I completely agree and have to add: I think some of the things you mentioned need to have skill checks instead. Plague fountains and mending, for example, are a form of healing. Why there’s no skill checks?
-
I don’t “hate” on anyone but I had to permanently turn crossplay off because playing solo survivor is kind of an impossible challenge. My ps4 random teammates are beasts to the point I’m always the weakest looper in the game, always play as a team, save before second hook stage etc. As soon as I play with pc people none of that happens, they just ignore me when I need help and I’m usually the only one doing gens. I don’t know why, honestly, but that’s what happens.
-
The dude can hit people through obstacles without getting any kind of fatigue like Nurse does. He is fine.
-
Yes its fine. If every survivor cleanse a totem as soon as the trial starts there’s only one remaining and they only lost like 10 seconds.
Proof of NOED being fine is how it’s useless against good survivors. It could even use a buff if you ask me.
The only nerf I would agree to is to show the exposed status effect before someone gets hit, when the last gen pops.
-
Lmao
-
- Trapper. Having been playing Trapper for thousands of hours I know how a single succesful trap can snowball and I’m TERRIFIED by him to the point I won’t even try to loop and just keep running straight.
- Pyramid Head. His long range is BS and always has been. I’m okay with Nurse because although she can go through obstacles she gets fatigue if she misses. PH doesn’t care. You vault? Get hit by ability. Fake vault? Get hit by M1. Pallet? Nope, you get hit. Dodge aoe? M1. The only way of not getting hit by PH is by turning off my ps4.
- Yes… Spirit. She shouldn’t exist. I don’t care if she’s nerfed, she should be nerfed more. I don’t care if she’s balanced or not, she should not exist in any way, shape or form.
-
I have literally never seen a Huntress not camping every hook.
-
Hexes are a thousand times stronger but too easily countered by simply cleansing the totem while boons can be applied again and again.

It sounds to me like the game is just widening the pool of acceptable players when you turn crossplay on. Like it can't find matches for those players, so you get the honor.
That’s quite a lot of “widening “ things ahah I’m literally going from full meta sweat competitive lobbies to people without any knowledge… I don’t know why that happens but i for sure don’t like it.

Obviously you neve experienced the pre drop meta. Wraith is still fine it's only a minor difference. Still a sneaky fast killer. Doctor Denying pallets is entirely up to the survivor and what they do. If they drop then it's a free pallet but the gens fly so nothing changes.
I’ve been here since launch on console, I’ve experienced everything… sadly. Still, if you drop a safe pallet there’s not much Wraith can do. Doc’s ability to deny you from dropping it makes a huge difference for me. I’m not saying he’s Nurse, just that he and all other M1 killers can be considered of the same tier, and that they are way more hindered by gen speed than by their movesets

Wraith is better than Doctor. No competition with that anymore. Wraith is Low B Doctor is Mid to Low C. And my biggest problem with the timing shock thing is usually my ping Cause i shock and they still vault anyways or realize they'll be screwed and then just eat a hit or use the pallet.
They can’t use the pallet if you have just shocked them. Wraith just got nerfed to the point he can’t deny a safe loop anymore; Doc can always deny a safe loop by shocking with the right timing. There’s no comparison honestly.
-
Hmm have you ever played against a top tier doctor? I don’t think he’s bad at all. I think what you’re suffering is the true reason survivors are the power role: gens speed. If you get demolished is because gens goes too fast not because Doc is bad. I don’t see Doctor being worse than Trapper, Wraith etc.
If you learn how to time your shocks (against not-cheating Nancies) you won’t be looped at all; like, ever. You will probably still lose because gens will fly, tho.
-
Honestly I don’t get it either. I have always been a rank 1 killer until I stopped playing (around Trickster release) and being PS4/EU I can tell you the survivors I faced were absolute monsters at the game. Now that MMR is on and I started playing again (a month ago) with cross play OFF it seems like nothing has changed, I’m going against 4-men bully squads with perfect timing and coordination; but as soon as I toggle Cross Play on and see my lobbies full of pc players I’m getting baby survivors who don’t even know the basics of looping. Is it possible that different MMR for the same account are into play?
-
Switch is literally unplayable.
Ps4 feels better than two months ago but still not good and loading times are endless.
Also let’s not forget DbD broke my ps4 Pro because it took them like 4 years to remove the little fire particles from the offering screen.

