But he's 115% and he can injure survivors while not even being there, and if he traps a healthy survivor that's basically an instadown. I don't know how that's worse than someone who needs 7 knives to injure, moves at 110% and is even slower while throwing or using Main Event, can't hold Main Event like Oni holds his power btw. And his knives "decay" over time meaning you can get 1 knife away from injuring, but because you didn't throw that last one, you don't get anything for it.

This is my solid opinion. It's much easier to take a trapper with leathal pursuer from the very beginning and get a down. Maybe it is a console thing though, It seems to be the consensus he's just the worst on there

  • @Phasmamain said:

When trapper exist in his current form only he can be the worst

What in your opinion makes him that much worse than him? I really don't see that being the case but I'd like to understand your point of view.

  • "Survivor's have had to deal with bad pallets for 5 years, go touch grass killers!!"

I'm sorry, when did pallet vacuum get removed again? You know, that thin that existed in the game for years and teleported survivors to the other side of a loop instantly while hitting the killer 5 feet away?

  • Personally, I have no problem at all running tiles on RPD. It feels more like Leary's than Hawkins to me, meaning of you learn the layout you can cut off alot of options, and the vault spots are minimal. I haven't had too many straight up losses there as killers such as DS or Nemisis, but maybe it is killer specific too

  • Not that he really needs it, but I think it would be cool if Nemisis had the ability to manually place a respawn point for zombies. Not for their original appearance, but for say if he decided to tennacle one, them after some time they would spawn where he left a marker. Something to give him a little more control over them, so he could plan out traps... That might be oppressive tho

  • She's always had a low play-rate, even before the nerf, but I get what you're saying now.

You can definitely hit over most low wall objects in the entire game. Its just that the hit is inconsistent. It happened in the PTB too. Nemesis couldn't hit you over a trash can but could hit you over something that was as tall as him.

Hm, well if its not consistent then its not completely a threat. So your point of it just instantly being winning doesn't hold?

As of right now I honestly think he can ready the tentacle too fast. Even when I was pre dropping pallets on high walls the nemesis could easily ready it up and hit it at an awkward angle and land on me. I think that might be because of that weird lingering hitbox though.

I could not disagree more, if they change that they will kill this killer faster then they killed the nurse.

The ready up time is absolutely fine, and there are mindgames the survivior can do as counterplay if they predict Nemi is about to slap them with his tentacle.

I'm still unsure if its actually the tentacle or the blue line that deals damage.

Its the blue line, I realize when I hit in front of where someone is going, even if I miss, if the come in contact with the blue fire then it will hit them still.

I sorta think of it as a lingering effect in the area for roughly 0.5 second(s).

I like the zombies thematically but I do dislike how they can essentially play the game for him. Maybe make them infect/injure only but not down.

They can help out big time sometimes, but its rare. Most of the time they glitch in place, or get stuck on something.

When did they "Kill nurse" What are you talking about? The nerf that didn't let everyone get easy wins with her?

  • I just had a crash that counted as a DC, hopefully they fix this soon, because at this rate you're risking a ban for playing.

  • I wonder if it would be OP if lvl 3 tentacles could instantly hurt a healthy survivor as well as infecting them? Yea it's permanent, but he either has to go out of his way to get it earlier, or wouldn't get it until 3-2 gens anyway.

Don't know if they thought about that, but I think it would make going for level 3 actually worth it at least.

It's a far worse slope to allow people to be complete arseholes. Why do you think other games actually have functional report systems and take steps to remove griefing?

Probably because of the end game harassment and cheating or delaying of the game. Saying things like "#########" and making sexual advances. It's usually not used for playing the game in a "mean" way. Griefing is a very specific term used for specific scenarios. It's typically not open for interpretation

  • @MadLordJack said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2251993#Comment_2251993

It is your responsibility to not actively ruin your opponents experience (griefing), however, which is where the lines start to blurr and which is why we have the Survivors Rulebook For Killers because it's very unlcear for survivor mains to know what's actually necessary.

Hard disagree. It's your responsibility not to cheat. If they feel grievance with the way you play within the rules, that isn't your responsibility. That's a slippery slope of assuming blame and mal-intent to others who are playing a video game, at the end of the day.

