  • Since they did this they should rework other perks like Rancor. If you argue that DS gives a free escape end-game, perks like Rancor shouldn't exist in the way that they are. Rework it! It's a free insta down + Mori with no hooks required AND it tells you where the survivor is.

Also nerf NOED so it can't give a free kill if a survivor is hooked by it. Deactivate it in those scenarios and revert its current (future) nerf.

  • Eddie is my favourite character so yes please!

  • Ok but only if there is a 4% chance when a killer throws a survivor on a hook that they actually miss the hook and the survivor runs free 😎. Or a 4% when a killer kicks a pallet/gen that they hurt their leg severely and get a -5% speed reduction for the rest of the game.

  • Altogether, throughout the event 3000~. However I ended up only being able to save 500ish. I lost a lot of cakes because I was basically overwhelmed and got stuck with so many cakes on every survivor I had to keep prestiging them regardless of their cake count.

  • Personally I'll be enjoying CoH + Botany Knowledge

It's something streamers get tired of addressing. And a lot of viewers start off with that line and then escalate it into a debate about how filters are cheating. Not saying that's what you were doing, but it happens often. A lot of viewers seem to go out of their way to find streamers that aren't playing the way they like and then do everything they can to kill the vibe of their stream. Hence why that streamer may have instabanned for the question.

I post one video on the dbd subreddit where my gamma is high with NVIDIA filters and 70% or more of the comments are people complaining about it. Then it gets derailed into me trying to explain that 1) it is allowed and 2) why I use it etc etc etc. I have to explain how it probably looks higher brightness for them because my actual monitor brightness is low or I used high gamma because I didn't want to close the blinds and blah blah blah, it's awful. They still don't listen/understand and keep derailing the post. It's annoying!

I think people are just tired of having to explain themselves for using something that console players can't. Which I understand can be frustrating - but I will use it, it's allowed, it's convenient.

As for OP, I do think the streamer overreacted, or perhaps a rogue mod did. They should have instead just @ed you with a pre-written command that briefly explains the filters (if that question is asked a lot).

  • Sanctum of wrath is an awful map for survivors. Terrible "main" building with 1 extremely unsafe pallet and very bad windows.

Most of its pallets are very unsafe, there are little pallets to begin with and there can be huge deadzones. Furthermore it's a small map, with weird jungle gyms variations, one of which I've noticed doesn't spawn a window anymore (Does anyone know if this is a bug?) and 3 genning is very doable.

I'd go as far to say it's easily one of the most killer sided maps there is, if not the most killer sided map.

  • I knew it wouldn't be that great because of the hints BHVR gave us. But I was at the very least expecting it to be shown off in end game lobby, which I thought would be the minimum BHVR would do.

  • Imagine a Plague 3 genning a deadzone with buffed thana, buffed gen times, buffed overcharge, Call of Brine and Jolt. Oof.

  • To answer your title, yes.

E.g., if you have Claud P1, the rest of the survivors will get her teachable perks at tier 1. If you have her at P3 (no matter the lvl), every survivor will get tier 3 of her teachable perks.

  • I think you're muddling things up a bit. The exclusive "distinct rewards" were said to not be cosmetic or charms.

The "prestige awards" on the other hand is completely different to what BHVR was talking about. And they can be earned by anyone once the new system is released.

  • With the help of the event and both double BP's I've now got every survivor P3'd, all of which were non prestiged lvl 50 or below before. Within a month and 2 weeks (I've played... a lot).

Got all the masks, cosmetics. Bought all shrine perks every day that they have been reduced in price and now I've got just 500 shards :( but it was worth it

  • Personally I'd rather not have the blur, it would get old fast.

  • DH's don't tend to work most of the time against Nurses anyway

  • @JCZ said:

Just after reading the comments on here, I feel like a lot of people feel the same that the prestiged icon isnt really worth the literal hundreds of millions of bloodpoints i put into the game. I definitely dont think this is the biggest issue with the game right now but is definitely disappointing.

Pretty sure you'll also be put at a much higher prestige, close if not already prestige 7,8 or 9 (if you've unlocked all perks at P3). And at those prestiges you also unlock charms, so that's something else I suppose.

Also keep in mind that those that aren't already P3 will have to get all the way to P6 to unlock the current P3 cosmetic (*I think!*).

    Complaining about Trapper.

    kek.

Complaining about already oppressive camping strategies being buffed, yes.

  • There's no reason it should have a skillcheck. The players missing the skillcheck are the ones that need it the most - the ones lagging or... inexperienced players.

