hit them with victors spin top and they drop their item. Park charlotte near the item and wait with insideous and wait for them to pick up the item. cha ching. works really well on keys and medkits.

This is actually the kind of things I was hoping to hear when I opened the thread. Good stuff.

Still my favorite and i like the role play involved with making survivors complacent with distressing and then tricking them with dark devotion.

I remember playing a lot of Doc with Unnerving Presence, Distressing, Overcharge and Coulrophobia with Gideon’s offering back in the days. It wouldn’t work against high ranks, but so freaking fun at rank reset. Had Dark Devotion existed at the time, I 100% would’ve throw it in.

I don't really have one anymore, but I have an interesting story: Old Freddy with Overcharge.

And now you are probably thinking: "Why?" Well, survivors that didn't have Self-Care had to find a way to escape the Dream World, otherwise I would be able to attack them. And Overcharge was a free escape, and so they intentionally failed the skill check every single time... only for me to go back to the gen and pull them into the Dream World again :)

I know it sounds weird at first, but it was a good build.

Well it’s not that I think it’s bad intentionally, but at old Freddy’s time everybody purple and above were using self-care so that does sound odd. But yeah old Freddy was funny and had high Meme potential, because if you lose a game “well... it’s Freddy”, but if you win...

The "your not stopping me from killing/hooking someone build"

Forced penance and star struck, because if they are downed and broken for the next 60s they are injured. Also normal protection hits make people broken. And stops hook bombing.

Love using this in higher ranks, especially as deathslinger or huntress or nurse.

Broken hatchets are so fun, when you hit that snipe and see someone broken.

Yeah I like these. I played a lot of Agitation/Iron Grasp/Mad Grit and now I’m looking forward to put Stastruck right there ahah

Huntress with I'm All Ears, BBQ, Nemesis, Enduring.

And my personal favourite, Trapper with Infectious Fright, Sloppy Butcher, STBFL, Surge and Padded Jaws.

Why do I feel Make your Choice is bad on Ghostface? You could easily stalk the unhooking guy instead of using one of 4 precious perk slots, right? Am I missing something? The others I like, I think I’m going to try the Spirit one

  • @ManyAchievables said:

I used to use this a lot on Ghostface but I feel like it would work even better on Wraith.

    Ignore The Obsession:

    -Rancor

    -Save The Best For Last

    -Dying Light

-A Perk Of Your Choice (I'd recommend Sloppy Butcher personally)

This works just how you imagine. You don't care about the obsession at all, Mori them at endgame and have 6 stacks and major slowdown to just demolish people with.

That sounds fun, I’ll try it! Why not throwing in PWYF as well instead of Sloppy? With Wraith you can easily build that up, specially with his new movement speed addons.

    Is it tho?

I mean, if we discard very low rank where they wouldn't even know what a key is supposed to do, I've seen A LOT of low rank player literally throw the game by hidding all game long in the hope that they'll be able to use the key, and they often succeed.

And at low rank its even worst since you get either coordinated teams that will exploit the thing to the max or solos that know how to convey the very simple and clear message "I GOT THE KEY BRO!"

Well a low rank player hiding all the game to use the key at the end isn’t the issue killer players have with keys. Those games are going to end with a 3K, and one guy that could take the hatch even without a key. Problem is when a good team rush 4 gens and you get 1K, and maybe you’re on a 3gen strat, and they just open the hatch and leave at what (for you) is mid-game. That won’t happen in low mmr.

Yeah, DbD broke my PS4 pro.

Now they’ll tell you to clean the dust, change the thermal paste etc etc but none of that worked with me. I surely hope it does for you.

The funny thing is no one wants to admit this game is actually capable of Breaking consoles, but it is. You can hear at that menu that even a brand new PS4 will go much louder than normal. Everyone calling it a hardware problem when tons of users had the same issue with ps4s that worked fine with other games.

    Right.

Because HALF of the two teams in play is "a minority".

Yeah, make sens. Oh wait. Did you thought since the player was alone it meant he is the minority?

So what? Will he never be address, since, yaknow, he will always be in numerical inferiority?

What kind of reason is that?!

I think he meant that while moris had the same consistency through all the player base, keys are almost a high mmr issue. And that would be kind of true.

It was a problem lol they raised it a few years ago (not too long after Legion IIRC) and it's frustrating. At least with plunderers theres the excuse they used a perk slot for it.

    Hmmm yeah okay but before Trickster it happened once in a while. To me, at least. Today I found keys, as I said, 100% of the times, in a row, more than 20 games... honestly it doesn’t feel like it can be random;

I mean, if it's only happening recently, it isn't much of an indication of a problem. If it happens for more than lets say, three days, on a very consistent level, then we can say there is a problem.