  • @BioX said:

nope, its fully allowed, fun right? imagine if all killers just stared using this fully allowed tactic, never hook anyone, just down them and down them and leave them to bleed out....this game would die in a heartbeat if it wasnt for the good will of the players.

That's BS. First off, for everyone to get slugged before gens can get done means that team played horribly. If that happened every game, it would kill the game because the game you're talking about is much more unfair than actual DBD, where survivors have perks to get off the ground easily, chases can take a whole two gens, and the killer can only be in one place at a time (technically).

  • @Moundshroud said:

Letting people bleed out is rude, childish and an attempt to grief the PLAYER rather than just score points. It is bad sportsmanship. It isn't, however, against the rules because:

    1. It does not hold the game hostage (as the Mods and others already pointed out).
    2. It is still the same game as far as you are concerned, i.e. don't get caught and pick people up.
    3. It would be impossible to police, because most slugging is not with this intention.

All in all, the defective person that does this is rare. Every once in awhile you run into the twit who picks you up, carries you over by the hatch, drops you and pretends to let you get it only to slam it on your face. You also get the ones that seem to be letting you crawl out but wait till the las second to pick you up. These things are contemptible because they aren't really done with any game goal in mind. It is, as I've already said, evidence of a seriously defective person, the kind that tortures small animals if given the chance. Fortunately they are few and far between.

Most people that slug are doing it for tactical reasons.

Come on dude, making a whole moral judgement of character based on some in game actions? Who's going to take anything said in such a melodramatic way seriousm the best advice this guy could get is to stop taking it personal, that's all, there doesn't have to be a ton of drama behind it.

  • I don't get the call for Jack Barker that so many fans are asking for. In my mind Jack is no where near as legendary as Nemesis, he's way to recent an addition although as a fan of 7 I really do think he is Iconic for the series and a stand out (especially compared to Mr.X, who although may predate Nemesis, just doesn't have that same presence. Kinda B-list imo) But Nemisis the obvious choice, being a crossover fan fav in games and movie media for a while now (Aside from Leon and Jill, of course).

Maybe with Jack for me it's just a legacy bias. He just came so late in the Resi cannon, he doesn't have to fair chance at establishing himself to me as an icon at this point in the timeline. But I think he's just to young to be considered a representative face if the franchise

I hate that it's like that, by the way :( I play this game to play hard and get kills generally, but sometimes even I just wanna chill and play a fun game with an experimental build. But you do it once and then it becomes the expectation.

Oh no I hear you, some people will get very upset that you didn't "take it easy" or play by their rule book, but feeding into that mindset by playing "nice" doesn't really discourage it, it only makes people say "well the last guy did this or didn't do that, so you shouldn't either, no matter what".

  • @FrndlyChnswSalzmn said:

Problem is that when you dot his at all, Survivors still come to expect it. Doesn't matter why you're doing it, you still hurt everyone else. Just kill them, end the game and be done with it.

    Yea, that's fair.

  • @FrndlyChnswSalzmn said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/253368/maybe-perpetuating-unfun-behavior-isnt-a-completely-bad-thing

I've been saying this for years. Every time you go easy on survivors, you make them get used to Killers who will give hatch, not chase an injured fresh unhook even when the unhooker ran far away, etc. You make it worse for everyone, Killers and Survivors. Stop being a carebear. Play to win and make them play to win or lose. If that isn't fun let BHVR worry about that. it isn't our job to make the game fun; it's the devs.

I think with this, it really only matters how much effort you want to put in in the end. What I mean by this is I typically will literally stop attacking/killing if I so obviously decimated the other team that there's no possibility they could have turned it around otherwise, and I decide I'd rather goof of with them instead. I don't do it simply because I fear I'm "being OP" or whatever the hell these people say to justify intentionally playing worse and "playing nice". It's just a whim thing.. I think that needs to be explained sometimes if it's not obvious, otherwise as you say, it becomes an expectation that killers should only go so hard at any given time then relax and stop all that "tunneling" and stuff.

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

So I recently had a game that didn't go so well because I was trying to have a sweatless game with Trickster running haunted ground/undying. But because RNGesus hates my guts I got 4 Neas with flashlights who T-bagged throughout the entire game.

