I do dodge a few things...
As survivor:
- New/clearly inexperienced players at red ranks. I don't want to play with someone with 30hrs.
- Racists (there have been some in pre-game lobby chat)
As killer:
- Cocky names, especially if they have a flashlight or in a SWF. Like "Try catching me" or whatever. I'd rather not go against cocky survivors flashlight clicking at me whilst simultaneously actually being good at the game. Perhaps I could still "win" but it wouldn't be fun. I've had my fair share of that in the past and don't want flashbacks.
- Streamers. Particularly ones with lots of viewers or known for being toxic or for some reason thinking every player has something against them. Casually find the same streamer a couple of times in a game? Must be a dirty tunneler, stream sniper, toxic, no fun try hard killer main. I'd basically rather not be judged for 10 full mins and put in a negative light.
- Key(s).

Dead Hard is only good at end game, of someone gets unhooked with the gate open. Any other time it's a waste to use. If someone used it on me with 4 gens I just decide to get rid of that person right then.
So I don't have to worry about it end game. Gen rushing is the real issue. I can deal with 4 flashlights or 4 of the same survivor dressed exactly the same... Which I still think is stupid but whatever. But I see 4 toolboxes and I'm like oh boy this crap again.
I think you're mixing up Dead Hard with the perk Decisive Strike.
-
Why don't you just, you know... bait it out? /s
I basically use DH without fail and know how good it is even though it bugs so much nowadays (it was actually A LOT more consistent via P2P).
To be honest, it's just a matter of time. I imagine they'll nerf it by removing the invincibility but of course that doesn't really nerf the biggest problem with it. So either that or it'll probably get completely reworked, eventually. I won't lie though I'll miss using it. The Devs definitely take their time with these things though. Once it gets announced in a PTB it'll probably take at least another year for it to actually go through.
-
I don't think there should be more stealth, it's in a good spot. There is a time and a place for being stealthy.
Honestly as a killer I find it really boring if I go from gen to gen to gen and every survivor is immersing. I much prefer chases, even if the survivor is a good looper. I really don't like wasting time looking for a survivor in areas they may have left when I arrived. Chases are the fun part of the game, hide and seek is fine but should not be more prominent or rewarding than it already is.
-
There is a possibility of blood splatter on skins for injured survivor as that was implemented in a PTB about a year ago? Could be introduced... eventually.
-
Have you happend to be using Shadowborn or Monitor & Abuse lately?

I'm kind of surprised people have never seen a reverse pallet stun before, as if they have only just been introduced.
Well they used to be very doable when vaccum pallets existed but before this update you would occasionally get the stun from doing it but the chances are you would be hit. From the looks of this video, it seems like it could make a bit of a come back.
-
He's oppressive for a few reasons:
- High mobility
- You can't see him coming until he's very close
- His power is decent to mindgame unsafe pallets
Point 1 and 2 mean that when he has broken a few pallets or perhaps the only pallet near a gen (if any), the next time he comes to that generator he will get a free hit. This applies to many gens. So soon enough once you've been hit you'll be in a pickle. You either A) Keep working on the gen or B) Look for a teammate to heal or C) Heal yourself.
If you keep working on the gen the chances are he'll come back and get a free down. If you look for a teammate to heal you're wasting a lot of time and either way he'll probably come back, get another free hit and the process will start again. Healing yourself is the best option but isn't always an option.
So it's not so much that Wraith isn't easily looped in chases, it's that any pallets near gens which must be repaired are destroyed soon enough and best case scenario the gen's in the shack or in a jungle gym/TL wall. So you don't really have a chase.
Now all of what I said above is heavily mitigated in a coordinated SWF or if the survivor is using Spinechill. If you know he's coming you can simply run far away and chances are he won't commit because it's not worth it. You go back on the gen when it's safe.
TLDR Wraith isn't that oppressive in chases, he's oppressive when it comes to patrolling gens. He will down or injure you before the chase really even has a chance to begin. That's in solo queue or with limited comms. In a coordinated SWF the Wraith still has his mobility but you know when he's coming, you know when it's safe and you can very easily heal up and so he becomes much, much less oppressive.
-
Because:
- It rewards killers for not sacrificing everyone before all gens are complete
- Because you don't know whether a killer has equipped NOED. You can waste time cleansing all the dull totems (with all the problems that entails) and the killer might not even have NOED. So in the end rushing gens was the better option.
- Don't like NOED? "Just equip a totem perk" doesn't really make sense. I also don't like Spirit so I should always bring Iron Will? I don't like Legion so I should bring resilience to rush gens faster? I don't like depending on my team so I should bring Self Care every game? I don't want to be seen with BQAC so I should equip Distortion? I can't counteract everything in this game and even if I could I'd like to use perks suited to my own play style.
