First off I shouldn’t need a perk to see how many totem are left, that should just be a counter that is always there. Secondly there is no room for small game or detectives in my build. I have a specific build I go for my specific play style and small game/detectives don’t give me enough to warrant replacing one of my perks. I run perk to change my playstyle to have more fun with the game, I should have to run one specific perk every game because a killer could be running an op unfair perk.

Sorry to say it but uhhh.....Survivors like you are why I have such an easy time playing this game. You do it to yourselves. And you're so predictable. Pride, arrogance, greed, the 7 deadly sins are easy to spot and manipulate in this game, everyone shows their vice. And people like you are a toss up between pride and greed. I can get you to do silly things like try to save someone who's already dead, or take a hit for someone I had no intention of killing, or hand your own team mates over to me in order to save yourself. Because you're not willing to change, all I have to do is change even a little bit.....and people like you lose their minds. Doesn't matter if its NoED, or Franklins, or Iron Maiden, or a tricked tampered timer on a bear trap. You play for yourself, and only yourself and are unwilling to change. Not only that, you have a specific set of perks you crutch.....which I can bet, I probably run a counter to in at least one of my builds. This mindset you have is always going to put you at a disadvantage. Because you can't adapt. And if you can't adapt....you can just expect the killer to keep digging that knife in deeper until you either depip, or actually try to survive.

But again you don't have to take my advice and I'd prefer you not. Easy prey is easy prey.

But like even with spine chill. I just start walking side ways to the area. And forget out positioning. I get to pick the best position to come in from. Especially add-on with the zero terror radius + zero red stain for 6 seconds after I uncloak.

You're assuming you know they have spinechill....

  • @fr0sty1223 said:

At the very least make it spawn like a normal hex so you don’t have to cleanse every totem in order to get rid of it before egc. Just played a game against a bubba who was actually terrible with the killer, he was a rank 20 and I was able to loop him for 3 gens because he refused to give up the chase and when we finally got all the gens done he gets a completely undeserved 3 k because NOED exists. Before you guys say to do bones we did 4 totems but the 5th was so hidden and we can’t just ignore gens all game to only do the totems so he still got it. This perk needs to be changed.

I would introduce you to the perk Small game, or detectives hunch....but you'd probably find an excuse not to use them for your own benefit.....

This nerf just makes the Twins feel awful to play without actually solving their problems.

Where is the anti-camping failsafe that people like Otz and myself have been vouching for? Victor can be put under a hook and someone hooked on top of him, but apparently not getting DS'd for downing someone is too much to ask.

Meanwhlie you're given a swirlie by the BHVR development team for daring to down an injured person with a power that can only track blood not scratchmarks and disables for 30 seconds if you hit someone healthy with it. For God's sakes BHVR, it's like you WANT Twins players to camp at that point, since you're nerfing the interactive part of the Twins (chasing with Victor) and keeping the unfair part.

I made a video about this as soon as it went on PTB and basically nothing was done. It's disappointing, and I wish Twins had a bigger playerbase who could kick up enough of a fuss about it for it to matter.

I woulda been one of those players to help kick up a fuss, but I was on the fence about buying the Twins. After all of this and the nerfs though, I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger on that purchase...

    I think you're overthinking it a bit

If they had wrote the backstory for Nurse or David and you replaced the word 'Husband' or 'Ex-Girlfriend' with 'Wife' or 'Ex-Boyfriend' then that's quite literally just a small part of their bigger story

there'd be nothing wrong with it, it's when characters are made PURELY to do nothing other than tick a box where there'll be issues. Probably

Maybe I am overthinking it but....I don't have faith bruh. Theres too many fails and bugs and complete #########'s in the lore for me to put faith that they do it right. Don't even get me started on that Kpop atrocity. Normal ass human killer....smh...

You sound dumm. Were ralking about LGBT representation as a whole

So if we got a trans character instead of a gay character, or a lesbian character, instead of a bi character you'd be cool with that? Cause I'm just trying to take note, which box of stereotypes BHVR should rummage through first.