To most people, the usual refrain is to be the "better man" and just play normal, regardless of how much you want to bring in the stridor/NOED Spirit. But what does that achieve? They're still going to be toxic, and they're still going to be making profoundly un-fun games for other killers. The goal of this is to not perpetuate the problem, but is standing by and doing nothing going to stop the perpetuation of these problems?

Now, if you go ahead and pick up the tunneling stridor/NOED Spirit, sure, you become part of the problem, but counterintuitively, you may be helping to solve the problem. In the short run, people are going to get tilted and the toxicity is going to rise, but people can only be angry for so long before they tire out and seek a resolution. People will get sick and tired of sweating 24/7 and try to reach a mutual agreement. Even better, the rise in less-than-fun gameplay catches the eyes of the devs and they take action to stop the behavior.

And that's my defense of playing facecamping Bubba every Friday, thanks for listening. It's not fun for me or the survivors but damn, it's cathartic.

I wish people would just stop making threads like this. we've all been dealing with the actual Toxicity (of which now a days there is very little) for a long time, and I have to say you, if you think Toxicity is someone playing the game in a way that makes it inconvenient or tilting for you, is toxic, your delicate.

Toxic for PS4 players was getting 100's of messages from salty players AFTER the game had long ended, threatening you, calling you b**** and all that, telling you to commit "the act", etc. Or even your friends relentlessly fogging on you about the damn game. If you don't just play the game and take it as it comes, you probably shouldn't bother because you'll just stress yourself out thinking how you can bend over backwards pleasing someone else by handicapping yourself. It may not always be balanced or fair, but if you remove the burden to force it upon yourself to work against the dysfunction, you won't feel the need to ever make a post like this again, I promise you.

Is he an amazing top tier killer? Nah.

But he's not bottom of the barrel, he's up there with slinger in terms of viability imo. He just comes down to how well you can track moving targets and dealing with his very minor random knife spread.

He's also really good at camping if you want to play that way, but that's super 😴

What? Slinger is arguably better than huntress, he's an A tier killer. It's one thing to say you can get a 4K with this killer occasionally, but it's another to claim he's up there with DS, whose already better than half the roster

The thing is, putting down a trap takes too long and people see you do it, and then they can just trigger it on the edge of it, and you have 0 chance of catching them

Idk why she's rated so high, she's terrible at high ranks, VERY easy to counter

Listen man, you aren't playing her right period.

You don't trap in obvious places where someone would easily expect a trap..this is alot easier when you start utilizing another aspect of her traps. Start placing traps in loops and areas that aren't dead center to the pallet.

Wat this means try placing your traps around the actual loop, but NOT ON the loop, of that makes sense. Hags traps have a secondary ability associated with them, and that is a screen drag affect. When a survivor pops a hag trap, they look towards it automatically. You can use this to break their stride and offset their position by facing the trap around the loop at an angle you want them to get turned to if they continue a loop and get greedy.

I also wouldn't waste time placing too many traps at small or unsafe pallets.. It wastes more time than it saves in some cases because it might be unnecessary, and they may already be expecting a trap at the more obvious loops anyway. I like trapping structures if I can get to them early, especially if it's a main structure with a gen inside.. those are a great base to build around, and there's no way a survivor can see you placing traps without hugging your butt.

Also, don't make your web TOO tight. Make it fairly loose and cover a good base, hag can really cut off like half a stage from survivors, if gens went any slower she would be OP. Hag is really good once you get used to playing with a different mindset.

Lol well if it only applies to successful hits it's even weaker than I thought it was; I thought it was both. Nevermind not eviscerating his chase, a cooldown on successful hits does absolutely nothing to Victor's chase. It just makes it a bit harder to snowball, which was exactly the devs intention. There is not a chance of a survivor 18m away kicking Victor after a successful hit. He can move now while on cooldown now, the crush prompt is finicky, obstacles will increase the time it takes to reach him, and you're not going to want to risk attempting a crush when he's more than a short distance away because not getting there in time is a free hit for Victor. You're realistically going to have to be pretty darned close to reliably crush him after a successful hit, like within 10m after he downs someone. Two survivors close enough together for one to crush Victor after a down seems like a perfect opportunity for Charlotte to apply pressure.