  • @ChurchofPig said:

If 24 meters away is your idea of proxy camping, then yes Basement Trapper is completely buffed and so are camping Killers in general

All the trapper has to do is sit 24 meters away (if he wants to), which is not far (as demonstrated by devour hope). If anyone disarms a trap they'll be injured and is an early warning sign for the trapper if they didn't already see them. Now, they run down and unhook. Whilst they're doing so the trapper resets the trap. Both survivors are now dead unless the unhooked one has DS.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/331393/basement-trappers-are-getting-a-buff-with-the-next-patch-along-with-camping-in-general

You shouldn't have been able to DH through traps in the first place, it was dumb. You get to go thru the traps meanwhile trapper can't, he then has to waste time either picking up the trap to which he now has to place back all over again, or have to go all the way around whatever loop you've just DH'd through to get to you without setting off his own trap.

Hell, if the trap is in a one way place he literally HAS to pick it up and now again, he to place it all over again.

The point is this camping playstyle is being buffed, regardless of whether you agreed with DHing through traps. Also to make it clear: I'm not suggesting that you should still be able to DH through traps.

Also it's not exclusive to Trapper. Nurses can use range and camp with Monstrous Shrine + MYC, Resonance, Agi/Deadlock. Hag with MYC, Mint Rag (TP to any trap), Monstrous Shrine etc.

Essentially, camping builds in general are buffed which I don't think is a good thing.

  • As a killer I can not decide where to place my Hex, on which totem. As a survivor I can decide where to place my Boon on which totem.

That's a good thing, it varies but the best hexes work instantly from the start of the match. As demonstrated by inexperienced killers beelining straight to their hexes at the start of the match: the hex would only be easier to locate with your suggestion.

As a killer my Hex only has 1 life and after cleansed it is broken (if you use no other perk for this). As a Survivor I have infinite lifes for my Boon and I don't even need a second perk for this.

Yes but Boons require survivors to locate and then spend time blessing the totem, including every time it is snuffed. Time that could otherwise be spent on gens.

Yeah Hex Perks are very strong, but Boon: Circle of Healing is also VERY strong

    True

And to top it all off, I as a killer cannot destroy the totem itself. I can not, never impeede, that a suvivor boons one of my totems, because I cannot destroy them. While survivors CAN impeede for example NOED (even though I dont play it) by destroying all my totems.

Actually I believe there's a dedicated perk where you can break totems now as killer. Not saying it's worth it in the slightest but, yea. And survivors destroying all totems before NOED activates means they have spent less time on gens so you're still getting very good value out of it (just from NOED existing even if it's not equipped).

I created this threat because in my last match a survivor booned totems over 10 times and the suvivors could constantly heal themself and others (faster) with this. Where is that balanced?

That's 2:30+ minutes of just blessing a totem, and that's presuming they also didn't bless any hex totems. Which is the equivalent of more than 2 solo gens being done. (This does not also include all the time they would have "wasted" running back to keep re-blessing the totem).

    Also:

    • A hexes power is map wide, a boons power is within 24 meters of it.
    • The only boon worth running is CoH, maybe Shadowstep. But imagine if you couldn't re-bless totems? All boons would be not worth running, except again, maybe CoH.
  • So presuming you have the Endurance effect for a split second after the animation, one of its only uses will be to get that tiny bit of protection distance needed to pull a pallet down. And it would have to be timed very well.

It could still be good against Nurse and Trickster, Huntress if timed well.

So it's a huge nerf as (from what it looks like) it won't give enough time to vault a window protected. Or unhook with 1 second of Endurance etc all because of the animation lock.

You got a response? I reported someone a few months back for using slurs against me in end game chat. Never heard a peep if any action was taken.

All of my tickets are marked as "Solved" sooner or later. If I was you I'd reply to your own ticket because it looks like they missed it somehow.

If the player you reported is on steam by the way, you can check if they have a game ban on their profile. I've reported people telling me to "#########" before and they have been perma banned and although the devs didn't directly tell me this, I saw so by looking at their steam profile.

Unfortunately there is no way to know if a player was temp banned as BHVR don't tell you.

They can receive a temporary ban for doing this.

1st strike is typically 24h with escalating length

Also I hope OP updates if their ticket got a reply

It got "solved" with a generic thank you for the report message. That's all I know. Definitely didn't feel worth going through all the hassle of reporting. Although, it'd be nice to know how many minutes count as "holding the game hostage". That way if it happens again I can wait maybe 10 mins instead of an hour to report them.

How? Do you win very often? My survival rate is around 60% and I see her so rarely.

9/33 games yesterday, I play a lot. And yes I also win a lot... but I am often in at least a duo SWF that is very very experienced.

  • I go against Nurses very often. 9 times today.