    Um...

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2162476#Comment_2162476

You are saying this in opposition of people asking for LGBT lore to be treated like non-LGBT lore.

    Here's what you don't understand.....

If you come out and officially say a character is Bi.....then guess what....he's not gay.

If you come out and officially say a character is Gay....then guess what....he's not Bi.

If you comeout and say a character is a Lesbian.... then guess what.....she's not Gay.

^ I know you tend to not see the scope of the full picture here. But if you don't say a character is any of those things above....

Then the character can be anything and everything for everyone....WHICH IS FAR MORE INCLUSIVE than saying

Jake...is only into girls...not only that he was born a guy....

Or Feng Min....yeah shes only into girls and would never be bi...also....She was born a girl.

This is what you're not getting, and its the same thing Riot didn't get when they released Lucian....people are not monoliths. When you tie down a character with traits that are monolithic you end up with monolithic problems. The artistic genius of leaving a blank canvas dissolves monoliths, thats where this wacky ass French team had it right. But hey if you wanna go back to the world we all live in currently instead of the artistic concept the game first came out with you're more than welcome to open that pandoras box. But like I said, you put too much trust in BHVR, don't @ me when this ######### goes sideways....

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2162476#Comment_2162476

Or… just let the devs create the character that they want to create without pushing them into anything?

it is very clear they have widened their focus on backstory of character. The backstories of new characters are more fleshed out than the originals and all of them get lengthy archive stories that feature many different relationships to other people.

they would have sooner or later added romantical or even sexual relationships no matter what. We know a good part of the devs from streams and videos etc and we know they are diversive and open-minded and inclusive.

let them do with their medium what they want to do with it. Speak up if you want to criticize something of course. They are only human beings after all and make mistakes. They might change their point of view and act on it. But don’t demand them to change just because you don’t like LGBTQ+ inclusion.

imagination and fanfic doesn’t get hindered by that. You can still think your David is heterosexual or not defined even if he gets a homosexual relationship added in a Tome. We also still have that multiverse that even explains why there can be multiple of the same char kn one match after all. There could theoretically be a killer and survivor char of the same character..

You put too much faith in BHVR to do this right and I'm tellin you guys......if you get Lucian 2.0 don't come @ me.... Just saying.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2160801#Comment_2160801

Oddly enough, despite feeling that the devs' writing is bad and having had relationships in lore since the Nurse's release, they're only speaking up now, when it's LGBT people asking for representation. I took that into account when considering the whole context of their comment.

Actually you'd be wrong because I spoke up way back then on a dif account. Saying, "Whats the point of having this lore about who Nurse was in love with when here entire character is built up around a job of being a Nurse." It was bad fanfic writing, about as empty as shipping an ex relationship for Michael Myers....HE IS THEEE MONSTER. Its like throwing out "Hey man Michael Myers really likes Legos" <--unless you're also going to introduce a section of the movie where people get away by lobbing legos at Myers its irrelevant to his lore and just a random thrown in bit for padding and then never use it again. And Nurse is especially bad because they don't even go into detail as to why she twisted. At least with the Original Myers lore it mentions WHY he became the way he did. And I know I'm comparing a AAA writing staff that went on to make legendary movies to a video game team....but, writing is writing.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2160698#Comment_2160698

I still think the devs should just retcon their terrible writing and not mention any of that stuff at all, that way you can imagine them to be anything you want them to be.

Nuke the lore because it's better than having LGBT characters? Really?

No, just retcon the parts of the lore that mention relationships so people can insert or speculate whatever they want. I mean sex is part of someones private life and what they do in private. By adjusting a few lines of text for the Nurse and David, problem solved. Since apparently people don't have enough imagination to inflect their own sexual desires on a fictional character. Like I said just because David has an ex girlfriend doesn't mean you know everything that goes on in his private life. As a character there could be other reasons why she's an ex. He could be into men on the side, you never know because its not mentioned. So it'd prolly work out better to just dump that bit.....and now he's whatever you want him to be.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2160648#Comment_2160648

And that's all lgbtq+ people want too. A single, throwaway, one line in the lore to show "HEY THIS IS A GAY RELATIONSHIP" or "HEY THIS CHARACTER IS TRANS" without making their entire lore about being gay/trans. It's there if you look for it but not if you don't.

