NOED would become worthless. It'd be like if Sprint Burst could only be activated when the killer was far away.
-
I already suggested a similar thing, some time before the Twins came out. It's quite detailed.
-
######### EA. That's my only thought.
-
Remove perk tiers (all perks would start at what is now tier 3).

I´ll just post this here:
This is the popular DBD streamer Otzdarva making a challengue. He wants to get as killer a 50 win victories in a row (3 or 4 kills in game).
You can check his progression at this excel he shares on his Twitch channel.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1PVh8RE3uy88YjdOYPA0Xi35b8ReCDteHZo0lFYKw2HI/edit?usp=sharing
I have to say I don´t much know about Otzdarva. I suppose he is a top player.
But, if you see his stats, you will notice he has:
- 59 W streak with trapper.
- 55 W streak with nurse.
- Etc.
He has a 50 W streak with 13/ 23 killers. And he ISN´T EVEN USING ADD-ONS.
If this man can superate 50 games in a row with 3 or more kills in game, even without using add-ons, with half of the killers (till the actual date), I think these stats also speak about the GAME UNBALANCE. For he winning 50 games in a row, there are 200 survivor defeats.
Check his worksheet. I find it very interesting.
I think these stats also speak about the GAME UNBALANCE
Or a matchmaking failure.

No, I won't stop. I am the victim because I lose a lot of bp and I can't get to have fun.
You don't lose BP, you just don't gain it because you're not engaged in those interactions. That'd be like the killer getting points for hooking survivors that they never hooked while they were busy chasing you.
-
One or more streamers probably made a video guide, or compilation video, or started playing Blight more often. That's usually how these things go.
-
My advice: don't try to learn Nurse if you're not willing to lose, because you will lose, a lot, until you learn how to play her.

Yeah, I was only talking about points because this is a points discussion; the other info would not belong in this thread. I am still crunching the numbers.
The other info is essential for contextualizing the data. Otherwise it looks like you're misrepresenting it.

Why? For a match, you need 4 survs and only 1 killer. If 20k people online it only needs 5k killer to be enough.
That's assuming all the survivors escape and/or die simultaneously. In fact, you need slightly more killers than a 4:1 ratio. Furthermore, that also assumes identical rank distribution on both sides and doesn't take into account SWF (which don't usually have the same ranks).

You can hear that the killer has stridor and if you have iron will its even easier to notice. But if you always suicide, you never see when you are wrong anyway.
Good point. It's been so long since I faced a killer with Stridor that I forgot. Thanks.

How do you know the killer's perk loadout?

All I ask is a simple question to BHVR. Why do players get punished because your servers are bad? Why do players get punished if their internet goes off? Why should players loose BP from a match just because your servers are actual garbage?
Why do players get punished because your servers are bad?
They shouldn't, that's definitely an issue. However, you probably got disconnected due to Steam's servers. They went out about an hour ago.
Why do players get punished if their internet goes off?
Because you're still disconnecting and ruining the game for 4 other players. A stable internet connection is a requirement for playing online.

- Survivor main.
- I try to be a good sport, but I'm not perfect.
- Never prestiged. I have one survivor I play and that's it. I'll only level up the others if they have perks I want.
- I can get tilted sometimes just like anyone else.
- Haven't bought a single cosmetic. All the ones I have were either gifted to me (I think I was gifted two cosmetic DLCs back in the day), or came with the game.

Maybe it's because their unwillingness to fix issues that make the game boring like gen speed, and camping/tunneling and the reasons behind it are not the brightest.
Ya tunneling is a mechanic, but its an poor one at that. The survivors get punished by d pipping just like the killer because guess what, no chase interaction or benevolent points. They're accuse those perks is also a ######### excuse and shows that they know nothing about the game. BT and Ds are not anti tunnel perks because the killer will still come after you if they want.
Also them saying that your willingness to run the same perks every single match is also a ######### excuse for bad game design because you introduce over 70 perks in a 4 perk slot system and you need to always run ds bt which takes to slots up.
Next is gen speed which can force the killer into camping and tunneling because they see no way around getting a kill without it because the gens are to quick for the killer to pressure 4 people. Again yes they have perks to counter act to gens, but no one should be forced into running them when you have over 70+ perks in the game.
I'll leave it at this by saying if the threads keep happening over and over maybe there's an issue there to be dealt with, and passing it off as a game mechanic might not be the best solution and maybe instead of plaster fixes like perks maybe they should look into your game design.
Maybe it's because their unwillingness to fix issues that make the game boring like gen speed, and camping/tunneling and the reasons behind it are not the brightest.
Boring for whom? And why does "boring" take precedence over balance?
-
Hitting them ONCE immediately after hooking? IMO, no, but that's because I actually know what that's for. Other survivors might not take it well.

