Just because it’s working as intended doesn’t make it good. This will ruin the new player experience
-
“We want to improve our new player experience”
MMR literally ruins the new player experience
-
For clown I want them to fix up his antidote a bit. Sometimes the gas will not do anything and sometimes I’ll be nowhere near it and get the effect
-
It’s probably a thing because deathslinger’s pseudo stealth wasn’t very well liked

Once they play a few games, it'll even out with that killer. It all takes time.

I like the MMR system. I'm playing killers i have never played before, i'm not good at and i don't feel like i'm being punished for it. The more players play killers and the better the get the higher the ranks. The problem with MMR is that everyone can see player rank and think that is what matters even though they say otherwise. Ranks should be removed or hidden honestly, that is the only way to get a fair test. Until then the survivor died because the killer was red rank. yes. that's it. wasn't their fault.
Instead of you being punished for playing new killers new players are being punished. If I can play clown well I can play Freddy well there is no need for completely different MMR scores for them
-
I’d rather them just keep ranks and focus on other more pressing issues

I agree that the SBMM should take your current rank at least somewhat into account to create a base score for killers you don't play often, but still, I disagree that the game should once again be held back for the sake of newcomers.
We aren’t really holding much back here. If MMR intends to make balanced matches like it should then new players should be matched against other new players simple as
-
All I’ve gotten playing killer is rank 15’s even on my main killer
-

Yeah, I don't really care about the new players in this scenario.
I’ve played about 8 matches with clown now (my main who I play a lot) and I’m getting rank 15’s. I know rank doesn’t indicate skill but they weren’t very good anyway
New players should feel welcomed into this game and I can’t imagine what it must feel like to be destroy multiple times because someone “doesn’t know how to play pig” when her fundamentals are literally the same as most other killers

I feel like BHVR will sing Still Alive song about test results:
This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here:
HUGE SUCCESS.
It's hard to overstate
My satisfaction.
BHVR
We do what we must
Because we can.
For the good of all of us.
Except the ones who uninstalled.
But there's no sense crying
Over every mistake.
You just keep on trying
Till you run out of people who still play.
And the Science gets done.
And you make matchmaking work.
For the people who are
Still play.
Yeah probably
-
@Noz said:
It is almost as if it is a test to collect data and that nobody claimed that this system was intended to work for this test.
This is the 3rd test

@Alionis said:
If ranks were hidden, as they would be once SBMM goes live, as ranks are obsolete with that, this wouldn't really be a problem.
The SBMM does what it is intended to do. If you never play Pig, it doesn't have a rating for her yet, so it'll assume you're not very skilled at Pig and give you an easy game at first. It will take a handful of trials before the SBMM will adjust and you'll get proper matches.
Give it some effing time.
But these matches are still really unfun for newer players to a point where they might quit. The new player experience will be worse and for a very minimal gain imo
-
@GannTM said:
The devs should really have a system that calculates how hard a killer is to play. Obviously Pig is very simple and has skills that can be transferred from any other M1 killer.
I think it unnecessary entirely tbh. Only 2 killers play different enough to warrant it and after a couple of matches you have the hang of them anyway
Not like playing against noobs is going to help you improve anyway
-
@TheMadCat said:
What do you mean? Could you explain, I'm confused... Like, you rarely played Pig before but you know how to play her regardless?
There’s a lot of transferable skills between m1 killers such as when to abandon chase general looping knowledge etc
By putting me against rank 20s as pig who I can play decently well since my overall game skill is decent it’s a stomp as expected
-
I usually farm with them but if they keep pointing at hooks I’ll just kill them
-
Clown is just a disturbing sight and his terror radius doesn’t help. His breathing is also creepy
-
My all time favourite game is half life opposing force. Really well made and cuts out the boring parts that made half life weaker
Favourite game at the moment besides DBD is either apex legends or payday 2

