Reading how they've supposedly helped mitigate the issue has given me some hope to be honest.
-
Also, despite saying I wouldn't swap I'll note some of the luxuries PC players have, such as:
- Editing game files. E.G. Uncapping FPS. Changing perk, offering, addon, character portrait icons etc.
- Playing at low to ultra settings. We have the choice. Better performance or better graphics. Low settings also gives an advantage.
- End game chat!
- Better controls. Keyboard and mouse controls don't have big issues controllers have such as accidentally pulling a pallet down when trying to heal someone. Mouse allows for more precise aiming.
- PC players can take advantage of filters like NVIDIA filters. This can make the game more bright, sharp, more vibrant or even give it a blue hue if you want to try to resemble how the old Macmillan maps looked like.
Maybe this will convince you to swap... :)
-
Last console I played on was the Xbox 360. Once I got my PC I just never looked back. Had the pleasure of playing DBD since 2016 just because it happend to only launch on PC. So glad I made the swap! I'd say better late than never BUT not only are the latest consoles fantastic in terms of (normal) value and performance. But also, DBD's grind is immense. I would definitely not make the swap after progressing thousands of hours (or even hundreds) unless there is cross-progression.

In terms of cake drop rates it's so much better for killers. But I main survivor so am still dumping all my BP on the survivor characters because even with a 2x BP incentive it's not going to make me play more killer.
Event items are fine, but I was really hoping for more cakes :/
-
Yes, as Hillbilly. It was the worst experience as killer I've had in a while. It was a real struggle navigating the map and finding survivors and when I did find them they'd hold W running in and out of rooms.
The chase music stopped so many times when I was chasing them, I couldn't cut them off or anything. Just mindlessly trying my best to track them through the maze. Lery's was my most disliked map but this one might be now.
-
Every patch comes with its own bugs. But to not even double check whether or not you can actually unlock the crown head after getting one (and escaping)... takes the cake.
Also can anyone confirm if you can actually get the event items from chests? Been using Appraisal (no Plunderers) and haven't found one yet. Another bug?
-
I now experience not 1 but 2 postgame lobby bugs. One is the one I had before the event where I'm forced to exit the game as the lobby freezes when I try to leave. The other is now when an error message appears, sending me to the "Press space to continue"~ screen.
I still keep my BP earned at least. But quite annoying and very frequent.
-
Now that you mention it, I have 1 mil BP I was about to spend yesterday but was a bit lazy. I'll keep it at about 1 mil BP now so I get a bunch of cakes and (possibly?) event items.
-
I'm not one to normally complain about tunneling. But I've definitely noticed an increase in tunneling too.
I've been playing with crossplay off where many killers self proclaim to be in tournament teams. Often the first person they hook they proxy camp and tunnel them out of the game to try and get a 1v3 ASAP.
Now this isn't a great strategy if all survivors keep rushing gens. But it does make the game really boring. You know that if you go to save you'll be wasting time and at the very best trading. But if you don't try to help that person will die on first hook and you'll be doing gens the rest of the game (presuming they don't suicide in hook). Even though I know it's the right thing to stay on gens, it still feels bad leaving someone to die on first hook.
But then these killers will often run NOED too. So they're likely to finish off with at least 2 kills regardless. So not only is the game really boring and you have no BP, but the killer also has 2 or more undeserved kills.

only change i think it needs is to happen after the gen break not before everything else is fine
That would be too much of a nerf imo. The perk is annoying for killers although is fun to use, but is not that great of a perk.
What I like about it though is that it can also be used as an alternative to the Better Together perk. Better together only highlights the gens aura to other survivors within 32 meters. Whereas blast mine can be seen across the map. So it is actually better in some ways.
But still. Don't think it needs a nerf.
-
It used to mean that they're probably decent and probably main that killer/survivor.
But it doesn't really mean anything anymore. The only exception is p3 Claudette's. If you see them they're probably going to have Urban Evasion and Self Care and be very immersed.
-
I still do not cleanse against Plagues until end game when going for saves. If you don't cleanse she's just an M1 killer with 1 corrupted fountain (unless she has addons for more). If you're good at looping an M1 killer, you're fine.
Plague can easily make everyone infected again. So I often see people cleanse, get infected right away and cleanse again and again. This can just be from unhooking an infected survivor, repairing an infected gen etc.

