That's why I said 1% per gen. I admit that my idea isn't perfect, but Fire Up NEEDS some sort of additional effect like this.
-
@ThisGuuy83 said:
There is one, but it's not a hex. It's called fired up. Just doesn't give you insta-downs. I just think it needs a slight buff
I'd actually leave Fire Up as is, but add Movement Speed to the list of things that it increases. This would give everyone that isn't Freddy, Nurse, Spirit or Hillbilly some actual pressure over the course of the game.
Maybe have the movement speed buff slightly lower, as an extra almost meter per second could be pretty nuts, especially when combined with STBFL. Maybe if it was a flat 1% per generator for movement, AND 3/3.5/4 to all other actions.
-
@Dehitay said:
An end game totem perk would have to be as strong as NOED to be viable as an end game totem perk. And NOED has made it clear that entitled survivor mains will whine like all hell at a viable end game hex perk.
Concerned survivors, not just mains, bring up issues with NoED like the fact that the killer does NOTHING to earn it's power. If I can to 4 Totems, at least 2 generators AND run the killer only to be killed by NoED, then yes. I'm going to call it a bad perk.
Earn your damn kills. I know I do.
-
You've obviously never played Pig if you think that she's good in loops. She's a worse Spirit when it comes to loops, and by that I mean you CAN mind-game but less effectively and WAY more obviously. As for the auras, just no. Seeing those box auras tells me which hooks to avoid. It tells me how long that a survivor will possibly have to get their RBT off.
GOOD Pigs know not to target people with a trap, unless they're begging for it. It is just something that you learn over time.
There are just so many small things that can be done to make Pig a top-tier killer, but until the devs look at all the requests for Pig love and act on them, then people are going to suggest ways of making her better. It'd be nice to see a non-chase focused, non-instant down killer be within the top tier of power for once.
After all the nerfs that have been introduced too, then simply put we need a lot of improvements to her before we start to look at adding more negatives to her kit.
Also your change for Amanda's Letter is going in the wrong direction. Increasing the charge time is making it take longer to charge up, not less which is what I assume you meant. Or change the word "speed" with "time".

Perhaps so but the current majority of usage I see as Killer is charging at a fellow hooked Survivor while d-strike is active, going down as you unhook them and giving them Borrowed Time, and instead of an even trade, the Killer nets zero.
Another is at exits, active d-etrike users taking protection hits for their teammates to escape knowing the Killer can't stop them from escaping due to d-strike and close proximity to the exit itself.
Admittedly a problem, yes, but there's a lot going on there to balance around. The killer also has the option of simply leaving that DS survivor on the floor as it can be considered punishing a bad play. The only real way that I can see the current perk meta to end is simply a shift in killer playstyle, nullifying the need and effectiveness of these perks.
-
I run it on one of my builds and the only time it activates is if a killer is going out of their way to target me.
-
I've had people message me because I didn't sarifice myself for the slimmest of possibilities that they'd get out.
I COULD go after you against this Spirit who's tunnelled and camped me leaving me on death-hook and has NoED active since none of you did a totem, OR I can deny her the 4k and get out.
I COUND run to your friend in struggle on the literal other side of the LONG AUTOHAVEN map against this Plague with Corrupt Purge active, or I can go out the game since she's already here.
-
DS, BT and all those other survivor perks that killers complain about are FINE. If used as intended. It's just that now killers are starting to take advantage of the devs' generosity when it comes to camping and tunnelling that survivors have now started to retaliate in order to deal with these tactics.
This is a community problem more than it is a game balance problem.