I agree with @Phasmamain on this one. DS isn't awful but it is a shell of it's former self. Perhaps that's a good thing but there's no denying that it is significantly weaker now. It only provides value when you're being tunnelled. So, if you aren't being tunnelled then you're basically playing with 3 perks. On top of that, really strong killers like Nurse, Spirit and Blight, just don't care about DS. As someone who has played a good deal of Blight, I can count on one hand the amount of times where DS has actually saved a Survivor from me tunnelling them. Yeah the 5 second stun can hurt, but nine times out of ten, I just catch up to them in a matter of about 5-10 seconds and down them. To be entirely fair though, DS stunning a killer with no mobility like a Trapper or Pig, could really hurt them. I will give you that.
As you mentioned, DS can help in endgame situations. However, as Phasmamain said, other perks can have a similar effect but better. For example, if your teammates run BT then it is essentially the same effect. If you don't want to rely on teammates then you could use exhaustion perks to essentially give yourself an extra health state, with the added benefit that you should be able to see multiple uses of them in a match. Unlike DS which is 1 time use and is not very helpful against the stronger killers.
I wouldn't outright say that DS is bad. It can be incredibly good. However, for better or for worse, it is not the meta perk it once was.
Yeah I’m not saying it’s weak but imo it’s too weak at what it’s meant to counter. Make it work on both hook stages and I’m good
-

I 100% think you're wrong on DS. The way it works now is fair. It's a strong perk that has gotten me many wins. Think about it I had matches were had I not had DS I would have lost. For example at the end game, there has been times were I'm getting camped and I get unhooked and get downed again were DS basically gave a 100% escape. Is it weaker now yes, but not underrated.
I just don’t think it does enough to warrant a perk slot. If you’re fighting a nurse or spirit or any good chasing killer they’ll be downing you again relatively quickly.
Not bad but could use a slight buff imo
-
Most overrated: Decisive strike isn’t a strong perk anymore imo and other options are much better
Most underrated: I’m going to be killed for this but Gearhead is a decent info perk on m1 killers and can work better than discordance against efficient survivors
-
Nope but I will be bringing party bottles every game

Old version.
If they switch to this version, then i´m going to start maining Jeff instead...
Please do If people play him he might actually get cosmetics
-
Looks fine. He wasn’t in major need of one in the first place so I’m glad they didn’t change too much
-
That’s not the issue. That’s a separate issue that can be fixed with better tutorials.
The problem is with no info things like unhooking unsafely and 3 gens become very common and the only way to fix this is through info perks being base kit or a pinging system like apex
-
Bubba is cool for the fact he’s a chunky boy but can still run faster than a sprint burst

Maybe they´ll buff it.
But we should go back to the topic.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2256365#Comment_2256365
If a killer ends a chase in under 30 seconds, it means survivor inexperience. With equal skill level, survivors will always beat the killer.
Tbf chase time is very map rng dependent assuming your not playing nurse or spirit then it’s pretty much in your hands only.
But yeah certain maps make chases take way too long (looking at you cowshed)

Distortion will see a comeback soon, because Lethal Pursuer will be omnipresent for the next 2 weeks after the RE chapter drops. And as a pure coincidence, Distortion is currently in the Shrine. So people might keep it in their loadout.
Oh I’ll definitely be using it to train lethal pursuer but unfortunately it isn’t very strong. Certain perks and addons eat away at your measly 3 stacks rapidly like clown’s cigar box or nurses calling
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2256013#Comment_2256013
Correct!
Also new perk combos could rise out of this. Maybe even a comeback of Urban Evasion and other stealth perks.
With tracking perks like whispers and bbq it’s unlikely and a lot of people do find stealth boring. Would’nt be opposed to it so long as it isn’t the only meta option
-
I’ve been beat.
Still love Quentin though