That's what we want, equal treatment.

I still think the devs should just retcon their terrible writing and not mention any of that stuff at all, that way you can imagine them to be anything you want them to be. But if people keep begging inept writing to throw you a bone for representation you're gonna get a token....

And I've seen it before.....and it was laughable. IE long long time ago in League of Legends. We had the discussion....wait...Runaterra doesn't have anybody that looks "Black" people got on forums, begging, waving their pre-social justice pitchforks at Riot. Meanwhile normal people are like "Nah....this ain't it chief....this isn't gonna end how you think it is, why are you ignoring Ryze just because he's purple? Don't force it!"

    THEN BLAM! We get Lucian.....

He's black....he's got cornrows....a zig zag fade.....and the original concept had him holding his guns sideways....The threads and posts about it were off the ######### wall. "Yo ######### why's he slinging the 9 as his main weapon?" "yo ######### cornrows and a zig zag fade?" "Yo #########, do you think all black people hold guns sideways like this is the hood?" It was bonkers.

I'm just giving a heads up warning now, more pressure you put on it...higher chance its gonna come out....and you're not gonna be happy with the token. I'm tellin ya, I've seen it before, I'm probably gonna see it again. It always ends the same. Only difference is BHVR has the leeway to not have to deal with skin color but instead sex.....which if they stayed true to their original design would be anything the audience wanted it to be.....which is the best place to be. And hopefully they don't have the ineptitude to give us "the exaggerated swagger of a young black teen".....

@Mooks did say it was just one sentence.

Still trying to figure out, how people draw the conclusion that he's

    A. Homophobic

    B. Straight (we only know of 1 ex that mother ######### could have a huge list from multiple sexes)

    C. Russian

Or any other random made up ######### I see people on these forums throwing out randomly.

Its literally 1 line out of an entire chapter of a book, which should say enough.....it doesn't matter. His sexuality isn't what makes up his character, its not what defines you. He was rich....did a lot of hood #########, got into a lot of fights, and was pretty much abandoned by most of the people in his life including his so called "friends" <--- thats the lore....thats what matters. Not where he sticks his diddle or if he even has one, not his race, not his country of origin either. Its a horror game ffs not a dating simulator. If they wanted 1 dimensional characters they could have just skipped the lore entirely and given people a character creator with a bunch of random preset faces.

Dunno where the "super homophobic type" bit came from, but he did indeed have a GF, it's in his lore.

None of that garbage is true....what the heck....the whole thing is listed in the game and we even had an entire expansion devoted to canon lore. The dude grew up in Manchester england with rich parents spending their credit card money, getting into fights, and his only social circles were his entourage of friends getting themselves into criminal trouble as well aka people looking to be paid back and him and his friends getting beat up over it.

I just want to clear some things up. I have recently been hearing survivor mains say "WHY IS HE TUNNELING ME?!? "DUDE HES TRASH HE IS TUNNELING ME!!". I'm going to tell you entitled survivor mains the TRUE meaning of TUNNELING. Tunneling is not when the killer downs you off hook instantly. If the survivor who unhooked you is healthy, and you're running away, you're an easy down for the killer. Think of it this way. Would you rather do a generator that's at 10% or 90%? Realistically and logically, you'd do the 90% because it's the easiest way to get your objective done. It's the same thing for killer. Tunneling is when THE KILLER DILBERATLEY CHASES YOU FOR THE ENTIRE MATCH AND DOES NOT GO FOR ANOTHER SURVIVOR IN ANY CIRCUMSTANCE. I hope that clears things up.