Dude, we get it. They isn't a single nerf to killers that you don't love and agree whole-heartedly with the devs on. But instead dancing on graves, why don't you imagine for a second that you actually enjoy playing killer and empathize with others frustration over another unnecessary, over-thinking nerf? Not to mention the shadow nerfs that feel VERY unnecessary and lack reasoning (taking away collision from Charlotte removes a whole tool from twins, and it definitely had it's place and uses that weren't related to camping)

  • I haven't experienced it yet, but removingng collision from Charlotte is BS. Giving vik a DS for lunging is BS. De-incentivizing them from doing anything other than camping is BS. When people realize how easy it is to Cuck Viktor now, I see twins being affected meaningfully, in the negative...

And what statistic did they look at that told them the twins needed this kind of a nerf? Instead of wasting time making a change to twins, they could have made Trickster not a redundant trash killer, but they devoted time to making a nuanced, multifaceted killer easily countered by bunching up. Do they even know what the point of this killer is? How was that the obvious change this killer needed in their mind?

  • @Lliart said:

That's the issue I feel though. They aren't hurt from what they do best and are instead encouraged to continue what they do as opposed to diverting to a more healthy playstyle.

Yes, I suppose... Remember this tho, Almo really likes insidious bubba and thinks he's cool, so with that in mind it seems the devs have some idea what they want in this game and what they don't.

  • @n0suchluck said:

Well he's not a pick up and play type killer. As others have said, practice his shredding. Also he sucks at the beginning of the match because you have to set up his tunnels. I put his tunnels on top of gens because his undetectable IS useless. Once you you have his tunnels down you can pretty much lock down parts of the map. Just some tips. As far as perks, I think Im running PGtW/Surge/Discordance/BBQ&chili. I swap bbq with sloppy butcher from time to time. I'm no expert but I do pretty well with him

Appreciate the tips cheif, this killer has been so neglected by me I don't even think I have all those perks on him. It's entirely possible a new perk set up could change my outlook. I just can't see it yet.

Hey! I am currently still in mourning and am in the "grr im so angrey" stage:

ADDITIONAL STEALTH NERFS TO TWINS NOT MENTIONED IN ANY PATCH NOTES:

-No longer have collision. Remember how you could block door ways with Charlotte? No longer! This was deemed too "creative" by the Devs, so that has been taken away. You can now glide through Charlotte like a specter or something

-Back to Back view. Remember a couple patches ago, when you latched on to a Survivor you switched back to Charlotte right away. That's gone. Now we are back to Victor View after he latches on, adding another 1.5 secs to Charlottes "awaken" time.

Still testing all Add-ons and bugs. I will update this when I discover more.

Wow, that legit sucks even tho I never used pwyf on them.... Ok, I see why people are upset, but I still think they aren't hurt from what they do best, at least not totally

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/247416/demo-still-sucks

Demo never sucked for starters. With his buffs, he’s firmly a mid tier killer who is one of the most balanced in the game at the moment. I’d say Ghostface and Doctor are two other examples of killers that give both sides a fair shot.

He's doctor good? Are we saying that? Doctor denies loops and has in-built delayechanics, not to mention revers skill checks. Demo is just a 1v1 killer without range. I'm trying to be positive, but the more I play this killer, the more I'm starting to think he's like Hillbilly.

"Oh, he's fine, there's nothing wrong with this killer. The nerfs didn't effect him at all. Do I play the killer alot? What a strange question, of course not"

Or maybe he needs his add ons to be good, idk

Sounds more like a YOU issue and not a Demogorgon issue....Yet the title is Demo still sucks..Ok then

Yup, and look at the engagement it's generated. Almost like hyperbole was used for that exact reason, if you think about it.

  • @xenotimebong said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/247416/demo-still-sucks

Do you use his Shred to zone and deal with long loops and sight lines? You need to use his Shred often because it’s a valuable part of his kit and helps a lot with chases. Play a few matches with no add ons, not expecting to win, and practice his Shred in every single chase until you have it down, and you’ll start to have a lot more success with him.

Solid advice, I'm actually trying that. He's definitely the only killer I don't play ever, he, like new freddy, just doesn't interest me completely tbh, but I was hopeful maybe that can change due to his changes. I'm starting to see that with him, it's a good habit to always keep your lunge active and go for lunges, rather than playing like other killers I'm the past where you would want to be careful about where to decide to "feather" your charge at in order to not lose ground.

