Funny you should say that, because kids and teens are the ones who use profanity every other sentence. As I grew older, I noticed that adults who acted the part rarely used profanity at all. Not because they're "no-no words" (which, incidentally, is why kids and teens use them so much, because of the "thrill" of saying/doing something "naughty"), but because there's really no need, and using them every other sentence decreases their impact.

Since they don´t chase me or playing like they would try to, i assume, they think they are too bad to go for chases.
What else should i do? I must not complain here and scream for changes, i must not try to not get angry as well? Is there anything in your opinion, what i could do instead? It was you or someone else here who said "get over it".

You're projecting your preference onto them. Most often, people will do whatever they can to win, except cheating (and before you say cheaters exist, I'll just say again: most often). If that means camping you, that's what they'll do.

Your need to portray the killer as the worse player, despite you being the one who lost, is quite common. What you must do is accept that if you constantly lose to this strategy, then the problem most likely lies with you, not the person using the strategy nor the strategy itself.
The first step is admitting you have a problem, as it were.

I've always found it perplexing when survivors telling me that I'm a bad killer, despite managing to 4k at 4 or 5 gens.
A whole lot of projecting going on. On both sides.
That's partly why there's so much frustration. They displace their faults onto others, but since that's not based on the reality of the situation, the problem doesn't get fixed. Since the problem doesn't get fixed, they become more frustrated.

Thanks for the Otzdarva video, i think it really will help me after a few seconds after the game.
Thank you for giving me ups and downs, if you "remove" camping or add other things to prevent it.
I will now simply take it as a "the killer is not good enough for me, so he camps and i´ll be fine with it."
I will now simply take it as a "the killer is not good enough for me, so he camps and i´ll be fine with it."
That won't fix the problem because it's based on a faulty premise. Namely, that you losing and someone else winning makes them bad because they didn't do it in a way you like. You'll still be angry at killers using this strategy, trust me.

Fewer trolls and spammers, thanks to the mod team (the unsung heroes of the forum), and most people seem more respectful overall (I'm guessing because the trolls are mostly gone). Other than that, not really.
The complaints are always the same (camping, tunneling, looping, stealth, BBQ, NOED, etc.), as are the justifications ("not fun", "toxic", "abusing", etc.). We also get regular "spikes" of these subjects, usually culminating with someone opening a thread noting that the many threads are "obviously" a sign of how whatever it is needs to be changed.
The same fallacious arguments are used, same responses, same conversation loops. My "favorite" is the "slowing down the sacrifice timer when the killer is near would totally work to help prevent camping!". Usually goes like this:
- OP makes the "innovative" suggestion, blissfully unaware of the game's history.
- Someone points out that it was already tried and abused.
- OP (or someone else) asks how it was abused.
- Someone explains how.
- OP (or someone else) starts making up the exact same constraints as everyone before them did (only while the killer isn't chasing anyone, only while another survivor isn't nearby, etc.).
- Someone explains that those constraints wouldn't work and don't address the core reason of why the attempt failed.
- At this point, many OPs will continue to argue that the constraints would totally work. However, all of them eventually drop the discussion with "Well, at least I'm trying to come up with a solution!"

Either way, sabotage needs a change. It's not a perk that I ever run as I find it useless in its current state.
If I ever get hooked, with all 3 survivors just standing around the hook and the killer face-camping me, none of them fixing gens or hiding off in the corner of the map, being so inactive they get crows, I'd rather have the option to leave. If they fix gens, I don't mind hanging around.
I'm also aware of how the lunge mechanic works.
Either way, sabotage needs a change. It's not a perk that I ever run as I find it useless in its current state.
Why is that a justification? I've been playing since 2016 and never used Leader, as I find it useless. Does that mean Leader needs to be changed, or that it simply doesn't match my playstyle?

what should survivor do instead? Just die? Killers have many other ways to win a round, they can simply keep pressure on gens or being good in loops. Killers who have a lack of skill will camp and tunnel instead because it is easy and you get so much out of it.
Survivors on the other hand can only do gens and loop to get out. Sorry but thats such a dumb comparison.
You can stealth.

We played like 20 rounds today, and in at least 10 rounds, someone got facecamped or tunneled into oblivion. And if the same person gets tunneled/camped in every frickin´ round, you will get tilted sooner or later.
i wasn´t saying directly, that they try it on purpose, but they do ruin it for many people by facecamping and tunneling the [BAD WORD] out of them.
And you ruin theirs by looping, but I'll bet you never considered not looping, nor did you ever consider making suggestions to stop looping, nor did you accuse the devs of "kissing loopers' asses by not punishing them".

true, but i was wondering how you could prevent killers from doing that. I can understand why you get tilted as a killer when you get clicked and teabagged but getting facecamped and tunneled is frustrating because you can literally do nothing against it. Even IF the rest will do gens, you can only get 3 gens done in that time. It´s stupid, how such people can ruin this game for you so easily. Also with those enormous waiting time in lobbys, you are basically doing nothing while playing, when you are either waiting for a game or waiting for your death on hook.
It´s stupid, how such people can ruin this game for you so easily.
The problem with that statement is that you're assuming they're trying to ruin your game. 99% of the time, they're not. The 1% are just #########. Your enjoyment doesn't factor into their decision-making process any more than their enjoyment factors into yours.

Technically still counts as a "SCP". The Entity's Realm counts as a Pocket Dimension Class.
I am aware. I'm just saying that there's little reason to consider Her separate from Her realm. Then again, the SCP wiki loves its -1, -A, etc.

