People still care about ranks? Is this 2017? o.O

I have your back on this one.
These changes don't affect normal fast vault areas. Haven't had any issues.
😎 Thanks bud.
For context - a little over a year ago I was saying the same crap to him that you guys are saying to me. I got banned from the steam forums over my heated arguments with this guy. I played killer to rank 1, saw what he and 95% of killer mains are talking about, and I've got his back as much as he has mine. I implore you all to do the same. It will really change your perspective on things.

“Experience on both sides”
I mean you’re calling everyone disagreeing with you “baby survivors”. Maybe you just don’t know how to run it as killer?
I wouldn't get to rank 1 killer if I couldn't run the killer shack. Just stop. It's not working.

You’re insulting others so is everyone a winner?
My experience on both sides at purple ranks says it isn’t infinite.
I haven't personally attacked anyone here. Not sure what you consider an insult, but I implore you to consult the nearest dictionary as soon as possible. It may help.
Now, am I sarcastic? Yep. Condescending? Hell yeah; but I'm very careful with my words. I'm not insulting anyone.
As for your "experience" at purple ranks - perhaps you just don't know how to run the shack. You can milk that building for multiple gens, even without the pallet at times. I've done that against some fairly well known killers in the community. Killers that you wouldn't say are bad in any sense. Edgar, Scott, Tofu etc. Edgar face camped the ######### out of me for it, which was awesome.
Perhaps we have a difference of opinion on what constitutes an infinite - but I've run people in the shack for as long as I've run people in the Myers house on Haddonfield, or Iron Works etc. It's got the potential to be very powerful. Or, had. Since you can't abuse the god pallet anymore, and have to either throw it down sooner or leave the shack.

There is nothing close to true infinites anymore. There are areas that come close like the main building in the Asylum, main house in Suffocation Pit, etc., but these changes do nothing whatsoever to affect them, so it's irrelevant to even bring them up.
I touched on that already. Infinites have a new meaning. They aren't truly infinite, they are just way, way too overpowered. It's common knowledge in the DBD community and it's still a commonly used term to describe said loops. Welcome to 2019.
The thing most of you rank 15 survivor mains are forgetting is, the killer is supposed to be the power role. While it should always be possible to win a chase, the odds should always tip in the killers favor. Always.
And they absolutely do affect those infinite. You can no longer hug the wall before a fast vault. You have to turn wide, losing distance and momentum.

Shack is not an infinite. Unless you're an absolute trash killer (like yourself who thinks it is) clearly. If you're getting infinited @ shack, you have some serious problems as a killer you need to look into m8.
Since all you can do is insult me, I'll assume victory. <3
I've most likely been to rank 1 more times as killer than you've been beyond rank 10 as survivor. I'm probably a much better survivor than you too.
Seriously - cry more. This was always the way vaults were intended to work. You've been exploiting an in game mechanic this entire time, creating an imbalance. It's not the end of the world. Adapt.

I have nothing to discuss with someone who consider the shack as an infinite.
I don't blame you - you have no counters. Good day, Beavis.
@GrootDude said:

You must be new, the killer shack is not infinite. Maybe you aren’t a good killer? I doubt you’ve seen the main buildings on most maps.
I've been to rank 1 several times. Wraith main, but mostly Billy lately. Let me know when you get out of rank 15 survivor. :) An infinite as it was once known, is something that is legitimately infinite. Those are gone.
Infinites as they are known now are overpowered loops that allows survivors to exploit 2 or more windows/pallets in ridiculous succession with little room for mind games (Mind games I'm betting most of you are terrible at, considering you're crying about a window), that can last for literal minutes in the same location. Infinites are not literally infinite, they are simply overpowered loops that require no skill to use and abuse. Not your typical merry-go-round loops like a jungle gym or L wall/T wall or junk pile.
The shack fits that bill (albeit, it's small). As does iron works, the pale rose, myers house in haddonfield, house with basement in both haddonfield and badham, certain iterations of coal tower, the asylum on crotus penn, some iterations of the chapel (clown map) etc.
It's amusing to see so many baby survivors freaking out that they can't abuse them anymore. It's even more amusing to see that you complain about bamboozle.
-
The fact that you provide no context otherwise shows that you both know you're wrong, and that there is no version of this where you win this debate.
-
@skillchecks said:
Yeah, i was about to say that. Why do you still using the word infinites?? we are not talking about infinites . We are talking about getting a fast vault on simple windows like shack or jungle gyms.
Now, if you want to talk about infinites, i can run the Strode house with BL , and even if i get a medium vault on those windows , the killer wouldn't be able to catch me.
So no, infinites have nothing to do with medium, slow or fast vaults.
Which you don't need to do. It makes no sense to get a fast vault from 2 feet away with absolutely zero momentum. The shack IS an infinite.
This new change is ALWAYS how the game was intended to be. They essentially just patched the mechanical exploit that allowed people to do it anyway. Get better. Adapt.
-
I actually agree with this. With enduring being changes, DS has no reason to be any more than 3 seconds.
-
@thomasnut said:
i understand the killer main fan boys are going to say he is not op, but he is exacty that. He stalks up way too fast, don't care what anyone says. I got plenty of stream proof to provide more than enough video evidence of him tiering up in seconds, and every ghost face killer in the game doing nothing but camping, tiering up in seconds.
It is so sad it's a joke.
You're what they call "a bad survivor". He's mid tier at best.

r u okay? did u even watch the clip he posted? or read what I said about patience and timing? u could use this skill on every window to wait for the absolute last second to determine if u wanted to vault or not. and id say it limits the amount of possible mind games because you can more easily judge if a survivor can fast vault a window or not, and assume if they have the distance needed to make it
I did watch the clip; and that's how it should be. You should not be able to fast vault at an angle to abuse infinites like that. You should need momentum to do that. Period.
Stop parroting your favorite survivor main streamers. They have no clue what balance is for the most part. They see it from one side and one side only. It does NOT limit mind games - it just makes mind games actually take a brain. So, get yourself one of those if you don't have one already, and you'll adapt. Stop looking for ez games ez life. Learn to survive without your infinites.
@nichtRoxas said:
Survivors literally get nerfed every patch and killer mains are still crying because they suck and don't wanna learn the game so they run bamboozle and complain about #########. Like ######### is that change 4 walls are basically even worse now and shack now becomes worse too.
Ask many people here. I could name a few. I used to think just like you - and then I stopped being ignorant and played killer. I even got to rank 1. Survivor is the easy mode of Dead by Daylight. They hold a massive advantage over killers. That's not even debatable. Killer takes ridiculous amounts more skill than survivor.
This is how the game was intended to be from the start. This isn't so much a change, more than a fix. The fact that you were able to exploit the game mechanics and still do those fast vaults was actually not intended.
You need to, as some would put it, "git gud".

literally any loop with a window that isnt part of a broken setup like disturbed ward building or iron works window. OP has a good example there too. u could still get a fast vault before if you timed it well and were patient enough, it wasnt even something anyone could do on a whim. it rewarded players who put in the time to learn it
Specific examples, please. L walls, T walls, and most jungle gyms etc won't be affected by this. Some jungle gyms may, but that just opens the door for more mind games. Get better at mind games instead of hitting W and Space.

I've hit people through pallets today.

@Boosted_Dwight said:
Why did they even change it? I haven't heard anyone saying fast vaults need a nerf. This change wasn't needed.
Play killer for a while. Your mind will change. I mean actually play killer, and notice how strong infinites are. Everyone here should do that instead of parroting what all your favorite survivor main streamers are saying. They are remarkably biased and abuse these infinites on a daily basis.
So, play killer for a while. Not at rank 20, not at rank 10. Get to at LEAST purple ranks. Find out why this change is a good thing. If you say you did, and you didn't, we'll know you're bullshitting because you'll still think otherwise. If you're good at survivor, which isn't hard, this shouldn't matter to you.
-
Why? To re-enable the infinites? As a survivor main who has been playing a lot of killer for the blood hunt, I can say this was a good change. You can loop it a couple times, but after that you gotta boogie somewhere else.