- There's no default totem counter. So as solo queue when do I know all totems are cleansed? What if I waste time cleansing 4 totems and I can't find or presume the 5th one has been cleansed but it hasn't and the killer has NOED? That's a lot of time wasted and remember, we don't even know if the killer has NOED in the first place.
- What about progressing through the game? Imagine going against a Blight with Ruin, Tinkerer and Undying. Your first thought should be powering through gens or finding those 2 hexes. You are playing poorly if you're cleansing dull totems. Imagine someone's on a hook, someone's unhooking and healing that person and the other person is being chased and you're cleansing dull totems. I guess if you never get to end game you never encounter NOED though.
- It's too good with Nurse.
Also, to note it's almost always better just to cleanse NOED after it activates so you get gens done ASAP. No time wasted cleansing dull totems and as I said the killer might not even have NOED.
No tldr unfortunately.

I've been thinking seriously about it- the ability to access my steam library from anywhere actually sounds really attractive I'm not gonna lie.
It's kind of a wait and see type of deal, the announcement of the Steam Deck really came out of nowhere and the more I hear about it the more it sounds like it might actually be even better than the switch. But I gotta see what other people think of it first and whether it's actually a reliable console or not.
I would be in the sameish boat as you but couldn't help but reserve it due to the shortage of chipsets nowadays. I've only payed £4 to reserve it and can get that money refunded in steam wallet if I ever change my mind about actually ordering it when my order email finally pops up.
-
I'm really awful at tracking survivors and it doesn't help that I don't want to have the volume too loud. I'll often lose a survivor and just pretend I was going off to find another survivor or pressure elsewhere. This mostly happens when I try to mindgame too much and in the end just mindgame myself.
-
I find Huntress and Hillbillys really fun to play against. Huntress especially. Something about both of these killers pallet/tile games are really fun and risky. You can easily mess up against both and die in seconds but can also have long intense chases against them.
-
Any form of hand movement on hook = the killer is camping.
No hand movement = the killer isn't camping.
-
Thanks
-
Whispers except it activates after a minute or 2 from the last hit and deactivates during EGC - So games can't be taken hostage by survivors. Or extended too much if they're e.g. both camping hatch.
Kindred except it doesn't show the killers aura just the survivor auras.
-
This would be a huge buff for facecamping. You'd need coordinated survivors bodyblocking the killer from grabbing the survivor that is unhooking. If only one person went for the save, they'd be completely powerless.
-
- When I see the killers aura via dark sense but I'm not using dark sense.
- When the killer is being overly nice about not camping.
- When I realize the EGC timer is low and the killer probably isn't slugging the downed survivor to be toxic.
- When the clown is right behind me trying to get direct hits with his bottles.
- When the trapper is putting traps down in the most obvious places.
- When I notice my survivor breathing a bit louder at the start of the trial.
- When the killer uses the map offering: Lery's.
- When the shape has his right hand open within tier 3.
-
All really good ideas, although I'd like a few more changes:
- Show survivor ranks to other survivors (To be honest I'd use this to dodge e.g. rank 20's. It's not a fair or good experience at red ranks.)
- Allow survivors the option to report each other. I want to be able to create an in-game report against racists in chat for example and I'd rather not play a game with them in order to report them in-game afterwards. (I reported the same racist 3 or 4 times and he was still being extremely racist in every other lobby I saw him in days/a week afterwards so I assume reporting via ticket without actually reporting them in-game is pointless)
- Have an option to toggle the chat censor off/on.
-
I'm guessing it's just a bug that was somehow created.
-
Facecamp, face camp, facec4mp, face C4mp, f_a_c_e_c_a_m_p.
But Face C4mp works. I was trying to have a discussion in after game chat about how the best strategy with The Twins is to facecamp and that it was poor design. Chat censor made it look like I was cursing.
-
This:
Spent hours and hours and hours spending the BP refunded to me but never was refunded my legacy skins.
-
Recently I've shamelessly used about over 40+ personal cakes, despite having 100+ Anniversary cakes.
But it's only because I'm saving them for whenever my brother plays SWF with me. But if I run out of personal cakes I'll start using the anniversary ones then.
But please everyone else, use your cakes! 1 cake = 1 smile :)
-
For you personally: DS, Adrenaline, Unbreakable, Deliverance. If you want to have better chances in the chases, swap Unbreakable and Deliverance for Iron Will and Dead Hard.
For you and the team: DS, Adrenaline, BT, We'll Make It
-
An invisible mode would be nice. Sometimes I want to just solo queue or just play with my brother and no one else and as you say it's awkward declining invites/saying no. Especially when it's a recurring thing.
-
Kind of wanted to put Spirit with a close second The Twins. But although it's rare to face a good nurse, if you do face one, she's clearly the most unhealthiest for DBD. Partly because of how good she can be in chases and her map pressure. But also unhealthy because the Devs have to consider every killer perk's balance in terms of how good it is on the nurse (and other top killers).