So turn Legion from Legion, into a more M1 killer that can just go fast??
Pretty much. It's clear that the whole "wound MULTIPLE survivors"" thing ins't working, and Plague just outright does it better.
-
Legion is alright. And I'd rather see a Legion than YET ANOTHER Hillbilly with at least Primer Bulb or a Spirit. I know that I'm generally going to die in these situations, but at least I can feel like I did something in a match.
As for re-working Legion, I'd look towards Deathslinger for a rework idea. Make his power shorter, but more lethal. Lose Killer's Instinct, but give him the ability to down Deep Wounded survivors. Basically combine his current rushdown, but make it the only hit. Shorter duration, faster recharge.
-
Adding exit gate/EGC as a trap activation would be nice.
Ambush roar needs changing.
RBT's are FINE. All the related add-ons aren't.
Terror radius should be reverted.
Crouch walk speed needs an increase. At least equal Ghostface or make him as slow us us.
Do NOT make RS.2 base as it will draw survs to the generators.
@Blueberry making Ambush apply Deep Wound would be like Deathslinger's Redeemer; they'll go down if you hit them again. Not a great buff, but hey.
-
Well, I like the idea of NOT BEING SEEN, so buying a neon or bright outfit really doesn't help me and I buy all the DLC outside of Leatherface (hate his playerbase and kit) and Ash (never going to use those perks!) but if they were to go on a mad sale, then I would.
And none of them look that good for Yui. I get the idea, but it doesn't work on me.
-
Pig. People underestimate you, DC when you show any sort of skill, and just don't respect the RBT.
Super fun to just straight up snowball a fight against uncoordinated randoms.

The chances of getting better items in the bloodweb is complete garbage I'm looking for perks like BBQ and even at level 40 I'm still getting stuff like monstrous shrine and bad addons
I've got the same problem on Yui right now. I want to get leve, 3 perks, but keep on getting 1's and 2's for those that I don't care for.
Just grind up and get ALL THE PERKS for that killer, and you'll never have to worry about bad perks again.

As the op said most swf would just run object
I still rate Spine Chill over OoO because you won't get targeted. That and I also play that particular build in solo too.
-
I really like it but I have a brother who disagrees with it's effectiveness by saying "you have eyes, just use them......." and says how you don't know WHERE the killer is, just that they're close and looking at you.
Personally, I find that if I run a perk like Bond, then I can get more information about the locations of everyone, and if I see someone getting chased with Bond, then having Spine Chill and looking in that direction gives me all the warning I need. If I see them, I see them. If Spine Chill is active and I don't then that's where I'm heading.
And it's even good in SWF @Mo4ntus if at least one person is running it. There have been many times where I've called "SPINE CHILL, RUN." right before the killer's been on top of us. No need for Object.

I’ve been levelling up Nurse for her Nurse’s Calling Teachable, is this worth it for Spirit? Is there a particularly strong build on her that I should know about?
If it isn’t too much to ask, is there any particular way to rank up faster and gain more iridesence?
Thankyou for your help.
Nurse's CAN be useful on Spirit, but much prefer it on stealth killers. Most people will also say to run Stridor on Spirit.
As for iridescent shards and rank? Nope. Just playing the game constantly. Oh, and don't straight up camp people. It costs you time AND emblems.
-
Well, I'm on console, so i don't have the flick problem you have, but I play him as intended.
I use my goddam hammer! Unpopular opinion, but it IS your main weapon and the chainsaw is a tool. Most of my chainsaw downs are baiting pallets or accidental snipes.
-
Legion is going to be my next focus of The [Killer] Problem series with "balancing the unbalance-able" since his power is either too strong, or too weak with both iterations that we've had and no amount of number tweaking will change these two states.
I've had an idea on how to change him, and it basically means making him similar to Deathslinger while retaining his chase potential.
The main thing is with his current version is that people can dish out the damage, but they can't kill. Pretty sure that you can basically get Ruthless Killer as Legion without sacrificing anyone based on the amount of stabs that you can pull off.

Sony and Microsoft are very particular with things like this. I think that it has to do with the updates and their frequency that won't allow them to be included.
Believe me though, I'd be nice to have the PTB available on console. Even if it was it's own separate thing on the Xbox store.

Not a huge fan of the indoor maps, but I'm starting to like The Game more as killer over time.