I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying wait and see.

Oh yeah definitely. I posted this on general discussions and not in the feedbacks to see if and how other people were experiencing this, someone already said it’s happening to them too. To me it looks like the spawn rate of keys went up for some reason, but surely if that’s the case we’ll see a tons of posts here soon.

Like a year ago maybe I ran mad grit + iron grasp on demo, and luckily i got a swf that really liked to body block hooks.

They ended up all getting downed on my 2nd person hooked.

I’m looking forward to run Mad Grit, Agitation, Iron Grasp and the new-added Starstruck. It will lose me SO MANY GAMES but when I’ll win one, it’ll be legendary.

  • It never works, but when it does its damn satisfying, it gives you a powerful chance to exploit their mistakes. A fine perk indeed.

  • What’s the valid way to deal with SWF?

  • I don’t know about you guys but since the cursed hud/animations update I’ve never been able to find a single game as killer as soon as I touched rank 4. Now, with mmr, it’s slightly better but still it’s like 10 minutes. That’s why I’m consistently playing survivor for the first time. I can’t even imagine what will happen next to the queues.

  • DbD has a rough learning curve. It takes time, dedication and a lot of grinding, reading and thinking to be good at this game. That’s the reason why many of us love the game. If you can’t put all of that into a single game, DbD is not a game for you and I don’t know why you thought otherwise.

  • Oh don’t worry you’ll still be able to do five gens before the second hook.

  • @brokedownpalace said:

You people seriously need to adjust your monitors/TVs.

Nope, on PS4 whatever you do Autohaven will be too dark. And by “too dark” I mean you can’t see black things like Ghostface or a dark-clothes survivor working on a gen. You just see black spots.

Can’t be our TVs if the problem is only with one map.

  • I think it’s a good perk, but why on earth would you use it instead of BBQ/Discordance? If you need a tracking perk those are overall much better, and BBQ also gives you BPs.

The only exception would be if you’re using a build where Surveillance goes combo, but again you’re “wasting” (optimization-wise) perk slots you could use for better stuff.

A good example would be to turn this on Survivor’s side; would you use Dance with Me alone? No, it’s useless. Would you use it with Lithe and Quick&Quiet? Hell yes, that’s a good and fun build to run. But would that be “better” and give you more chance to succeed than Dead Hard, DS and Unbreakable? No.

Honestly I’ve always thought people gets too much effort on thinking what should be nerfed, while the DbD problem is what should be buffed.

  • Always read your opponent’s perks and add-ons at the end of the game, especially when you encounter mechanics you don’t know!

As explained by other users, that was Borrowed Time. You need to know it only activates based on Terror Radius; meaning that, if for whatever reason you don’t have a Terror Radius (cloaked Wraith is an example), that won’t activate.

  • Killers need a perk to destroy pallets before they get dropped

  • Well if they are exposed it’s literally the same as if they were injured so I don’t see why you shouldn’t get a protection hit.

I’m in red ranks EU and honestly not having a problem. Most survivors are pretty bad

I am red ranks EU too and literally every game three gens pop in 80-90 seconds.

  • Agree on everything but Kate. Kate is above super toxic. In my games 99% of flashlight spamming are Kates.

While I agree with this how do you define bullying? Alot of killers claim to get bullied but other than abusive language after the game how can you actually bully them?

With three flashlights at the same time. Whatever you do to ruin the other person’s experience WITHOUT getting you an advantage in the game is just harassing someone. It becomes bullying when you have a heavy advantage and clearly just want to show you’re better. Which you are not.

As I said, another example of killer bullying survivors would be to slug and watch them crawl when they’re the last one alive and the hatch isn’t closed. The only reason you would do that is to waste that player’s personal time.

  • He is saying that they can, but that ignoring someone else’s fun and bullying them are different things. And he also said that there shouldn’t be any bullying from both sides so I don’t see why you ask.

Ignoring survivor’s fun means that if I feel like a need to camp a hook to gain an advantage, I will camp.

Bullying you is slugging you and watching you crawl when you’re the last survivor alive without even closing the hatch to fulfill some sadistic pleasure in your bleed out timer going down while I know I’m wasting you personal time. You see, that doesn’t win me the game because I’ve already won. I’m just doing that to make you feel powerless.

Btw the difference between the two things is supposed to be a basic notion in real life, not in some videogame.

    edit: grammar

  • @pseudechis said:

My solo survivor experience is really different to this.