Most survivors don't know the difference....on top of this...most survivors don't make smart NOR SAFE SAVES!

I maybe leave the hook and have my back turned 20 meters away and theres a guy (I CAN SEE YOUR SCRATCH MARKS BY THE WAY) running toward the hook at break neck speed.....its dumb....its not safe....and if I miss hitting the guy going for the save you just ######### over your friend....good job.

If you lose to someone facecamping, it's on you and your team.

It's perfectly within reason to get a 3E against someone facecamping, the counter is to do gens and let the person on hook die.

The Killer will always de-pip in that scenario if they are above Green Ranks.

Throwing a wild guess..I don't think this guy plays above green ranks....

Only in DBD do you lose strictly because you played well. "Oops. I killed a survivor. Now the rest get hatch." Hatch in itself is the biggest crutch that ever was, but keys are on another level of crutch. Why am I even gonna play a killer match if survivors have an item that guarantees an escape? Even when they don't have a key they can DC 'tech' aka exploit so their teammate can have the hatch. "But if they had to DC, that means you're good and you should be happy!" Small comfort to me considering I got a black pip because I was robbed of 2 sacrifices, and after all that hard work as well. Key using SWFs get ready for your very long match queue times to be extended by lobby dodgers like myself, which is a problem that you yourself have created.

    Just bring franklins...

Don't listen to any of these dumbass survivor mains that say its useless it won't do anything....Trust me

They wouldn't be complaining if it didn't sting to lose a key.

  • @Mooks said:

I don’t think that in your specific example match the outcome would have differed if the David got rid of Victor. Like.. do you think he would have done 5 gens on his own in the time that he ‚kidnapped‘ Victor?

it can be smart or dumb to keep Victor, it’s really just situational. There is no always right or always wrong here.

Its 100% wrong to kidnap victor at any time....every time...ALL THE TIME....

Every killer player knows this, the entire game is about TIME, having to use victor.....takes TIME, finding people with victor then chasing them down all that stuff takes TIME. If I know that a survivor is trying to "Kidnap" victor...you've literally just saved me 3 hooks worth of time spent to kill you......

She's 115% full on M1 killer.... a lot of people may think thats a bad thing but trust me...I can do some serious damage with just M1 alone, I don't even need powers its a bonus...

If someone decides to wear victor as a hat and I only have to keep up pressure on 3 people instead of 4 its about as one sided as the old match system where the game would keep going after someone started a match DC'd.... 5 gens left to be done vs 3 people....yeah thats a win...

  • @Ethelwulf said:

Almost every single match I have with the twins the survivor I attack with Victor refuses to take him off... like... do they think that's a win? It's literally like having a survivor dead. They are not doing gens, or anything actually, they usually go into a corner of the map afk.

They make the Twins even better because you are in a 3vs1. And if you're chasing someone else that means just 2 other people are doing gens. What do I want Victor back when I am fine as an M1 killer with a power that sent a survivor afk?

I just got called a noob by a David who thought he actually kidnapped my Victor and I "didn't know how to reclaim him", like... I got a 4k and they did zero gens... having him "kidnap him" won my game. And it seems like such a common way of thinking since most survivors refuse to take Victor off, are child kidnappers really this dumb?

Said it before and I'll say it again...BHVR is encouraging survivors to be worse at the game by introducing goofy stuff like this......

  • @sleepywynd said:

So I main killer mostly, but recently I've been getting my survivor to a decently high rank (I play with purples to low yellows) and I cannot believe how bad mid-tier players can be.

Nobody knows how to loop a Plague and I'm convinced people just run directly at her. Same thing with Legion and Myers. These aren't great killers and they're actually pretty easy to beat but for some reason, people can't seem to grasp them.

The one that really bothers me is deathslinger mostly because of how easily you can dodge him and mind game and everything but people just run straight into him while other people are being chased instead of doing generators.

Also, I know I'm not exactly red rank material myself, but I do generators whenever I have the chance, I run BT, we'll make it, sprint burst, and left behind so I'm a generally helpful player and I can loop for longer than 6 seconds.