-
I like exhaustion gas on clown.
*mic drop*
-
Why do you think running pallet to pallet is skillful? Legit question. I'm not talking about looping, losing a killer.
I've been getting a wave of those. Which is especially funny when you play as Spirit. They camp the pallet, you phase to the other side and smack that booty.
-
Rank means literally nothing. There's plenty of players with thousands of hours played in game smurfin' it up in the rank 15-20 range.
-
That's the nature of competition, friend. It happens. You just have to deal with it and move on.
-
Killer is more satisfying. Survivor is more relaxing. I used to play survivor exclusively, but honestly, having to deal with rank reset every month, being placed with bottom basement teammates...I switched to killer. At least if I lose as killer, it's 100% my own fault.

What people imagine SWF comms are like:
-Agent 1; "I need a location on the Hex totem!"
-Agent 2: "Totem spotted near cow tree! I'll get his attention!"
-Agents 3 and 4: "Rushing gens!"
The 4 man SWF I play with:
-Player 1: "What starts and ends with T and has T inside?"
-Player 2: "Uh...I think it's a Billy. Yeah, it is."
-Player 1: "A teapot"
-Player 3: "I'm about to go into second state."
-Player 4: "Oh...my bad. Are any gens about done?"
Point being..competent solo teams will make you think you went against SWF and you've stomped a lot of SWF that you didn't know were SWF.
This. Exactly freaking this.

That's the message I had to read after winning at 5 gens left.
It's frustrating, but it wasn't a free escape. It was just RNG. It happens.

The game is very poorly optimized. If you are running the game at more than 60fps, it's gonna cook your graphics card.
Even on low settings, at 60+ fps my 1080ti burns up. Yet I can run DOOM 2016 at all Ultra setting 120+ frames and never even come close to hitting max temperature.
I mean...I run it at 144fps with Gsync. My video card is an air cooled 1080ti and doesn't get that hot. 60c tops.
-
SWF doesn't promote any of that. That's down to specific people. 90% of SWF players are just normal skilled survivors chatting with their friends while they play. In fact - you'd be surprised how often when I play survivor and we win, the killer says "nice SWF" before leaving post game chat - when we're solos.

That’s also not what I mean. I mean the effect is put on a survivor and they can fix it themselves, but the longer they don’t fix it, the worse it gets.
Again, no. That would be game breakingly annoying.

@AetherBytes said:
To clear things up (since I started this entire argument apparently)
This is what I refer to as a "lost cause" game. 2 survivors left, 3 gens within easy chase distance, and no key present in the trial. When your teammate is camping hatch. You either DC, let killer kill you, or hope to appeal to any honour code the killer may have and punish the hatch camper for stalling out the game and AFKing. In a case like this, I don't believe it's bannable, as it's the last option you have left.
The report system, the one that specifically mentions "helping/working with the killer" as a bannable offense, says otherwise.
Whether or not they are camping hatch, yes that makes them scummy, but you're still helping the killer get a kill.

I'd like him if he didn't need add-ons for the slow and AoE to be significant
THIS is the kind of buff he could use. It's sensible. Like how Wraith got a built in Windstorm...though I think his built in Windstorm should be on the level of his current purple windstorm. Then he'd be top half of killers IMO.
Clown's tonic needs a longer effect duration built in at the very least.

I don’t mean permanent effects. I mean like at a duration, maybe such as the mend timer on legion combined with plague/doctors effect.
Yeah, no. I don't want the clown turning into another one of those "deep wounds" killers. That's the sole reason people still DC against Legion. It's annoying.

No. It's making a decision to try and save yourself. The killer chooses to kill you or swap and follow. Theyre not obligated to follow your instructions.
If you messaged the killer at start, "hey find me I'll show you all survivors with bond", that would be working with killer.
No, actually, it's bannable. It's not even up for debate.