    • If you can recover fast enough with 8 stacks of STBFL with the new buffed attack recovery speed to completely deny a solo unhook trade.
    • How DH can be used. People say there is still an animation. Does that mean you can't really use it before vaulting/pulling down a pallet? How does it work now?
    • Deja Vu now gives a 5% gen repair speed boost on certain gens. How is this when combined with Prove Thyself and a good toolbox? And how is it when you also use Resilience and Overzealous (or if you feel like it No Mither to get Resilience value instantly). Very fast gens?
    • How good is Botany Knowledge value with WGLF/We'll Make It/CoH or even Desperate Measures? Healing should be super quick now, especially if you use a medkit too. I can imagine using CoH and Botany Knowledge to essentially bring CoH back to its old healing speeds.
    • How insane is buffed Hope and No One Left Behind with Guardian and Blood Pact? Along with the base unhook haste speed? That's 35% haste speed for a few seconds, 14% of which lasts for the rest of the game.

I can imagine that with some bully SWF's against a 110% killer in end game with 14% haste forever, the killer will end up opening the gate to force the game to end. (RIP spooky myers players).

  • I think it's something to do with looking up and then flicking, but unsure.

  • - Remove her ability to modify a blinks length from looking down at the floor

    - Have some sort of turn rate cap when she blinks. Right now nurses can have a high DPI and can do a very quick 360 after a blink to get a hit

    - Rework range and recharge addons

    - Make her blink attacks count as a special attack (like Blights)

Although perhaps before doing all of that simply nerf her broken addons. Then we can return to see how broken addonless(ish) nurses really are, or not. It's hard to remember after all this time because every nurse brings one or both broken addons.

  • I know my performance became A LOT smoother when I forced DX12 to be used. You could try it. Close DBD. Open steam, right click on DBD Properties. On the General tab at the bottom where it says "LAUNCH OPTIONS" paste: "-dx12" (without the quotation marks).

I uploaded a video trying to compare both DX11 and DX12 in DBD a while back but kept it unlisted because its meh. But especially at 0:46 you can see I have a much smaller FPS drop on DX12 than I did on DX11. It's also more smooth overall as seen in the video.

    here

  • I knew pretty early on it was gonna be pretty meh from what Mandy was saying. It's basically what I expected it to be, something to "show off" in lobbies or endgame or whatever.

I didn't prestige Trapper or Jake in 2016 for legacy even though I had them at lvl 50ish - because of the harsh grind. The grind then became a lot easier and I regretted it very much!

Of course, it's not legacy but I'm not making the same mistake this time even though it is just an exclusive prestige logo/banner. The grind will become SO much easier there's really no point not trying to P3 everyone - excluding the fact if u want to keep rare items/offerings. If you play a lot like me, soon enough you'll have everyone P3'd anyway, with max perks.

Oh, lucky you, I know you have Legacy Gear. (We played against each other several times). Yes, the grind was hard and I also had Legacy with my first account at the time. Unfortunately that disappeared due to the bug with the bad ressets, and I still think it's a shame that BHVR hasn't found a way to at least give people (who lost their gear due to the bug) their gear back. 😪

I know BHVR finally after years of leading us on publicly said they were no longer going to (try to) refund legacy... but you never know, maybe someday 🤞

This perk went from nice A tier to D/F tier. It's bad.

They even removed the vault speed build part of it... I can only imagine they've done that so that they can introduce a perk dedicated to just that in the future.

  • I'm too far gone even though it's meh I'm still going for all survivors P3'd. + Hillbilly

  • Imagine end game Off The Record. Now imagine end game Deliverance + Off The Record. With the gate already open, the killer literally won't be able to do anything (unless they have good mobility).

  • @neb said:

Why in the world did they nerf the stun?? That's just incentivizing killers to go after the person that just DSed them.

It's like DS stun when Enduring could counter it. It'll be basically worthless against Blight or Nurse even more so than it already is.

  • @Viskod said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3015429#Comment_3015429

5 seconds is plenty of time for that, and if you still bring Borrowed Time, then its 15 seconds.

I'm talking about the timeframe of baiting out a hit, unhooking and then both survivors running into each other to try and get the killer to take the BT hit.

Because the killer will recover from the hit faster, it looks like there won't be enough time to do this.

  • @TAG said:

It means the Survivor can't just DH at will to reach the pallet. They now have to time the DH for when the Killer swings to make it to that pallet.

They will still be able to do this though, right? Won't running with 1 second of BT cover the distance of old DH anyway? So it's really not that different, if not better? And it would mean you have the choice of pulling the pallet or just taking a hit and saving the pallet whilst you run to a safer loop (if hit)?