The reasoning behind this argument felt always weird to me.
- To not do it because you'd leave a couple of Killers out sounds fine to me.
- To leave all Killers out of it because of a couple of Killers doesn't sound fine to me.
I'm saying basically the same thing here, yet...Idk, i feel conflicted on it. 😋
I guess i just would really like to try some different bells, but wouldn't want any Legion or Ghost Face mains feeling left out.
It’s a hard one tbh. Some killers like trapper could even go the pay to win route with having different traps
Id say just tie it to the body piece of the outfit for example wraith’s mangled wrecker body piece might have a bell made of scrap metal
-
Quentin would probably be friends with Laurie and Steve
Jane and Elodie would 100% be friends
Jeff and Jane are both artists so they’d be friends too

Aura reading can go. Old Undying + keeping the stacks would be strong enough to make it an all time killer favorite.
Good totem spots don´t matter, because survivors have 3 totem finding perks + maps. Survivors could easily adapt to a new meta, IF they wanted to. It would lead to a more healthy meta and everyone would benefit out of it. Since you fear DH would be to strong, remember that one of the requirements of DH is that the killer doesn´t camp.
Im more so scared of devour on certain killers namely hag and nurse. They can already use devour on it’s own very well let alone with undying.
Then again that’s more a problem with killer strength diversity as opposed to perks
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2255952#Comment_2255952
Then they should have just added the stacks transfer. Ruin would have been the least problem of survivors.
But that doesn’t fix the luck based aspect and the aura reading. Aura reading was too strong on killers like blight and nurse and could potentially give you a free hit at a loop because of the totem.
Devour would probably be too strong with old undying especially on maps with good totems like lery’s or badham.
It’s not like the perk is bad at the moment anyway. Still a great choice for any hex build
-
@MadLordJack said:
It's like the Devs saw the complaints for Huntress' beach balls and thought "Well, better nerf Plague and Slinger a bit"
Also let’s keep her exhaustion add on and give her two insanely good new ones
What do you mean we nerfed billy too much in his add on pass?
-
@Tsulan said:
The often proposed solution is a obligatory secondary objective for survivors.
I think the devs tested the water with Undying. To see how survivors would react to always having to do totems.
But survivors didn't like the idea of killers that applied pressure by constantly switching targets instead of the usual camping/tunneling.
So here we are, back to basics.
I think it was because of the randomness of undying before where it could be useless or too good and the fact it synergised with only ruin
-
I look the most like Jeff but also Quentin a bit
For personality I’m a metal head and like art so try guess

Forgot to say, clowns reload time is increased to 4 seconds and cannot be cancel
That would just make him even more annoying to fight. It would mean you’d have to immediately predrop any pallet in a chase or get hit and you wouldn’t be able to make distance on him
-
I honestly feel bad for tru at this point. While I don’t always agree with him he’s still a very kind and positive influence for the game
-
Clown change would be too strong
Nurse would still be too good (she needs a full rework)
Hag only needs anti camping measures
Deathslinger is annoying but fine balance wise
Huntress has needed that since day 1 but good change
-
She can actually see over her hair now!
-
Just never liked her style personally. A lot of her cosmetics look very similar too
To answer the question though it’s unlikely since she’s still fairly new although it’s not out of the question
-
Yeah she looks a bit off. I’ll still always hate her though :)
-
Probably not since certain killers wouldn’t get any.
Sad that Victor can’t get cosmetics though
-
She looks a lot better now. Her model didn’t fair well in today’s day and age
-

Well, no reason for it to be a mandatory change. We are used to how these beloved characters look. Let us keep it.
When it’s something like old Freddy I would agree but this is a pretty minor change all things considered. How often will you be seeing her face in game anyway since Nea wears a mask in a lot of her skins
-
@GeneralV said:
They should just let us choose between old and new model, to be honest.
As I've always said, just because you can change something it doesn't you should.
Graphically updating the game seems fine to me. This isn’t a complete art style change or anything it’s just touching up her model a bit
-
Autodidact with solidarity and second wind is always fun. Fourth perk can be anything really but I like empathy