Umm as much as I'm against Keyboard and Mouse coming to console or PC Console crossplay... You're definitely wrong. Both games support Keyboard and Mouse on console and have crossplay. I am always going against PC CoD players and I'll get stomped. But yet I'm a beast if I turn crossplay off and cut out Keyboard and Mouse players. You can tell they have a HUGE advantage. Just wanted to clear that up.
I never play a Call of Duty game, so I don't know OR care about that yearly re-released garbage. The last time I heard anything about Overwatch and M&KB was that it's a bannable offence, but if you have an article or something disproving me, then please do what nobody else has done and link it to me. Ubisoft and R6: Siege have also outright stated that it's a bannable offence for ages now.\
If you're going to try and prove me wrong, you need evidence. Not just saying that I'm wrong.
-
For a useful killer AND perks, then I would have 100% recommended Spirit. People have found Rancor to be a somewhat better Bitter Murmur, Spirit Fury is commonly combined with Enduring for mad chase potential and Hex: Haunted Ground is way better bait than most people realise. Good as the only Hex perk to!
Pig is also one to look at since Surveillance has made a resurgence after the Ruin re-work, Hangman's Trick is apparently now really good and a lot of people like Make Your Choice. She also has some of the best stall game, outside of Slowdown Freddy but doesn't require add-ons to do so. Super fun to play too, but not exactly red-rank viable.
-
Bugged when I face him, intended when I play him.
I've had him about 75% on screen, within the middle 50% of it with no detection. It seems to work just fine for others when I play as him, but eh. I rarely touch him.
-
Archives. Dailies. Splitting time between a couple of different games. Keeping at a lower rank to avoid hit-squads. Multiple accounts because console to go and practice more casually. Not camping/tunnelling/slugging for 4k.

No it does not? You are saying that console players are still stuck using controllers, no? If I am misunderstanding that, please let me know.
I never said it should be disregarded. If that issue exists, it should absolutely be fixed. It's just not relevant to this particular discussion.
We can do both, can we not?
But why should I have to go against M&KB against my will? THAT's what I'm fighting against. People have always had the option of going to PC with a controller. I know that the opposite can be argued, but it's such a huge advantage in a majority of games.
There are just too many issues I see with this change and in the game in general before we add things like M&KB console support. So, let's look over some of them, shall we? Just a quick overview.
Huntress - Broken hitboxes in general. Now add lag issues. Huntress players do fine. Possibly a little worse than PC, but they also get more axe hits than hatchet.
Hillbilly & Oni - Flicks have never been a thing on console. We've had consistent curving instead. Now I have to take a gamble as to which one my opponent is using? I've also said before that I've versed Hillbillies like PC has Nurses and I'm over versing him. This will bring him back in a surge of popularity.
Nurse - Nobody plays her, but those who do at a high level are already extremely oppressive. Full red lobby, except me. One gen done. Corn map too. Has also happened on the Asylum. Only games I can recall.
Deathslinger - No PTB, can't comment. At least he has ironsights and doesn't rely that much on flick-shots since there is no headshot mechanic. He should be fine with a controller anyway.
-
I would instantly pay for Robert Englund Freddy, since he's the one true Freddy. You cannot replace him and you CANNOT change his backstory or try to make him a sympathetic villain.
-