WORST thing is (for killers at least), I'm guessing they will NOT have any indication on whether a survivor has used their DH or not. So right now you can bait out a DH right? Well with the new DH you will never know if they really used it or not. That's a scary thought.

  • I'm not looking forward to the proxy camping Make Your Choice and Monstrous Shrine combos (and potentially Devour Hope too).

  • @Seanzu said:

With generators taking longer, and basic successful cooldown taking less time, won't killers be able to down survivors trying to trade and buy more time even better now?

Oh wow, so baiting a hit, unhooking and trying to get the survivor to take a hit with BT will no longer be a thing I guess. The window is probably too short for that now, even though it was awkward to do already.

That sucks! No more solo plays.

  • First impressions is that it mighttttttttttt be better? You just active it whenever you think you'll be hit over a window. Now you'll also get a nice speed bonus to run across the map whilst the killer is swiping their blade. Or activate it when you think you won't reach the pallet. (Of course you'll have to be close though).

You can also use it better at small loops where DHing is awkward or around corners where it would have been bad/awkward to do so before.

Also better for desperate unhooks, taking a hit for other people that are being tunneld, etc.

  • I swear the buffed the tier 1 and 2 version to match the heal speed of tier 3 of it years ago because it was SO slow. Whilst just adjusting the item efficiency bonus between tiers.

Bad change for self-care. Although if you want to farm survival points, keep Claud at P1 I suppose.

  • Since the progression reveal I've P3'd 17 survivors and have many more stuck at P1 and P2 whilst I use all my Flans on them. It's going good although there have been rumours that the progression update is next month, so sooner than I thought.

I'm hoping to P3 all survivor characters and Hillbilly before the update. I will need to go on a special mission though before P3ing Claudette to transfer my ONE and only 3rd year firecracker to a friend and then having it transferred back when I get to P3.

  • Without button configuration? Why not? Personally I rebind crouch to C and killer things like reloading clowns bottles or tping as a hag to C.

My thumb rests kinda between my spacebar (vault) and C button so it's very easy.

I moved to PC shortly before the Xbox One came out and it took a bit but moving with WASD feels completely natural now. I only prefer controller when driving vehicles in games now. Otherwise I feel limited.

By the way, other than the C button (for crouching or whatnot), if I ever feel like a button is hard to press my go to is to just rebind it to mouse4/mouse5 (side mouse buttons).

  • Bit off topic. But imagine facing basement trappers when DH gets nerfed. Awful thought! Hopefully it doesn't get too popular.

Anyway when DH gets nerfed I imagine players will just replace it with perks like Prove Thyself, SB, Lithe or Adrenaline.

Vault speed build might pickup a bit in popularity too since it has some of the benefits a DH for distance gives (albeit to a lesser extent, but at least it's consistent).

  • Demogorgon's are good at shutting down greedy plays and can shut down survivors at TL walls and shack easily. He's not OP though. You just have to take this in mind and not be greedy. E.g., if you're at a TL loop, play around 1 window (the stronger one) rather than both.

He's good but definitely not deserving of a nerf. He is also rare(ish) to see nowadays.

  • I'm in a bit of a pickle to be honest. I'm getting too many cakes! I can't get myself to keep prestiging characters when they gather 30-40 cakes from lvl 1-50. So I have to keep playing them until I use them all!

Only problem is I have about 7 characters with this problem now and the backlog is only increasing! I am forcing myself to prestige characters I wasn't ready to yet because I need to use the BP somewhere...

    I know, I know, such a huge issue :/

Nah they just want all killers to be the same strat Hold W and pre drop pallets

It used to be that players would say "survivors just want M1 killers to easily loop". But now that there are many anti-loop killers, the sentiment has changed to: "survivors just want to be able to 'hold w and pre drop pallets' against all killers"

In reality, holding W and pre-dropping only became more prominent the more and more anti-loop killers were introduced. And unfortunately, it is what has to be done against many killers nowadays, otherwise killers will take advantage of your misplay.

  • It's for this reason that I find that playing Nurse (with the most broken stuff especially) to speedrun sacrifice challenges is actually detrimental. DCs don't count towards it. Very consistent DCs at 4/5 gens.

I don't blame them for it whatsoever.

  • Years ago when they changed Nurse so she could blink from a lower height to a higher height and vice versa, this also introduced blinking down at the ground to reduce/alter the blink distance (not sure if this was intentional). If the devs make it so Nurses can't readjust her blink she'll have to go the distance she actually held her blink for (like Nurse used to be like).

This would buff double backing. Nurses would no longer be able to hold their blink, they'd have to commit.

Yes this would reduce her QOL.

Although even after writing all this I'd much rather a full rework.

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 31