No. We've had this discussion plenty of times before and the conclusion is always the same: either the buffs are irrelevant, meaning they make no difference and therefore there's no reason to do this; or they're actually significant, meaning they make a big difference and therefore create a survivor character meta, while also making the game P2W because now you have to buy those characters.

@stvnhthr said:
I documented 200 DBD games in 90% of the games killer was top scorer and usually by at least 3,000. So killers make way more bloodpoints. I think the developers want it that way so people who want a hard challenging game play survivor and those who want an easy path to more bloodpoints play killer. Without lots of killer players the lobbies would slow to a crawl.
In those 90%, did all or most of the survivors die? Were there a lot of DCs and/or suicides? What were their ranks? How did those killers play? What about the 10%?
Your data is sorely lacking in details that would affect its interpretation, and your conclusion that the devs made killer "easier to play" says a lot about your biased perspective. If you want to look at your data critically and without bias, then you need to gather (and share) a lot more information than average scores.

Yeah its just one of the places they are most associated with. Hag can really be from anywhere TBH as a lot of maps make 0 sense like why does a babylonian priest have their temple in a thick forest.
The problem isn't that the Plague's map is in a forest (Babylon had the so-called "Hanging Gardens", FYI), it's that the forest itself is in Russia, on the other end of the continent.

I think a lot of people just assume that, probably because of the steamboat map.
That doesn't mean she was born in Louisiana, but even if she was, it still doesn't mean she couldn't have been taught. I wasn't born in the same country my mom was, but I still know a few dishes from her country.

Forgive me if I am wrong but isnt hag from Louisiana and died as a teenageer so she probably wouldnt have much experience with cooking. I might be wrong there.
Where'd you hear that? I tried searching for the word "Louisiana" in her article on the wiki, as well as her lore from the Archives, but I found no such thing.
You are right about her age, though. I guess I'm just hoping she remembers the stuff her grandma taught her.

Bugs in games are something and an issue caused by Latency is something else.
And yet, they all go to that section I linked to, meaning the distinction is irrelevant. And just for the record, "bug" is very commonly used as shorthand for "something isn't working correctly".

People are missing the point. If everyone just starts using camping and tunnelling as their main strategy this game will die VERY quickly.
It just makes the game incredibly boring for the majority of players who are maybe in a duo or SoloQ.
it’s not about whether it’s fair or legitimate or anything like that… it’s more that if it continues to increase in the direction it’s going then people will stop playing the game…. Because it’s basically a coin flip on whether you’re the lucky or unlucky one who actually gets to do anything all game or just stay on a hook - add the queue times and you could be playing 1 enjoyable game every 30 minutes! - that’s not sustainable.
People are missing the point. If everyone just starts using camping and tunnelling as their main strategy this game will die VERY quickly.
It's been 5 years. That point has been made for 5 years. The game has only grown. Probably because killers don't like camping any more than survivors like to be camped. However, because survivors make it worthwhile for killers, they choose the most efficient tactic.
As for "tunneling", I never got this complaint. Most survivors say the fun part of the game is being chased and abhor being told to work on gens (because holding M1 is boring), but if the killer chases them too much, they complain. You have to understand, the killer is not there for your convenience. He's not a busboy you ring up to give you a chase when you want it and then leave you alone when you don't (which, for the record, is also an inappropriate way to treat a busboy). He's a player, just like you, and therefore has his own game to think about.

You know perfectly well nobody's suggesting that the camped survivor work on gens.

If a killer is carrying a survivor on their shoulder and drops down, the survivor is immediately incapacitated and cannot wiggle any more. Y'know, because their stomach just got slammed against a hard surface.

The "news" section when you turn on the game, tells you of all updates.
So you did get the memo, just choose not to read it.
This is why I always shoot down people who say "If the devs did [thing], then everyone would know about the patch notes!". DbD devs literally have a pop-up with patch notes that you cannot disable and people still don't know about the patch notes.

I agree a lot of stuff can make you get off gens, But cleansing totems would take a while tbh Plus it's a gamble whether if the killer has NOED or not
Discounting travel time, it takes less time to cleanse all totems (5*14 = 70 seconds) than it does to fully repair one generator (80 seconds).
And yes, it's a gamble if the killer has NOED or not. It's also a gamble if the killer has BBQ, A Nurse's Calling, Haunted Ground, Monitor & Abuse, and virtually every other perk, because you can't know the killer's loadout.
What you can do, and is what I do sometimes (when I remember), is figure out which perks they have during the trial. If they only seem to have 2-3 perks, chances are, they have NOED.

