  • As survivor I like being chased by most killers, but despite of this I normally try to avoid being chased. It's kind of weird. I'm therefore normally on gens all game although of course go and unhook survivors whenever necessary.

As killer I try to get as many hooks as possible. I don't play to pip, I play to have fun, gain BP and sacrifice survivors. That means I have no issue tunneling or standing near hooks or giving survivors hatch. I just play however I want to.

  • After some hesitation, I ended up using some custom reskins of perks, addons etc a while ago for about a month.

Despite hearing no one had ever been banned for it, it was always in the back of my mind that there was a slim chance I could be banned.

After about a month the reskins became boring. So I switched back to default. IMO it's just not worth it. You may well soon get bored of them like I did.

  • I played Resident Evil 2 and actually finished the game to my surprise, a while back. Great game. Pretty cool that I'll be able to play in the police station again and have a bit of an idea about the layout of the map.

  • Pretty sure a bug like this is why ultra rare perks were moved to the very rare perk category. Funny how the bug has resurfaced again.

Hillbilly. P3'd him just before the legacy prestige cut off date.

  • At the very start of my dbd experience, I played with 3 other friends. We all chose a different character to play and I ended up with Jake.

Although after a while I ended up switching to Claudette... which my friend did not approve!

As survivor, you will get stuck on and slide off the hay bail. As killer I have never had this issue.

I've had the same problem, however haven't tried the harvester trick enough to see whether I'm just somehow doing it wrong. This is because I don't see the point in doing it anymore since you no longer have the smooth bounce which let you keep running. Now you kind of do an awkward bounce that is much less efficient than before.

  • Unsure, but I do understand your frustrations. That's why I've started playing Blight more recently.

  • This is my first screenshot:

    download.jpg

Was helping someone out on the steam forums with questions regarding Adrenaline!

To be honest though, I don't remember my actual first DBD memory. But I do remember maining Jake when I first started playing and was a shameless Sabouteur Jake.

  • I can't remember the last time I thought "Wow, I didn't pip!!!". But maybe that's because it's just so easy as survivor to get to red ranks. I pay no attention whatsoever to the pip/emblem system or change my actions in game to try to pip because I'll end up at red rank regardless on both roles if I play enough.

That being said, a ranking system should still be a thing in DBD. Yes, it's a pretty poor system at the moment. But can you imagine having teams consisting of rank 20's with 20 minutes play time? It'd be really, really bad. I'd end up lobby dodging survivors... as a survivor.

If rank wasn't a thing I might not entirely quit, since I would probably play more killer. But even as killer I'd imagine it'd get boring quickly trying to find immersed survivors every game. Or it'd be boring killing survivors every game that don't even look behind them. So all in all, the ranking system should be a thing (although needs to be improved).

  • Can anyone confirm whether Zombies follow pebbles? Would be interesting if they did because apparently they follow scratchmarks.

  • Are crowns different to last years crowns?

Can Head On kill zombies or just stun them? Don't wanna waste a pallet to despawn a zombie that returns after some time.

I'd presume so since pallets do. But still not 100% sure so haven't specifically mentioned that in the list above yet.

  • New code for 10 rift fragments: ANNIVERSARYFRAGMENTS

    • When first greeting a survivor it is curtesy to tbag.
    • Survivors must be shamed if they miss a skillcheck on a gen your working on with them (AKA point at them).
    • In a 2v1 hatch situation, the survivor caught should suicide on the hook asap.
    • Survivors with more hook states left should take pressure away from other survivors that are e.g. on deathhook. (AKA Don't hide and let the guy on deathhook be found first if the killer is coming).
    • Almost always 99% doors
  • If I had to, I'd remove Quentin, Tapp and Jeff. Very rare to see anyone play them and they all have meh perks.

  • This somehow made me hate playing against Spirit even more. The way Spirit can even tell if you slow vault back over a pallet by listening to the survivor grunt. I never even thought about that. He literally knew everything the Ace was doing... all without Stridor too.

  • Spirit, Deathslinger, Hag, The Twins.

I know, I've been around since the beginning. What I'm saying is that because of how busted grabs are even what should have been a grab will turn into a hit. so the action isn't just a psych out, it's a combination of the psych out and the glitch. If this glitch were to be fixed, the tapping at unhooks would probably not be as effective as it is and thus less often abused because it's more risky

So why do you think survivors should be punished for baiting unhooks? The grab bug existing is not their fault. When a killer is in facecamping range, baiting the unhook is necessary whether the bug exists or not.

  • Well of the top of my head I can imagine some animation bugs with blight and nurse. There's a bug where you can't pick survivors up in a certain spot. Dead Hard is very buggy. Breakdown exploit was recently fixed.