Yeah you get games where you can run the killer for a minute and not a single gen pops or you can hang on hook and watch your buddies do nothing while you slip into second stage.

I've been camped and tunneled but not often and usually because my team mates have created the scenario where its advantageous for the killer to do so rather than the killer just targetted me. The number of times I've been farmed in the killer's face. Also to say all of one particular killer camps is kinda BS.

But games like that are the exceptions not the norm.

I played pretty much only killer for the first year of the game, but have delved into survivor for the last 6 months and now play both regularly, still prefer killer.

I'd say survivor is far less stressful, generally easier, on the receiving end of far less toxicity, I've rarely been abused in endgame by a killer. I'm often more disgusted by my teammates behaviour than the killer's.

I'd say I have a 3-5 star game experience as survivor for most games, where as, even though I prefer playing killer, I often rate games as 1-3 stars just on the poor state of survivor behaviour.

Getting slugged is part of the game and you are still in play, crawl dammit. Make that killer look for you. Best escape I ever had I crawled across the map to the hatch and escaped. I mean ACROSS the map, from one corner to the other nearly, on corn map. It still makes me smile to think about it.

I'd say slugging the last survivor to bleed out is really obnoxious, but its kinda like the survivor team who stand their BM'ing at the gate for the whole egc, just leave dammit. That's what I do if we are all there and all healed and the killer is nowhere in sight I just leave.

Survivor queues are long enough without standing around for 2 mins to button mash every match. I'd rather get back into the queue and move on, than waste my time.

I often find myself empathizing with an angry killer because they have probably had a run of really ######### matches and after I run them well they hook and smack me and I can't help thinking is this about me or is it you've just had enough for the night and I've drawn the short straw ire for the evening. I'm not condoning it but I understand where it may come from.

Also the very theme of the game is that the killer is kind of meant to torture and murder you, so I can't say I get upset when they do just that because hey its thematic. I don't mind being mori'd, it feels like an appropriate end.

I should state that I don't give a ######### about rank, but find the red rank gaming experience to often be more unpleasant than a casual green/purp mid rank game experience.

(This is all just my personal opinion and play experience of course your experience may differ).

“Also to say all of one particular killer camps is kinda BS.”

You can think it’s bs but it’s true, in my personal experience at least. All of the Huntress I’ve met were heavily camping all of their hooks. It’s a fact I don’t see in what way you can consider it “bs”. I didn’t say that all the Huntress in the world are surely doing the same thing.

  • They are different things.

DH is a “problem” in terms of gameplay.

Tombstone doesn’t win you games, but is awful to play against and to my opinion complete bs. No matter how you deserved it, click to remove a player from the game can’t be good. Myers would be better with stronger addons to win chases and less annoying things like that. Mirror Myers is actually one of the most fun, and atmosphere-fitting builds to play with AND against, although it can be quite weak. In my opinion The Shade needs some form of buff to that gameplay and to his mindgame potential, in exchange to losing his instakill.

  • @Yamaoka said:

Solo is a mixed bag. On some days you just want to uninstall after getting nothing but potato teammates all day but if you play at the right time of the day you can get ridiculously good teammates even solo.

Yesterday -I kid you not- my gf played a solo match and she and her team pumped out 4 gens in 2 min 40s - and there were no toolboxes and no prove thyself.

Again: 4 gens in 2 min 40s against a rank 3 Spirit. (she recorded it too. If someone doubts it I can upload it to my channel)

    Needless to say everyone escaped.

She played that match in the morning. I too noticed that my killer matches are a lot more difficult when I play them in the morning.

Oh ofc game is not unplayable I’m not saying that, at all, there are indeed many good survivors and I still think the game is heavily survivor sided, SWF/lucky matchmaking and overall player skill certainly proves that. There are some good games playing solo, but from my experience they were only a few. And in those scenarios then I can see why killers act aggressively and/or sweaty, nothing wrong about that. This post is about trials where the killer clearly dominates and still acts sweaty and kind of toxic in some cases.

I'm always solo. I record my gameplay and write the game data on a excel spreadsheet to see exactly how often it really happens. It really doesn't happen a lot. But when it does , it sucks and u tend to remember it.

I wouldn’t know about a longer experience, but as I said in a week of playtime that was my general perception of the game. And it wasn’t good at all.

I’m no Pig player so I’m a bit uncertain about this, but doesn’t seem cool to me."

This. Literally every game I have with Pig, someone with an active RBT gets tunneled out of the game. I legit do not understand why this happens

I honestly don’t know why they do that. As I said I don’t play Pig, so maybe I’m just getting something wrong, but it feels to me that they are playing against the Pig’s purpose and against their goals only to... piss off people? I really don’t know.

