99 gates shouldn’t be a thing, another reason egc only benefit survivors. Meanwhile killer have to drop whatever he doing to travel across the map to open a gate and watch the survivors go to the other 99 gate across the map. But who cares this game will never be balanced or fun

99ing is mainly a thing because EGC exists in the first place. 99ing was only ever done before EGC if you suspected the killer might have Bloodwarden. So it doesn't make sense to say its a buff to survivors because as pointed out by OP, it can get survivors killed.

Killers have time on their side so EGC does indeed favour killers (although it's not meant to favour any side. Also, the option to open the gates as a killer is merely there to force the game to end).

  • The sweat is greatly exaggerated IMO, it probably just feels like it because there's so much more BP to gain. I've been playing with non meta perks (on characters I'm lvling up for cakes) and games are not much different than usual. No DH, BT or DS.

There's some facecamping bubbas as usual but also some killers letting me and other survivors escape after a tough match.

Hot take(?): I think that every single offering should be shared between the entire cast of characters. Everyone uses the same ones, so if it wasn't split between characters it would be much more convenient.

It's not confirmed or even hinted at but I think this might be a thing when the prestige update drops because they mentioned addons, items and perks being kept when prestiging but never mentioned offerings. Just a theory though.

I just lobby skip if they dont use Frightful Flans. I dont tunnel or camp, Im more in the match for the chases, not too fond of being punished for a playstyle I dont use.

Honestly if I see mostly personal cakes/puddings when I use my cake offering, I'm thinking of doing the same. Why should others benefit from my cake when they are hoarding theirs out of spite?

Dunno about Huntress, but I'm pretty sure Spirit didn't have legacy skins.

As for your question, I imagine most players (that still have it after the mass wipes) left by now.

    Huntress didn't have legacy either.

And yes I also feel this way about legacy because I lost my legacy! Give it back to me BHVR :)

I still don’t fully understand what’s going to happen to players like myself who have have never prestiged any character but are all perks tier 3 on them. Apologies if I’ve missed an explanation for this but I’d appreciate anyone letting me know what’s happening with this scenario!

Read this: Dead by Daylight Gameplay Update: Prestige & Progression Rework | Dead by Daylight

There will be a catch-up system as explained in the link above.

  • So much negativity in this post! Cheer up!

  • I would love to not have to bring BT or feel the need for DS. But BT is needed for my team and sometimes I'll use DS to mitigate the risks of getting farmed or unhooked with no BT or if the killer tunnels me.

  • @Flawless_ said:

Not only that but I've seen a few killers teleport to the other side of the pallet after a hit/stun. I thought those days were gone? What's going on?

I've noticed A LOT more killers getting stunned lately and tping to the wrong side of the pallet

  • Nice I'll save that for tomorrow

  • Aftercare is my favourite non meta perk, it's awesome.

Basically if you want to be cool, don't use Empathy, or Bond or even Kindred. Use Aftercare and earn your auras!

  • I don't think it should deactivate when then doors are touched. Remember, the main reason by far as to why the doors are 99ed in the first place is because of EGC. Which is a mechanic that is supposed to be there just to end the game - not to benefit either side.

Of course in reality EGC benefits killers as time is on their side. So nerfing DS in this way would indirectly buff endgame for killers because survivors would adapt and start opening gates instead of 99ing them so DS doesn't deactivate.

  • I'm not sure... but welcome back! 😁

  • I find him quite fun to play against. He brings new mindgames to loops which spice up gameplay. E.g., should I run through shack or is he gonna burst through that locker?

If he uses remnant properly it makes it quite challenging to loop - good dredges force you to chain tiles together. Which is challenging but fun.

  • If I have, say, my Legion with every single perk but I don't actually prestige her do I get this unique reward for having prestiged the Legion if I use this option...

The answer to this question is no. Mandy confirmed you HAVE to have prestiged before the prestige update to get the "distinct" (as they call them) reward:

    image.png

Link: Can we please have prestige clarification? It's the only confusing thing about the stream — Dead By Daylight

Also, the distinct reward is confirmed NOT to be:

    • A cosmetic item
    • A charm

And just to say I am/was in the same position as you. I had every character maxed out but not prestiged. But I'm now trying to P3 all survivors now and have P3'd 11 so far! If you start now at least when the anniversary event is out you will have A LOT of cakes when lvling up at the lower lvls.

  • Yup, use them! I used to just bring a yellow medkit + 8 charges and 5% faster heal. Sometimes a basic yellow flashlight with a common battery. Since I'm now p3ing every survivor I've been using THE GOOD stuff. Refined Serums + Syringes, styptics, broken bulb + odd bulb + purple flash for a REALLY long flash blind.

It's a lot of fun. But I've still been prestiging characters with a bunch of these good addons still on them. I even prestiged Feng with 100 Chinese firecrackers on her because it would take too long to use them. I'm still trying to cut down from 100 refined serums and another 100 broken bulb's on mikaela before p3ing her...

