I would level up all my killers to lvl 50 and unlock all perks on them and would level up all survivors to lvl 40 to get teachables, but would only get all the perks on Claudette.
Oh wait... I don't need to imagine because that already happend. :D

'I didn't earn it but I feel entitled to have it handed to me anyway. Old players bad. Old players selfish.'
This thread in a nutshell. You didn't earn it, you're not getting it. I am under the impression that the only reason they were bringing the event items back for everyone in the first place was because they couldn't identify the people who actually lost the cosmetics. Now they have, so only the people who earned them will receive them.
If you didn't earn them, you're not getting them.
-
It's still a good perk, just not as good as it once was. I don't use it when I'm in SWF but am likely to use it when playing solo. Helps me depend less on other survivors.
-
I really don't get how people can feel entitled to the cosmetics. Simple question: Did you earn them?
If No stop whinging about not having them. You didn't earn them.
If Yes, then you deserve them because you earned them.
There's no 'but... I wasn't around when' or 'but... my computer was crashing' or 'but... I couldn't afford dbd...'. 'but but I didn't know dbd existed'. It's tough luck.
People downplay the cosmetics by saying they were easy to earn... then WHY do you even want them? There are so many other cosmetics to choose from yet you cry wolf because other players earned cosmetics that you don't have access to. You've just been given a bunch of 'exclusives' in this update! What's next? Legacy cosmetics coming back... because YOU didn't play the game back then? Because YOU feel entitled to have them?
The people who earned the cosmetics aren't selfish or entitled, it's YOU, the people who are whinging about them that are entitled.
And to remind you, the devs originally planned to release the event cosmetics for everyone for the simple reason that they couldn't identify every player that EARNED the cosmetics, but lost it due to a bug. They have now identified all those that earned it. If you're not getting it, it's because you haven't earned it.
Bit of a rant but it's really tiring seeing all of these entitled comments and posts flooding the forum.

I don't agree with the people that say that they only deserve to have their event cosmetics that they earned and others hadn't been playing Dead By Daylight yet I feel that those people sound entitled and that is completely wrong because it sounds like they just want to keep their event cosmetics to themselves I got the Kate Denson Barbeque shirt and the Hillbilly Propane Hammer and I am not entitled nor do I care if people get the event cosmetics that I got so people that are saying "people don't deserve my Donkey Jacket or other event cosmetics" are being entitled and they think that they can get everything they want while others can just not get them and that is entirely immature I feel that the dev's should look at how many people got the event cosmetics and how many didn't and look out for those that didn't not just look out for those who did get the event cosmetics that are being entitled trying to keep something to themselves because they either can't accept other people getting something they got or see something as a memento to them and only want those cosmetics for themselves everyone deserves to have an opinion and everyone does and will have an opinion but everything should be equally available to everyone and not just the entitled people that feel that they earned them
"so people that are saying "people don't deserve my Donkey Jacket or other event cosmetics" are being entitled and they think that they can get everything they want while others can just not get them and that is entirely immature".
It's quite literally the other way around. New players are complaining and acting entitled for the skins they never earned, not the older players. Older players are just annoyed with how this has ever come up in a discussion in the first place. Event items should not be released for free. Doesn't make any sense and just screams 'entitled' from newer players.

Read his response in another thread. It doesn't affect legacy.
It's not mentioned in the latest update, so I'm basically asking for an update on the situation to see if any progress has been made on returning legacy, as progress since then has been made on returning the event cosmetics to those that lost them.
Edit: Nevermind. It was indeed answered in another thread. I was just looking at the patch note threads.. yikers. Thanks.

There's a section explaining it here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/108882/
But the short and sweet version is that we originally did not have a way to identify the people who had earned it, since it wasn't tracked. Since then, we found a way to do so, and so we're going to award them just to the people who had earned them. This way anyone who earned them and lost them due to loss of progress gets the back, which was the entire point of giving them away in the first place.
Are you still looking for a way to identify those that lost legacy cosmetics too? This gives me some hope.