I actually have a video of a guy getting hit, running around the short pallet loop they were at, then dropping the pallet on the wrong side against a hag... who didn't move at all.

My biggest peeve is that nobody does generators just as a general thing, 80% of my matches I have to get hatch, left behind should not be in my base kit.

Is there something I'm missing as a teammate? Do players actually improve?

Cause survivors get babied so much they end up bad at the game.

Lowered skill threshold=easier game, easier game=lower skill threshold. Its a never ending cycle.

2 main powers I noticed, slowing people down, and hair choking. But people don't know enough about the series and just brush it off with this knock off spirit we have.....sad...

Because Spirit already fulfils that type of horror no? I wouldn’t really be opposed to them adding the Grudge but it would be kind of boring and uninspired. Especially if their power is just a rip off spirits. We’d just have the Leatherface situation again where Leatherface essentially ripped off Billy’s power with minor changes.

You do realize leatherface existed before Hillbilly right?

1: Mr. X is a year older than Nemesis and nobody cared about him until 2 years ago, 19 years after his debut. This is because he's pretty generic. So generic that Mr. X isn't even his real name, a toy company slapped it on him and Capcom has never officially labeled him that. He's named T-00. The guy really isn't iconic and it's just recency bias and internet memes propping him up.

2: You should play the original RE3. Original Nemesis is scarier and more dangerous than even remake RE2 Tyrant.

3: A rocket launcher would be a lot easier to implement than Deathslinger's speargun was. It could absolutely make it in, it just couldn't be his primary power because Nemesis did not stand back sniping people with a rocket launcher all day. I'd take Birkin over a generic Tyrant any day though.

But he's still a Tyrant. All tyrant class zeds have the same structures and powers. They all have ridiculous near immortal regeneration. They all have some form of biologically manipulating their bodies, wether it be claws, tentacles etc. They all have super strength and because of their height advantage extreme speed. My take is, for the highest profit ratio for skins, they'll either do full on Nemesis, and include a few skins where he's either using the remake reskin or the original, or some odd obscure variant. Or they Just straight up do a Tyrant class Zed with generic Tyrant class abilities, and manage a way to sell all of the Iconic Tyrants at once. I have a feeling that its gonna be a charge skill that breaks through pallets, and a tentacle grab.

Survived mothers dwelling a lot against pig.

With and without those add ons.

It is never guaranteed a kill with those add ons, not on big maps nor on small maps.

You don't want to know how many times my key is in the last box 😅

It is very rare for me to get it on the first try or anything before the last box.

If you hear her TR don't be scared and just risk it.

The only survivors who get headpops from it (no matter the add ons) are the ones who get scared when they hear her TR.

They suddenly go hide to see if they can spot where she is.

And by the time they realise she's chasing someone else, they have spent so much time that there is a great chance they get a headpop.

The worst thing that can happen is she goes for you.

But then the timer stops and when she leaves you alone, you are miles away and most likely close to a box with some extra time you got from the chase.

This happens a lot actually. Survivors mind game themselves into death. Its much more effective for them to just run like a headless chicken and search for boxes as if their life depended on it.....in which it does....

They nerfed it because they were implementing the End Game Collapse in the same update, and having both the RBT timer and the EGC timer ticking down simultaneously for Survivors unlucky enough to get a Trap at the end of the game is not fair. It's just that their solution to the problem ended up being too heavy-handed.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2141611#Comment_2141611

My theory: The average player in this game is a potato. This does not exclude Red Ranks. When you consider that Pig has very few players playing her, the ones who play her are more likely to be dedicated to her and better than normal. So when these better Pig players run into the potato Survivors, the end result is a highly boosted kill rate in the charts since there aren't as many bad Pigs and good Survivors to balance it out.