Oh well, they messed up again.
-
She’s still op and always will. As long as she can close long gaps and then miss a hit without getting stunned LIKE EVERY OTHER KILLER she will be overpowered.
-
I think Spirit is complete BS since her release and I agree she needs big nerfs but I disagree with many of your points; I will explain why and how.
- By making her glass visibly doing something different when she phase you completely kill her mindgames at pallets.
- By increasing her cooldown when not in a chase you decrease her map presence; she needs that because when not using her power she is too slow.
- This is what needs to happen, I’ll explain more on bottom.
- By doing this (and n.2 also) you’re making Spirit weaker out of chases and MORE powerful in a chase. The last thing Spirit needs is more chase potential.
- By this you contradicted your previous point. Why make her more powerful in a chase, let her see blood and scratchmarks and then remove sound cues? Core mechanics should be equal to every killer so sounds for Spirit should be the same as the others.
- I don’t think the problem is her addons. They have been reworked and almost nothing changed, the problem is her base kit.
About point .3
Spirit is the only killer in the entire game who is capable of closing long distances fast without any form or stun/animation after doing so.
Long-range projectile killers (Huntress, Plague, Slinger, Trickster) and closing-gap killers (meaning they can close distance during a chase - Wraith, Billy, Nurse, Pig, Legion, Demogorgon, Oni, PyramidHead, Blight and Twins) all have a stun/animation during which they can’t attack you if they miss the first attempt. The only exception being Clown, but not so much: firstly his ranged doesnt do damage and secondly he needs to reload bottles. Every killer has some form of slowdown after using their power, something that blocks them from immediately hit you, BUT NOT THE SPIRIT. If you “win” a mindgame against the Spirit you will have gained minimum distance and she’ll be in melee reach after a few seconds. And honestly this is where her problem lies. Make the phase walk easier to use, yes, but stun her if she misses.
TLDR: Spirit is the only killer in the entire game that doesn’t get stunned after closing a big distance and MISSING a basic attack and that’s where the problem is.

I'm on ps4, you can change the controls in settings. I changed actions to circle after dropping too many pallets when trying to heal someone off the ground. I also changed drop item to square since default it was circle, I didn't want to accidently drop an item instead of vaulting mid-chase. If you change buttons just check if it's already used for something else to make sure it won't screw you over some other way. It sucks for first few matches but you get used to it quicker than you think.

Thank you very much. But if you rebind circle to pallets you won’t be able to move your camera when you have to drop a pallet and honestly I could never play the game like that. I suggest you don’t do that unless you play claw.

By default, the interaction button (Healing, Victor, Snapping, Repairing, Cleansing, Searching, etc) is M1, and the Vaulting and Dropping buttons by default is space.
Even when I stick my controller in, I can split them apart:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/O6JSC280NKAR/image.png
(I use a PS4 controller so RB is R1, RT is R2, A is X, B is Circle, and X is Y)

Then that’s the problem because by default the Pallet/Vault button on PS4 is the same as Interactions. I don’t know if I can change that but I doubt it - and it would be so hard to adjust muscle memory. Will check the settings as soon as I can

That seems like a problem with console that would need you to rebind either your interaction button or pallet button from R1, if that's even possible to do on console (it's been so long). Shame that the devs still don't know how to get the console versions of their game working but oh well.
Okay wait I don’t know how PC works but on PS4 it’s the same button for every interaction. Pallets, Vaulting, Gens, SC, Unhook, Chests, Totems, Recover, Heal and Victor are all on R1 isn’t that always M1 on pc? I can’t remap one of these interactions to a different button.
edit; misspelled buttons

You're meant to be able to but it wouldn't shock me if the game didn't let you
I mean I’ve been only playing survivor for a short time, I think I faced Twins like... 20 times, approximatively? But i am 100% sure that I can’t interact with anything (PS4) while I have Victor on because if I press R1 my character will only interact with victor - even while I’m running.
-
Wait... can you drop pallets while you have Victor on? I can’t.