If there was a map offering and someone dc's in the match then it was the person who used the offering that dc'd.

Otz noticed the connection and came up with the term as there's not really a quick way to say it so, Otz law. It also happens to be true a lot of the time as well, at least in my experience. Be sure to check it out yourself if given the chance.

Perhaps it's because players put on a map offering after a few bad games in an attempt to have a better game, only (in this case) to be farmed off the hook. At that point they've had enough and DC.

  • Survivors do have some limitations, they can't:

    • Use perks like DH and Sprint Burst together because of the exhaustion status.
    • Can't benefit from Second Wind if they get off the hook with Deliverance because of the broken status (they also don't work well with Adrenaline).

  • It's a nice passive, more iri shards = more cosmetics for me.

  • In my experience of reporting steam users for this (with an additional report including a screenshot of the incident), they are perma banned.

    Definitely report them.

  • Yea like others have said you gotta play against him in a similar way you should play against Artist. Or even hag (if you imagine his remnant as a hag trap).

Hold W, chain pallets/windows, never loop the same loop if he places his remnant.

  • Because he can tp to lockers at exit gates to cut you off? It is difficult, yea.

  • They're cool to have on hard to see/unusual looking but vaultable windows.

  • @Laluzi said:

Easy. Make that survivor lose collision for the duration of the Endurance status effect.

In the meantime, you can usually wait them out, annoying as it is.

Obviously biased as a survivor main here but I hear this solution said a lot and although yes it solves an issue - but it would also buff facecamping/camping in general and would heavily discourage endgame plays.

Because right now with the current BT there's a small window of opportunity if you're the 2nd last survivor. If you win the unhook mindgame after baiting out a hit you can try and make a play with BT.

  • I've played on it quite a few times, seems fine to me.

Cool more head on plays and it'll be much more quicker to use built to last

And that reminds me, flashbangs will be easier to collect now!

  • Lots of cursed locker spawns but I like the change. Good for huntress, trickster, head on plays, better spots to hide from BBQAC. It's nice all around.

  • Reminds me of a slimy fish out of water flapping about, I don't like it either

Is anyone getting really glared eyes from trying to see in the dark? Usually able to play quite a substantial amount of matches with my friends but we have all had to end early tonight due to this lol.

My friend is having the same problem and I don't appreciate it either, hopefully I'll just get used to it.

I am the opposite. I STOPPED prestiging characters when I found out about the re-work. I have 4 killers at P3 so I'm thinking why throw away all my add-ons and perks to get an undisclosed something or other. lol @Zeidoktor 'all I got was this bloody lousy t-shirt'

I know it's not going to be that great but it'd be nice to have and I'd probably regret not getting characters P3 before the update if I don't do so.

  • Ooo thanks for the info! I better start prestiging all the licensed survivors too then!

  • Same as others here - the animations, UI, character model and map reworks. (Although I kindaa miss the feel of the old maps, but at least swamp's still around - the last 2016 map that hasn't been graphically reworked).

  • I completely understand survivors that do this in solo queue. When a Nurse gets a reasonably quick down with Resonance + DMS and pressures the gens from then on out your odds of winning are very very low because the oppressive combo will be repeated again and again leaving you little time to do gens + unhook your teammates. And because it's solo queue you don't know whether or not to let go of the DMS affected gen, is your other teammate on the way already?

It doesn't help that matchmaking pairs you with inexperienced teammates that might not even let go of a gen to avoid the Resonance + DMS combo. It's an awful experience and that's just 2 perks. Add Ruin and Undying or Starstruck and Agitation or Sloppy and Infectious Fright or POP + Jolt. Disgusting!

  • £100~ - A lot of this was for all of the Stranger Things skins although I did get them on sale. I bought the £37.50 auric cell pack recently for better value considering a friend game me a steam gift card. I'm waiting for legendary characters to go on sale which I'll then purchase.

    • Boon 1: Any survivors aura within the boon radius is revealed to all survivors. If the killer is within the boon's radius, their aura is revealed for 3 seconds for every 30 seconds they are within it.
    • Boon 2: Dropped items within the boon's radius will recharge over time excluding toolboxes (too op i guess nvm)
    • Boon 3: You are unaffected from the blindness, exposed, hindered, hemorrhage, incapacitated, mangled and oblivious status effects when within the boons radius. (Leaving the boon's radius will re-enable all of the status effects for as much time as they have left, if any)
    • Boon 4: Every 60 seconds, a randomly chosen dropped pallet within the boon's radius will reset it to its upright position. (too good on The Game?)

To be honest most of these sound very OP if all survivors use them and they are around the entire map. But the same could be said about current boons like Shadow step, so I'm not sure really.