Basically, whenever there's a new patch it'll introduce new bugs, or reintroduce older ones without question. For example: Known issues with this chapter, a lovingly crafted list for your viewing pleasure ( 153 bugs now! ) — Dead By Daylight

  • I always imagine the image of looking down from old bloodlodge at the immense amount of pallets on the map.

    • Survivor main. I play killer almost exclusively in order to complete challenges. Don't like the stress, at all.
    • I'm a good sport most of the time. As someone who used to play killer a lot at red ranks I know how frustrating killer can be so almost never do silly stuff like tbag or click.
    • Well I did plan to P3 all characters all perks before losing all my progress. I was well on my way. But now I aim to max out all characters at LVL 50 with all perks.
    • Yes I sometimes do get tilted. Mostly because of the poor matchmaking.
    • I bought one cosmetic with auric cells to go along with my Howling Ground jacket for David. I regret doing so. Other than that I purchase cosmetics with shards.

yeah... unfortunately this seems like the best strat. Hope for altruistic survivors and expect a lot of salt in after game chat.

    My kind of gameplay?

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2197969#Comment_2197969

What part of me downing all 4 survivors WITHIN 10 SECONDS is so hard to grasp that you toxic sad people keep attacking me and making up scenarios about me being an evil slugger? If the toxic survivors ######### up and I down all 4 of them, I won. Some magic second chance perk shouldn't show up to save the day.

"Had a million matches in which I manage to down all 4, but nop, everyone has unbreakable". You implied you tend to slug a lot.

  • Unbreakable is supposed to counter your kind of play style. It served its purpose. It's a good thing it exists, otherwise we might be seeing slug builds and thus slug fests every other game. Which might be easier to deal with as SWF, but not as solo. Unbreakable is fine.

  • I don't play killer much, but when I do if there is a really good player in a team of potato players which cause them to lose, I feel kind of bad and sometimes give them the hatch.

Or sometimes I'll give someone the hatch in hopes of not double pipping.

  • Sprint Burst is good, but isn't better than DH IMO as others are saying. DH allows for aggressive/bold plays with the safety net of knowing you can probably dead hard to the closest pallet/window if the play goes wrong.

It's also great against certain killer abilities, most notably: Nurse, Huntress, Trapper, Doctor, Pyramid Head. And decent against dodging lunges from killers like Oni, Blight, Spirit and Pig.

  • It'd be cool to see more exclusives. Although if so, they should actually be exclusive and not have a messed up save system. Every exclusive I owned (except Deathgarden exclusives) has either been given away or lost due to a faulty save file system. I am surprised Deathgarden exclusives haven't been given away yet.

  • Powerful: Unbreakable, Adrenaline, Decisive Strike, Dead Hard, Sprint Burst, Borrowed Time, Iron Will, Spine Chill.

Kind of powerful: Lithe, Prove Thyself, WGLF, Deliverance, Self-Care, We'll Make It.

Alright(ish): Inner Strength, Any Means Necessary, OoO.

Good for solo queue: Bond, Kindred.

    Rest of the perks: Meh.

  • Best survivor perks right now are probably:

    1. Dead Hard
    2. Iron Will
    3. Borrowed Time

Hard to say what the next best perk is. But tbh I'd probably consider Spine Chill rating just above Adrenaline, DS, Unbreakable and Sprint Burst.

But it all depends, really. On Lery's or The Game for example I'd consider Spine Chill the best perk. Whereas on other maps where you can often see killers coming from a mile away, it's not so good, but still nice to have.

  • Was playing some DBD for about 2 hours with my brother until 20 minutes ago.

  • To be honest so much stuff has changed throughout DBD's life I can't pinpoint an exact patch I'd want to return to in terms of the games balance, besides for nostalgic reasons.

But I do kind of wish the game could be reverted back to pre-crossplatform. I always used to see the same faces... people who have been playing like me for years. I used to recognize people's steam usernames and have a silly chat before the game started.

But now I hardly ever see the same players and it's even rarer to see the older players I used to see a lot. I also used to play against streamers a lot before crossplatform - it was a lot of fun seeing their perspective of the game afterwards. Nowadays half the players I play with I can't even interact with in post or after game chat. No one is familiar. Makes me sad.

Edit: Also just to clarify I realize there is an option to disable crossplatform. But I imagine it would take a very long time to find a game and that hardly anyone else uses that option.

  • Before the latest patch, if no one was running an obsession perk killers could easily tunnel a survivor off a hook because they knew no one had DS. Now they can't without risking a 5 second stun because there's always an obsession. Always a chance to be punished.