Do you know of other console games that allow you to do that? Genuinely asking, I don't know because I haven't bought a console since the PS3.
I haven't bought a console since Xbox 360. But I did hear about Overwatch allowing console players to change to a performance setting to increase FPS. However I don't know much about it and from further research these settings only seem to be for current gen consoles or at least the latest Xbox console.
-
One of the simplest changes DBD could make is also allow consoles to choose the low setting that PC players can.
That would drastically improve performance and although it's not ideal for those that want good performance and the best graphics, it'd be worth it IMO. I've personally played DBD at low settings ever since it came out and I don't think it's bad at all.
Edit: in case anyone misunderstood my comment, I'm talking about improving overall performance and not saying this would fix the current stutters from the recent patch.
-
I'm more interested in what happend to the survivors having blood on them when they're injured. I believe that was in a PTB a while ago and that could definitely be done now.
-
When you run that add-on you will always be looped really hard against good survivors or have early pallet drops. No one wants to get downed in 1 shot by a projectile.
Those survivors played well and out witted you. They probably knew that you only had 1 hatchet available at any time due to that add-on. So used that to their advantage.
Also, you were throwing the hatchet at a whim. That's the big downside to that add-on. Not only do good survivors know when you're only an M1 killer at 110%, but you also only have 1 shot before having to basically give up the chase. You need to be sure it will hit the survivor.
And please don't call those loops infinites...
-
I don't really have a favourite at the moment but I must admit I am constantly recommended videos of theJRM having killers falling down holes. Which is funny.
-
The leak itself might have made the devs aware of the bug before the event even started and hence the developers fixed it, saving us all some hassle. That is, if the leak was actually correct. So that's something to keep in mind
-
Seems like a good buff. Changes like this close the gaps between solo queue and SWF just that little bit more.
-
It's alright. I wish console also had access to the in-game chats though, it'd be nice to communicate with them.
-
What do you mean? Spirit as well as that addon are absolutely fine.
-
Kind of. Been taking screenshots of after game lobbies since 2017 (and some of 2016 but those were lost). Gonna compile all the thousands of screenshots together in a video.
I don't do this so much as to look back at how much times I died or escaped, but I could. But wouldn't be entirely accurate because some games I don't screenshot.
-
On in door maps, TIER A. Not higher because survivors could have Spinechill and can still loop you easily.
On any other map against good survivors, you will be looped to oblivion. In fact, you might not even be able to catch survivors looping you efficiently around certain objects. This is because he doesn't get bloodlust.
-
I had a friend suggest the game because he saw videos of it on youtube and thought it seemed fun. Started playing it and although it was a exploit/bug infested game (and still is), it was still very unique and I had a great first impression.
The game was new, unique, scary, exciting, had something to grind for and fun to play with friends.
-
Yup, this just caught me completely off guard too. Didn't see bloodwarden from a distance (as you normally would) but as I was near actually exiting the match, it showed up and blocked me.
Either a shadow buff or a bug.

