You know that Pharmacy ensures a medkit, right?
True but that medkit only has 1 heal. Appraisal can get you multiple plus some extra toolboxes

I feel like John could have worked fine. He was still pretty active in Saw 1, and not to mention it's you know, Dead by Daylight. Does it make any sense that a fat, obese, middle aged man is able to walk faster than an athletic woodland survivalist, a teenage girl, and an energetic K-pop star? Not really.
I just think it would be weird for Kramer to be in the game. He never liked doing the killing himself it was more so a “lesson” and that they “killed themselves” so seeing him with like a knife stabbing people would be a bit weird to me anyway

Well in that case, wouldn't it have been better to make John the killer and Matthews the survivor?
Maybe but I feel John would’ve been too hard to make a killer since he doesn’t exactly have any chasing skills and he’d probably look at bit too human. Also the pig mask is pretty iconic to the franchise
As for matthews he definitely could’ve worked but I think they devs just kinda wanted to go for the lesser used character. Maybe they just liked tapp more tbh (Also having more representation in the form of another black character isn’t a bad deal)

I guess, but still, he just wasn't that important to the overall story of Saw.
Yeah he wasn’t really but they kinda do this sometimes with licensed chapters.
Silent hill was all about making sure it represented a lot of the franchise and I feel they did the same in saw hence why they chose tapp for the first film and Amanda for the second

To be fair, the Nightmare On Elm Street chapter was strictly based off of the remake, which Quentin was actually pretty important and likable in.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2251951#Comment_2251951
Yeah, both Amanda and Tapp were pretty weird choices. To my knowledge they haven't said why they choose these characters for the Saw chapter.
I’m guessing tapp was chosen because they wanted to put in parts of multiple saw films. That’s why tapp was chosen because he was kinda pivotal to the first film
Also saw the video game

An older woman,so far all the female survivors don't look older than early 30's.
While the male survivors have Ace,Bill,Tapp and Ash.
Yeah that would be a cool addition. We need some more variety in the females
-
I have no problem playing nice in my games. Sure I might not win every match but does it matter if the game doesn’t have a win condition anyway?
-
@QwQw said:
Honestly, Matthews or someone else should have been the survivor for the Saw chapter. Tapp was only in one movie and was barely important to the overall story.
I feel like that’s kinda why they choose him. It’s like Quentin being picked instead of Nancy

Completely disagree I rather go against a trickster vs a huntress any day, since her hitboxes with the hatchets are the 2 second worst hitboxes only beaten by freedy's hitboxes. And trickster honestly is easy to loop compared to a huntress since all you have to do is go behind a tall object and run around it. I'm not even kidding I looped a couple of trickster for 5 gens and managed to escape every time. I have not looped many huntresses for 5 gens. And I'm sorry those slugging machines no way, for me at least..
There’s the thing. Running around a tall object isn’t fun since with trickster it’s either that or you go to a low wall loop and are fighting what is essentially old legion

I think you got confused with the twins lol.
At least twins are kinda unique and kicking Victor is kinda funny.
Fighting trickster is like huntress but without the satisfaction of dodging a hatchet since he has 59 more
-
Trickster is the most boring killer to fight period. He’s not frustrating or OP but he’s a complete snoozefest

@Kira4Evr Your Nea outfit looks sick btw. Well done!
Nice Jeff outfit! I do hate how that hair floats though

My two favourite outfits for my mains
-
Only one I would change is appraisal. An extra medkit or toolbox is much better than a perk that requires 3 other perks to work in one every ten games
-
There’s 3 perks to defend totems as opposed to 3 to find. Seems fine to me
-
If you want it to only combo with ruin and no other totem perk then yeah sure
-
Nope. That’s like killer players who want every map to be midwich

No competition. Why should they put more effort than they need to when there is literally no similar game you can turn to.
There is competition it’s just usually worse
Friday the 13th, last year, home sweet home
-
You should go for it. Even if it doesn’t work out it’s always good to try!
-
Add ons make playing the same killer over and over a lot less repetitive. I’ll use clown as an example since I main him
If I feel like focusing on using the tonic I can run bleach and chloroform together
if I feel like using the antidote more I can use makeup kit and spirit
if I want survivors to DC I can run pinky finger (why didn’t they change this?)
It adds more depth and build opportunities for killers
-
You can tell how map design has improve when you look at haddonfield
Well at least until Hawkins anyway

"The Blight" refers to the serum he's pumped full of, turning him into a classic jekyll-and-hyde monster that sprints at people. It's also a reference to the Halloween events he came from.
Trickter performs knife tricks. His Mori is literally him performing knife tricks. He is a trickster by definition, because there is more than one definition of "trick".
His stage name was also you guessed it the trickster

I've hated yui and trickster since they were revealed

You said 3, but honestly any killers below A tier need buffs of varying degrees. Which B tier and below account for more than half the entire killer roster.
Hard to say. Some killers like doctor and bubba are widely considered B tier but I think they are both in great spots
-
I want like half of the survivor perks buffed so I won’t list them all but some that need desperate attention are
- Sole survivor’s effect is okay but the requirement means you’ve already lost the game
- Poised is way too luck based for a mediocre effect that lucky break now does better
- Distortion needs more tokens or a way to get them back
- Solidarity doesn’t do enough to warrant a perk slot. I had a rework idea but the new perk bite the bullet kills that idea
- Autodidact needs more consistent skill checks
-
The only game to beat this games pure horniness is overwatch tbh