Zoning is something I do a lot with Deathslinger, but I guess my instinct was not to rely on that as demo since he can't really fly over anything like Victor or actually pose a threat on the other side of a pallet like DS. I see he has a specific habit you have to develop for him in knowing where you want to abuse his pounce.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

I mean Demo is undeniably better than Trapper so it's definitely a you thing. It's ok not to be good with certain killers.

The thing about Trapper is there isn't a tell for everything's ng he does, where as for Demo, everyone knows what you're doing and your give your location away at a constant. I think against the best survivors, he gives way too much information to be considered good. I fully conceed trapper is worse overall, if only because RNG influences his use, but on a practical scale, Demo is like a worse twins to me. That's just my opinion on him tho.

Must have been some really bad red ranks.

Every Twin game I have played since 11:00 AM has been trash. I am rank 2 Killer.

Regardless, a senseless nerf to an already mid tier Killer.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like that they needed them..... But Twins are not mid-tier. I've said since the beginning this very thing and its finally getting echoed by others, the twins are very good, dynamic killers. They belong ng in A if not S-tier, because they are downright oppressive on any map when played right. Yea they struggle on bigger maps more, but they don't outright lose them like Trapper or myers. They just have to many tools in there aresenal.

  • I don't feel too much of a change, besides the ability to turn early as charlotte which is nice but not too huge. Just played in red ranks, they seem to be as strong as ever

  • All I know is I cannot wait to try out the new buffs, and I hope they are worth the small amount you lose for a successful pounce. Tbh, I play them at red, and it isn't THAT common a survivor is close enough to another during the pounce that they would be able to kick Vic either way... But I haven't read the patch notes yet!

Camping is generally never applicable and is actively harmful unless you mean patrolling. But yea, tunneling is the optimal way to play. Like I feel very dirty and bad for the guy I'm doing it to but tunneling the easiest guy makes the game into a 3v1 real fast. Honestly, unless there is like 2 or less gens left 3v1 is basically unwinnable for survivors.

Tunneling the best player will outright lose you the game and if you are having 0/1K games THIS is why.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2160707#Comment_2160707

So true. I am a survivor main that also plays Spirit. I do not have enough blood points to invest in other killers right now until I completely finish grinding out all the survivor perks of which I have nearly all of them except for Dwight and Tapp. But I am going to be grinding out Hag and Doc soon(TM.) I refuse to play a killer without BBQ and Pop. Survivor grind is not bad in this game because I only need to level up Feng + characters for there teachables. But killer grinding is scary... I am trying to limit how much I grind killer to prevent myself from having my perk pool filled with useless trash perks.

Unrelated: What is the best perk build for Hag? Should I run Pop and BBQ? I have heard those are bad for her. I have Corrupt already and I am certain that is probably a good choice for her. I wanna make sure I have everything I need in preparation for the level 100 grind.

I agree, and I don't mean hard camp, my definition has probably been bastardized by entitled players, but yea I essentially mean patrolling, or better yet, returning jg to the hook ever.

But Yea, knowing who and when to tunnel is essential, some lunch so That argued against using that term for years, it just gives playing optimally on killer a bad connotation.

I don't blame trickster players, He is soo weak. That often people do what they have to do. I know what you mean. But I get that he is underpowered in a way no other killer is, so people will resort to what ever tactics necessary. But I could say the same thing about the twins. Since I hate how most twins users play, but at the same time I understand that is how she is played most effectively.

The twins are god tier compared to Trickster. I was one of the first people to say Twins is no where near as bad as people say. The Trickster? He is ass beyond belief. The buffs they gave him don't even make him more tolerable on Console, they would basically need to have two versions of this killer because he just cannot do well with that recoil....imagine if SMG's in an actual shooter played like this, the devs who worked on gun balance would be fired for giving the game PS2 style gun controls.

Yea because killers didn't start running basement builds when basement would black screen survivors, and they certainly didn't start running sloppy on wraith when it was crashing people, and they never ever started running double mend addons for legion when it would multiply mending and cause it to go on for 10+ minutes, nope not at all, both sides abused things when they're made public.