Her stealth could be better....considering ghostface showed up and just kinda outdid that part of her kit for no reason out of nowhere. But her dash plays are out of this world during a chase. Only other killer I can think comes close is Legions dash, and maybe blight, with the exception that legion is slightly better because he can shut down pallets by simply vaulting. Can't kill during that phase but can really shut them down. Pig on the other hand can get the down in those same situations if the pallet is a loop. And can hug corners to ridiculous levels. But again I think her level of play and capabilities is all gonna come down to preference.

I bought Pig last night, and I've played 3 matches with her so far. I'm still trying to get the hang of the dash and ambush attacks, but that's to be expected. As for her traps, I thought a Survivor wasn't able to escape through the exit gates with a trap on their head?

I downed a Claudette during EGC, but she was still able to crawl out the exit gates with the trap on her head. I thought that could only happen if trying to escape through the hatch? If traps don't become active during EGC, then that seems to really limit Pig's power as a Killer.

    Thoughts?

I recommend picking up some tips from pig players, but also figuring out your own niche. Check out some of Scorpionz stuff as well as others.

Its great to watch great players, but pig has a versatile enough kit that you could play her in a variety of different ways effectively based on your needs. My personal style I tend to focus on secondary objectives and debuffing survivors. Some other pig players enjoy playing her with brute force. Some others enjoy utilizing her stealth constantly. All personal preference. Once you learn her basic mechanics, she becomes one of the best perk manipulators in the game. With builds that can only be pulled off with her kit.

They can escape if it’s not active. I don’t think it limits her too much since you typically only have 4 traps so you only need 4 downs before the endgame to use all your power. Usually my goal as pig is to get a down and trap out before the first gen is done.

Her dash is crappy, her stealth is crappy, and the bear traps are completely RNG.

There is very little reason to play her outside the tampered timer + crate of gears combo unless you are a huge SAW fan.

Her stealth is amazing, her dash is amazing, and her traps are one of the best secondary objectives in the game..... you sure you play pig?

Honestly, I wouldn't mind waiting in a queue for 5 minutes just to match me with people of my own skill instead of players with thousands of hours in the game (I have 27 hours). Just for context, I play killer and the queue time for me is always under 30 seconds.

I think I ranked up too fast and now I'm being punished for it - I'm rank 10 and in almost all my games there is a red rank survivor or two who I have to ignore - I'm more scared of these guys than they are of me XD. I guess it goes both ways and new survivors sometimes match with red rank killers? (this would be much worse imo since one red rank survivor only makes up 1/4 of the team)

All in all I'm enjoying the game I just wish the matchmaking was better - especially with the RE chapter coming. I think it'll draw a lot of people to the game and some of them might be put off when they come up against super survivors or killers while they're still learning.

I know if the matchmaking changes it'd make the queues too long for higher ranked players but it's real frustrating for newer players (or at least for me) when we get matched against them :S

Sometimes...I don't think the game is tough enough on people to help improve their skill. Other times, its so mismatched and difficult you have nothing to learn from playing that match as a killer or survivor.

It is common knowledge that survivor info is shown to both fellow survivors and to the killer when entering the pre-game lobby. Many killers use this to see the hours, friends, and possibly even previous aliases of the survivors they’re facing. I was wondering if anybody would like to see this feature brought to the killer. Just curious on what everybody thinks.

    My own opinion

    Pros:

•Fair play in being able to see who you are playing against since killers can already see the survivors they’re facing as of right now

•Allows you to get a brief look at the profile of the killer to see if you know them or possibly have faced them before and had a good match previously.

•Survivor streamers who are sniped by killers who just want to make them miserable can see the user and know to dodge the lobby

    Cons:

•Sniping would be made easier for survivors

•Recognizing the player might make it possibly to know which killer they play the most and to craft a build around that killer if you know their main

•Lobby dodging simply because you may not like that person or who they main

Nah....I like my name to be revealed after the match....more thematic. And protects my ability to play a variety of builds outside of the "OH ITS PIG, GOTTA RUN XYZ PERKS CAUSE THEY KNOW ITS ME!"

  • Who the hell is Romero? The night of the living dead guy?