It always does give me a good laugh after coming back from a long break and then being ranked with inexperienced players that accuse me of wallhacks.
When I point out I have BBQAC and Whispers they don't listen. I get reported anyway. Oh well. It's funny anyway and easy games for me.
Just ignore them.

It is frustrating. A few games ago I went for a lunge around a crate that the survivor was looping around, knowing I had the distance to hit the survivor. Yet, it kind of auto locked me onto the edge of the crate instead of letting me lunge around it like I intended.
It has been like this for ages. Mind you, I come across it quite rarely but when it happens it is annoying.
-
Thanks. Mind you, my priority is not lvling up the new killer, but lvling up the new survivor so I get can that juicy pallet perk on Claudette. Killers will likely break pallets like madmen for a few days but could still be fun!
Never thought you'd be able to lift a pallet backup... It's just great.
-
When I have a teammate running around clicking and following me for ages until I go down, they're not helping against good killers. All they're doing is prolonging the game because the gens would be faster.. if they repaired them.
Flashlight saves just are not a thing anymore against good killers. Go do some gens!
If I'm a killer and there's a "clicker" I'll just ignore them half the time if they waste time following me around whilst I chase another survivor. It is easy to avoid their flash save and means that at least 2 survivors are not doing gens.
-
They may think you're wasting pallets if you're simply running from one pallet to the next to the next without looping it or using windows to extend chases because you're not playing as efficiently as you could.
You should try and 'save' pallets where possible, hence loop jungle gyms where possible, loop the shack window and sometimes test the killers at pallets. They may 'respect' it giving you another loop around the pallet (if the loop is small enough). A good perk to test killers like this is dead hard.

None. I did have almost all my killers prestige 3 lvl 50 all perks, best add-ons, best offerings. Also had l3 Claudette and hillbilly... but then I lost my progress and I wasn't refunded enough BP to get all that again. So I have no one prestiged anymore and can't be bothered to grind all to p3 again. No more immersed Claudette gameplay!
Idc about p3 anymore anyway, but am a bit salty about legacy though.

*Flashbacks of trappers trapping under hooks*
But yeah, you couldn't have done much in that situation. In situations like that I just go looting chests and hope for a key... but you gotta get lucky.
-
It's already a great (albeit situational) perk. Doesn't need a buff.
-
Every time I launch the game it says 'EAC client cannot be instantiated' and I cannot play. Hopefully this is fixed soon.
-
1. Dead hard - Amazing because you can play more aggressively and test if a killer 'respects' the pallet. Also good for that extra boost you need sometime in order to pull down a pallet/vault a window before getting hit. Also helps against trappers in some cases.
2. Adrenaline - Big help end game, that speed boost and extra health state is great for making ground and is much appreciated when getting off the hook.
3. ... Not gonna lie I don't actually use any other exhaustion perk. Sprint burst used to be good but because you can't use it in chases anymore.. it's pretty bad. I'd say it's only good for people using it with urban evasion with an 'immersed' play style. It's OK as it can help get some ground against killers when using DS or when unhooked etc but it's just not worth running over DH in many cases.
Mind you I'm starting to not use DH so much anymore just because the dedicated servers make it harder to use, lots of add-ons nullify it, perks are being introduced to make it even harder to use etc.

They probably are having a hard time figuring out who had it and who didn't because they didn't have stuff on their server back then.
It's a shame, really. I am one of those people that ACTUALLY took the time to backup my save files when they were stored locally, as we used to be told to do so in stickied posts on the steam forum. I made over 50 backups.
But.. unfortunately for me I lost my legacy shortly after they switched to our saves being saved on their server. So I couldn't just swap with my old save file.
I emailed support then with my save file and asked them if they could simply use it but they said no, they cannot and I was only refunded BP. Sad times.

Haven't seen you in awhile. ?
Probably never.
You can try support again and see if they will restore it. I've heard of players getting Howling Grounds items back after losing them.
Nice to see you! I kinda just stayed on the steam forum when this forum was announced and haven't really been as active as I was. But I remember seeing you there!
But, yeah. Thought I'd give this a try. I've been emailing support regularly for the past 2 years with the same, or copy and pasted response, unfortunately. :/