Post game chat should just be removed entirely from the game. It's either used for meaningless ggs (mostly after 1 side had a ######### game) or insults.
If you don't like chat, hide it. Let everyone else who enjoys using it, keep using it.
-
I watch some streamer's VODs back when I play against them and yes sometimes they'll make a snide comment. Sometimes they'll be annoyed about us being a potential SWF, or annoyed because of Dead Hard etc. But I'm sure most of us have these comments ourselves anyway, but don't say them out loud or stream.
-
Can't remember what the bug was called. But basically you got unhooked but you were still dying from the hook timer. You could run around as usual, except your arms would point back to the hook in a ridiculous way.
When the hook timer finally ran out, you'd fall under map and finally die. Was hilarious. Anyone remember the bugs name? I think it had some strange name.
-
Decisive Strike does not give the survivor an increased running speed. The survivor you faced likely had Sprint Burst.
You said you want to counter/nullify Decisive Strike. The only way you can do that at the moment is to slug the survivor for 60 seconds.
Also just to say I personally don't see a direct counter to DS being healthy for the game.
Also also FYI: Killers used to be able to use Enduring to reduce the stun time and Unnerving Presence to reduce the size of the skill check. Both of these perks no longer affect DS.
-
I'd say they are quite exhausting to play if the killer knows to stay on one side of the map and refuses to leave it with a solid gen build. The games can almost come to a stalemate. Once all the pallets are gone the survivors have to be super coordinated and run to the other side of the map to heal and go back and fourth again and again and again whilst slowing doing gens.
I've played against decent Hag's and Plague's hard patrolling one side of the map with many gens. Since I don't play with a full SWF, those games were near impossible to win.
-
This is a post I made on reddit over a year ago:
Not exactly a major buff, but a buff nevertheless.
-
At the moment I'm going on a spree of playing many different survivors because I like the diversity and have some BP offerings left on them. But my usual main is Claudette. As killer I don't really have a main anymore but used to main Billy.
Hillbilly was always fun to play, had the best mobility at the time and was the only killer able to instant down survivors from a healthy state when I first started playing him.
I was a sabo Jake when I first started playing although eventually swapped to Claudette. She was better at hiding and covered less of the screen than Jake did. So I swapped to her and grinded to get L3 on both Billy and Claud.

Are you taking advantages of archives, offerings and perks that give bonus BP?
If you play Legion and run a farming build with a streamers offering, you can get over 60k per game, possibly 90k.
I always use BBQAC on all killers and if there's a double BP offering, I use it. Same with survivor, except I don't always run WGLF. I do have quite a few killers I do not play enough of to use all of their double BP offerings. Like Pyramid Head has 90+ 4th year anniversary cake offerings. But I don't feel like playing him and won't just play him in order to use more double BP offerings.
Also yeah I've completed basically every archive. I did lose all my progress at 2600hrs and had 156 million refunded to me. Always thought that was not enough and perhaps I was right.
-
I've got 5100hrs and before this chapter released I had all killers maxed out and all but 4 survivors maxed out WITHOUT prestiging anyone. I hardly play any other games. It's insane how grindy the game is.

It basically censors any "bad" word you can think of. Including other random words like "michael scott". You also weren't allowed to say "Myers" at one point. You can't even say "killer".
It for some reason doesn't censor the worst racist word you could think of. I've had multiple people say that word in a very bad light recently. In fact the same person has been saying it in multiple lobbies to me yesterday and the day before yesterday. They can still type in chat even though I've reported them. Perhaps because it was the weekend the tickets simply weren't looked at or maybe the support team is extra busy.
But nevertheless, no idea why that word isn't censored In the first place when the filter is strict for every other word, it seems.
-
Map offerings are one of the few actual useful offerings. I'd want them to stay tbh, if someone wants to play on a certain map/realm so be it.
-
When I play against a cheater I literally just AFK. I'll say nothing in end game chat. I would imagine cheating would get really boring very quickly if everyone they faced did this. They get no satisfaction/interaction. They might find it fun for a game or 2, but that's all.

Off the top of my head, definitely not a complete list here...
The original Pale Rose was absolutely gigantic. Killers still hate some of the larger maps in the game because of how hard they are to patrol and Pale Rose was much bigger than anything we have now. The funny thing is the map was so large it was awful for Survivors too because it took so long to get anywhere.
The new perks were garbage. Ace is still considered one of the worst Survivors for teachables and that's after they've buffed things Open-Handed and Ace in the Hole multiple times. You'd think introducing Ruin alone would have made the chapter amazing, but iirc Ruin didn't actually work properly on release. And even if it had, great skill checks were almost impossible to miss back then so it still would have been a bad perk. The only perk that was halfway decent at the time was Devour Hope, but it's original effect made it obvious when the killer was running it as soon as it got the first token.
The Hag herself was terrible on release. Current Hag is good at camping. Release Hag was only good for camping. Her teleport was too slow to do anything else.
Terrible map, terrible killer, terrible survivor. And that was just the new content. The worst part was all the game-breaking bugs with older stuff. Things like the Nurse being totally unable to blink through random areas on certain maps on one side, or the Hag being completely immune to DS on the other. And to top if off, everyone figured out how to glitch and stack any perk and use any killer power on any character. Although supposedly that was on old exploit, this was the chapter that the secret got out and everyone learned how to use ridiculous BS like Myers with a Chainsaw running Bond/Empathy. Truly a miserable time to be playing DBD (or a great time to quit it).
Good times!