Decrease the bleed out timer to 2 minutes, exactly the same time as two hook states.
If neither side can pick the Survivor up in that amount of time or they are constantly being slugged I'd think most would clearly just want to move onto the next game.
4 minutes is excessive and unneeded.
Problem solved.
Yes please. This makes a lot of sense.

Its hated due to many of those who run it and refuse to not use it when they are injured. The number of times I've tried to heal someone off hook with Medkit + Botany + We'll Make It who just run off to Self Care behind a rock have been to numerous to count.
Besides you're better off taking a medkit over Self Care. You shouldn't be healing yourself too much each match as it turns into a huge time sink especially when using Self Care. 🤷♀️
First part, okay I see that. People are the problem in that case, not the perk itself; I disagree on the second part. As I said, there are MANY times where self care makes the difference between life and death, even if you have a medkit (which will have double uses if you bring SC, btw). It’s all about the end game. One or two people hooked, exit gates 99ed and the other two/the last one injured, killer patrolling between two hooks. Medkit is usually over at that point, and Franklin is a common choice. This is just an example of a VERY common scenario where self care + borrowed can get three people to safety, while without it it’s two people dead. SC is a great perk, people should just stop abusing it when there’s no need to.
-
I don’t know why it is hated, i could think of at least 2-3 games every day where I’d die without it but survive instead because I’ll be able to heal in a critical situation.
Btw, Botany Knowledge provides a bigger boost to healing, but Resilience boosts your vaulting speed too. Honestly try one then the other then both and see what’s best for you.

Are you guys having fun with the new no stun bug?
How often are you guys instantly getting tunneled or camped?.
How often do you guys win now?.
Are killers playing more "rude"?.
Are you running into more slugging builds than before?.
How often do you actually use DS?
Now:
My own experience playing survivor since the all kill patch in case you are wondering.
1. This bug needs to be fixed asap since it makes weak pallets weaker and strong pallets weaker.
2. Out of 10 matches today I got facecamped 7 and instantly tunneled all matches when there was no obsession even if the unhooker was injured.
3. Not as often anymore.
4. Been noticing that killers have been more rude but I don't really mind that.
5.in fact yes, I'm starting to see more sluggers than before.
6. I don't get value so I don't use it at all, I have been using more obsession perks though.
This is a legit question from a killer main to survivor mains.
Op, I am not a survivor main. I mainly played killer and started consistently playing survivor with the infamous 4.5 patch. I already made a thread about my experience in solo Q, and how that has been dreadful. Having that said, I’ll honestly answer your questions:
- The stun bug must be fixed asap, obviously.
- I only get face camped when I loop for long chases, I usually don’t get tunneled but the killers will slug me whenever they can after I’m unhooked. Although I do think that’s fair, I still think it’s unhealthy for the game. But I don’t blame that on the killer, I blame gen speed.
- I’d say I escape the trial half of the times and die the other half.
- I don’t know how rude killers were before so I wouldn’t know.
- I don’t see a lot of slug builds (currently rank 3). The most popular perks I see are BBQ, Pop, Discordance, Ruin/Undying; sometimes there’s a Sloppy, but almost never paired with Thana/DL unless Forever Freddy, which is, in my opinion, a real problem.
- I am occasionally using DS; as long as you are unhooked during the EGC, that is still a free escape. During the game I won’t keep it, if I don’t get tunneled (and I usually am not) I’ll just heal or do a gen. When I do get tunneled, it works as intended. It is still a very viable perk in my opinion.
-
Every time I go against a Nurse I’ll stealth most of the trial and she’ll never find me, and I will die in the end because my three teammates will play bold and cocky without even attempting to hide, and try to loop her like they’d do with a Billy.
If you REALLY have a problem against the Nurse start running stealth perks and try not to get in a chase in the first place. Funny thing about her is if she doesn’t find you with her blink she then has to look around with her slow movement speed. If she doesn’t find you she will go away because she’ll feel there’s no time to waste.
Iron Will, Q&Q, Distortion, hell even Urban can be quite useful against a Nurse. You need to realize good Nurse players are used to focus on chase potential, not on finding people. IF you get in chase with her, I feel other comments have already covered everything.
-
Probably because it’s the only killer they feel confident in front of an audience. It’s very hard to bully a Huntress with half-decent aim.