Perks:
Hex: Afterlife - pretty neat
Hex: Decay - I dont like this perk at all, being unable to use a perk for maybe the whole game, while the killer has to do nothing to achieve this feels terrible -> maybe you can do it like this: You get a token each time someone gets unhooked. At one token survivors are exhausted for 10s, at two tokens for 20s and at three tokens for as long as the Hex Totem exists.
Imprisonment - can be pretty nice
Ability:
Runes - okay
Celtic fury - pretty cool, would like to test it out
Thanks! I wanted to make decay powerful since it is a hex that can be destroyed
-
Nurse has needed a full on rework for 4 years so I’d go with her

The rest of your comment didn’t really add anything new so I didn’t deem a response necessary 👍
I’m not talking about how good he is that’s kinda irrelevant. What I’m trying to say is by completely reworking him they ######### over a lot of the people who enjoyed the old version by not giving them a way to play him again.

I like old Freddy but i like new Freddy too. the survivors are known to have mini sleeps during the remake movie and this Freddy is based off of him.
So bringing survivors is not really part of Freddy to bring him into the Dream World even thinking about OG Freddy. as much as it was fun for all he was just a little weak. also they added teleportation and that is fun.
I find Freddy fun to play as now and go against. Pallets with lightborn is where the fun is at.
Fair enough. I just find him kinda boring now but I’m glad other people are enjoying him!

His "unique playstyle" was walking around a blurry cornfield not being able to hit survivors for ~7 seconds with mediocre perks and no tools to help in a chase. Survivor gameplay against him just consisted of:
- Equip self-care
- Fail skill checks
/hj
The only thing that made him "unique" was that he was uniquely boring to verse and play.
And what is he now?
Put snare at loop pre drop pallet repeat
Or if they are awake you are an m1 killer
You weren’t Supposed to chase with him he was more hit and run style like wraith. His perks are still trash anyway
Self care was a hard counter but that can be easily change to just generator skill checks

I don't understand where you're coming from here at all. Are you forgetting the reasons why Freddy was changed in the first place?
He wasn't fun to play or play against for a LOT of people so he got changed. He had nothing to help in a chase making for a frustrating killer experience and he was just boring to play against as survivor. Having a killer know where you are at all times does not make for a fun match. I'd say the changes were absolutey warranted; just one month into his release almost half of Steam reviews were negative (46%).
Because people had to learn to adapt to his unique playstyle. I’m not saying copy paste old Freddy but bringing back what made him unique should be a priority.
Anyway how is he in a good state now when he has useless add ons, no skill ceiling and a boring anti loop power that is lifted from another killer?
-

- "in a terrible state";
- is statistically the strongest killer
That was before his nerfs and when forever Freddy existed. Right now he’s painfully average.
While Old Freddy was undoubtedly weaker that’s not the point I’m making here. Old Freddy was 10x more fun to fight and more fun to play for a lot of people. He brought a unique playstyle and was very faithful to how the films portrayed him.
Now he is an amalgamation of other killers that is just boring and has no identity
-

"rough around the edges" is probably the biggest understatement I've heard on these forums.
Well yeah he was weak but a couple of changes and he’d be fine.
Current Freddy has already been changed a lot anyway and is still in a terrible state so they might as well cut their losses and go back to old freddy
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
Old Freddy was embarrassingly bad.
Completely countered by self-care or even a med-kit...
He was a bit rough around the edges sure but new Freddy is uninspired, not interesting and boring to play as
-
How would they fix it though?

I started playing around when ghostface got released. So old freddy was around.
In fact, I got my adept nightmare on old freddy.
I remember mostly winning all my matches with him. Granted it was on lower ranks, but still...
I remember him being fun to play.
Compared to new Freddy he was a lot of fun. New Freddy just has nothing interesting going on anymore
-
I like how she isn’t really a good person. Most the survivors are pretty generically good so having a more morally grey one is cool
-
I’m going to be crucified for this

I hate playing against nurse since I love normal chase mechanics and nurse just says nope to them
-
Demo is the best design imo as he has good chase strength and good mobilty
Worst is nurse since she ignores the game

Freddy was worse at the chase than Wraith, who was already bad at the Chase. Freddy also could not move between gens as quickly as Wraith, and his Dream World was quickly undone, forcing him to go through the same process over and over.

I do not judge Killers by their basekit, personally.
I tend to judge them without add ons because then things can get out of hand.
if we be fair and judge up to green add ons only what about oni? Topknot oni is pretty unfair

Not when the killer in question is one which shouldn't chase that often. Also, the first hit as Freddy was almost always free, so there is that.
Ghostface actually has none as of right now

@Starr43 said:
It’s me... the broken record again.. so I’ll keep it short.
Original Freddy with the dream pull mechanic was significantly more enjoyable than reworked Freddy. Original Freddy needed a little love to improve the overall experience of playing as him or against him but the rework removed essentially everything that made Freddy a blast.. at least in my opinion.
Yep now he’s just your average chase based m1 killer and the dream world feels like an afterthought