For example, Old Undying + Ruin used to be very strong on all killers, even those with poor map pressure. But on Nurse and other top killers, it was way, way too oppressive. BBQAC is another great perk for all killers. But it's even better with Nurse because she doesn't have to go around obstacles, she can blink straight to a survivor. NOED, another amazing perk. Good on all killers, extremely good on Nurse. You get my point.
Then there's the issue of how can you give a general buff to all killers after solo queue survivors (hopefully) get a buff? Nurse is already top tier, so what can you do without making her even better? It's difficult.
I have to say though, in the average game, I do enjoy facing Nurses much more than I do Spirit/Twins. A lot more.
-
At the moment, The Twins is high up there. They've become more common to play against lately. The Twins excel at everything survivors dislike in this game. Slugging and facecamping. Except when that killer facecamps, she can still patrol gens, chase others, SLUG others etc.
It's just an awful experience, especially as solo queue. If Victor is facecamping you're forced to crouch walk there as to not alert him, wasting a lot of time. Either that or you alert him, he jumps on you and you can no longer unhook until you get him off, giving Charlotte enough time to get back. And that's if you're lucky enough to be healthy in the first place or if Charlotte doesn't spot you herself going for the unhook. Repeat.
Just really miserable.
-
It should have at least some minor tweaks. Such as not having to hit a skill check. Just an automatic stun. It doesn't really make sense for a situational one time use perk like DS to still have it, seeing as though if it's going to be any use, you usually are actually being tunneld. It's not exactly hard to hit, but it's just unnecessary now. I can also imagine those with poor FPS might struggle hitting it. The current late DS skill checks allow killers very close to the hook to hook you before DS activates, this issue would therefore be resolved.
Now, if it were to be buffed slightly I've heard of a suggestion that allows the survivor to still interact with gens, heal others etc. But instead of DS deactivating instantly, it'd start deactivating A LOT quicker whenever that certain action is happening.
I'm not entirely sold on my second point myself as it'd allow survivors to tap a kicked gen and get away with it but for my first point I believe this should be a thing.
-
I have hardly seen any Hillbillys since his nerf. So I have to presume Wraith is better when used with perks surrounding the hit and run play style.
-
I haven't had that much of an issue with the censorship, but I found out today that facecamp is censored. So is facec4mp. But, Face C4mp isn't. Strange.
A toggle off/on feature for the censorship would be fantastic.
-
I've read this post a few times and I just don't understand it. Is it really a thing that you can't leave a locker if the killer is just standing in front of it? If so, it must be a bug.
Because your suggestion is what is/should be happening in the game currently.
-
@WeenieDog said:
are there even any games that make you close discord or any other background program that don't interact with the game before playing?
A genuine question because I thought people would just go around it.
Yeah even if that was possible, it'd be as simple as calling each other on Discord via a smartphone.
-
Sometimes I'll play all day. Sometimes for a few hours. For weeks on end. But quite often I launch the game, ponder for a few minutes whether it's worth playing and come to the conclusion I'll probably have a bad experience and I go and watch YouTube/Netflix.
I don't know why, but I tend to get burnt out during the Anniversary events. I actually want to play to grind more cakes so I have less grind in the future. But it's hard to find the motivation to play at the moment.
-
It's even worse when they are streaming but either don't have VODs enabled or its sub only.
-
It's in a good spot. The old Undying + Ruin was too oppressive, too unfair. It allowed Hex perks (AKA ruin) that are supposed to be a gamble to use, much more dependable. It was not only totem spawn location RNG, but the fact that you never knew if you were cleansing the Ruin or the Undying RNG.
The new Undying + Ruin combo gives killers a safety net. It's still a gamble using Ruin and you do have to use a perk slot for Undying but at least you know that Ruin will always last longer than it would have without Undying. Having to cleanse 4 Ruins was just not fair and way too time consuming, especially against top tier killers that already have good snowball abilities.
Plus, Undying + Devour Hope is now an option. Also just to note, I'm not the best killer. But I am still using Ruin + Undying as my primary build for basically every killer I play. It's nice to just have it do all the work for me and to have free pressure. It's amazing and I can say for most games, I'm happy with how long Ruin lasts for, if it ever even gets cleansed.
-
If you want more challenging matches, the best way to do that at the moment on PC is turning crossplay off. Personally I'm a survivor main and so 95% of games with crossplay off are Nurse, Blight or Spirit. These players act like they're playing in tournaments.
I also find teammates there are much more often than not better, although of course there's still some inexperienced players.
I live in the EU and match times aren't actually bad, at least for survivor. You might wanna give it a go.
Also just FYI to anyone reading this. I am not implying anything about Console Vs PC skill difference. The reason crossplay off players tend to be better is because crossplay off matches have lots of people queuing for exactly what OP is looking for. Challenging matches, challenging opponents.
