  • I don't mind it if the killer clearly knows where the last healthy/injured survivor is, or if they're looking for the hatch before hooking. But slugging for 4 mins is otherwise really annoying.

It's more comparable to the last 2 survivors wasting minutes of the killers time by not doing gens and just hiding, waiting for the other to be found so they get the hatch.

  • I was someone who really didn't like the animation changes, mostly because I didn't think they needed changing. I didn't like how so many graphical things were changing. Graphically reworked maps, default killer and survivor skins and new animations that had been there since 2016.

But to be honest I really like the animations now. I got used to them quickly. Wouldn't want them reverted. Even the new UI has grown on me. But still don't like the BP placement at the top right.

  • What I'm also concerned about is the potential for really hard camping hooks. Many of the hallways are so tight the killer could easily body block the ways to the unhook.

  • Bots are kinda funny. I like the little tbags they give when they want to heal you and you're ignoring them.

  • Yeah just realized this when facing a Trapper in tutorial mode... ran right into the trap!

  • You can purchase each character separately in the in-game DBD store for auric cells. I presume they wait to release it on the steam store since (I presume again) they get more of the profits via in-game purchases.

It's annoying though. I'm waiting for it to be released in the steam store since I'm pretty sure it'll be cheaper overall.

  • Am I right to believe you cannot use a key to open the hatch once it has been fully consumed? So isn't this actually a buff in regards to keys? I presume it is consumed faster than it would be destroyed with the old FD.

Although there could be interesting counter plays to this by using Built To Last, which is kinda cool.

    Edit: I have been corrected!

  • Laurie isn't doing a good job at hiding.

  • The Devs/Mods will always say that you edit files at your own risk and if you get banned they can't unban you. But I (and I presume many others) have had their FPS uncapped (or capped to 120 FPS) since 2016/2017 with no issues at all. In fact I've known of a mod (or former mod?) suggesting they've uncapped their FPS too.

  • I'd say PGTW is the best standalone killer perk.

  • Very close between Dead Hard and Iron Will. BT comes third.

  • Lerys, gameplay wise. One of the best maps for survivor to hold shift + w on. Good luck tracking and keeping up, especially as a 110% killer. Half the game you'll probably be trying to initiate a chase. I also really dislike it as survivor when going against stealthy killers or e.g. tinkerer. With no Spinechill, the killer will usually get a free hit/down and there's nothing I can do about it.

  • I've saved a bunch of nodes to claim for the chapter. But no BP because for some reason I thought the chapter would be releasing July 15th... so confused about when all the content is releasing.

But it's fine because I'll get to 1 million BP before it's released anyway.

  • Too strong. I don't play on this map very often so unsure if it's common, but in some games 2 additional windows spawn right next to it. There is a breakable wall for those windows, but seems a tad excessive.

  • Used it a couple of times in a SWF with Unbreakable + DS when it was first released. But haven't used it at all recently.

PC players aren't any better than console players

Not sure if this is the point though. The people turning off crossplay on PC happen to try a lot harder and have a lot of experience than the average crossplay on game (no matter whether the players faced are on PC or console) from my experience so far.

I've played with and against many tournament players too, it's as if they all go on crossplay off to practise when not in KYF.

  • From the UK here. Have been playing with cross-play off for about a week now and the difference between cross-play on matches is big. Teammates are better, killers are a lot more experienced. I'm consistently playing with others with 1k+ hours. It's pretty much just Nurse/Blight every game, but still a fun challenge.

  • Playing on PC mostly with cross play off atm. But that's only because it's like a more tryhard/competitive mode.

  • Dead Hard, Iron Will, We're Gonna Live Forever, Borrowed Time.

  • Doesn't matter what graphical settings you have set. The FPS limit for PC is 62~ FPS.

It can only go higher if you edit the game files to do so. (Which by the way I have done for years with no issue) and is very easy to do.

  • It's a great perk and although it works with other exhaustion perks, it still makes you exhausted every time. So it's annoying when I'm already healthy and don't need the speed boost. If the killer then starts chasing me, I won't have ded ard in that chase.

  • Games have been more sweaty than usual, but also a welcome challenge with good teammates for the most part.

Actually feels rewarding to work well with other great survivors and win against skilled/experienced killers.

I won't lie though. There have definitely been some really awful games. But yeah... MMR is interesting.

  • WGLF is actually really helpful against sluggers and heals insanely quickly, especially with a Medkit too. Use it for both the extra BP and for anti-slugging. But it'd be nice if it allowed for stacks to be earned in more ways.

    cool!

i still wont be wearing them, but at least it makes me feel better for grinding them on every available character back then! xD

I was sure they'd re-release the same crowns this year, although got them on all characters too. Still, never wear them though. Pleasantly surprised.

  • The current model looks much better.

  • I had a similar experience. Constant DCs due to the steam servers. Something should be done.

  • I still use Ruin + Undying on most builds. It's still really good, just not as ridiculous as it used to be.

As an added bonus it also keeps tokens for Devour Hope which is nice if I ever feel like using it.

  • Just don't get caught 4Head.

If a killer is set on tunneling/camping, that's what they'll do. A hard camping Bubba will always at the very least get the trade if the unhooker is using BT.

Unfortunately, the best thing your team can do is crack on with gens. Best thing you can do is try to last in the chase as long as possible and not attempt escape from the hook.

  • Don't have legacy anymore, but... these are my prestige achievements:

    image.png

I played absolutely non stop, sometimes staying up all night and day. Was very addicted to the game... and still am. The above achievements are all just to get one character to P3 (Claudette). I also managed to squeeze in P3 for Hillbilly just before the legacy deadline. I believe I got him to P3 on the 23rd of November 2016.