Yes but let me give you a regular match in solo q: 1 teammate is hiding the other is healing and the 3rd one is down or hooked or being chased while YOU run around cleansing totems this is clearly Not helping the team since you're not doing gens and you guys aren't getting to the endgame if this is happening lol
But if a SWF is complaining yeah they're entitled
I'm going to play armchair psychologist here for a second.
You know, like any human being, that you can't do one thing the entire trial regardless of the situation.
You know, like any human being, that different situations call for different strategies. For example, you wouldn't keep working on a gen while everyone is slugged; you'd get off that gen and do something else.
You know these things, but you'd rather pretend that I - or anyone - is telling you to work solely on totems throughout the entire trial, every trial, and ignore everything else that's going on. Now, I know you're smart enough to understand that if you're in that situation, then cleansing totems is a bad idea.
Rather than simply acknowledge/recognize you'd do something else in that situation, like anyone else would, you imply that you'd still be cleansing totems (as if that had been my advice) instead of doing something else that you and I both know is better for the overall game state.
Why do you suppose you have to present that incredibly specific scenario (which, BTW, is not how solo games start, it's a development of the game and can happen to anyone, solo or not) and then pretend that I'm telling you to keep cleansing totems regardless of the situation?
-

Ah yes, Let me run around the map doing NOTHING but cleansing totems, And sacrifice perk slots then get yelled at by my teammates, For a maybe NOED
- There are 4 survivors.
- If you're not willing to sacrifice a perk slot for NOED, then clearly it's not as big an issue as you're trying to make it seem.
- Your teammates are going to yell at you regardless if they don't escape.
- Small Game works on all totems, not just dull totems or the Hex totem with NOED.
- You also have maps that can track totems, with the right add-ons. No perk slots needed.
-
@MadLordJack said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2191774#Comment_2191774
Except you need all 5. If only 4 totems are cleansed, you wasted a lot of time. If all 5 are cleansed, you wasted too much time. If multiple people are looking, you're all wasting too much time.
I'd rather a perk that forces survivors to cleanse all 5 dulls than NOED. It's so much stronger.
You really only need one, but I understand what you mean.
If I can cleanse 2 totems in a trial by myself while gens are being done, my SWF teammate cleanses another 2, and we get hit with NOED anyway, that's on the survivors for not cleansing even one totem.
There have been multiple threads from people complaining that Small Game's counter is not what the community was asking for because it "only counted totems that [they] cleansed". In truth, it counts any totems that are cleansed, it's just that nobody is willing to cleanse the totems. Sorry, but this is a player problem. NOED shouldn't be nerfed just because most survivors are unwilling to cleanse totems. Let's raise that skill floor a little, yeah?
-
Totems are easy to find, though. I find multiple totems without even trying.
-
What exactly is difficult about cleansing totems? You have Small Game, which keeps track of how many have been cleansed and helps you find them. You have maps, which help you find them. You have Detective's Hunch, which helps you find them.
-
Best NOED nerf: cleanse totems. It'll make NOED disappear.
-
However you want, as long as it's not to intentionally piss off every other player. Simply put, don't be a dick.
-
Have you tried playing as those killers, by any chance?

I mentioned the way the perk currently works, which is 60 seconds or performing certain actions whichever comes first. What exactly was incorrect about that? Now I agree that certain actions should deactivate the perk but I'm not in agreement that the hard fast and furious 60 second timer is the way to go.
Nobody said it was incorrect, I simply said that you did, in fact, reference the conditions and that it did, in fact, look like you were complaining about them. You should've been more specific, we can't read your mind.
-
@Nicholas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2190009#Comment_2190009
I never said anything about the actions, tell me exactly what did I say that was incorrect? There's nothing incorrect about my statement. I'm not sure why you're wasting your time and mine by responding. Anyway another point is that a tunnel can exceed 60 seconds and yet the perk provides no relief in that circumstance. Again indisputable that the timer has nothing to do with being tunnelled, you can be tunnelled beyond 60 seconds and that was the point. The timer isn't tied to whether or not you're being tunnelled as has been suggested several times.
You explicitly mentioned the actions in your reply. While you do make a fair point about the timer (though there's another reason for it), you did mention the actions.
-
@Nicholas said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2187870#Comment_2187870
Let's be more accurate and clear, it deactivates after 60 seconds or whenever you perform certain actions whichever comes first. It has nothing to do with tunneling.
Let's be even more accurate and clear. Those actions are not actions you should be performing when the killer is chasing you. Therefore, if you perform them, you're not being tunneled.
-
I still pop in from time to time, play a little SWF. Been playing on and off since 2016.