As others have said, DS would be fine without a skill check requirement. The vast majority of games I'd say DS is simply a waste of a perk slot. Firstly, you might not get hooked. If you are, to make use of DS you must be tunneld. Then you must be picked up, not slugged. Then you have to hit the skill check. And even then there's now nothing stopping the killer from tunneling you for the rest of the game.
So I really wouldn't mind seeing the DS skill check being removed. There's really no need for it. Not to mention, this game is poorly optimized, especially for last gen console players. I can imagine it being very difficult to hit with bad fps/lag spikes.

- Even small changes like showing which survivor is in a chase. This could be shown the same way you know when an obsession is in a chase via the survivors portrait.
- Built in Kindred (with no killer aura)
- UI totem counter (near gen counter)
- Small UI pop ups near a survivors portrait. E.g. If I'm on a gen or cleansing a totem or opening an exit gate, show it.
- Maybe a chat. Or short lines you can select. "Going for unhook". "Opening gate". "Need help".
- Reveal other survivors perks (and items + addons). For example, It'd be amazing to see which (if any) survivor has BT. Then we know who should get the unhook if the killer is facecamping/tunneling. If this is too much to fit in without looking messy, allow us to press ESC and see the perks/items/addons there. We can already see the offerings there.
All of these changes would drastically improve solo queue. But of course, killers would then get some kind of general buff in return for these solo buffs.
-
This is so trivial. Literally just hide chat or as you said yourself, go in the ini file and auto hide chat every time. If you can't help but look at chat anyway, I'm afraid that is your own fault.
BHVR could do as you ask but like I say it's such a trivial matter when you can already hide the chat.
-
There are certain perks that will let you wiggle out faster, but they are very situational and best used in a SWF. These are Flip Flop and Breakout. SWF teams could also use sabouteur/a toolbox or body block to prevent the killer from hooking you.
Basically, if you want to break free from the killers grasp you're going to need to be in a coordinated SWF.

I enjoy using it on the last gen after 99'ing it. It's pretty funny to watch them kick it then pop it in their face then running away xD
Yesterday I played with another survivor that used Blast Mine on a gen. The killer kicked it whilst I was hiding behind the gen and I placed another trap on it while he was stunned. He got double stunned. Feel kinda bad but was funny.
-
His zombies are very inconsistent although can be a huge time waster at gens sometimes. Especially with ruin.
His power is alright. It's not he best and is hard to hit, but it can hit over some objects and allows the killer to break pallets and move on faster.
Voted B tier.
-
Farming is really boring.
-
I find him really boring to play against too. There's nothing fun about getting hit for free over and over again when repairing generators.
-
Sometimes I do, most times I don't. It has gotten to the point where I have to judge survivors before a game starts. Sometimes they'll have less than 50 hrs. That's an instant dodge. I'm rank 1, I need competent teammates.
I'm sorry BHVR but I will not keep playing with rank 20s. Ruins the balance completely unless the killer isnt also rank 20.
-
The perk is fun to use but it's not great. The killer could have Ruin + Undying, or may never kick a gen with a trap regardless. Even when it does work, it delays the killer for just a few seconds. Then they get right back to kicking the generator again.
I can see it being useful in scenarios where a killer tries to greed and kicks a gen whilst in a chase so the survivor gets distance, but that's about it.
-
His zombies have this issue too. Last game whilst injured I needed some distance to escape and so ran at a conveniently placed zombie, got a speed boost and made it out. Seems rather counter-intuitive.