-
I'm still not convinced. Admittedly I'm not a Twins main or even face her that often, but I'm going to last a lot longer against an m1 killer rather than facing Victor. The killer will suddenly find it a lot harder to snowball seeing as though getting downs are more difficult against good loopers or just from survivor holding W.
Survivors can find time to heal up before Victor procs again and/or do gens. If Charlotte chases the person with Victor, she's literally just an M1 killer. If she chases a healthy survivor, she has to get 2 M1's as an m1 killer or eventually get the 2nd hit when Victor is recalled.
So I'm not convinced. People crushing Victor instantly give the killer another hit/down for free, and quickly. People holding Victor give others a much easier time in a chase and for the rest of the survivors, respite.

If you want to simply trim down your videos in the future, Windows Movie Maker is a very simple and trusted video editing software. Not entirely sure if it comes installed by default anymore, but I believe it's still available for download.
-
It's just not a map made for DBD and it's playstyle. It feels like more of an afterthought.
It's a big maze. The survivor holds W zigzagging out of rooms. The killer is looking down at the scratch marks constantly trying to figure out if you turned left or right. Oh they turned left but you thought they went right for 2 seconds? Have fun catching up, inspecting the floor again.
Have fun using killer abilities like those of Blight, Oni, Nurse, Hillbilly, etc.
And for survivors it's bad too. Where are the generators? Where's the hex totems? Why are some pallets so, so bad that you may as well run through them?
Hallways are tight enough for killers to really easily facecamp by body blocking passage ways.
I like how the map looks, I've played RE2. It looks fantastic. But it's just not for DBD.
-
Before he was nerfed there was always complaints about him having the best of both worlds. AKA, great mobility and an instadown ability - both of which with little restrictions. Then there were also complaints about insta saw.
The only issue I had with him was instasaw. If they had just nerfed those addons that would have been nice.
-
We don't need to run across the map to heal. Or even behind the nearest wall. Please, stop running away and wasting so much time.
I will not run across the map with you to heal.
-
- BT has had a "buff", as in to actually make the perk consistent. If the killer is camping, no matter whether they're a Wraith or Insidious Bubba, survivors will receive the enduring status effect. So although its now consistent, it's actually received a slight nerf otherwise in terms of its longevity. I don't think it needs further changes.
- This is alright, although it is basically like a built-in Overcharge. That perk would need to be reworked. But mind you, I still don't think it's a necessary change.
- No! This is simply not needed and I presume other survivors could steal the item + addons. Bad idea. No one wants to bring in a good item + addons, have to retrieve it from a chest and potentially have it stolen.
-
I got just 2 on my main, Claudette. I'm not leveling characters any more once they have all perks, although made an exception for Claudette just to get 2 5th anniversary cakes.
I've got 2 third year and 2 fourth year cakes on her. So I had to get 2 fifth year.
-
Perhaps make it so you can use DS twice. But if that's too much, perhaps in return disable DS when all generators are complete or during EGC. No more free escapes in end game in return for a more robust anti-tunneling perk.
Also, make DS and every other perk affected by hooks/unhooks work with Pyramid Head's cages work the same way they would with a normal hook.
-
Hold Shift + W whilst simultaneously trying to hide from his LOS. Otherwise, pre-drop safe pallets and only vault windows if you have enough LOS. Deathslinger is very very good in 1v1s so don't be disappointed if you're caught quickly.
-
I've gotten mostly used to the new animations and think they're fine. But I'd like to see the things you mentioned brought back, like moving your head up and down whilst moving/crouching.
But mostly I want the smooth head bobbing back. Right now it feel like it's a low fps animation and it isn't smooth like it used to be, as silly as it sounds.
-
Nothing. I'm just saving them to purchase future chapters and the occasional skin.
-
I don't really like farming, but the occasional farm is alright. I just really don't like it when I don't want to farm but everyone else is and the killer has a lightbulb moment: Where's the other survivor?
Then proceeds to farm me to death with the other survivors because I didn't want to farm. Not a nice experience, which is why I tend to "farm" a bit more now to try to avoid this. Even though I don't always want to.
-
I've had a lot of bad games today. Bad matchmaking, inexperienced killers. Then there's a lot of killers facecamping and tunneling really hard as if they're in some kind of tournament. I don't normally use DS but I did today.
The game before last I also had a "teammate" sandbag me twice around the same loop. Killer nodded at him and I presume they thought they were going to farm me off the hook. Well, I didn't let it go that far...
-
I'll leave this here:
https://clips.twitch.tv/BlightedRealEyeballGrammarKing
Besides, the better way would be to buff solo survivors and give a general killer buff in return. No idea what the general killer buff would be, but yeah.
Also it would definitely help if they fixed matchmaking. Need to hope the new MMR system works well.