In the same article, they reference the Entity as "It" or "itself" over 50 times, Also in your literal statement it says:
"This is due to the French language, mother tongue of most of the Developers, neither possessing a gender-neutral pronoun nor a grammatical neuter"
The very lore at the top of the page calls the Entity an "it"
"This thing, that I dubbed The Entity, is evil in its purest form. I find it hard to spot, but I can hear the cracking sound this loathsome thing emanates. Like a deity, it surrounds the area, closing in on me as its Killers hunt me. It does not seem to be dangerous in itself. Not until you are caught and the Killer hangs you from one of the abhorrent Hooks. I have ended up there over and over and every time I yearn for both release as well as escape. Pain melts with fear in a most horrid way. Yet I return to it, more or less every night. Once on the Hook, Entity takes over, pulling one upwards to something else."
In reality, it appears the original intent and current lore of the game designates the Entity as an "it" and not having a gender. Given that it is portrayed as some Godlike/Demon type "thing" it is likely it doesn't actually have a gender and anyone saying "she" or "her" is likely just being obnoxious.
Alternatives to your "obnoxious" claim:
- Headcanon
- Joke
Seriously, what harm does it do you if I call the Entity "She", as opposed to "It"?

the specifics are "matches ended in 5 minutes because each of the survivors were either way better then i am or had a ton of 2nd chances" and "matches ended in 2 minutes because my teammates had absolutely no idea what they were doing"
You know, normal things DBD players complain about, multiplied by about 5, was probably the most miserable DBD session i've had
This is going to sound insulting, even though it's not intended to, so I apologize in advance.
My guess is that because the current ranking system doesn't work properly, there are too many players who've been boosted to ranks they shouldn't be in and have a higher performance in those ranks than they should have because they go up against other boosted players. Thus, your MMR is inflated, because if the current ranking system were truly indicative of skill, neither you nor the survivors you're facing would be at your current ranks.

What is this new mentality of "you can't be tunneled or camped if you don't get caught"?
It just makes me laugh considering the mechanics of the game are designed for you to eventually be caught and downed.
Not to mention that a majority of the player base do not enjoy playing stealthy as much as the chase aspect.
It just makes me laugh considering the mechanics of the game are designed for you to eventually be caught and downed.
They're designed for you to lose the chase as a survivor, yes, but there's no mechanic* in place that reveals your location to the killer.
*No, killer powers don't count, I'm talking about a general mechanic like vaulting.

I see your point but can you understand my problems with the system?, the first time it was turned on was, well, something else, and the 2nd time i quit after 5 games because the games stopped being fun and started getting rage-inducing
If MMR works well, great, but i am remaining sceptical until matches can be a good mix of fun and fair
If it works the way it's supposed to, then it'll be as "fun" as you make it, because it will essentially match you with people who play the same way you do.
The more you play to win, the more you'll be matched with people who do the same, since you'll have similar performance in many of the metrics. The more you just ######### around, the more you'll be matched with people who do the same, for the same reason.
Without knowing more specifics about why trials "stopped being fun" and "started getting rage-inducing" for you, that's all I can say.
-
@Seraphor said:

That would likely involve adding way more ranks, like, 100+, and then making far more complex conditions for ranking up. Likely requiring more than 5 pips per rank, and having some conditions that give you way more then 5 pips and some that take away more than 1 at a time.
But most of all, it would involving giving each killer their own rank.
Which is what MMR aims to do in the first place. MMR is not wholly different from the rank system, it just takes more variables into account and has many more possible ranks.
-
@DragonMasterDarren said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2184639#Comment_2184639
So why not improve the current system rather then scrap it entirely for something that is infinitely more complex? Especially a system that would result in even sweatier games at the higher ranks?
MMR is an improvement over the current system. It's taking multiple factors into account to determine something that can approximately be called the "skill" of an individual player (with a certain character, in the case of the survivors), as opposed to just looking at what they did in a given trial and deciding whether or not to rank them up.
The problem is that rank is not a good reflection of skill. MMR aims to fix that by expanding how rank is determined in the first place, thereby approximating it to skill. The fact that the system is called something else doesn't mean it's that different. It's the same system, just taking into account more metrics than just what you did in 4 categories.

Wish i had your experiences, cause when i played with MMR i got survs and killers way more skilled then i am and had to sweat bullets all for nothing because i'm playing Demo and not Spirit or Nurse
I said it once and i will say it again, MMR is not going to work with DBD, too many factors that the game has to take into account and even if it by some miracle works it'll just be SWF with 16 second chances and Nurse, Spirit and, Freddy with quad slowdown constantly
At first, I got killers who were easy to beat and potato survivors, then they became increasingly more skilled until they more or less "plateaued" and I felt they were more or less on my level (some, I felt, were slightly worse than me, but not by much).

Losing streaks happen, just like winning streaks. It's just how games work. However, if you notice you're getting tilted, my recommendation is to turn off the game and take a break for a while, because that'll just worsen the issue.
-
Metas can be established for many reasons, but the most common one is that it's the most efficient way to play, meaning it maximizes winrate while minimizing effort. It doesn't mean that any deviation from the meta would immediately result in ruin for the player.
Those perks you're talking about? They didn't exist at launch. There was a different meta, because that's what was most efficient at the time. So, yes, the meta is in place for a reason, but not the reason you think.

- dark souls is a series about knights
- proper chat filter implementation that actually seeks to protect people from this language wouldn't filter out the middle of words, nor would it filter out words like "rump"
- That's a serious oversimplification. It's like saying DbD is a game about fog. There are knights in the games, but it's not a series about knights. To say so ignores all the lore and fantasy aspects of the series.
- I get it, but if it did that, bypassing the filter would be ridiculously simple.

The devs can't do anything about stuff that happens outside the game. For now, until if and when they censor usernames, the only thing you can do is make everything private.