  • Dead Hard, Iron Will, Deliverance, Adrenaline.

Or one that I sometimes use when I'm feeling really desperate:

Plunderers Instinct, Appraisal, Dead Hard, Iron Will. Basically 2 meta perks, but also 2 perks to help you (with some luck) find a key in dire situations. Basically, when you've already done all you can to salvage the game but all survivors keep getting downed instantly and you know it's only a matter of time, go loot some chests.

This is assuming a constant low ping and 60fps on all players

    *Sad trickster noises*

  • Very controversial topic so except many different answers. But I wouldn't bother cleansing dull totems unless:

    • You have a perk/build around cleansing totems
    • The game is very clearly in your favour. AKA you have plenty of time with little pressure and no one is on death hook.
    • You really want BP.
    • Your in a 3-4 man SWF that can easily communicate how many totems are left and all contribute.

People may say to cleanse totems to avoid NOED but most of the time the killer isn't running NOED. If they are, chances are you or another survivor will find it when it activates.

If it's a close game, NOED should be the least of your concerns. Those gens need to be repaired ASAP - then start worrying about NOED.

I've got about 10 other funny memes I want to share but not sure if reddit links are allowed here. They are videos so I'd have to paste the reddit posts. Also just to be clear I didn't make these.

The problem is they can go against a certain killer numerous times and loop them and it's fine, but as soon as they go against someone that uses them well and beats them they're OP and need to be nerfed.

It's not that Deathslinger is OP. He's just really boring in the 1v1 situation. You never know when he is going to shoot, so his mere existence has you zig zagging all over the place. He has no windup time, meaning you can't react - you don't know when or if he will shoot at any given time if the killer shoots immediately. This makes playing against him very tedious... and boring.

  • Lightburn should stay. It's a neat mechanic that can be dodged by wary Wraiths. I haven't seen a Nurse lightburned in a very long time, so it's very easily avoidable with her.

Also you say the developers are moving away from items that counter killer powers, but the zombies introduced next chapter can be stunned temporarily with a flashlight. Which is also a nice mechanic. The Hag's traps is the only killers ability that should be immune to flashlights IMO. They're too strong against her.

  • This is always funny to look back on:

    ic9ei63tir831.png

Spoiler: I have not eliminated the game and am not VAC banned by EAC.

Edit: I guess this isn't actually endgame chat but close enough...

  • At rank 1 I'm playing against a lot of Wraiths lately.

  • I wouldn't say Wraith requires 0 skill. But I've always found the hit and run strategy extremely boring, most notably on in-door maps. Without Spinechill or possibly SWF giving great comms, it's a guessing game when he's coming for his next free hit.

This playstyle has been buffed since you can't see him coming anymore until he is very close. It's just very boring. There is little to no chases, just me repairing a generator wondering when the Wraith will get his next free hit/down. Rinse and repeat. I really don't like getting hit for free.

  • Trapper, Trickster, Legion.

Trapper needs to be able to carry multiple traps basekit and shouldn't have to roam around entire maps to collect traps. He needs more buffs than that but I can't think of how to go about it.

Unsure how to buff Trickster. Unsure how to buff Legion. I think it's hard to buff legion because he's already excellent at making survivors injured. But he needs some kind of buff.

  • I can see the developers eventually nerfing it by removing the invulnerability frames, even though it is best used and most complained about when used for distance.

The problem is, the invulnerability frames is the only thing the Devs can really nerf without completely reworking the perk. And I don't see them doing that.

  • I have played against a few. But this was years ago and nothing really exciting happend. Also I have probably played with more recently but just haven't realized it.

But years ago when I used to main killer and wanted killers buffed more I remember once or twice people would mock me in after game chat. With something along the lines of "Keep crying on the forums that survivors are OP".

  • Playing against Hag's is usually a miserable experience. Yesterday I played against a Hag with Mint Rag + Make Your Choice literally just camping every hook from a distance:

    https://youtu.be/3FgvMgJ8F4U

    Very nice gameplay.

  • Rarest achievement is "One thousand cuts"... which I literally got last night. 0.70% of players have it apparently.

Hardest was probably the Deep Cleansing. But honestly I don't aim to complete achievements, I just got the vast majority by just playing as I normally would.

Most common achievement I haven't got is Adept Nea. Only ever did the adept achievements for the original killers and survivors and accidentally did so with deathslinger.

  • I'll be racking up the 5th Anniversary BP cakes specifically to use when the chapter is released. I hope others do the same (please do!).

  • Blight.

    image.png

Actually been playing Blight a lot lately. Blight has actually made me enjoy playing killer again.

  • Yea, prices are too high. I've only ever bought 1 cosmetic with auric cells. Purchasing anymore with auric cells has never even been a consideration since I know the prices are just silly.

  • Streamers, used to have weekly and fortnightly developer streams, dedicated player base, the grind, FUN game, very unique and one of the most important things: constant updates. Whether perks are being updated or there's a new killer, survivor, map, item, bugs (chainsaw myers, space program billy), skins, rift, UI update, graphical overhauls etc there's always something happening. That's a major part of the fun and what keeps people coming back.

  • Yes. Console players are limited to 60 or less FPS. I believe some of their keybinds can be awkward e.g. when trying to heal someone on a pallet, they might accidentally put the pallet down. Mouse is more accurate than an analog stick is. Console players are more limited when it comes to sensitivity (although I think it improved?). PC players can play at low settings which allows for better visibility.

Now I'm unsure about this but perhaps it's also more awkward to look behind you whilst in a chase on console? I know when I'm in a chase, I'm looking behind me 90% of the time. It's easy to do on PC once you have map knowledge.