True, but those things were made bannable, so not the best comparison

oh my god cry ab it. killer tears literally give me life

when WE say camping, tunneling, slugging are boring yall say that you aren't 'supposed to make the game fun' but when we use offerings, play with friends, yall go absolutely feral.

if u really are that offended over a claudette blinding you then t bagging at the exit gate bc u couldn't get ur precious 4k then YOU need help

you automatically assume ALL survivors are gods because you went against one SWF team that hurt ur fragile ego then cry ab how survivors need it harder for them. if u want to win more then just get friends and play with them lmao

some of yall clearly have never played survivor solo queue and it shows

Echiron has like, 4,000 hours in the game dude.. he's definitely played plenty of survivor.

Also his post was made in the erroneous context that the creator of this thread was implying Trickster needed to go because he's to STRONG and annoying, so he posted the appropriate response to regards with what Killer players find annoying, essentially saying "Don't cry about the weakest killer when we deal with all the annoying ######### survivors do and are told to shut up about it" which is essentially what YOUR post is saying.

Don't be that survivor main, you seem to be new here and don't need to start off making everyone dislike you by being extremely biased and arrogant. You'll just get lost in the sea of other trolls, as the only resident troll we keep on file here is Sluzzy.

i literally didnt complain ab slugging once besides the fact that it makes the game boring (which is true). what do the killers do? waltz around the map looking for the ppl they downed 5 minutes ago and the survivors just sit there until they are hooked. i literally could care less if slugging is a thing after 3 or 4 gens are popped but if u go into the game with the intent of slugging immediately then u should prob rely less on that.

you cannot possibly analyze that a team "WAS NOT GOOD" if they are slugged at 5 gens. those games last like 3 minutes of actual gameplay then 5 of people laying on the ground.

i literally dont care at all if a killer slugs me, i will just dc and they can keep their silver devout emblem and +0 for letting ppl bleed out for 5 minutes and dying on their first hook

I mean, is you're complaint against slugging or is it against being left on the ground after being slugged because the killer refuses to pick you up, because that's more akin to Hostage holding which I don't agree with or like either.

But if a whole team goes down to slugging before any gens are done, absolutely that makes them bad. There's just no way they didn't make a massive mistake in order for everyone to get downed before a single gen, you'd literally have to be swarming the area together all bunched up, or playing immersed with no one actually attempting gens. It takes so long to actually get a down, and the twins aren't even particularly fast at it.

Anything else I can say, well yea that's kind of annoying, like camping and intentional tunneling without even attempting other chases (which tbh of you're tunneling like that, it will lose you the game 9/10 anyway).

could you just keep all of ur text in one message please and ty

u said nothing about slugging besides that it was not a good justification for the nerf... even if YOU are against slugging (like u say u are), twins are NOTORIOUSLY known for slugging at 5 gens which just make the game so boring. yall say you avoid camping and slugging until u get a swf that clicks their flashlight once then absolutely go feral.

like im glad there are twins players (like u) who dont camp and slug, but the nerf will help slugging significantly

Dude, of you have a problem with slugging, that's a YOU problem. You survivor brains just make any means of slowing down the game an issue "Oh don't tunnel me, don't Slug me, don't come back to the hook once you've hooked me, look the other way when I'm on a gen unless I want to be chased at that moment.

Slugging is fair and there are plenty of perks now-a-days that deal with it very well. If you're even getting team slugged at 5 gens, that just means the team is NOT GOOD.

the BT buff also ######### over the twins, victor can't down anymore if they have BT

This is actually already the only nerf the twins needed (if any..)

Camping victor is already made weaker by this existing, so in my mind the only true issue with Vic will naturally be resolved (by a perk no less).

Nobody wants this victor nerf tho, so I can only assume this nerf is the work of their "DATA" and, well a certain balance dev making slap-dash across the board "nerfs for every little buff"..

  • People are busy shitting on the thread creator, when essentially all he's saying is Trickster is so weak, you practically have to camp and tunnel with him to win average games (which in my opinion is pretty much true, of you don't go against a baby squad, which, yes we've all 4k'd against with Trickster, but that doesn't mean he isn't complete trash and still the worst killer by a wide margin.