@Paladin_Goo A good friend of mine stopped playing almost a year ago because he got banned for using a macro for struggle. Still won't come back to the game so yes. You most definitely CAN get banned. Its just a matter of time when it decides to pick it up and report.
Question is, what was he using? AutoHotKey? His mouse/keyboard software? If so, which keyboard/mouse software?

i wouldn't complain. Killers in the last few expansions have gotten the majority of the good perks, or at least better than the survivors that came with them. Except for Ash...MoM was ridiculous and stupid.
But like, Bamboozle, spirit fury, haunted grounds, mad grit etc.

I mean, it really shouldn’t, plus you really only get banned for messing with the game’s files, but don’t quote me on that. I guess it’s a VERY small risk with a slightly larger downside that MAY happen, but I wouldn’t think you’d be banned.
People HAVE been banned for certain macros.
-
While the way BHVR has done the struggle mechanic is beyond dated and stupid - yes, macros are currently bannable. EAC can potentially detect them and the game EULA I believe mentions macros being blacklisted. Which is funny when you consider all the fog whisperers who use them.

No, but the word "basically" softens his 100% accurate point. The original post does indeed suggest that it should be possible to grab healthy survivors at vaults. And he was expressing rightful concern.
So "basically" he was being polite and then you came and went full moron on him
Not..really. No, just no. You can already grab slow and medium vaulting survivors when they vault, whether they are injured or not. I don't see the issue. It's literally just a different animation if you go back and watch old DBD videos, specifically beta gameplay.
-
Look at it this way - all the survivors are the same, and there's only 3 killers worth a damn. All the best survivor perks come from base game survivors. There. Cheap game.

Allow us to bind killer and survivor control schemes independent of each other.

Stop right there.
So if killers are entitled to only the kills they get when they get it that means until the game is over you're still fair game. If you can't manage to get the hatch or open a door then you're going to die. The fact that regardless of whether your team is trash or the killer was good, not that it makes a difference, you collectively failed your objective. You should feel pressured then be cause you have lost your biggest advantage. You're calling someone entitled for just playing the game? Until you see the results screen the game isn't over. The game doesn't stop when three people die and it isn't as if EGC isn't killing because rarely do people die to Entity sacs unless they want to die to it. Killer's not going afk and somehow magically dooming you.
Stop right there - I never said survivors should get special treatment. In fact I even went on record above and said that end game was perfectly balanced, and the only thing that needed adjustment was doors being placed on the same wall.
I'm calling them entitled for acting like they are entitled to the 4k just because they killed the first 3 survivors. If they get it, they get it, but it's not theirs until that happens. Whether it be during end game collapse or otherwise.
@[Deleted User] said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/528317#Comment_528317
Well first off, because I didn't agree with your logic, that makes me a killer main apparently. That's some pretty shoddy and faulty logic, let's get that straight.
Secondly, by your own logic,
you're only entitled to what you get when you get it.So when you get a bad team as a survivor, you shouldn't be receiving special treatment for that.Survivors shouldn't be gifted a free win for failing to meet their objective. If you want that win as the last survivor, prepare to work for it against the odds to make up for the fact that you failed your primary objective as a team. You don't see killers receiving a free second and third chance when they fail to kill anyone after all, even when the map is woefully stacked against them.
I can agree that doors shouldn't spawn on the same walls beside each other but the whole point of the doors and EGC is that there's supposed to be a slim chance of survival. That works both ways though -- there shouldn't be a good chance of survival, and there shouldn't be zero chance at survival.
I don't believe I mentioned having special treatment. I also never called you a killer main specifically. Please don't put words in my mouth. It doesn't help your argument. My ONLY gripe is that the exit gates should be on opposite walls.
The thing you have wrong is "survivors" as a whole don't fail to meet objectives. It's not a team game. The devs have gone on record saying that. That's why the hatch exists. Survivors fail INDIVIDUALLY. Not as a unit.

95% of SWF players are just shooting the ######### with their friends. They aren't this god tier team of toxicity that people like you make them out to be. Sure - those exist, but in such a small inconsequential number that at this point, killers are using it as an excuse.
The fact that there's killers who ######### all over SWF teams, from Marth, to Tru3 and even Pug and Scott, kind of proves that killers who ######### THAT MUCH about SWF just need to git gud and realize you can't win them all.