I seem to have notice a lot of killer only user seem to dislike survivors who play stealthily. I don't understand what the big deal is. If this a horror game then some people will play this as a horror game. I seen people say this should be a game were you should just show yourself to the killer and be expected to run in circles around some walls. Come on, not everyone wants to loop. I think hiding from the killer and doing gens is an acceptable playstyle. And I know people who have reached rank 1 by playing stealthy. I have a friend who got to rank 1 by playing stealthy only doing gens, and recusing. And he still can't loop, and he likes to play stealthy according to him. So leave the stealthy players alone.

Not even gonna BS you....most killers dislike it or make a buncha bullshit excuses about it because its legit the best tactic in the game...period.

Lets not even sugar coat it....a full team of people who are stealthy are far more dangerous to your ability to kill survivors than some hot shot with neon on running around begging for attention. The guy in neon saves me so much time in finding survivors to kill them. The guy stealthing eats away at my time. And in the killer world, time is money. If you can't find people when you need to find them....its GG.....

  • @Tsulan said:

Because a playstyle that constanly forces the killer to switch targets to get survivors off gens, instead of camping&tunneling, apparentrly wasn´t fun for survivors. So the Undying Ruin combo was nerfed.

Now killers stack Corrupt, Ruin and PoP to enjoy slightly longer matches. I wonder how long it takes until this combo also gets nerfed hard...

I think the devs want us to camp and tunnel tbh....

Everytime we get a shift in the meta to where creating alt objectives and creating more reasons for the killer to be up on its feet and getting more hooks (same playstyle as pig btw). Everytime we get a significant playstyle change that pushes us away from camping and tunneling it gets nerfed, and the perks and methods of camping and tunneling get buffed....

I always think to myself nah....no way...the devs wouldn't want that....but sure enough...I think they want us to be #########.

5 totems and the killer has vision when you either pass by or get close enough to start cleansing them. Plus lets not forget the time spent finding the lit totem so a total of 4 totems if you ignore undying. It definitely was broken and extremely oppressive. Every game I played during that time consisted of a tinkerer, ruin, undying, <4th perk> and the killer almost always had someone dead at 4-5 gens. I also used a totem oriented build and still had issues since it was so oppressive. Give it a break and admit your precious "fair and balanced" perk literally handheld and spoonfed you wins and not because you were good.

Doesn't matter if the killer has vision, during a game when stuff like that is happening I either have to continue the chase I'm currently on, or break it to go after some guy who's god knows where across the map doing my totem. And only a handful of killers have the mobility and flexibility to do that every single time. Its 16 seconds....it wasn't demanding at all to dispose of those extra totems. People just make excuses the same as killers do about perks like Adrenaline or Sprint burst. Sprint burst adds a few seconds to the chase, big deal....you down them. You don't like hexes? Fine run small game or some other counter hex perk for survivors. But every time we get into these tangents where

"THE GAME NEEDS TO BE NERFED CAUSE" blah blah blah, and then nobody wins in the end because something else gets nerfed shortly after to compensate for the last thing that was trivialized...

  • @RepostRiposte said:

Because getting unlucky could respawn Ruin (strongest regression in the game which is balanced by being a removable hex) up to 3 times, which kind of eliminated the counterplay outside of coordinated SWFs who could actually manage to track down 4 totems within a reasonable timeframe

Its not getting lucky....all you have to do is cleanse totems, only 5 totems can spawn in a match period. So from the start of the match the killer only has 3 possible totems left. It wasn't broken, it was something survivors should have been doing anyway. But since all survivors like to do is rush gens, then complain about holding M1 It got nerfed. It wasn't op.....it was just another glaring glimpse into whats wrong with this game.

Hello everyone thanks for taking the time to check out my post.

I'm new to the game just got my trapper to level 50 and reached rank 5. But I'm having alot of trouble now.

My perks I usually use are:

Bitter Murmur ,Hex: Noed, Agitation, and Deer stalker

My usual add-ons are the green tar bottle and a bag yellow or purple if I have one.