Uhmmm okay honestly I can relate to the op ahah but with some exception. I would have put Twins and Huntress in the lowest tier, IMO they’re the most boring to go against just the same as Spirit. On the opposite, to me Nurse and Billy would both be S tier.
-
You too, good stuff

The solution is not to remove SWF. SWF isn’t bad. People are.
I have played against many chill SWF teams that didn’t try to ruin my enjoyment nor played excessively sweaty, there’s no reason to keep people from having fun with friends.
The problem here are those teams that absolutely need to win and will exploit everything in the game (and outside since I got ddossed more than once) to do so.
In other words, the problem here is the people treating DbD like it’s some competitive esport. It’s not. The solution is easy: kill the genrush so that a coordinated team can’t achieve its goal in 1/5 the time 4 solos need.
That’s the only way, but the devs won’t listen 🤷🏻♂️

I just tunnel if there’s no obsession, survivors don’t wanna pay the DS tax and instead been stacking up on the other second chance perks instead. No reason not to punish the greed.
This is exactly why there needs to be an obsession every game even if there’s no perk involved
-
I agree. Lets just remove it.

I’ll be the one giving an unpopular opinion here, but I think her exhaustion perk is useless and the other two are extremely strong.

I disagree.
Their powers are somewhat similar in execution: The ability to quickly close in on survivors. They both come with a drawback. The nurse has to time her blinks to cover the right amount of distance, while the Spirit cannot see survivors while out of phase.
The -huge- difference, though, is that Nurse suffers really heavy repercussions for whiffing this very strong power. If you mistime or miss your blink, you are stunned for 3 seconds AND you can't see anything!
Whereas if Spirit gets thrown off during Phasewalk, she just picks the chase back up -immediately-. This lack of a consequence to getting juked makes her so unfair. A perfect outplay will barely net you any distance against Spirit. Against Nurse, it adds a ton of time to the chase.
Spirit would need something that would heavily punish her for misreading a situation or getting juked in order to bring her in line. Perhaps something like "Once you let go of phasewalk, for the next five seconds, you can't see survivors or their scratch marks. You can still attack during this time".
Just make her pay for getting thrown off, like the nurse does.
Couldn’t agree more with everything you said. Literally every killer in the game with the ability to gain distance fast has a drawback if he messes up. Billy, LF, Nurse, Legion, they all get stunned in some way. Even the skillshot ones gets the same treatment (different mechanics, but same concept: distance) as Slinger needs to reload, Huntresses moves slower etc. Spirit is the only exception.

Bring a purple flashlight with the Ultra Rare Bulb and the Very Rare Lens
Play as a female survivor and be prestige 3, but only wear the head part
Suicide on first hook

May not kill the survivors but they'll certainly kill the mood
That’s so a Nea.

Okay guys not to play devil’s advocate but op has a point. In fact, I couldn’t find a single game as killer since MMR went on. We’re talking about 20-30 minutes waiting only to see a “ failed matchmaking “ message. That’s actually why I started playing survivor.

If you disagree please prove me wrong. The patch notes are all available to see.
Okay I’ll prove you wrong.
A gen takes 80 seconds with no great skill checks, no toolboxes, no perks and a single survivor.
That means that if you find and chase a survivor for 30 seconds from the start of the match (and that means you’re a good killer if you down someone in 30 seconds) you lose three gens. You then turn around and chase another survivor for another 30-40 seconds+the time to get to a hook, hook him and reach the nearest gen, and you have lost another one. You then repeat another time. 5 gens are done and you have three hooks, if you tunneled that’s a 1K, otherwise it’s nothing. It’s simple numbers.

Pretty sure it was Autohaven, but I can’t remember the other two perks. They didn’t sinergyze btw, they probably were something very standard (like Ruin and BBQ or something like that) because I didn’t notice at all. Thing is, he was so heavily relying on the Nemesis/PWYF combo he didn’t even need the other 2.