So similarly with BT, killers have the knowledge that an unhooked survivor COULD have the BT effect. This reduces tunneling because killers COULD be punished if they choose to go for the unhooked survivor.

The reason killers shouldn't know whether a survivor has the BT effect is because if you don't run BT you'd essentially be encouraging tunneling. It'd be like having a sign above the unhooked survivors head saying "You can slug/down me because I don't have the endurance effect".

TLDR: BT currently discourages killers from going for the unhooked survivor precisely because they don't know whether they have the BT effect or not. If they did know when a survivor didn't have the BT effect, it'd encourage tunneling when there is no BT effect. So survivors would be even more incentivized to use the already meta perk, BT.

  • Most of my friend group from 2016 rarely play this game anymore. It's pretty much just me and my brother who tend to play for weeks at a time, get burnt out, find a new game, eventually get tired of that and repeat.

  • I used to tell myself I only run it for BP too. But after running it for years without fail, I decided to not use it for a game. I was left very confused after hooking a survivor and no longer seeing auras... I had to actually think where each survivor could be. Strange thought. Not taking it off again!

It's actually superb for gathering information, even when it doesn't show auras. Also amazing for snowballing.

  • Yeah, I forgot once earlier today and spammed space. I think I was a little triggered for some reason or another, so I completely forgot and instinctively started spam pressing my spacebar in frustration...

  • I would love a dedicated setting to completely mute all menu sounds. They're repetitive and loud. I muted the menus music years ago and never looked back since but sadly can't do the same with general menu sounds without muting everything else.

At the start and end of every game I adjust the main volume to either mute or unmute the game. It's rather annoying having to spam click to get to the perfect percentage quickly, since holding down increases in increments much too slowly. So it'd be awesome to have these options:

    dc35ea0-1.jpg

(Made this edit before menu setting changes).

  • I tried to think of a map people normally don't hate, but came to the conclusion that every map is hated for some reason or another. But anyway I dislike Lery's as killer and survivor. Awful map for many killers and you can spend ages simply trying to catch up to a survivor that is zig zagging through the entire map... especially when playing a 110% killer. I hate that. I dislike it somewhat as survivor since totems are hard to find and stealth killers usually get free hits unless I'm using Spinechill.

there are people out there selling legacy legit accounts for thousands of dollars, which is very sad, i feel sorry for people who waste money on accounts. reminds me of wow mounts sells online or pokemon cards.

but those are some cards that u can physically can keep, if dbd ever dies then all the progress and skins will die with it.

legacy should be made viable, and special physical cards or some trophy couldve been the real exclusive items.

legacy should be made viable, and special physical cards or some trophy couldve been the real exclusive items.

You think every person who prestiged before the legacy deadline should have had a trophy delivered to them IRL? That's insane. And what about the exclusivity of those trophies? Should they have hypothetically been made available again in 2017, 2018, 2019 etc because you didn't get them in 2016?

Legacy prestige is a reward for the players who played at the start of this game's life. When there was a huge grind, huge game breaking imbalances and no one knew the longevity of the game. That's why players who prestiged were rewarded 'Legacy' skins. The game was in its infancy.

If the Devs want to release more exclusives, so be it. Could even be a blue variant of legacy. But never the original legacy as it would defeat its entire purpose.

  • If you want to find new players to play with, the dead by daylight Discord server is probably a good place to go. Once you've joined it, look for the "looking-for-group" chat and talk to players there.

Just google dead by daylight discord, unsure if I can link it.

  • This is certainly the most optimal strategy, although of course when playing solo you'd have to rely on other survivors doing this. In solo it might therefore be better to repair a gen but play overly cautious. If the killer wants to chase you, make sure you're far away from active gens by the time they catch up to you. If they don't commit, rinse and repeat.

  • I wouldn't go as far as to call it cheating, but do acknowledge it provides an advantage you otherwise wouldn't have. But that's the same with other things such as users with larger resolutions and for people who turn up their brightness.

All of these provide an advantage, but all of them (except perhaps resolutions) are pretty much unenforceable by BHVR. You can't stop someone drawing a crosshair on their screen or from monitor manufacturers from allowing brightness settings, for example.

  • Seems like a good buff, but situational. I'd still never use it.

  • 2: The killer basically always knows your "general" location, more action.

Isn't this only the case when you're the obsession? I played 2 games of OoO and was obsession in those 2 games. It was fun to use, but I imagine it as a mediocre perk when not the obsession. And I'd rather not equip OoO simply in the hopes of being the obsession, only to waste a perk slot.

  • Nope and it's not very good anyway. If you have a good item like a key, just drop it before being hit and it won't be consumed by the entity. It should be buffed so that any item on the floor is on a timer IMO.