@TAG said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1136487#Comment_1136487
Yes. Yes it does. It allows players to have much more precise control over camera move it, which can be relevant for certain Killers.
Also, what you're describing is a separate issue altogether. kb/m not fixing that specific problem isn't really a strike against adding kb/m.
I don't see a good enough reason to maintaining the status quo compared to the benefit gained.
Again, my solution ALSO gives said benefit while allowing people to have the choice of cross-play. People have said before that cross-play should be an option.
And my problem won't be fixed by M&KB, my problem which is the only problem I've found with a controller with one of these "precision" characters, and should therefore be disregarded. Ok. Sure.
As a player in general, I'm having a hard enough time with poor matchmaking, people abusing their power with overuse of killer powers/camping/tunnelling or general perk abuse like Borrowed Time bodyblocking, lag-switching issues since Dedicated Servers were a nightmare on Xbox and now you want to introduce a new problem for me to face. Let's fix the damn game before we add more issues for people to worry about, shall we?
-
@TAG said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1136461#Comment_1136461
One of them actually fixes a problem, so...
Also, there are platform-based issues with the Nurse that kb/m would go a reasonable distance to solving.
Does it though? Does it fix the problem? I don't think so.
And I don't see how M&KB will fix problems like my lunge not hitting what it should. I don't see how M&KB will fix an issue of holding the charge just that bit too short and teleporting to a wall, rather than past it. All I see your solution doing is enraging a lot of console players, who have always been controller only and banned M&KB users for years now.
My solution merely maintains the status-quo. My solution also opens WILLING console players to go up against M&KB users in the form of PC players.
-
@TAG said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1136436#Comment_1136436
None of those really fix the problem. That's just a "deal with it" kind of answer, which can be applied to facing kb/m (except you have the option to use kb/m as well).
Yes, it is extremely difficult, but I walk into a match knowing that I'm going to have a hard time.
The kb/m solution aims to fix this problem.
So we have two "just deal with it" answers.
You also left out the part where I said my Nurse issues were character based, not platform.
-
@TAG said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1136409#Comment_1136409
What if I want to play Killers that struggle on console because no kb/m? Gotta consider pros/cons and figure out what has the highest benefit.
Your solution doesn't make those killers less of a struggle on console.
Learn? Make a free alternate account to practice on? Change your sensitivity? Not try to get Huntress headshots?
I've been playing a bit of Nurse on a secondary account on Xbox. Yes, it is extremely difficult, but I walk into a match knowing that I'm going to have a hard time. I've had SO MANY times where I should have hit but I didn't and I see that as more of a Nurse lunge issue than a console player issue.
-
I just LOVE getting proxy-camped out by someone who can't take two minutes to think with their head rather than a trap! No no, I don't mind getting tunnelled off hook because you gave me an impossible situation between running and setting off your trap, or crouch walking so slow that you'll be back in time.
Other than that, it's any killer who lrans on a base-kit instant down. Half the chase, but about 1/10th of the fun.
-
@TAG said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1136393#Comment_1136393
That doesn't fix the problem, though. Adding kb/m DOES fix the problem.