I try to put survivors in the basement when possible and trap widows and pallets near gens.

Any advise on how to use trapper or load out suggestions would be great.

    Thank you again!

Alternatively, you didn't rank up too quickly, and you're a killer prodigy.....

My padowan....you have greatness in your veins!

As easy as killer is, why on gods earth is it necessary to crutch on the same things over and over for free wins? Does it not get boring winning very easy?

First game of the day: Hillbilly with Ruin and Tinkerer

Second game of the day: Nurse also with Ruin, Tinkerer, and even Starstruck on top of that

Third game of the day: Huntress with Ruin. I killed myself and exited the game. I knew the 4th match would be another Huntress or a Spirit probably.

This is ridiculous and very embarrassing for killers. It's more embarassing for the devs that are so incompetent that they leave all of these training wheels in the game for killer to get a 4K every game.

Once again, balance the game and make it fair for a change and stop pandering to baby killers that want easy wins.

As easy as survivor is, why on gods earth is it necessary to crutch on the same things over and over for free wins? Does it not get boring winning very easy?

First game of the day: Meg with DS, Sprint Burst, Borrowed time, and Adrenaline.

Second game of the day: Dwight with DS, Sprint Burst, Borrowed time, and even Adrenaline on top of that.

Third game of the day: DS, and a Key, I put a head trap on myself after that, cause I knew the 4th game was gonna have another one of those crutch perks. Probably an immersed claudette.

While I strongly agree that survivor objectives is the main source of killer stress, I believe increasing gen times will only make survivor more boring.

I would propose instead of increasing gen times, give survivor's a secondary objective prior to gens. For example every 25% progress gens overheat and become too hot to interact with so survivor's have to find a bottle of oil to pour into the gen to cool it off, than it becomes intractable again. At the same time I believe this will shift the killer meta and give other perks a chance to shine.

I don't think looping is the problem, I think the problem comes from the fact that killers have to hope and pray that survivor's make a mistake or that they are out positioned to win the chase, instead of being rewarded for playing well (let's exclude Sally and Rin from this).

Even if it isn't just straight up gen times, ANY OTHER OBJECTIVE WOULD STILL BE A WELCOME CHANGE!!! Like dude I get it survivor can be boring when all you're doing is pressing M1. But I have yet to see the devs add any other worthwhile objectives. And when they inadvertantly come up with an interesting way to throw a side objective at the survivor via hex totems....THEY NERF IT.....so its like....The devs don't want to give killers more gen time, which is fine, because survivors don't wanna sit there even longer on gens, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, they aren't willing to add in interesting secondary objectives either so.....

Survivors are just gonna have to stay bored and keep holding M1 I dunno what to tell you. We been begging for extra stuff for you guys to do for ages. It keeps our job fun by having us focus on more objectives, and would likely keep survivor play fun by not having you sit and do the same M1 hold every damn game....But nope, everytime it comes up BHVR says no.... So I guess they like you guys standing in the same spot holding M1 I dunno....

  • @ARatherStrangeKiller said:

Inspired by Trickstaaaaa's post, I want to ask the community, how would you fix the problem of the stress that comes with playing killer?

I'm sure most of us are well aware that playing killer is no walk in the park, especially when compared to the survivor experience. More often than not, a single mistake on the killer's part could cost what would've been a victory, having to then rely on a survivor's own mistake which can be hard due to second-chance perks (E.G. Deadhard and Unbreakable).

What could be changed to rectify this? Should survivors be given more to worry about? Should their second-chance perks be nerfed? Or should the killer experience itself change? Would the mythical "Early Game Collapse" help?

Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times Gen Times.....and....

    Generator Times.

Thats it...thats all my stress in this game thats it. It IS THE PRIMARY REASON I have not picked up and had fun with other killers who didn't have gen pressure built in. And its the only reason I won't play any other themed builds that don't do ANYTHING other than slow down gen times.....