Obviously, if the killer chases someone for more than 30 seconds, he´s tunneling.

What? No. I wouldnt abuse the “tunneling” term, don’t forget I am writing this as an experienced and dedicated killer, man. I also hate when I they call me a tunneler for no reason. What I meant by point 4 (to also answer @OmegaXII ) is that every time with no DS in the game the killer would just camp a hooked survivor, wait until he would eventually be unhooked with BT, kept chasing that guy, hooked that guy again and repeated until he died. You can win games against solos this way, unless all 4 of them have Kindred and decide to punish you for camping. What I am trying to mark here is that killers know this and do it on purpose as soon as they realize they’re against solo people.

To answer this you could easily say that Kindred is mandatory when playing solo and you would be right.

But should a perk be mandatory? Also this discussion wasn’t about mechanics, it was about mindset. It appears to me, now, that many killers have a mindset I don’t share.

  • Option 2 goes from borderline useless (4 survivors alive) to extremely overpowered (2 survivors alive).

Option 1 is actually interesting, I’ve always thought it would be cool if killers in general could interact more with generators aside from the usual 3-4 slowdown perks.

  • @DecisiveDwight said:

Keys are fine your problem from all your complaints isn't that keys are letting all survivors escape it's that the hatch spawns when generators aren't all finished so instead of nerfing keys only have hatch spawn after all gens are finished or when the last survivor is alive there I just fixed your problem without nerfing keys and if you still have a issue with it then when all gens are done killer can see hatch as well as doors but not when only one survivor remains. You're welcome

I’d be 100% fine with this.

Exactly, and just like queues will always be a thing vocal chats will do the same :)

  • As someone who consistently play Legion, this: is what makes more sense to me:

    • Per every stab, Legion's stun gets longer (Using Frenzy with no stabs has no stun), and make that when Frenzy's power gauge is at least 25%, you can use it as if it was at 100%

...it’s honestly good. I mean survivors won’t be affected almost at all by this, because who cares if he has no stun after 0 stabs? The worst thing that can happen is a M1, which is probably better for them than a Frenzy hit. The only completely broken bit about this is (and I bet you didn’t consider this) against injured survivors. Like, I’m chasing an injured survivor that has some distance, activate Frenzy to gain ground, get out of Frenzy with no stun because 0 hits, M1 him and downing him. That would be a little bit like old Legion (no matter how better you are than me, you’re going down) and honestly maybe op. Could easily be fixed by a reasonable stun, like 1 sec.

I don’t see the second option being a thing, because Feral Frenzy was never supposed to be lethal or a game changer, it was intended from the start to be a massive slowdown tool.

Steam is the only one that allows people to check this data, as far as I know. However, there's no reason to believe that players on other platforms are any different from the ones on Steam. Furthermore, if you turn off crossplay, you're only matched with others who have done the same, who are a very small minority. Queue times with crossplay disabled don't mean anything.

They mean something if they were shorter by a half until 4.5

People are leaving the game though, the stats of people playing on Steam are dropping from what I remember.

I hate when people refer to Steam charts to know how many players are leaving/joining. LOTS of players are from Xbox, PS4/PS5, Switch. I own the game on all three of them and I assure you, if you turn cross-play off and look for a game as killer you won’t believe it. The queue times have never been this long. Yes, people left the game. Much more people than Steam can tell.

  • So people should just talk to their friends all day on Discord and then close the chat because they’re going to play DbD? Lmao. Get over it. Gaming involves chats.

  • @Shaped said:

Please try that build on red ranks and 4k every game. I dare you.

I never use that build because I actually want to win a game not lose. It makes you slow and by the time you get to tier 3 the game is over against at least somewhat competent survivors who refuse to feed you.

I don't even care if they remove it tbh. Even better if they give us something that is actually helpful.

This. Not many realize that the build we’re discussing is too frustrating to play against for average players AND too hard to play with against good players, so it’s basically just BAD in every way or shape (lol).

I can guarantee you that, from the survivor’s perspective (didn’t play a lot of surv so I never was that good) playing against unlimited T3 is very, very annoying and makes you feel helpless. EVEN MORE when you’re a killer main that knows how hard it is to stalk that much, and can’t explain why the enemy just did that in the first minute.

Honestly it needs to go. Jumpscare Myers is much more fun, and if a killer can have addons to drastically change their playstyle they can throw unlimited T3 out the window and create lots of “better” things for both sides.

1 2 3 4 … 7