And how doesn't my solution fix the problem?

If Billy couldn't hold his chainsaw then he would have to predict exactly where a survivor is going and how long they will take to get there. Not to mention taking away all of his mind game potential.
What you're saying is basically the equivalent of if Huntress couldn't hold a hatchet and had to let it go as soon as she pulled it up.
He's like that because it makes sense considering how different his power is to the other killers you mentioned.
Devs pls don't gut my boy Billy, he's legit one of the most balanced killers in the games current state.
So, Billy would require more skill is wjat you're saying?
He is also different in the sense that he has high mobility, destruction AND and instant-down in his BASE KIT with one button. That is not balance.
Huntress is the most balanced killer in the game.

I'm not sure I follow.
You add cross-play across all platforma. You then say, you pick a platform, you pick your controller type.
PS4 and Xbox use their more traditional controllers, Switch hss the joycons and PC has M&KB.

If the DBD devs were willing to balance separately, they would have done so by now. KB/M is just an easier, safer way to actually balance the console versions a little better.
So is adding cross-play. Then you don"t have to worry about M&KB on console.

Survivors also have an advantage on console on general, since killers can't turn as fast and there are constant frame drops killer side. That 360 BS doesn't work nearly as much on PC as it does on console. I find it funny that you "like" that some killers barely function on console due to the limitations of a controller. Hilariously, the ones that don't function are the strongest in the game with proper control (huntress and nurse).
"Invasion of your space"? What? I don't get what you mean by that. Any game that is on both PC and console should have KB and M support. The fact remains that balancing is easier when everyone has access to the same control type. This kind of crap is why PC players hate when a PvP game gets ported to consoles because if the devs aren't competent, this invariably ends up affecting the PC side negatively as they try to compensate for consoles being a lesser platform control wise.
And I don't know what you mean about not relying on meta builds. My roommate plays on PS4 and 2 out of every 4 survivors she faces have the same build. Console survivors and PC ones aren't any different build wise, console survivors just face handicapped killers. And it sounds like people like you want to keep it that way. I hope KB and M support goes to console. Easy mode console survivors need a reality check.
I said that I like other killers being viable because of console, not others being unplayable. 360's don't work THAT much at higher ranks. You can also balance console and PC separately.
Invasion of my space is that console is just the place for controllers, more casual and keeping a level playig field since controllers aren't as likely to be super sensitive.
Console is also not easy mode, killers are not handicapped, and I have zero clue where you got that idea from. Maybe it is on PS4, but not Xbox. Console has it's own issues, so don't come at me with that PC elitist attitude. It's statements like yours that make me want to continue keepig console and PC separate. If you're that desparate for M&KB on console, then just get a PC with cross-play.
I was able to climb to red last season only using one meta perk on one of two builds. This means that the "meta build" isn't exactly nessecary.
-
I play Pig for a majority of my killer time, but I switch it up for dalilies and Archives. Sometimes I'll just play a different killer just because.
Picked up Trapper for the first Archives and found him not horrible. Doctor for the fun of it. Hillbilly and Spirit because they are widely considered the most powerful on console and I wanted to see what the hype was, and to prove all the Hillbilly apologists that his hammer is viable. And Freddy because I love his rework.
Pig is still my favourite. Oink oink, motherfocker.

You know Overwatch and Call of Duty both have KBM support on console. f anything Dead by Daylight is the best game to enable this support on because of its casual environment allowing once nonplayable killers to be played again.
This is news to me, not that I play Overwatch anymore and despise CoD multiplayer. Last time I heard, it was still a bannable offense.
And it's also as I originally said. Different killers are viable on console and I like it that way. It also means thatI don't have to fall back in the meta survivor build.
-
I'm very traditional with something like this, since I've been playing console games for almost 18 years now, all starting with Crash Team Racing on the original Playstation. I play console because I don't want to play M&KB, and I like the feel of a controller. It's also going to have an overflow effect if some games start to have it as a feature.
It will start with DbD, then CoD players will complain and it gets enabled on there, it continues to something like Overwatch with a more competitive scene and then even Rainbow Six: Siege where they are highly competitive, and controller vs. M&KB gameplay is a very different story. Console as a whole is slower and more methodical in Siege, compared to the twitchy headshot focused gameplay of PC.
Consoles don't have THAT much going for them compared to PC, and it almost feels like an invasion of our space. Yes, there are controllers for PC, but they are also generally 3rd party and basically unlicensed. I can't use my Microsoft wireless Xbox One controller on my PC.
I also like that there is a slightly different meta between PC and Console. There are enough Hillbillies to the point that he is our Nurse, especially when I first hit Purple ranks. Some killers are more viable on console, some are far worse. There are also good and oppressive Huntress and Nurse players on console, but they are more rare, and after versing them I'm fine with them staying that rare.
-
You know what? One thing has always confused me more about Hillbilly and his power more than most others: Why is HE the only killer allowed to hold his power the way he can? And, yes, I know that Leatherface can too, but he's a joke to play at this point. Still a point for both of them.
Doctor? Loses ALL charge if the button is released. Pig? Dash meter resets. Freddy? Teleport cancelled AND goes on cooldown. Plague? Uses power, but to a lesser extent.
Nurse's basekit changes also weren't THAT bad. If Hillbilly gets loads of stronger add-ons, but a slightly lessened base-kit, it'll simply drive away all those who are on a bandwagon. Stuff like this happens all the time. It's also JUST happened with Warhammer 40k and the Iron Hands faction. People will jump ship as soon as there's a possibly negative change, but those people are only using that character/faction simply because it is powerful.
Why don't we just reserve judgement until we actually see any changes to the character.
-
THOSE LITTLE FOCKERS!
I didn't have one of the Tamagotchi branded ones, but one of the cheap knock-offs. They were interesting. Wasted quite a bit of time on one of them.
-
Hag, Hillbilly and Bubba.
Hags just camp with their "defensive" kit, and most of the saw-boys rely a little too heavily on their saws for my liking.