  • I used to think it was whatever but it has started to become annoying. They'll even do it when the killer is close by and if successful won't have BT they would have otherwise had.

  • Super hero: Any Means Necessary, Adrenaline, For The People, Repressed Alliance

    Alternative perks: Fixated, Deliverance

  • I can't decide! On the one hand old ruin was REALLY REALLY good at low to mid ranks because those survivors couldn't hit great skill checks. And even at the higher ranks even if one survivor could hit greats consistently, if another survivor was on the same gen and couldn't it'd still slow the progress significantly. But even if you couldn't hit consistently you could gen tap if need be. Old Ruin was good on any killer, no matter their map presence/mobility.

New Ruin is very good but especially better on killers with good mobility. Nowadays it can also be combined with other good slowdown perks like Resonance. Survivors can be pressured off gens if a killer herds the survivor they are chasing. And they also have tough scenarios e.g., where they have to decide whether to try and finish the gen or go get the unhook and have it regress significantly.

    I can't decide!

  • MMR just doesn't work properly as survivor at the highest MMR. Randoms 90% of the time are awful, have little game sense and are very poor in chases. When they go for an unhook save when the killer is camping, you already know 10 seconds in advance that they will get pulled off because they don't even fake it. In my experience I don't always face the best killers either, so that's inconsistent too.

To give you some advice, stop waiting for the developers to fix the matchmaking system and try to play with other good players in a SWF. I know it's rare but if you have a good survivor teammate send them a friend request and keep doing that until you consistently have other good players to play with.

  • Had 0 survivors prestiged but now have 10 survivors P3'd since the anniversary stream.

Looking forward to lvling up these characters from P3-lvl1 just a bit to farm a bunch of cheap 6th year anniversary cakes.

  • Not sure exactly how much I prestiged during the bloodhunt but from about May 17th to now I've P3'd 10 survivors which were originally just lvl 50. So going good! I'm gonna P3 all my survivors I think.

Also quite happy because someone reminded me when the anniversary is released I can lvl up all of lvl 1 characters e.g., to lvl 15 and get a TON of cheaply farmed cakes on them.

  • When the 2nd last survivor is being hooked so I can hide and hopefully find hatch.

I don't normally use lockers otherwise although I did try and use them twice recently to evade a tunneling killer to nullify the injured moans. They did not see my enter it and I had sufficient distance where they couldn't be sure where I was. Not sure if it's a bug currently (and perhaps its specific to Disturbed Ward) but the killers could easily hear me moaning within the locker. So lockers are very bad even for that purpose.

    • Bodyblocking, as in tanking a hit for someone, is a perfectly valid game strategy. Perks like Forced Penance and Mad Grit exist to counter this, as well as killer powers including Huntress, Bubba, Pyramid Head, Nurse, Blight, Spirit, etc.
    • Bodyblocking, as in preventing another player from moving for a prolonged period of time and thus preventing them from playing the game, is classed as a hostage situation if it began before the Endgame Collapse was triggered, and as such is a permanently bannable offence.

Do you mean to say that it leads up to a permanently bannable offense? Or perhaps the info is outdated? A few days ago I was held hostage for an hour. I recorded it all and sent a ticket to support with the player's steam64ID and the video proof and they were not permanently banned.

  • It's hard to remember old DBD things that I really miss, at least for me. What instantly comes to mind is old BNP, insta flashes, insta medkits, old DS, old NOED, infinites, OP mori's, old bloodlust, larger loops and lots of pallets. A weaker trapper and wraith, a very OP nurse. Vacuum pallets + windows, no window blocker. No EGC. Facecamping. The potential for major lag switching. Old forever freddy. How you couldn't heal fully with a common medkit. ETC!

I DID miss old movement and character models but not anymore - I prefer the new ones. I do miss the old maps somewhat. I miss the old weekly/fortnightly dev streams and the old devs/BHVR employees; Hawkins.

It's hard to remember the things I miss more than the bad/OP things tbh maybe I'll add more to the list if I remember more things I miss.

No they stated in the anniversary stream that you won't lose your Perks or your add ons and offerings.

Just a small correction: They said you won't lose your items, perks and addons. They did not mention offerings in the stream or in the article regarding the new system.

Which is a bit odd though. Maybe they'll stop tying offerings to individual characters and make them universal, who knows.

  • Really?? Solo queue is going to be AWFUL

@Pepsidot I played with him a couple of weeks ago. Against a Wraith on Haddonfield.

Is Dwight_Fairfield your in-game name or do you mind telling me? Maybe I can find an endgame lobby screenshot of the game if I'm lucky - maybe.

Does it worth to prestige a character? I'm newbie in the game (just about 300 hours) but I just want to do it with Meg Thomas so that I could get whatever they are going to give away

If you havent got anywhere near max perks on a character, it's a no brainer. P3ing them will not only get you the reward but will also give you that characters perks on every other survivor once the progression update drops.
